That speech that Lucious gave to Andre, I wish somebody give that same speech or something like it to Y&R Lily.

The creator Danny Strong said the show is center around the gay son. We already figure that out because he get the positive writing but there's a lot of other issue in the black community too. I hate when the writing favors any one character.

I disagree that the show doesn't need Anika. Anika is Krystle Carrington and/or Pam Ewing. She the symbol of Lucious' desire to move forward and leave his past behind. She's the present while Cookie is the past. Just like Alexis/Krystle and Sue Ellen/Pam. Even if the show got rid of the character of Anika, it would need to create another character just like her to represent what she stands for.

I didn't say Cookie didn't need a rival but Anika isn't the one or at least her portrayar isn't. TH wanted LilKim & LeeDaniels was calling out Foxy Brown. So, obviously they know Cookie needs more rivals or at least know that Anika isn't the one.

I'm thinking Anika's got to be the one pregnant. Cookie is presented as his past. Anika having his youngest could be presented as his future and his only hope to survive.

I really don't think they need Anika. Cookie is there to be whatever Anika was doing. TH was calling on Lil Kim to be an rival for Cookie. Got me thinking Anika role might not last that long on Empire. Then it had me thinking maybe he did a couple of features with a female rap artist to where maybe she got a kid by him. Now that the Red Band Society is cancel get that black kid to come on as Lucious other kid. Hakeem will get competition.

4- Good old fashioned pregnancy. In a larger context, I assumed that the appearance of Jamal's potential daughter was a story about Jamal but one thing that was highlighted was Luscious interacting with children. It would be soapy if Anika is pregnant AND that baby is somehow connected to a potential transplant which could prolong Luscious life.

Either way you slice it, the wedding between Anika and Luscious will take place and will be MUST SEE TV when it does.

What about Cookie & Anika ends up pregnant?

What so good about Empire is the black characters can be schemers. Daytime they put them in a box not only in their love life but them being goody two shoes.

Daytime just want them to be friends with their lead star.

Please, don't get me started on anything dealing with the writer of Thursday line up.

It's weird Empire got a white creator who ask a black guy to help him out with the show.

I want to watch this, but the shows premise, central idea and tone scares me. I am allergic to shows that glamorize, ghetto and hood rat like behavior in urban characters and settings. I think things like that just promote further ignorance and produce bad stereotypes that are harmful to our culture. It bothers me and I have no time for it. But, I have a feeling with names like Cookie, Rashad and Raheem they will be playing up to these stereotypes for the most penultimate amount of filth available to the viewing audience and to appeal to the lowest common denominator for the largest amount of mess possible (similar to those messy Love & Hip Hop shows that swallowed VH1). All of this is something of which, I just can't deal with.

I don't understand how people can judge something before watching. & those ghetto names you name are Muslim names. the main family has Muslim background.

I also saw two episodes of Scandal & didn't like it. Nobody can say I didn't give the show a chance.
