  1. This July 1993 promo for ATWT that aired during GL is brief but intriguing. It stars Terry Lester (Jack Abbott #1) who played Royce Keller. I especially like the 'classic-esque' take on the spinning Globe and the blue-tinged background, which makes the promo look sort of vintage.
  2. Well, this is disturbing.
  3. Have people seen this new statue of Melanie, er, Melania Trump?
  4. People still read pieces written by Maureen Dowd??
  5. Thanks to Tish James and the SDNY for finally making some headway. We'll see what, if anything, Florida does.
  6. Completely forgot about this man.
  7. Now he's blaming the Telepromter for this mess. Any fourth grader could confidently surmise that there were no airports during the period of the Revolutionary War!
  8. ...or they'll just pass it off as being utterances from that liberal NYC. If they wanted right-leaning views they should've set up MOTS interviews in Staten Island. ...but then, they'd have been far from the actual Macys fireworks display. Oh well, those snowflakes at NBC will just have to deal, or take a road trip out to S.I. next time.
  9. #RainOnTrumpsParade is trending, lol. The pictures are quite a sight and by quite, I mean gross.

  11. I know a few people had some questions on busing and what it meant culturally to integrate schools. This late 70s documentary (that shows up every few years on PBS) narrated by Bill Moyers about a black family integrating a Queens, NY neighborhood might shed further light on what this entails.
  12. Everyday I'm more disgusted by what goes on in this country.
  13. A legacy of the Trump years, perhaps.
  14. I think we may be seeing more of these types of jumps -- from streaming to a network--in the future. CBS All Access quietly decided to run the first couple seasons of the streaming platform's most popular, highly acclaimed series The Good Fight on CBS network during the summer. It will be interesting to see what the results are considering how different TGF is from CBS' usual fare and also the fact that being on a streaming platform has allowed TGF to take a lot more risks in the writing and characterizations than the traditional CBS network series. Cable, I would imagine would be a more seamless transition from streaming, considering the risks cable has already been taking with its shows for decades.
  15. For some strange reason, I was expecting this. There was just something about Bridget Kelly's tone after that initial trial that said this matter was far from over.
  16. You think a race between Biden and Trump will be civil? I think you'll be in for a surprise on that one. Also, comparing Biden's debate performances from 2008 and last night, it's clear that Trump will be salivating over the chance to debate Biden. I'll vote for whomever is the presumptive nominee but I think that on the civility issue, that genie has already left the bottle.
  17. It's evident in the way that Eric Trump has already retweeted (before deleting) troll army tweets that are trying to spread birther-ist conspiracy takes about Harris.
  18. @Vee, I thought you'd appreciate this one.
  19. Tennis industry media et al., trots out the same punditry, tired think-pieces and click-baity headlines, then wonders why the sport won't grow. I think I'll skip reading all of it for awhile. Maybe then I'll be able to watch the sport with some measure of peace and perhaps enjoyment.
  20. Yeah, I saw that leak about Joe Biden. Also, certain members of the press mentioned that all of the other candidates stayed after the debate to answer questions from various media/press but Joe left rather quickly, saying that he was tired. One woman on Twitter stated that her Aunties were excited about Harris and would rather vote for her but don't trust that white people will vote for her and so, think Biden is the safe choice. I think that's very sad. It's also what many black people were saying about Obama early in the primaries. I remember watching The View (yes, I used to watch that show) and Sheri Shephard said she was voting for Hillary Clinton in the primary, because she felt she knew Hillary better since Hillary had been the Senator from New York, but more importantly, she doubted Obama could win in a general election. She wasn't alone. That time reminded me of this situation with Harris and Biden. After the first round, it just seems clear that Harris, Warren and Castro delivered the strongest debate performances. It's a shame that they are still being judged as somehow being less than electable than the guys who clearly had lesser presentations by criteria that is loopier than Williamson's debate answers.
  21. Of course, SW19 would do that. They say these draws are random but...
  22. Busing kids from their neighborhood, usually across a lengthy distance to another neighborhood to attend school. Most often it tended to be black kids and many of the interactions toward those kids were hostile as many white parents did not want change.
