Thanks.
The last I remember hearing or seeing about her was when she placed so low at the 2008 Worlds.
She placed low at nationals so she didn't qualify for 2008 Worlds.

What ever happened to Kimmi Messiner? With skating not being on TV as much as it used to be I don't keep up with it like I used to.
She won the world title in 2006.
Was the national champion in 2007.
Finished 4th at the world championships in 2007.
She placed 7th at the national championships in 2008.
Had to withdraw because of injuries.
She was suppose to compete at Rostelecom Cup and at NHK Trophey, but had to withdraw from the national championships. Because of her withdrawals she didn't receive a bye to nationals. Unfortunately she was too late to register to compete at regional championships.
I hope that helps. In 2005 she was suppose to be the heir apparent to Michelle and Sasha, but outside of a lucky break at worlds 2006 she hasn't lived up to that hype.
Since Sasha Cohen retired the U.S hasn't had a dominate lady. No lady has won a national title twice since Michelle Kwan.

I am surprised to see Kim Yu-Na so low on the list but I'm guessing she wasn't been able to train like she would like since the Olympics and all the pressure that goes along with that. Yeah for Mirai! She is one to watch for in 2014!
I hope that Mirai fares better in 4 years than Kimmi Messiner did.

Here are the results from the Ladies' short program:
- Mirai Nagasu
- Mao Asada
- Laura Lepisito
- Carolina Kostner
- Ksenia Makarova
- Rachel Flatt
- Kim Yu-Na
- Cynthia Phanuef
- Viktoria Helgesson
- Julia Sebestyn
- Miki Ando
The Ice Dance Results:
Gold: Tessa Virtue/Scott Moir
Silver Charlie White/ Meryl Davis
Bronze: Frederica Faiella/ Massimo Scali
Davis/White won the free dance but it wasn't enough to overtake Virtue/Moir for the title.

The World Figure Skating Championships begin on March 21-March 28.
I would love to see someone beat Plushenko without a quad.
Hopefully Jeremy Abbott, Ryan Bradley, and Matt Sovie/Tim Goebel love child Adam Rippon do well at these world championships. It's sad to see on era come to an end, but it's exciting to see new stars coming. During the olympic year we get a suprise champ (Kimmy Messiner WTF) that doesn't impact the skating world in the next 4 years.

When is the skating of champions on??
They already started. Evan, Evgeni, Yu-Na, and Joannie have already skated at least.
0 -
If Evan still wants to skate, he can try to win a gold medal in pairs.

Apparnetly not everyone thought Evan deserved to win, http://sports.yahoo....=yhoo&type=lgns.
Mishin felt the same way http://sports.yahoo....=yhoo&type=lgns. Plushenko's a sore loser to boot. he called Evan "not a real champion".
I understand that Mishin feels this way, but Elvis's reaction suprised me. Figure skating needs to be a complete package and not just based on who can do a quad. This also goes the other way around too. I remember being infuriated when Jefferey Buttle would score high at events based on his artistry, but he couldn't jump to save his life.

The Evan look alike contest, let me play!

Weird random historical question--when did actual figures--those boring, har dto do shapes they had to carve into the ice, stop being compulsory (or even done...)? In the 80s?
They were eliminated after the 1990 season.

Yup...Abbott was the US champion correct?? Who was second? Was it Evan Lysacek?? He was great tonight.
Abbott won the US title, Evan finished second and Johnny finished third.

Yeah his scores sucked and poor Jeremy Abbott fell apart.
I had a feeling Jeremy would fall apart. He can try to redeem himself in the long.

Thought Evan Lysacek looked good on Leno - he would be good on a soap.
When I first watched Everwood, I thought that the guy playing Reed (who is now on the Bold and the Beautiful) and Evan looked a lot alike.

I like Mirai Nagasu – however I don't like the nasty stuff some have posted on other boards about Rachael Flat.
That's too bad. I can't go to fs boards anymore because of some of the terrible things posters have said about some skaters.
Did anyone read this about Johnny Weir: http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/news?slug=ap-weir-fur&prov=ap&type=lgns
I wonder if they asked Evan not to wear feathers on his costume.

I did.
Sasha Cohen should have just stayed happy with her Olympic Silver Metal, she just embarrassed herself tonight....
Is anyone suprised? Before there was Alissa Czisny there was perennial choker Sasha Cohen. My mother should be happy, she hates her. I had read articles saying she proved her doubters wrong.
Congrats to Rachel and Mirai.
I'm also happy Beatrise Liang was able to move up.
Who wants a pewter medal? It's a consolation prize and then to be on the podium with the people who did medal is just rough.

If Timothy Gable (maybe even Matt Savoie) had a mini me, Adam Rippon would be it.
I needed to get that off my chest.

I can't believe how low Caroline Zhang is. She was toted as the next big thing in U.S women's figure skating.

Here's someone who got a lot of hype for his performances earlier in the year
http://www.youtube.c...h?v=CuvLcQs-iuM
Here's Ryan Bradley's 2009 Nationals Free Skate. He beat both Evan Lysacek and Johnny Weir in the free skate. Unfortunately his score was so low in the short program it wasn't enough to put him on the olympic team.

I am torn between Jeremy or Evan to win at the Olympics.
I like them both and Johnny Weir, but I'm rooting for Evan.
For the Olympics I think the event to look forward to for us USA fans is the Men's and Ice Dancing Competitions.
I agree, but unfortunately the ladies will be center stage.
As horrible as it sounds, I hope Alissa Czisny doesn't make the team. She makes Sasha Cohen and Emanuel Sandu look consistent.

I just watched both season in like 2 weeks. LOL
Raj and Howard are the best and funniest on the show. Simon Helberg is such a brilliant comedic actor and he's very good with impressions too. I think the funniest moment from the show so far was when Howard pretended to Raj by doing the accent.
I know Jim Parsons is the one who always gets the praise, but I think Simon deserves the most recognition. The stuff he does on the show is far superior/funny.
Didn't you love how Lenoard's mother made the suggestion that Raj and Howard are a homosexual couple.
What makes Sheldon great are the reactions that his behavior gets (mostly from Penny and Leonard) from the rest of the gang. I really all the cast members, even the recurring players like Howard's mother and Barry Kripke (Raj: what part of the country is that accent from? In regards to Barry's rhotacism)
I wish they had let Penny be in a relationship with Carl for before having her realize she has feelings for Leonard. I also wish they had kept Dr. Stephanie a little longer. Maybe I'm in the minority but Leonard/Penny does nothing for me. It's only funny when he's pinning for her instead of dating her.

Oh that's right! I forgot that Mirai Nagasu, Rachel Flatt, and Caroline Zhang were all to young to go to worlds that year.
