  1. Saw it on TV last night. I say all Tracy fans wear black on Thursday in solidarity! *only partially kidding* Got an email from Tracey at JE.com, and she said she'd look into putting a chat room up on the site. Hopefully, it'll be more reliable and we can still maintain the Bravenet chat as a back-up. ETA: Squee! Page 186. We're the bestest obssessive fans on the Internet! Eat that, Harry Potter fans! *waves at TracyFan*
  2. Fey just informed me that Bravenet is undergoing major renovations to their site, which may be the cause of the trouble with the Break Room. I just tried to get in, and couldn't get access either. I remember at one point Tracey from JE.com mentioning that the site would have chat capabilities. I just shot her an email asking if that was still true, and if it would be possible to relocate the Break Room to the JE site to make it more stable/accessible. I also thanked her for the boatload of articles and images she's posted to the galleries, which I'm totally grooving on. I will be offline probably for the rest of the night. May work on the AU story, or I may shoot out a quick little Tracy-Dillon piece I've been batting around in my head for a day or two. OR I may just take a hot bath and go to sleep. The night is full of possibilities. TA!
  3. It's 8 o'clock, and I'm still in there. Random Trivia: JE's one and only Broadway credit: The Impossible Years with Alan King. She was in the show for a year and a half. I think I saw the movie version...once...years ago on the late, late movie.
  4. Today's clips are up at Something-More.net, my new favorite site on the entire Internet (besides here and JE.com). Please remember to say thanks before downloading. TQ is in the last clip, and boy does she look PISSED...and gorgeous. *pets poor sad Tracy* *kicks pathetic Luke* Dude you so need to make this up to her. Hot monkey sex is only the start. Diamonds and moonlit dinners better be involved, and if you can toss her a couple of corporate successes, you *MIGHT* be out of the doghouse by your second anniversary.
  5. I officially hate this show. Vent session in the break room? Tonight around 5:30-6:00 pm Eastern?
  6. MsQ, are you watching live? Did he or didn't he divorce Tracy? And is she on (in the last five mintues)? I am so kicking the computer right now. I hate this show some days.

  8. Since Lainey isn't here to do it--- SQUEE!!!!! Hot Monkey Sex! Hot Monkey Sex. Hot Monkey Sex. And now a moment of silence, in honor of Lainey, who should be back on the 19th.
  9. Okay, I'll say it now--the woman has almost no curves at all in that picture. How is it she can still look so feminine and poised? *shakes head* Loves the many looks of Tracy Quartermaine!
  10. Hey, my girlfriend did an Internet Intervention on me--otherwise, my Internet Sobriety™ would be nonexistant. Update on the AU story--Tracy is now safely back in the bosom of her family (gawd help her) and trying to adjust to being a princess again. Believe me, it ain't as glamorous as it sounds. Got 11 pages written today, which brings the story to a whopping 63 pages, and I'm nowhere near the end. Hope everyone had a great weekend! Looking forward to more TQ this week.
  11. Happy belated birthday, knh! I hope you have a great day. And MsQ, congratulations on your attempts at Internet Sobriety. I'm hooked, but fortunately RL keeps me from indulging to the point of *cough* passing out and getting hauled out of the room by Big Alice to be dumped unceremoniously into a closet for the duration of the wedding..... Sorry I couldn't join you guys in the chat last night. We went see a late movie (The Santa Clause III, which was really very entertaining), and we were exhausted when we got back. Sounds like much fun was had! ETA: Geena at HellaGood has posted the LuNacy clips from Tuesday. It's two hours later, and I'm still having trouble downloading, but there they are. Please remember to post a thank you if you download.
  12. New Avatar. Wicked-inspired. Because in the end, I'm just an ickle troublemaker!
  13. Oh, Angel! Your "Never a Damsel" icon just kicked me right in the gut....wow. I also love your banner, even though I have no clue who the woman is.
  14. Felt creative. ETA: I just posted a short LuNacy fic to the Ficathon. A Toast to the Groom: Luke and Tracy share a drink before his wedding to Laura. Inspired by the pic above. Pure self-indulgence. *waves to Angel!*
  15. Break Room? It's 11 Eastern
  16. I'm sorry, MsQ. I was totally freaked by the concept, but you're right. Why give JE a ***** scene when they could fake Jason's death? I mean, why bother with all that emotion and passion and pathos when you could shoot a mobster? Oh, and Trace looks frabbin' GORGEOUS in that last picture. They're like Bonnie and Clyde!
  17. And I may be crazy, but I love the "wedding" dress. Classy--not a perfect fit, but still classy. And the hat is a hoot--very 30s, very Tracy. Just what I'd expect in the way of a protest--didn't she wear funeral garb to Alan's wedding to Lucy Coe as well? Gotta love TQ. ETA: LMFAO!!! I just noticed the flask. Gawd, I love Tracy Quartermaine. Mid-Morning ETA: Gawd, I need Prozac. I just posted a very negative, horrible, evil, terrible, GET-ME-BACK-ON-MY-MEDS spoiler speculation over at www.jane-elliot.com/forum/. I'm serious, it's too gruesome to believe. Do not read if you're trying to stay positive. But if you're brave enough to read my worst-case scenario, please go there and talk some sense into me. I would post it here, but there's no way to hide it from people who don't want to read it.
  18. HUMONGOUS SPOILERS from the NY Daily News > > Luke & Laura get hitched - with a hitch By CAROLYN HINSEY Anthony Geary and Genie Francis in episode of 'General Hospital.' Luke and Laura get remarried next week on "General Hospital," but this time won't be "happily ever after," either. "It's quite romantic," says Anthony Geary, still playing the trouble-prone Luke. "We shot it on location at the Arboretum down in Pasadena. We worked about 16 hours out there." The wedding is as traditional as possible, considering that Laura has been catatonic for four years, and Luke married Tracy Quartermaine in the interim. (Sssh! Don't tell Laura.) "Lulu is the maid of honor, Lucky is the best man," says Geary, referring to the couples' kids. "Luke and Laura dance in a gazebo and go off in a carriage. It's very pretty, but it's got that underlying tragic element that makes soap operas so appealing." Indeed, Laura is slipping back into catatonia, so Luke is desperately trying to keep her from finding out that the wedding isn't legal. "It gets addressed shortly after because Luke can lie to everybody else, but he can't lie to Tracy," says Geary. "He needs her cooperation in order to pull off this wedding. Otherwise, he's going to be arrested for bigamy and/or have to go to the Dominican Republic to get a quicky divorce from Tracy. So, being the smart guy he is, he's playing two sides against the middle." Which works for a little while, but then ... "Laura starts to slip before the wedding and then during the wedding," says Geary. "He realizes that the time is short. He doesn't want to waste a lot of time with explanations and apologies, and he wants to maximize her time with the kids. So he decides in great anti-hero fashion not to tell her or the kids anything. Let them believe she's back forever, and that he's divorced and a free man." Enter their old enemy, Helena Cassadine. "That old [!@#$%^&*] is still lurking around with her curse, which has lasted 25 years," reminds Geary. "She intimates to Laura that this whole thing is going to slip through her fingers. So, on their wedding night and when they go back to the hotel about to have their toast and hopefully go to bed, Laura says, 'I want you to tell me the truth.'" Which Luke finally does. "He's forced into telling her that it's a temporary situation," says Geary, adding that the scenes are hearbreaking. "I've always said about Genie Francis that all she wants to do as an actress is unzip her heart and bleed for you. And she does it better than anybody. I get to go places with her that I haven't been to since the old days." He confesses that they talked about the old days between taping. "She reminded me of the days when we first worked," he says. "Gloria [Monty, former executive producer] found us three hours after we finished work sitting on the set one day talking and said, 'What are you kids doing? Go home!' We said, 'We'd rather be here. This is more real than our lives.' We were ruminating on the fact that we have lives now. She has a family and a husband and a life. And I have Amsterdam and a life. We're not so obsessed with the work - and I think the work is better for it." /END SPOILERS BEGIN SPECULATION
  19. Tracy's Old Time Gospel Hour and Bacchanalia in the Break Room. Revelers Welcome!
  20. I am grumpy, cranky, miserable and several other Dwarves. Glad there was new RegencyFic. Wish Tracy would be on today. Need about twenty years of sleep and a double-dose of Prozac. Otherwise, life is swellegant.

  24. I couldn't agree more, Marland. And since turnabout is fair play, I must admit that Robin/Skye has never looked more radiant than she has in the last few days....
  25. Revisionist History and Tracy Quartermaine Tracy: You have no idea what I noticed. Luke: I wish I would have known back then. These two lines (I'm quoting from memory, here) have pretty much sent shockwaves through GH fandom. LnL fans are freaking out, because in one proverbial stroke of the pen, GuzCo have struck a blow to the whole Luke & Laura Mystique by daring to suggest that Tracy might have drawn Luke's eye away from Laura. LuNacy fans are doing the Limbo Rock at the mere suggestion. And those who like both are scratching their heads and screaming, "HUH?" I've been thinking a lot about those two lines, because, well, that's what I do. I'm going back in my mind's eye to Luke and Tracy, circa 1978. Luke was a bad-a@@ punk, managing a mob-run disco for Mitch Williams. Tracy was a spoiled (and broke) divorced heiress, forced into marriage with Mitch Williams because Daddy controlled the purse strings and wouldn't give her a dime unless she remarried. Luke met Laura because his sister wanted her out of the way (Bobbie was in love with a man who loved Laura, if my memory serves me.) Luke fell for Laura because she was so sweet and innocent and perky and blonde. Tracy was married, but her husband cheated on her openly. She turned her attention to destroying Monica and getting her son Ned set up as the rightful heir to ELQ. It's definite they would have known each other, at least casually, through Luke's employment by Mitch. Tracy was the boss's wife, even if she was the same age as Luke. Okay, premise set. Now, back to yesterday's episode. Consider Luke's expression when he said his line about not thinking Tracy paid attention. He looked away, his voice lowered, and there was an almost sullen characteristic to his tone. He sounded for all the world like a boy from the wrong side of the tracks talking to the rich private school girl--why would a girl like you ever notice a punk like me? Not an ANGEL like you notice a DEVIL like me. Just a class thing--she's wealthy, he's poor. She was educated in the finest school, he learned his lessons on the street. He would never have considered her as an option at all, because, unlike Laura, she's not an angel. She wasn't out to rescue anyone but herself. It NEVER occurred to Luke, ever, that Tracy had feelings for him, or that she ever could. Until that moment, it never occurred to him that it was even possible. And he was stunned by her words. I don't think that he was saying he wishes he could have gone back and changed what happened with Laura. I think he wishes he'd known back then that he'd had options, that he was worthy of more than just being rescued. We talk alot about Tracy's low self-esteem, but we rarely examine Luke's. In light of this, think back to how Luke talks about himself. Think about how he says he has no soul, how he's nothing without Laura, how he's a lousy parent, how he's a punk. Tracy sees his worth, just as Laura did, but Luke doesn't see it at all. Back to revisionist history--how could Tracy possibly have felt anything for Luke back then? Oh, ya'll, Tracy feels things ALL THE TIME that she doesn't act upon. Back then, she was under Daddy's thumb, and needed a husband to get back on her feet. Luke would have not even been a remote possibility--Daddy would never have accepted him, and she would have been (possibly) deliriously happy but broke. As much as we love her, Tracy does have a shallow streak when it comes to money. She wouldn't have risked millions even for a guy with a cute smile and the potential for extreme sexual gratification. She might have risked an affair, but never an outright relatinoship. Luke, on the other hand, was taken with the potential for redemption by Laura. Even though he might have been tempted by a fling with the boss's rich [!@#$%^&*] wife, he wouldn't have risked his relationship with Laura for it. Especially when he knew in his heart that Tracy would never think of him as anything more than the guy she was slumming with. So, yeah, it could have happened. They could have been attracted to each other 25 years ago, easily. But nothing ever would have come of it. Now, 25 years later, Luke has had his redemption and found he didn't really like being a redeemed guy. He's been respectable, and it bored him. He's happily regressed into his punk state, and found to his amazement that rich [!@#$%^&*] Tracy, who is so no longer impressed by Daddy's authority, is perfectly fine with him as a punk. Twenty-five years ago, LuNacy would have been a two week mistake that both of them regretted. Now LuNacy is a viable possibility, because both characters have grown enough to accept themselves as they are and to reject the fear of what other people think. They're not thirty anymore. They're sixty. And they are too old and weather-beaten to panic about what society would think of them as a couple. They want happiness now. They can get money. They can get status. But happiness has eluded them long enough. So, L&L fans, I understand that Luke will always love Laura. Tracy understands that, too. But love is not always enough. Luke isn't the same guy who needed Laura's rescuing, and Laura is a grown woman, not an ingenue who needs to be saved. In order for a relationship to work in the real world, you have to fit, you have to match. And LuNacy, imho, is a perfect fit.
