  1. I think the person said that it's harder to do the major characters because there's so many decades of material. Probably much easier to do a character who was on the show for a couple of years and specifically years where there is a lot of video online. It must take so much patience but it's a great idea and always well executed.
  2. https://archive.org/details/the-young-the-restless-october-15-1990-partial-convert-video-online.com 10/15/90 new on archive.
  3. Styling has a lot to do with it too. 20somethings were dressed in business suits with shoulder pads, heavy makeup and huge hair. Eileen Davidson and Tracey Bregman seemed much older than their own age in the 80s, but it did them well, because now it seems that they've hardly aged. Sometimes I think they look better now! In contrast today with the deglamorization of the show, the actors wear much more casual clothing and look younger. They hang out in coffee shops all day. Most of them don't seem believable as wealthy people and CEOs. It was an event when you saw Victor in casual clothes. You never saw Jeanne dressed that way except as Marge.
  4. Jeanne was 46 in 1974. This is 10 years before the facelift. Hard to believe in these scenes she was younger than Sharon Case is now.
  5. Thanks, Angel, whoever you are! 🥰😍 I went in and reorganized 1990 into folders. It's cleaner now. Everyone uses different naming styles so it was hard to see what was there or not. Now it will be easier to see if anything is missing/incomplete.
  6. Have you seen the vault posted in the Y&R: Old Articles thread? This full episode is in there, and there's a bunch from 1975. I hadn't watched this scene in a long time. It resonates. Poor Jill trying to subtly bring up her mom's job, Katherine not hearing (deliberately? or is she that consumed with herself?). Such good dialogue for such a simple scene. And that shot of Jill entering the house for the first time and supporting a drunken Kay... what a contrast from Kay's final scene before Jeanne's passing. I love old Y&R cause I always notice something new.
  7. I have season 1 already but thank you for the offer!
  8. Haha it is hard to have a discussion cause we're all at different points. I try not to be too detailed with what I post in case people haven't watched that far... Worrying about spoilers for things that aired 35 years ago... Only a soap fan would understand 😜
  9. Anyone still watching the clips in the vault? I'm slowing down a bit so I can savor them more now that I know they've ended. I'm just so glad this person shared their stuff cause those September 1986 Jill and Sven clips ended on a cliffhanger and we'd never have seen what happened! Plus we get the conclusion of the December episode with Paul's centerfold. The Sven outcome was kinda too similar to the Shawn storyline with the woman stupidly going with the bad guy. The interaction between Jack/Carl and Jack/John was more interesting. Gotta love the courtroom scenes and shelter scenes with so many extras. The shelter scenes were like something out of Dickens, a lot going on, and all good actors! I can't believe all the subtext with Phillip being uncomfortable with girls and his reaction to Nina kissing him. I really do wonder if the writers had his orientation in mind then. I feel really bad for him. He's forging a real connection to Kay, I believe her feelings are genuine to an extent but she's also blatantly lying to him. And don't tell me she wouldn't have sent him to boarding school just like Jill did. And we got Ashley and Victor's confrontation about the abortion! That's been on my wishlist for a while. I always thought Victor wouldn't find out for a long time after and that her breakdown would come immediately after. I liked the rain outside the cabin and the parallel to her first breakdown. Loved the scenes between Victor and Matt. Hard to believe they couldn't find more for him to do. Nikki not being told she's sick is dragging on too long. I skimmed early 1987 and it looks like the uploaded didn't include much of the Jill and Kay fued which is a bummer. Maybe the person was not a big fan of Brenda Dickson. I uploaded the second half of 1/6/87 a while ago thanks to a tape someone sent to me. Does anyone have the scenes from the following episode where Kay takes the stand? Dying to see that!
  10. To the person that asked about why the first two seasons aren't on the vault... they are... most of the "German" videos are actually dual track, you just have to switch audio tracks on your computer or TV to get English. I believe @Marquise shared these first, they are great DVD quality videos. Maybe @ChickenNuggetz92 can post an admin response to that person? I did some reorganizing of the 1987 folder to make it more clear. I think it would be better to divide each year into chunks of 25 episodes. That way we wouldn't have to scroll through 250 episodes to see if new ones are posted at the bottom of the 1990 folder. If anyone wants to reorganize the other folders, feel free lol. I will work on it when I have time.
  11. Possible confirmation for Nov 28, 1986 https://www.radiodiscussions.com/showthread.php?704112-Retro-Youngstown-Cleveland-Pittsburgh-Friday-November-28-1986 The CBS schedule lists a movie and children's programs while ABC and NBC lists the soaps.
  12. @Brolden Forgive me if this is old information. I see from your list on page 4 that you still have September 1 and 5th 1986 as possible preemptions (maybe there was an updated list I am missing). I found this NY Times archive of the 1986 US Open schedule, does this confirm the dates for you? https://www.nytimes.com/1986/08/25/sports/us-open-tv-schedule.html Monday, Sept. 1: Men's and women's fourth rounds. (CBS, 12:30-6 p.m.; USA 7:30-11 p.m.) Friday, Sept. 5: Women's semifinals, men's doubles final. (CBS, 11:00 a.m.-noon, 12:30-5 p.m.)
  13. Thanks, I'll update the episode #. My rationale is that although the person on archive labelled this as 10/31/1991, I know @YRfan23 has Y&R from this date on their playlists as 10/30, so I dug around the news clips, at 3:24 here https://archive.org/details/soapoperaswhdhboston19911031perfectstorm they give an update after Guding Light: this was opening day of the Middle East Peace conference in Madrid. Wikipedia confirms the conference started on 10/30: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madrid_Conference_of_1991 Found another one (really had to dig to find these cause they are just labelled "soap opera" and I usually just search the names of the shows; but I guess a lot of these people are just uploading random VHS and don't know or care which show it is): https://archive.org/details/whdhraw First hour is a GL from March, then an hour in it switches to half a Y&R episode followed by the rest of the CBS lineup (B&B from 1:30 - 2). at :3:58 they mention a movie starting Friday, February 9, 1990 so the episode must be from earlier in the week.
  14. https://archive.org/details/soapoperaswhdhboston19911031perfectstorm Pretty sure this is actually 10/30/91 based on the news reports. I added it to the vault.
  15. There are promos from Italy from the early 80s. Weird that they got it before France and Germany.
  16. I like to note the title of Y&R in various languages and search them periodically as well, haha. On this topic does anyone speak Turkish, or know when Y&R aired in Turkey? I found a full episode on YouTube a couple of years ago that said 1990, but looks like its US airdate would've been 1986 or 1987.
  17. Thanks @rsclassicfanforever and @Marquise I think that video of Phoebe's death could be #5453 which is missing from the official B&B YouTube. Not sure about the others. Very nice quality too.
  18. I hope if a group is made, that people continue to post everything here as well, so one is missing out if they aren't on those groups. @MissPalmer awesome, thanks for the videos of bella Venezia! More soaps on archive: https://archive.org/details/vhs-tape-1995.03.19-sdpb-documentary-fun-raising-lawrence-welk-show-kelo-the-bol 3 episodes cut and uploaded to the vault. I'm not 100% sure of the dates and numbers, please do confirm: 3/8/95 #1992 3/15/95 #1997 (this was already on the vault, however this version is more complete and has a few minutes at the beginning that were cut off the other one) 7/5/95 #2074 https://archive.org/details/vhs-tape-1995.02.23-ksfy-abc-sunday-night-movie-patriot-games-kelo-cbs-special-m There's another 3 or 4 episodes here. I have not had a chance to cut them or look it at them if anyone wants to help with the episode numbers.
  19. Two more added to the vault, audio editing by me... and I do believe this is it for my 1986, I'll work on 1987 next. 6/26/86 - Nina's debut, Kay remembers asking Jill to buy her baby - the flashback is also on (110) of the clips but the Nina scenes are not 7/3/86 - HQ version (deleted video dated 7/4 which was a low quality of same episode) - Watch this one before clip set (111).
  20. Those are July 21 and 22, 1992, which were already uploaded, but still thank you for thinking of us! Thanks Awesome!!! Thank you so much to whoever it is! 😇 I looked at the videoland site and they are also up to 816 so we're all caught up!
  21. Aw, it's like the end of an era, but thank you sooooo much to this person, whoever you are! This has been quite a ride. The uploads started right as the CBS classics were ending so it helped with the "detox" hahaha. People like you inspire others to upload and keep this thing going! Although it wasn't all full episodes, I feel like I've now seen the important bits from those years, filling in a huge gap plus it's motivating me to get in gear with uploading the rest of my 80s DVDs! I think that the clips were curated very well, the way it basically followed along with whatever the major A story was at each time, getting all the climaxes and big moments in Y&R history.
  22. https://bit.ly/2A3Bnhv I was the one who thanked you first, I assumed you meant that you were the angel, and I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. I do remember you uploaded some Y&R episodes too so you have contributed. Uploading is hard work, and I'm sure it was frustrating for the other uploader who is contributing as a guest and not getting credit. I share because so many others share. It's kind of like paying it forward. I know if I continue putting up what I have, others will also put up their videos and we might eventually have our complete collection! There are lots of great people out there sharing, so hopefully, this will all get forgotten about and someone eventually will start uploading the B&B Classics again. Enjoy the rest of the weekend! Edit: I see @sheilaforever added the videos from the 6 hours of B&B one, so I added the 1995 episodes from the other big block of VHS goodies. Thanks sheilaforever!
  23. Thank you! I can do the remaining ones, let me know where you leave off. And thank you @BoldKara for the dates!
  24. Added to the Vault 4/1/86 - takes place before clip (86) 8/22/86 - It's Ok To Say No Concert - The English version video quality isn't as good as the German. The German version has the songs in English, and some of the chit chat between songs in English with German subtitles. Depends whether you care more about the video or audio. 9/15/86 9/16/86 9/17/86 I haven't watched those yet so I don't know exactly how they fit into the clips but I see Jack starts wearing that red shirt around clip (114) Also uploaded 11/1/88 partial
