CBS This Morning's insistence on showing clips of SNL spoofs and late night comedian's hot takes in place of substantive election coverage is a big reason why they fell out of favor with me. Reading this article Leaders Abroad, Joyful or Wary, Face Uncertainty of Trump Era, I have to admit this this paragraph stood out to me and I could barely suppress a chuckle. “My parents have only been in America for a few months and they don’t know much about it, but even they could not bear what Trump said,” Mr. Zhang wrote. “My father asked me, ‘This president, why does he describe the United States as a society that is worse off than China’s old feudal society?’”

To the Trumpkin, no less! Angie's far from a favorite of mine but I would've rather those quality #1 points go to a player I actually like. Oh well (shrug).

Well, at least, according to THR, CBS/Moonves didn't seem to get much benefit from their "wall to wall" coverage of the inauguration and deservedly so.

Yes, Mischa has just come into his own. I really think, the Zverev brothers are encouraging each other and pushing each other to improve and are now starting to see the benefits. Mischa saw Sascha achieve and it pushed him to try to do the same. I've been watching both make strides over the year. People didn't give Mischa much notice because some (*coughs* John McEnroe) thought he was too old but Mischa has a nice looking game. I didn't get to see the entire match (went to bed but I'll watch the replay later) but I had this strange feeling that Andy could be in for it-it was not as strong as the feeling I had that Novak was in trouble- but it was a feeling that it would be a tough match for Andy. Anyway, this opens up the Men's draw which has rarely happened over the last 6-7 years, with some top guys going out of the competition, mixed in with a few legends pushing through. It provides some excitement. I was dubious about Australia speeding up its court surface but now, I'm starting to believe that they actually did it!

Did not see one point of the Nadal vs. Zverev match but heard it was good. His big brother is on court now playing Andy Murray.

Yeah, I'm not going to spare any thoughts for the neo Nazis, nor the Dylann Roofs of this world. I'd rather reserve my feeling for the elderly woman and the disabled man who were pepper-sprayed by police for protesting yesterday. That's not hypocritical, that's called being human and not being a fool. I'm not going to align myself, by wasting emotion in anyway with anyone who refuses to recognize my humanity. Cannot abide people who come especially to try to shame people for not grieving over a neo Nazi being punched yet were totally absent when we all discussed a church full of dead people at Bible study. Not here for it.

I'm guessing most of those people who tuned in yesterday were the "hidden Trump voter", the ones who were too shame-faced to show themselves in public but probably had 'watch parties' at home. I didn't even want to watch the livestream and I feel like my time was well-spent avoiding the entire sh*tshow.

Yeah, I was talking to a few friends about this and we all agreed that even though the we were impressed with the pictures and the parts of the livestream that we did see, that 53% really bothers us because it represents a rift that has been there for a very long time, that began with the Women's Suffrage movement and has persisted. It's the reason why historically many Black women have been slow to embrace the word feminist, many used to choose womanist instead. There is essentially a lack of trust that White women will be there to back Black women when the circumstances are critical. Black women feel very let down by the election results. I admit, I felt very letdown and I still feel pangs of anger about it every now and then, especially when I read some foolishness that comes out of Trump's mouth. I know some immigrant women who are first time voters, who say they will not vote again and doubt the integrity of the "system". I tried to explain how the electoral college works, but even I struggle to explain its relevance in contemporary times. Many times, I just feel drained...still. I do applaud those women who marched today and I was encouraged to see the images and clips of the various speakers who appeared in DC and the marchers from around the world. I suspect today's success is what sparked that ridiculous news conference (which I did not see) as Trump's looking for yet another diversion tactic. Hopefully soon, people will stop falling for these antics.

So, Trump has already tried to delete a tweet? I guess he doesn't understand 'that whole archiving tweets thing'. Donald Trump just deleted a tweet. Now that he's president, that might not be legal.

According to CNN, the crowd at the Women's March has already exceeded the crowd at the inauguration yesterday. I assumed China but apparently, those red hats were made in Vietnam. 'It's made in Vietnam!' At inauguration, origin of red Trump hats shocks many

Grigor moves on, Gasquet goes home (or wherever is out of the tournament). Good match to watch. Those pretty backhands on both sides. Grigor played well, from start to finish.

...and this embodies that fundamental difference between Obama and Trump, as human beings. Well, considering how Republicans rejected the Disability Bill that Bob Dole championed...and we all know how Trump feels about the disabled.

I've had the Furher blocked for sometime. Hopefully Twitter handled the situation with the accounts. So far, I have not had that problem. Besides, when you delete your Twitter account, you risk missing gems like this- I won't post the video of the neo-nazi Richard Spencer getting punched in the face but I will admit, I looked for it and enjoyed seeing it.

I didn't know that Betsy DeVos is the sister of Erik Prince, founder of Blackwater. Most of us will know about Blackwater's misadventures in Iraq. So apparently Trump only had a crowd of 250,000 at his inauguration? Obama had 1,800,000 in 2009 and 1,000,000 in 2013.

Brexit unwinding will take two years as May has iterated that she wants Britain to make a "clean break" (although I doubt Great Britain has much choice at this point). As I understand, Great Britain cannot even begin to negotiate trade deals until sometime in 2019. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/01/19/world/europe/world-economic-forum-davos-theresa-may-brexit.html?_r=0 Of course, Trumpkins are claiming this to be false on social media. Are they claiming that Bloomberg is 'fake news'? Terrible, especially for prospective homebuyers who are of modest to middle income. Trump Reverses Obama's Mortgage Fee Cuts on First Day
