This is so disturbing to me. If anyone has ever heard of this man or the little girl, please do the right thing. I pray that this will have a happy ending. And iof this Stiles is the man that is abusing this little girl I hope he rots in hell.

LAS VEGAS - Nevada authorities identified a man on Friday who they want to question as they search for a young girl shown being sexually assaulted in a homemade videotape.

Chester Arthur Stiles, 37, was being called a "person of interest" in the search for a girl with haunting eyes who authorities believe was 4 or 5 years old when she was raped and sexually assaulted in the explicit video, Nye County Sheriff Tony DeMeo said.

The girl is called "Madison" on the tape, and it is "possible" that the man shown in it is Stiles, DeMeo said. The FBI has taken a look at the tape and agrees it could be him, DeMeo added.

Stiles was described as a white male, 6' 3" and with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Stiles, whose last known address was Las Vegas, also was wanted on unrelated state and federal warrants on charges of sexual assault and lewdness with a minor under 14 years of age, the sheriff said. That incident was reported in Las Vegas.

"We know he has those warrants," DeMeo said. "For us, he is a person of interest. We want to talk with Mr. Stiles about the identity of the female victim."

No family members of the girl have come forward and her full name is not known, he added.

"The mother may not come forward with that information," DeMeo added, because the video suggests it was not the first time the child had been abused.

"I've seen a lot of horrific stuff. Nothing in my career has come in anywhere close to what this girl has gone through," said DeMeo, who said he had worked for 25 years in law enforcement in New York.

Officials said they had received 4,000 tips since first publicizing the case earlier this week, when they distributed images of the girl and the man on the tape.

"We had to find a way of rescuing her," DeMeo said in explaining why her image was released.

MSNBC.com generally does not identify or release photos of suspected victims of sexual abuse but is doing so in this case in the interest of the girl’s safe recovery.

Second girl wasn't harmed

Investigators believe the tape was shot sometime since January 2005.

The sexual assault was videotaped over an earlier recording, part of which was still on the tape. That recording showed an older girl, who was later found. She was not sexually abused and "never suffered as a victim at the hands of the perpetrator as the first girl has," Nye County Sheriff's Detective David Boruchowitz said Thursday.

The part of the video showing the older girl was shot in Nye County, a rural county near Las Vegas, Boruchowitz said.

Boruchowitz said the older girl had been videotaped by a "peeping Tom" and had reported the incident to police at the time.

Man said he found tape in desert

A 26-year-old Pahrump man, Darren Tuck, surrendered the tape to Nye County sheriff's investigators on Sept. 8 after another man reported seeing it, Boruchowitz said.

Tuck was later arrested on charges of promoting child pornography and possession of child pornography, both felonies, and released without bail pending an appearance Nov. 26 in Pahrump Justice Court. The top charge carries a possible sentence of up to life in prison.

Tuck told detectives he found the videotape in the desert outside Pahrump more than five months ago. Boruchowitz said investigators don't think Tuck made the tape.

Pahrump is a small town 60 miles west of Las Vegas.

The little girl has been found. She is a healthy seven year old and her mother wasn't aware that this had happened. She was three when she was raped and I pray that she will never, ever remember it
