  4. After airing just four episodes, NBC announced on Tuesday that its freshman drama series “Grosse Pointe Garden Society” will be moving from Sunday nights to Fridays at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT, beginning Friday, April 4. The series follows four members of a suburban garden club who find their lives intertwined by scandal, mischief and a shared secret – a murder no one wants to talk about. As dark truths begin to rot their lives under the surface, they struggle to remain as perfect as the flowers blooming in their garden above. Episodes five and six are set to continue airing on Sunday nights for the remainder of the month (March 23 and March 30 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT) with the seventh episode serving as the first in the show’s new timeslot. “Dateline NBC” will replace the series on Sundays beginning Sunday, April 6. 5. Earlier this month, “Days of our Lives” breakdown writer Jamey Giddens announced that he is departing the daytime drama series to join “Beyond the Gates” in the same capacity. What was not clear at the time was his status as a writer for “Tyler Perry’s Sistas.” In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Giddens revealed that he has completed his two-season run at the BET original series, with the most recent season, the show’s eighth, seeing him elevated to head writer. “Welp. My work here is quite literally done. Tonight’s episode marks the end of my time at @SistasOnBET,” said Giddens in his post immediately following the airing of the show’s final episode from Season 8 last week. “Immense thanks to [series creator] Tyler Perry and [producer] Mark Swinton for the incredible opportunity and CONGRATULATIONS to the cast and crew on the Season 9 RENEWAL!!” “Major props to Lucien Christian Adderley @LucienChristian (who’s taking a social media break for Lent) & Richard ‘Byrd’ Wilson, who wrote tonight’s finale of #SistasOnBET,” continued Giddens in a separate post, adding, “A shout out to my writers team. We had half the size of a writers team for a typical 22-episode, hour-long drama and delivered those scripts on a 10-week deadline (with two strikes looming) for Season 7, and then did it again for 8.” “Tyler Perry’s Sistas” BET “Tyler Perry’s Sistas” was recently renewed for a ninth season by the network, and is set to premiere Wednesday, July 16 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. No word yet on who will be taking over as the show’s head writer following Giddens’ exit. The series follows a tight-knit group of accomplished and relatable women as they navigate the complexities of love, career, and friendship in the modern world, with Season 9 promising even more emotional depth, unexpected revelations, and powerful narratives that have made the show a fan favorite. In the Season 8 finale, Andi (KJ Smith) must decide whether or not she wants to make things work with Robin (Austin Scott) before he possibly walks out of her life forever. Sabrina (Novi Brown) finally gets closure from an old lover on the heels of having to decide what to do with her and Rich (Monti Washington). Meanwhile, the outcome of Danni’s (Mignon) lawsuit threatens her and Tony’s (Branden Wellington) future. Karen (Ebony Obsidian) and Fatima (Crystal Renee’ Hayslett) become closer than they ever imagined. And Gary’s (Chido Nwokocha) investigation comes to a head with shocking revelations. The series cast includes KJ Smith, Mignon, Ebony Obsidian, Novi Brown, Crystal Renee’ Hayslett, Devale Ellis, Chido Nwokocha, Brian Jordan Jr., Angela “Angie” Beyincé, Branden Wellington and Kevin A. Walton, among others. According to BET, the series was the No. 1 show on all of television among Black viewers aged 18-49 in 2024, additionally, it is the No. 1 scripted series on cable among Black viewers overall. All episodes of the show’s current and previous seasons can be streamed exclusively on BET+. 6. Donna, You're assumption about a character's history, particularly their alleged involvement in abuse is fan speculation and is not based in fact. You are entitled to your opinion, and so are others. Unlike the other four soaps, those who might claim to have inside info about Beyond the Gates or spoilers relating to the show are liars as the show does not have leaks like the other four do, which proves even more that there is no indication of what you are assessing as a character trait for Bill Hamilton character.
  7. The third and final season of “Bosch: Legacy,” featuring 10 all-new episodes of the hit series, is set to release Thursday, March 27 on Prime Video, and will see ‘The Young and the Restless” alum Miles Gaston Villanueva (ex-Luca Santori) joining the cast as Det. Perry Lopez. According to a description released by Variety, the character is a native Angeleno with a background in working gang murders in South Los Angeles. Recently elevated to the LAPD’s elite Robbery Homicide Division (RHD), and eager to make a name for himself, Lopez is partnered with the seasoned Det. Jimmy Robertson (Paul Calderon) as they are tasked to investigate Harry Bosch (Titus Welliver) in a possible murder-for-hire case. From September 16, 2015-September 9, 2016, Villanueva portrayed Luca Santori on “The Young and the Restless,” the estranged husband of Marisa Sierras (Sofia Pernas). The character was described as a charming and mysterious Spanish prince from a wealthy family. Since exiting “The Young and the Restless,” Villanueva has gone on to appear in such shows as “Jane the Virgin,” “Rosewood,” “The Fosters,” and “For The People.” He also had a starring role in the limited series “Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders,” focusing on the Menendez brothers and the murder of their parents. He portrayed the elder brother, Lyle Menendez. In 2019, Villanueva was cast as Dr. Alec Shaw on “The Resident,” and later played the role of Owen over seven episodes of “Nancy Drew.” By 2022, Villanueva appeared as Supersonic, one of the newest members of The Seven, in at least four episodes of Prime Video’s “The Boys.” In season three of “Bosch: Legacy,” which is based on Michael Connelly’s best-selling novels “Desert Star” (2022) and “The Black Ice” (1993), an investigation into the murder of Kurt Dockweiler (David Denman) brings dangerous secrets to light and threatens to ruin the lives of our three principal characters. Also, the disappearance of a family haunts Harry Bosch, forcing him to confront the limits of justice. In a hotly contested race, Honey “Money” Chandler (Mimi Rogers), an attorney who struggles to maintain her faith in the justice system, is poised to become the next District Attorney of Los Angeles. Meanwhile, Maddie Bosch (Madison Lintz) gets entangled in a series of violent follow-home robberies as she wrestles with the challenges of being a patrol cop on the streets of Los Angeles. “Bosch: Legacy” is a spinoff of “Bosch,” the then Amazon Prime Video original that ran for seven seasons from 2014-2021, marking a key milestone for the streamer as its longest-running series to date. The spinoff was originally set to launch on IMDb TV, Amazon’s FAST (free ad-supported television) service before being rebranded to Amazon Freevee. The first season launched on May 6, 2022, while season two premiered on October 20, 2023, and saw episodes available on both Amazon Freevee and Prime Video. Last fall, Amazon announced that it would discontinue Amazon Freevee and that all its content would be available on Prime Video at no cost for non-subscribers. 8. “The Bold and the Beautiful” star Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy Forrester) announced in a newsletter post that she is pregnant with her fifth child with husband Elan Ruspoli. “I’m almost 7 months pregnant! Our family is beyond excited, and my kids are over the moon,” said Wood in her post published on Monday. “It’s such a special time in our home—so much love, energy, and anticipation!” In August 2023, the couple welcomed their fourth child, a boy named they Valor James, who joins older brothers Rise (born March 2019), Lenix (born February 2021) and Brando (born May 2022). “Continuing to work out—so grateful I focused on building strength before pregnancy! It’s made carrying my kids and performing emotional scenes much easier,” noted Wood about the experience. Earlier in the newsletter, Wood revealed that and the family had recently returned from a trip to San Diego where they visited Fox Point Farm in Encinitas. “It’s a beautiful farm-to-table restaurant with a play area for the kids, animals, a big open field to run around in, and an adorable organic grocery store. It was the perfect place for a little reset and some fresh air!” she said. As for her ability to balance motherhood and work on the daytime drama series, Wood shared, “I’ve been deep into filming some intense storylines on ‘The Bold and the Beautiful,’ which has me burning the candle at both ends. Between work, traveling, and keeping up with my kids, prioritizing my health is absolutely essential.” While she did not unveil the sex of the baby, particularly whether it’s a girl considering Wood and her husband Elan already have four boys, she previously told Michael Fairman TV the couple had always wanted a big family, considering she was technically an only child as her half-sister is 20 years older than her, and he is an only child. “We are now diving into this big family, and it’s so cool. We never got that. So, it’s really exciting,” said Wood in the June 2023 interview. Considering how far she is into pregnancy don’t look for the show to write her status into the show’s storylines. 10. In the months since exiting “General Hospital,” actress Kelly Monaco (ex-Sam McCall) has been relatively quiet on social media. That changed recently when she announced she would host a brand-new podcast series with long-time friend Shanna Moakler, titled “Bad Bunnies,” a reference to their time as Playboy playmates. “Buckle up, Bunnies… Kelly Monaco & @shannamoakler are teaming up for a brand-new podcast, BAD BUNNIES!” said Monaco in a post on Instagram announcing the new project. “Unfiltered. Untamed. Unapologetic. We’re bringing you Hollywood secrets, wild stories, pop culture tea, and real talk—nothing is off-limits! “But before we drop our first episode, we want to hear from YOU! What topics do you want us to spill on? Reality TV chaos? Dating disasters? Hollywood drama? Let us know in the comments! Tag your besties & get ready—BAD BUNNIES is coming SOON!” Responding to Monaco’s “big announcement,” former co-star Kate Mansi (Kristina Davis) commented, “Ok sis,” and used the crossing fingers emoji as a sign of support. Similarly, former “General Hospital” cast member Michael Easton (ex-Hamilton Finn) said, “Congratulations,” emphasizing the message with a fire emoji. Meanwhile, both Brandon Barash (ex-Johnny Zacchara, “General Hospital”; ex-Stefan DiMera, “Days of our Lives”) and “Dancing with the Stars” alum Maksim Chmerkovskiy used the clapping hands emoji as a means to wish the two luck on their new endeavor. The “Bad Bunnies” name appears to be a derivative of Monaco’s experience in being named Playboy magazine’s Playmate of the Month in April 1997 while Moakler held the title in December 2001. An actress known for her starring role in the USA Network original series “Pacific Blue,” and roles on such shows as “Due South,” “Joey,” “Jake in Progress,” “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “NCIS,” “The Glades” and “The Goldbergs,” among others, Moakler has appeared in such memorable films as “The Wedding Singer,” “Timecop” and “Big Momma’s House 2,” among others. In 1995, Moakler represented the state of New York as the first runner-up during the Miss USA contest. She has three children, a daughter named Atiana, from her relationship with ex-fiancé Oscar De La Hoya, a son, Landon, and a daughter, Alabama, with her ex-husband, Travis Barker. Last August, Soap Opera Network first broke the news that Monaco had been let go from “General Hospital” after a nearly 21-year run, with the show deciding to “terminate” Monaco’s character off the show. The following month, Monaco taped her final episodes, with a video of her final day on set going viral in mid-November. In it, the actress could be seen holding back tears as she thanked the show’s cast and crew for the “experience that I’ll take with me for the rest of my life.” Monaco joined the cast of “General Hospital” in October 2001 immediately following her run as Livvie Locke on “Port Charles,” a spinoff of the iconic drama series. During the summer of 2005, she competed on “Dancing with the Stars,” becoming the first winner of the Mirror Ball trophy. Nominated for two Daytime Emmy Awards throughout her career, the first of which came in 2003 in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Livvie on “Port Charles,” and again in 2006 for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her performance as Sam on “General Hospital,” Monaco also appeared in episodes of such shows as “Baby Daddy,” “Football Wives,” “Spin City” and “Baywatch,” among others. No word yet on when the podcast is set to debut. In the meantime, check out a teaser trailer below. 11. Those are just screenshots from the promo that was previously posted for this week. SOD doesn't have anything more on BTG than anyone else.
  12. The episode Pratt might appear in (nothing is officially confirmed yet) airs on April 24, which is the first of three episodes that will feature Lauralee Bell. Based on Bell's appearance centering on Christine being around for the latest fashion show on the soap, it's likely this is the same type of cameo the show gave to Kate Linder and Marie Osmond.
  13. On Sunday, “General Hospital” star Eva LaRue (Natalia Rogers-Ramirez) sent fans of the daytime drama series into a tizzy when she shared a photo of herself, newcomer Adrian Anchondo (Marco) and former on screen daughter Jacqueline Grace Lopez (ex-Blaze/Alison Rogers) in the hair/make-up room, likely taken a few days earlier. In the caption for a joint post she made on Instagram with Lopez, LaRue said, “Mi #GeneralHospital Familia,” which translates to “My ‘General Hospital’ Family.” Further, she used the hashtag “mykids,” which seemingly confirms that Anchondo is playing Natalia’s son, Eloi Marco, which fans had suspected ever since it was announced last week that the actor had joined the cast as a contract player. During his debut episode on Thursday, March 13, Marco reveals himself as an attorney working for Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) after his meeting Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) at the Savoy, which saw the pair sharing an intimate kiss. Meanwhile, last month, it was revealed that Sidwell and Natalia were once married, with indications that their children are Eloi (Marco) and Alison. Responding to LaRue’s post, Lopez said, “MAMA! Omg this fills my heart w so much love. Love you forever! And welcome to ‘GH’ @javichondo!” She added, “Te vas a brillar!” in her message to Anchondo, which translates to “You’re going to shine.” Although it was unknown at press time why Lopez was back on the show’s set, there are currently no indications that she’s returning to the series. She exited the series in August 2024. Ironically, should Marco turn out to be Eloi after all, it would mean that both of Natalia’s children identify as gay, something that was a sticking point for the character when she debuted last year and had caused a rift between Alison/Blaze and girlfriend Kristina Davis (Kate Mansi). Check out LaRue and Lopez’ Instagram post below. 14. As previously reported, actor Billy Flynn is exiting “Days of our Lives,” where he has played Chad DiMera on the daytime drama series for more than ten years, to join the cast of “The Young and the Restless” where he’ll portray a newly created character. In a new interview with Variety, Flynn told the outlet, “I love acting, and I love stories, and I never imagined I would just tell one story for the rest of my life,” referring to his long-run in Salem. “The fact that I’ve been here 10 years and it’s gone by in the blink of an eye is amazing to me. I wasn’t a baby when I started here; I was 30. I didn’t start acting until I was 26. So it’s gone by really fast. I think with this character, I’ve done everything I can with it. I’m looking forward to doing something new. I’m about to start a new journey and tell another story. It really is just that simple.” Flynn, who got married, had two kids, and bought a house during his time on “Days of our Lives,” admits that the change from one soap to another is “bittersweet,” and says, “The outpouring of well wishes and love since this came out has been humbling.” He added, “It’s been incredibly moving to me, and I’m gonna take that with me. I hope [the show’s fans] continue to watch ‘DAYS’ and support ‘DAYS’ and support whoever might come in and play Chad, if there ever is that case. I hope they do that and give somebody the same love they gave me. And I hope that they come with me on this journey that I’m on and support me doing that too.” For more on what Flynn had to say about his transition from the Burbank-based studio where “Days of our Lives” tapes to Television City studio where “The Young and the Restless” is based, click here. Flynn made his first appearance on “Days of our Lives” in the September 12, 2014 episode, replacing Casey Deidrick in the role, and quickly became a fan favorite as one half of the popular Chad and Abby (played by Kate Mansi and Marci Miller) pairing, dubbed “Chabby” by their fans. By 2019, the couple was featured in an online companion series, “Days of our Lives: Chad & Abby in Paris,” which helped expand storylines encompassing the adventures of some of the show’s most popular characters. Last month, Flynn appeared in an episode of “Matlock,” playing Atticus Waverly, an employee at a tech startup that had its trade secrets stolen. “We support Billy as an actor and friend, and wish him nothing but continued success and happiness, personally and professionally,” said “Days of our Lives” executive producer Ken Corday. “He will certainly be missed in Salem.” In a statement, “The Young and the Restless” executive producer and head writer Josh Griffith said, “On behalf of the entire company of ‘The Young and the Restless,’ we look forward to welcoming Billy to the show.” He noted, “He will be a wonderful addition to ‘Y&R’s stellar cast.” Despite joining daytime’s most popular soap opera, fans of “Days of our Lives” can expect to continue seeing Flynn in Salem for a bit longer due to the show’s advanced tape-to-air schedule, currently set at nine months, which means he’ll appear on the show well into 2026. “In a perfect world, that wouldn’t be the case,” says Flynn of the shooting schedule, adding, “only because you want people to suspend disbelief.” The actor is referring to viewers that might find it jarring to see him on two different shows on the same day, noting, “It makes my job a little harder.” No word yet on when Flynn starts taping at “The Young and the Restless.” Note: The post Billy Flynn Talks Exit From ‘Days of our Lives’, Joining ‘The Young and the Restless’ appeared first on the Soap Opera Network website. 15. Absent from “The Young and the Restless” since the show’s Thursday, January 2, 2025 episode, Lauralee Bell (Christine Blair) is set to return to Genoa City later this spring when she begins taping all-new episodes of the daytime drama series in late April, set to air in early June. In an interview with Deadline, Bell revealed that in the interim, she’ll be making a three-day return appearance on sister soap “The Bold and the Beautiful,” airing Thursday, April 24; Friday, April 25 and Monday, April 28. “You never know when Brad Bell [executive producer/head writer of ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’] calls, if I’m going to be asked a question or if I can come to ‘B&B’ for a couple of days,” Bell said to the outlet about her return, and speaking of her brother. “He established this collaboration. Years ago I represented Ridge [then played by Ronn Moss] on a court case, and then several months ago, Danny [Michael Damian] and Christine stopped in during the summer because we’re on tour and he’s the rock star. And then they used Danny’s music for a Brooke’s [Katherine Kelly Lang] bedroom lingerie line. So the tie-in continues!” Michael Damian CBS “We’ve been super lucky because so many of our ‘Y&R’ fans who have rooting for Danny and Christine to be back together after 30 years came to watch ‘B&B’ for those couple of days,” Bell continued, speaking on her second visit to “The Bold and the Beautiful.” She added, “We assume everyone who watches ‘Y&R’ watches ‘B&B,’ but for the few that didn’t, we got ‘Y&R’ people to come to watch ‘B&B.’ Our audience really showed up.” In the episodes Bell referenced, aired during the week of August 12-16, 2024, “The Bold and the Beautiful” tied “The Young and the Restless” in both the Women 18-49 and Women 25-54 key women sales demographics, each with a 0.3 rating in the former (rounded) and a 0.4 rating in the latter (rounded). At the time, in unrounded Women 18-49, the half-hour soap topped its sister series with a 0.28 rating, +0.03 ahead of “The Young and the Restless” and its 0.25 rating. Meanwhile, among Women 25-54, the two soaps were in a virtual tie with the hour-long drama averaging a 0.44 rating that particular week to the 0.42 rating for “The Bold and the Beautiful.” The two soaps also saw a bump among Total Viewers compared to the week prior. For her third appearance on “The Bold and the Beautiful,” fans can expect Bell’s character to take part in the show’s next big fashion show storyline, which will likely also include an appearance by reality TV star Spencer Pratt (see story). As for “The Young and the Restless,” Bell will be joined by Damian back in Genoa City now that Danny Romalotti’s world tour is winding down. “We are together. We are happily touring the world. I dropped everything legal to join him on this worldwide tour, and we’ll come back to Genoa City in April to start taping again,” Bell noted in her conversation with Deadline. “There’s still so much more to say and there’s still so much more story to go.” Note: The post Lauralee Bell Returns to ‘The Young and the Restless’, Visits ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ appeared first on the Soap Opera Network website. 16. In a video post shared on Instagram and TikTok, among other social media platforms, reality TV star Spencer Pratt (“The Hills”) is enticing his millions of followers to tune into the Thursday, April 24 episode of “The Bold and the Beautiful.” “BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL…Burrito tune in April 24,” read the caption of the video posts, while referencing the social channels for the daytime drama series and the show’s hashtag “boldandbeautiful.” In the video, Pratt can be seen stepping out of the Forrester mansion set’s doors, take a burrito out of the jetted pocket of his suit jacket, do a quick little dance and then take a bite out of the burrito, which has become a staple of Pratt’s recent posts on social media where he’s been highlighting the popular food item, including breakfast burritos and burritos in a bowl. The posts were highlighted by background music from the 2010 song “I’ll Do It” by Pratt’s wife, Heidi Montag, which was recently remixed with a new version featuring Pitbull after the song went viral in January following Montag and Pratt losing their family home due to the devastating Pacific Palisades fire in Los Angeles as fans showed their support for the duo. In response to Pratt’s post on Instagram, Casey Kasprzyk, supervising producer of the daytime drama series, said, “Best Day Ever!” Ashley Jones (Bridget Forrester) also replied, saying to Pratt, “You did it!!” From 2006-2010, Montag appeared in all six seasons of the MTV reality series “The Hills,” with Pratt appearing in a recurring capacity starting with the show’s second season. Montag and Pratt were married on November 20, 2008, after eloping in Mexico. The couple later held a traditional wedding ceremony on April 25, 2009, in Pasadena, California. The couple has two children, Gunner Stone Pratt and Ryker Pratt. In addition to “The Bold and the Beautiful,” look for Pratt to next appear in “Got To Get Out,” Hulu’s new social experiment and competition series from Spoke Studios that tests the loyalties of a group of strangers vying for a major payday. Actor Simu Liu hosts the new series, which sees 20 television personalities living together in a mansion for 10 days, competing for a cash prize that increases by $1 every second that they’re there. Physical and mental challenges completed throughout will add money to the pot, with a total of $1 million at stake. Participants can either stick together and take an equal share of the prize money at the end of their stay – OR they can choose to go rogue and attempt to steal the full pot of money for themselves. Watch the video of Pratt appearing on the set of “The Bold and the Beautiful” below. You can listen to the full remixed version of “I’ll Do It” ft. Pitbull below. 20. Demographically, GMA3 is generally a bomb, particularly in Women 18-49. However, it does spike a bit here and there, particularly during the week of February 10-14, 2025 when it nearly tied GH in both demos: https://www.soapoperanetwork.com/2025/02/daytime-broadcast-ratings-for-the-week-of-february-10-14-2025 That said, GH is currently a little over 400,000 viewers ahead of GMA3 in terms of Total Viewers. It should be a LOT better than that considering the cost and the overall depreciated demos for the scripted show compared to the news show. The View manages to get about 1.2 million more viewers than GMA3 at 11:00 a.m., and its demos have also seen spikes like those shown in this post. GH is not seeing ANY spikes. That's where the problem lies. Y&R and B&B spiked to season highs with a 0.35 and 0.31, respectively in Women 18-49. A few weeks earlier, the shows were doing 0.25s and 0.24s. GH just does not see high interest, even when it does do well in Total Viewers like it did during the week of February 17-21, 2025: https://www.soapoperanetwork.com/2025/02/daytime-broadcast-ratings-for-the-week-of-february-17-21-2025 That particular week had great viewership but average demos. The demos in this post for the show are better than two weeks ago, yet the Total Viewers are just bad.
  21. Just over a year since its release, “Hollywood Hustle,” the debut novel from “General Hospital” and “Beyond the Gates” star Jon Lindstrom, is being adapted into a feature film. According to Deadline, which first reported the news, financier, producer and distributor AETH Entertainment has landed the film rights to the novel, with Lindstrom set as an executive producer. “Hollywood Hustle” (Book Cover) Courtesy of Crooked Lane Books Set in the dark underbelly of the Hollywood scene, “Hollywood Hustle” is a propulsive and tense thriller set in the seedier side of Los Angeles, where it depicts the bold prose of an insider named Winston Greene, a has-been film star who wakes one morning to find his six-year-old granddaughter at his bedside—traumatized, unattended, and gripping onto a thumb drive. She comes bearing video proof that her mother, Winston’s troubled adult daughter, has been kidnapped by a murderous gang demanding all his “movie money” for her safe return. But they don’t know it’s all gone, long gone. Unable to go to the police for fear the kidnappers will make good on their promise to kill his daughter, Winston turns to two close friends—a legendary Hollywood stuntman and a disgraced former LAPD detective who used to consult on Win’s cop films. There’s no easy way out for Winston or his daughter—the gang is violent and willing to do anything to get the money they’re after, and Winston begins to realize that to get his daughter back, he’ll have to beat the kidnappers at their own game. “From the opening pages, ‘Hollywood Hustle’ grabs you and doesn’t let go — it’s a natural fit for an electrifying cinematic experience,” AETH Entertainment CEO Eric Woods said in a statement released to Deadline. “So much of my career has been spent in and around the film industry, and I wanted Hollywood Hustle to capture the look and feel of that world behind the camera that most people don’t see,” said Lindstrom. “I’ve had the chance to play so many great characters imagined by other writers. It’s going to be a thrill to see the characters I created come to life on the screen.” In August 2023, Soap Opera Network exclusively unveiled the novel’s cover, with Lindstrom speaking on his foray into fiction writing, saying, “Writing a novel has been unlike any other creative endeavor I’ve undertaken, and I’ve tackled more than a few.” He added, “There are certainly some similarities between how books, movies and TV are brought to the public, but they end there. The biggest difference I’ve seen is the unconditional support the literary world gives to writers!” The novel was first released on February 6, 2024 by Crooked Lane Books as a paperback. Commenting on the team behind the launch, Lindstrom shared he received “nothing but love and encouragement [from them].” If you have yet to pick up a copy of “Hollywood Hustle,” you can do so by clicking here, including a hardcover edition. You can also check out our exclusive excerpt from the novel’s second chapter here. Lindstrom is best known for portraying Kevin Collins on “General Hospital,” although he actually joined the show in 1992, playing Kevin’s nightmarish twin brother, Ryan Chamberlin. By 1993, he began playing dual roles when the show introduced Kevin. With the continued success of “General Hospital,” ABC commissioned a spinoff, internally titled “GH2,” in the hopes it would help correct sagging ratings in the timeslot preceding “All My Children,” which was previously held by the likes of “Loving” and “The City.” Genie Francis, Jon Lindstrom Christine Bartolucci/Disney In June 1997, the network introduced “Port Charles,” which saw a few of the parent show’s characters segue into the spinoff, including Kevin, and would often allow for crossover appearances. Later canceled in 2003, Lindstrom returned to “General Hospital” in a recurring capacity until 2004. After a nearly nine-year absence, Lindstrom once again reprised his role as Kevin on “General Hospital,” appearing on recurring status, with Kevin now married to Laura Collins (Genie Francis). In 2010, Lindstrom received his first-ever Daytime Emmy Award nomination for his portrayal as Craig Montgomery on “As The World Turns,” nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, where he appeared alongside McClain’s Rosanna. He later received nominations for his “General Hospital” work as Kevin in 2019, 2020 and 2023, the latter of which was for Outstanding Supporting Actor. Last month, it was announced that Lindstrom had joined the cast of “Beyond the Gates” in the recurring role of Joey Armstrong. He made his debut on the brand new soap opera’s Friday, March 7 episode. 22. Starting Tuesday, April 8, radio station WBEZ Chicago will launch its limited series podcast, “Making: Stories Without End,” which explores the fascinating origins and enduring legacy of soap operas, including the impact made by Irna Phillips, the genre’s pioneer. From their humble beginnings on Chicago’s radio airwaves to their evolution through television and today’s streaming platforms, “Making: Stories Without End” will unpack how the genre has helped shape pop culture while telling intergenerational stories that continue to resonate with millions of viewers. “Daytime dramas are a cornerstone of American television history,” said Natalie Moore, former WBEZ reporter and editor, and host of Stories Without End,” in a statement. “For decades, soaps didn’t just entertain – they led the charge in tackling some of society’s most taboo topics. Issues like sexual assault, abortion, AIDS and LGBTQ+ representation found a platform in soaps long before mainstream media or primetime television were ready to engage with them.” Joining Moore for the six-episode journey, listeners will hear from historians, creators, writers, actors, including “Days of our Lives” star Deidre Hall (Dr. Marlena Evans), and fans who reveal how the soaps have not only reflected cultural change but often pushed the boundaries of what audiences were ready to confront. “Making: Stories Without End,” Natalie Moore WBEZ Chicago New episodes of “Making: Stories Without End” will debut every Tuesday on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, NPR One, Pocket Casts and wherever listeners find their favorite podcasts.
