Rare indeed! How nice that they were able to dig those up in honor of MTS 35 years! I love how it's kind of an evolution of Nikki. It's nice to see actual clear footage from 1979. I appreciate all those audio clips that alphaguy posted from that same year (mostly dealing with the Katherine/Derek/Suzanne story) but it's nice to see actual scenes......that Walter Addison guy looks like a cross between Quinn Redeker and Roscoe Born IMO....that whole scene was really campy and OTT in a good way, you can kind of tell that MTS was still a little green especially when she was getting attack, but there is something so genuine about it, that she keeps you watching.....LOL at the heart attack scene.....I was thinking Nikki was gonna kill him liked she killed her father but that probably would have been to extreme to have her murder again so early in her run.....I was worried that for some reason that they edited out the background music but i'm glad it's there, haha. That 1981 clip was plain scary!.....What's the deal with this Edward Norman Bates rip off story.....i flinched a little when he showed Nikki his mother's painting.......Melody looked very pretty in that clip though.....You know I keep praying that TV Guide will one day air classic character marathons and show all these great episodes..... that 1987 fantasy scene was beautiful, I love when EB plays tender Victor moments....too bad most of this story doesn't exist online.... finally the Nikki stripping scene had me rolling.....it was so perfect but my favorite's were the looks on Victor and Cassandra's faces......I guess this is what really led to Nikki's drinking later int he year besides the fall.....I could have sworn I read that Nikki did this again later during the actual drinking story less then a year later?

Rebels unite......someone else has just opened a channel with several episodes from the 80's and early 90's. http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCu5JZ-bfOpm1Knoz-wtTYyw?feature=g-subs-u I have actually seen 3 or those episodes (the 11/20/87, 10/4/91 an 10/7/91) but not the 10/15/87 and 10/23/89 episodes.....I particularly enjoyed the en10/15/87 episode because it covered more of the forgotten Faren story with the crazy maid Janet.... the 10/23/89 is the follow up of 10/20/89 episode I posted and has the Derek/Cricket climax/finale and probably one of the most bizarre endings i have ever scene on Y&R.

Welcome Back....again! haha, no need to worry, because of a slight malfunction I didn't have my laptop so I couldn't upload, but hopefully this weekend (maybe even tonite!) I can upload the rest of 1990 that I have.... I'm gonna watch that 2000 episode right now, i found it a couple weeks ago, but I'm gonna watch it.

I thought it was hilarious how everyone else cared more about the bar exam results for Cricket, then the wedding. You would think they would save time and combine the wedding with Cricket receiving the good news......I thought it was sweet that Lauren asked Lynne to be her maid of honor, and the kisses that Lauren and Paul shared in the bedroom were also kind of sweet, though I sort of felt sorry for Scott......That had to been one of the few times Danny shared scenes with Lauren during this era.....it's a shame how the show seemed to forget about the warm friendship they shared before the Sheila stuff, though i know they later sort of revived the friendship after Danny came back with Phyllis, I recall seeing those VERY LONG Victor/Nikki scenes as a flashback on another episode.....it's always nice when you watch an episode that shows a flashback and eventually that episode pops up in the future.....I agree those scenes were intense and sad, especially the part when Victor says "I will always wish you well".....I loved the music too

I enjoyed that episode too! It is fun just picking random episodes to re-watch, especially when you have nothing to do on the weekends, haha. All the comments were wonderful from you and everybody, and i so wish i could at least get all of those back.....luckily there are ones that I remember cause they stick out in my mind (mainly yours) but I just wish i could find an old link to my comments..... I would still make all my videos public again in a heartbeat if we found out that SONY has given this whole blocking episodes thing a rest.

ALL: Soap Opera Background Music Thread
Had to Post this......I have been looking for this piece forever, it's the instrumental version of "Bless the Beasts and the children" that they used on Y&R a lot in the 70's and mostly throughout the 80's and 90's.

Maybe the GH offer came through for Stephanie before they could have done anything major for Amy......I would have liked to have seen her help out with Nathan and logically having not been in town for almost 2 years Adrian wouldn't know who she was..... I liked how they gave Selena the name Sally....You can really tell with scenes like these how much Bill liked reusing other characters names.... I guess you could either go with B&B Sally or 70's Y&R Sally. Brittany lasted at least till that spring, as if you recall she was on those April 1990 episodes I posted.......it's too bad that they didn't keep her longer because I like the spunk that she sort of has.......she reminds me of Kimberlin a little so maybe Bill didn't want to have 2 similar actresses on the same show. Katherine really just kills you with those scenes......The fact that she really would have been free if the driver wasn't the same guy who helped with the kidnapping and that they do that long dialogue with her breaking down/rejoicing over her freedom only to have it snatched away from her, made you really feel for her!...brilliant directing, dialogue, writing everything!...... and you also really did want to strangle Marge along with Katherine too.....That was the best part that brief catfight......any old Y&R episodes that have the women call each other a bitch, or get into a scuffle, make my day! haha and you got a double deal with Brittany calling Cassandra a bitch, and Katherine attacking Marge. I thought that Chase scene was funny too, but the I really enjoyed the David/Nina pizza scenes, quite a different setting for that time.....I have to say Nina looked kind of hot in those LA flashbacks with Chase.

That would be great! btm85bubs who now goes by 0814btm uploaded all this episodes back when SONY wasn't as much as a butthole about old Y&R/B&B episodes being uploaded. Do you know if you have the other episodes saved that might have came from him? there was also an October 1990 episode as well as one from 91 and a couple from 93.

It was off-camera. With Bill Bell I've come to learn that you sometimes have to use your imagination, but I guess that's why the characters do such a good job describing stuff that happen that we didn't get to see.....I would have loved to seen more of her, particularly scenes with Paul and Lynne. She would have been a breath of much needed air if they had her helped them with the Cassandra stuff. My last April 1990 Re-Upload, then I will upload that "new" episode from June that wasn't on my channel.

Unfortunately no .......I do not have any May 1990 in my collection right now.....the closest I have (which wasn't on my last channel) is an episode from June 1, 1990 but none of the 3 are in that one despite the fact that 2 of the 3 were already on by that point, (Dru and Sheila, then Olivia showed up a couple weeks later I think.) I wanna say Dru arrived before Sheila but I can't be certain. both VR and TLW were put on contract right away and surprisingly Kimberlin wasn't put on contract till bout the end of the year.....I have episodes from November 1990 that still list Sheila as recurring but Bill Bell originally intended her to be short term.... Anyways there's always a chance I will get more stuff later so If I happen to get some episodes from that month I will surely upload them! .....I think there use to be a couple of episodes from May 1990 on youtube that were taken down. One I think is still up, but just the first 10 minutes or so....one of them had the first ever scene between Lauren and Sheila when she miscarried her first baby.

I forgot about Rock On LOL....that explains a lot. I totally forgot to ask.....What did you think of the Nathan/Amy scenes....I still can't believe they got Stephanie Williams back after she had left 2 years prior.....I always assumed she was gone for good.....it was a pleasant surprise to see her and the fact that she only missed interacting with Drucilla and Oliva by a smidge.....

I think Lynne had more to do then Carol, even though I don't think she ever had a story of her own other then help Paul with his investigations......Carol was a bit more subtle I think.......It always pains me whenever I watch an old episode and you can see the frustration in Carol's face (most likely Christopher Templeton's in real life) of having nothing to do but take orders from the Abbotts. At first I thought you meant John, but then I remembered that Carol had a crush on Jack. haha

What exactly was the situation with Michael Damian's first departure? Was it to focus on his music career? I know he had left that previous summer, and I believe in one of the 1989 synopses you posted they asked Lauralee Bell what her favorite romance was, and she talked about Danny and made it seem like he wasn't coming back......I assume that he was always meant to come back and it was just a break from the show, like Joseph years later..... The Katherine/Marge scenes were great, I even forget that Jeanne had to film scenes as 2 different people because she is very convincing.....I loved Morey's part where he looked at them both and said he didn't know who was who, and then Lil chimed (to Marge) in that one was enough..... I don't understand why SOD named this the "worst Duel Role" in their 1990 Best and Worst......They complained that watching Katherine and Esther in the cabin day after day was boring, but as you can see plenty of stuff happen that I wouldn't considered boring......Yes the wait is frustrating, but these are some of the most entertaining scenes coming from Jeanne in these episodes...

Thanks for watching! That kid was a handful wasn't he? haha, I always love how he keeps trying to grab everyone's nose, but I guess Tricia Cast didn't really want that, as she kept pushing his hand away.....it was still a cute scene.... I had no idea that Nina's apartment is now Adam and Chelsea's......weird, but I was wondering if they still used it.... I thought the Jack and Victor scenes were pretty good......the build up that led to nothing is classic Bill Bell that only he could pull off. Cricket and Danny are always so cheesy in these episodes......I have to be honest and say I always roll my eyes when they pop up in most of my episodes because they had so much airtime between the 2 of them (Cricket especially) and they basically are just there for "comic relief" and cheesy one liners.....I read somewhere once that Michael Damian said he hated the dialogue they gave Danny and Cricket because it wasn't realistic or something....LOL at least we can't really fault Bell for that because I don't think he wrote the actual dialogue......I would love to know who did though.... Chase was basically hired by Jill to try to sweep Nina off her feet so that she wouldn't be able to manipulate Phillip with her son......he also worked at Jabot. He ended up actually developing feelings for Nina, but she had already fell in love and married David.....He just "disappeared" right around the time the David story reached the climax with Nina shooting him.....I believe he was on for about 3 years.......1988-1991. Skip and Carol both worked at Jabot, he was a photographer and she was the Jabot secretary. They got married and around the time they wanted kids of their own....it was discovered it would be too risky with Carol and her disability and Skip had a low sperm count, so they decided to choose adoption. Nan was the girl who offered to give their baby to them, but as you will see on these episodes she started to have second thoughts and had this idea that if she could prove her boyfriend was the father, maybe they could all be a family.....anyways Skip also "disappeared" after the story finished later that year and Carol remained on in a completely minimal role until about 1993 or so.......I actually don't know how this story ended because unfortunately I don't have the episodes that show the end of it.....I do know that they got to keep the baby because Carol is seen holding her on the fourth of July 91 episode during the annual Abbott BBQ.- Y&R: Old Articles

IMO I seemed to notice more of a change to Jess's portrayal of Jill after the Victor affair and after she married John for the 2nd time and had Billy.....I feel like even after Phillip died she played Jill as more campy, but not a total imitation of Brenda like the first couple years.......Once she married John and had the affair with Jed I think Jill became just more of a bitch and less campy, which is kind of how she has played it since then (bad writing and all)- Y&R: Old Articles
Thanks for sharing! She seems like a truly remarkable woman, it's too bad she probably won't do anymore soaps......I would leave to see a recent picture. It's sad that all the actresses that brought this mysterious alluring presence and natural beauty to Y&R have all retired from acting Nina Arvesen, Diana Barton, even Kimberlin Brown has chosen to focus more on her designing then acting at the moment...... - Y&R: Old Articles
