  1. Was it a good thing or bad that I was sick and had to stay home from work. Was able to watch parts of the mens final but was not able to really focus. But that point late in the 3rd set has to be one of the best, if not the best point that I have ever seen.

  2. You know the pressure will be on her more to win The Aussie Open In January. She shouldnt let the pressure get to her because she is now a grand slam champion.

I always wondered why she wasn't doing better in singles. I would see her playing doubles and winning and thought she'd be great in singles. Why isnt she doing good. Glad my impressions of her doing well in singles came true. I really enjoy her game and matches. Most of the female players are boring to watch and all they do is scream during each point.

I wish they would ban all the [!@#$%^&*] screeching during the points...its so annoying and not needed by the women players.

Yes there will be a lot of pressure on Sam to win the Aust Open, as there will be with other Aussie players. But mainly Sam as she is now a Grand Slam winner. The same pressure was on both Rafter & Hewitt as well.

All this grunting has gotten me to the point where I watch the tennis with the sound down or muted all together.

  3. Yay Sammy, didn't choke. Got to see the last game here, had the live scoreboard up in the back ground of my compter here at work.

Well done to Sam Stosur, 6-2 6-3

Sorry, but I do think that it was a little rude of the William's camp not to appauld after the match. It is like one of them makes the final they are expected to win.

  4. Women's final pushed to Sunday at 4pm. And Men's final pushed to Monday at 4pm - I won't be able to watch it. sad.png Damn Louis Armstrong Stadium!!!

Nadal is so lucky to get the extra day off now.

Yep that makes the Woman's final 6.00 am my time on Monday Morning. If Sam makes it into the final will have to watch via the computer, unless one of the free to air channels are going to be showing it, then I would be able to turn the TV in the conference room om and take the occassional look in.

  5. If there is one thing that really peeve's me off when watching a sport of any sort is bias commentary.

It is like there is only one person on the court or one team out on the ground/field, and 9 times out of 10 it is the other side lol.

They go on about what they need to do better what part of their game they need to pick up and I would scream at the TV hey what about my side and how they are going. Which is most proberly the reason why I would prefer to watch Tennis matches that involve Aussie's with no sound on.

  6. They pimp Fish because he's American lol. The American Tennis Media for 15 years were used to having two Americans in the top 5 winning grand slam after grand slam (Agassi and Sampras). The, Roddick came along and looked to be the next best thing... well he tanked, is now out of the top 20 and Fish has been consistent enough to get a top 10 ranking. Its no surprise he's focused on alot, at the US Open.

The media does the same thing here when the Australian Open is on.

Australian hopes rest on the shoulders of insert name here to become the first mens/womens winner since whom ever it was.

  7. I knew Fish was going to lose. Gawd..they sure love to pimp him a lot. It makes me sick since he hasnt accomplished squat.

Loving the women's match tonight on ESPN2.

    Go John Isner!!

    Btw..great tiebreaker with Djokovic

Some times it really does suck being at work lol. Even with the Aust Open.

But at the moment we have a great boss that lets us have the TV on in the Conference Room during our summer as long as there are no meetings lol.

But he is retiring about Jan of next year so we will need to train a new boss lol.

  8. Here you go.

Cash & Edberg are in the upper part of the court.

I do have a couple where they were closer, but they weren't with this lot. I also have one of Steffie Graf from the nose bleed section of centre court but not exactly sure where that one is either.

  9. Please post if you can...

    And here it is

I will do that if I can find a scanner that scan the photos as a .jpg, as all the ones at work scan things as a .pdf, but I can always save to my photo bucket account if that is the case.

  10. grigor-dimitrov-face-geneva.jpg

Got to love this guy for kissing Monfis in the lips after the match. Good looking guy and not a bad player.

    Yep that you do.

Thanks for the reminder, I had forgotten that it started yesterday for me.

Found some old photos that I took at the Aust Open some many years ago. If I remember correctly it was Pat Cash & Stefan Edberg playing doubles.

  11. That happens to me with the US Open. I'm back at work when the tournament starts so I have to tape it. I was lucky to see all of Wimbledon. I was glad Novak won. I was pulling for him. I am not a Nadal fan. I just dont care for his game. I was hoping either Berdych or Del Po won but I do like Novak.

I think the commentators make Murray better than he is. His game is ok. I just don't see him beating the top 3 to win a major. His semifinal loses are going the same route as Henman's did. I think for Murray it is all mental. I still dont think he has the game to win a major but his mental block doesnt help either.

    Cool

I've always wanted to go Wimbledon and my dream is the US Open.

The commentators in Australia do the same, rev up our Aussie player's in the Aust Open.

Would love to go to the US open one year.

Glad that the Aussies won the Junior title's, maybe we have some up and coming players.

  12. Yes it is. It's good to see you posting here Adam. It usually just me, Toups and SnCCorinthos4ever posting here. Glad to see Quartermainefan posting here too.

I am hoping to make it to the Aust Open next year, either the 1st or 2nd day. Maybe both.

  13. Here is a couple of photo's of the players.

Richard Gasquet, right, shakes hands after defeating Italy's Simone Bolelli.

Tomas Berdych takes it easy and is caught cracking a smile during his match against Alex Bogomolov Jr.

    713441-britain-wimbledon-tennis.jpg

Berdych cuts it short and his dropshot clips the net as it falls and lands in Bogomolov Jr's side of the court.

Another WHAT THE outfit, but at least it's only the jacket.

I have always had a question about tennis players. With the way that they grunt on the tennis court, how would they sound in the bedroom? Would they be the loudest or would it be the ones that don't grunt?

  14. Nadal has Berdych in his quarter. Murray has Roddick in his quarter and Federer has Nalbandian in his way.. Djokovic has Soderling in his quarter.

If Wozniacki is going to win Wimbledon she will have to beat Serena Williams who is on her side of the draw.

Isner wasn't too happy to get Mahut again. He was joking to Mahut about them playing again in the first round and it happened...lol

It should be an interesting Wimbledon.

Isner & Mahut were going to be practicing buddies until the draw lol.

They showed that part of the draw and the officials were having a bit of a giggle.
