  1. I'm pretty happy that Charity never really came back because she annoyed the hell out of me. Despite the fact that she was suppose to be this all powerful being she came across as so weak to me. I remember rolling my eyes at how she had to play the lead part in the play because her mother died. Grace always acted as if she loved Charity more than her own daughters.

Speaking of the Bennett daughters, I remember one Jessica always shilling out Mark cosmetics. I really hated her disgusting boyfriend Spike.

It felt as if that mess went on forever.

Everything on Passions went on forever.

  2. I'm glad Patrick won. It would be frustrating to come in 2nd for a third time in a row.

All 3 U.S. men did well even if they didn't get 3 spots for next years Worlds. As talented as Jeremy and Adam are, I don't think sending them instead of Richard and Ross would have made a difference. The issue of who should have been sends to Worlds has been blown out of proportion.

Happy for White/Davis for winning and for the Shibutani for medaling at their first World championships. Yankowskas and Coughlin show promise for pairs. Even Alissa impressed my by not completely screwing up.

  3. Anyone else here watching or at least keeping up with the World Championships? I don't have the money to shell out for internet feed and I don't have NBC Universal so I have to keep up on the boards and what not.

After the horrible year he's had I'm glad that Nobunari Oda is doing well so far. Hopefully he can have a great free skate. The US men aren't doing to bad considering. There less than a point away from each other.

Here's a link to the standings if anyone is interested http://www.isuresult...results/wc2011/

  4. I was looking in an old Digest from 1982 and they said that Y&R wanted to have Nikki as a mud wrestler, but the censors said that would be too sleazy, so she became a stripper.

I'm trying to picture Victor watching Nikki mud wrestle instead of stripping.

Don't let Rauch or Hogan find out about this. They'll honor history by having Sharon be a mud wrestler.

  5. Did anyone else watch the nationals? Such a disappointing event for some of the favorites.

I was hoping that Mirai would win and go to worlds but it was not to happen. I know most think Alissa's no longer the choker she was but I think she'll bomb at worlds. At least her nationals win was deserved this time. It's sad about Caroline Zhang. She was suppose to be the heir apparent to American ladies skating.

The same could not be said for Ryan Bradley. He really should not have won the title. It's a shame that Jeremy Abbott, Brandon Mroz, and Adam Rippon couldn't make it on the podium. Both Dornbush and Miner have good careers ahead of them.

  6. Back when Ryan had more of an edge, and before he started with the "I'm balding, OK?" haircuts.

It's so tough for a soap to create good leading men. It's a shame JFP so happily threw PMV away.

I've heard a rumor that the reason JFP killed Ryan Harrison off was because she didn't like him with Vicky.

  7. Very un-Holly J like, maybe more Naturally Sadie (hope to God someone gets that reference, LoL)

I loved Naturally Sadie when it showed on the Disney Channel! I have the unpopular opinion of liking it better in season 1 than season 2; hated it when they practically changed everything that made Sadie unique.

  8. What did you think of the women's side, lovely_m?

    • I expected these Worlds to be a little on the WTF side and they didn't disappoint.
    • I was really hoping that Mirai Nagasu would have pulled off the win, but if this helps her in the long run then I'm okay with it. I would hate for her to be like Kimmie Messiner and have everything go downhill.
    • Rachel Flatt's skating has a lot to be desired on the artistic side, but if her coaches make programs catered to her strengths (more on the power program side rather than pretty-pretty) then she should be okay.
    • Happy that Mao was able to pull off the win here. She seemed so disappointed after her free skate at Vancouver.
    • Yu-Na's meltdown was completely unexpected. Then again, I'm shocked she showed up in the first place. If she came back to win it, it would not have been a surprise.
    • Being a bad skating fan I have yet to see Laura Lepisto skate, but I haven't heard much good about her. Mainly people thinking she's being over scored, same criticism I've heard about Kostner.
    • I really wished the Japanese Federation would have let Yukari Nakano go to Worlds. Like the let Takahasi go to the Olympics and send Nobunari to Worlds.

  9. From what I heard the men's competition was a splatfest save for a few. The only 2 people I watched skate were Michal Brezina and Daisuke Takahasi. I thought that if Evan had competed he could have won a medal, maybe even defend his title.

Brain Joubert must be happier with his bronze medal this year than last year.

Out of the up and coming skaters, Michal Brezina is my favorite. If his career doesn't go the way Tomas Verner he should be okay. Patrick Chan should be a force in the next four years and Takahiko Kozuka should also be a contender. For the U.S, Adam Rippon and Brandon Mroz will probably end up being the top names.

I wonder how many people are going to end up retiring after this season? I'm thinking these people will retire soon or in two years: Lambiel, Lysacek, Weir, Abbott, Oda, Takahasi, Joubert, Verner, Contesti, and Van Der Perren.
