Well then you can't know, can you? 🙂 If you haven't watched Bold in 2023 and seen all of KKL's performances, which I assume you haven't...  Since you wouldn't be basing your opinion on "hearing about it" - you can't make the assumption that she "didn't have it this year" just because you didn't "hear about Emmy worthy story".

When her Emmy reel gets public, which they all do, you'll SEE and not only hear... why she was nominated.

And stating that she is in one of... some other actress's spots is just... Strange.

KKL has given plenty of great scenes and moments in 2023. That woman has worked her ass off.

Like many people I keep up with all shows.

And, no, Emmy reels do not tend to ever become public. That hasn't happened in years. We have to go by interviews like Michael Fairman does & the posts at the Gold Derby forum.

No one is saying that she isn't always giving her all to her performances but that is not the same thing as having story to submit on reels. However, since you are a fan, it is interesting to me that you are not mentioning a story or stories that she did have! That's what is strange, to me, anyway.

It is true that I only watched about 6 weeks of B&B this particular year. You are a dear friend & I'm not trying to put you on the spot.

Did Mike Manning ever get nominated for his role as Charlie?

No, I'm sure he didn't. From Wikipedia (sorry) On July 18, 2021, Manning won Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Performance By a Supporting Actor in a Daytime Fiction Program, as Caleb McKinnon at the 48th Daytime Emmy Awards

.... Also I can see him getting the emmy puffing his ego but to be asked out of his deal? Why? I am sure during the strikes I bet he was glad he still had the GH gig

I say bring on Spencer recast later this summer/Early fall.

Why? Probably young, dumb & arrogant, that winning combination. My question is why in the hell did his agent not talk him out of asking?!!!!

As for me, I say, have Trina meet Justus Ward's son, at the gallery & have him be interested in art.

Can you please stop bashing KKL every chance you get? I still have reflux from you calling her Bradley's pet.  Nobody cares at this point. Jesus.

I am here to say KUDOS to KKL one more time. She definitively deserves it.

Well, I'm sorry but to me she didn't have it this year & both Ari/DAYS & MTS/Y&R did & so she is in one of their spots! And that's not bashing. Just going by story, if they had one or if they did not.

LOL—three B&B Lead Actor nominations is unhinged.

She’ll probably win, too, if she submitted those scenes of Phyllis unraveling and getting rejected by her kids leading up to her faking her death. Very baity stuff.

Also people are already saying she may win because other votes split each other.

I couldn't believe all of the B&B nods. And I'm angry about no nod for Ari/DAYS & MTS/Y&R.

If you have any behind-the-scenes dirt about NAC, I would like to hear it. Did he have issues with the producers, his co-stars, or just the writing?

No, it's all in one vein, that being once he won the Emmy he was anxious to move on to try his hand at Hollywood, that it went to his head, that he got a big head, that he was too good for the show, very typical things that are said about certain young actors who have their first taste of serious fame & acclaim & it changes how they act to the people around them. The implication is that they do not handle fame well. Considered temperamental. I hope this satisfies your curiosity. Personally I hope it is not true because if it is he is likely in for a rude awakening. The kind of fan appreciation he has experienced from SprinaNation is unlike what he is likely to find in his future experiences. If it is true, he is hardly the first to fall prey to how early fame can affect people.

What did NAC do to make them fed up?

Before when this has come up, the discussion was not welcome here. But, very early on he asked to be let out of his contract. This was before he had the Ryan Murphy gig. At a time when he had no offer. Of course they said no but things changed between him & the show.

In my mind choosing not to recast a part means that they think that the original actor can't be replaced or that they want him back when he chooses to return.

In this instance that does not apply. They could have had NAC back for a period of weeks, maybe a month & a half, and chose not to. When D&C were in place they planned to recast a new actor as Spencer. Now they instead want to go with a new guy for Trina. As I said it suggests to me a change in thinking with the writing change.

Can it be Sean Ward? Can't we keep the Steven name for a Hardy or a Webber?

    Sure.

  8. 39 minutes ago, Aragorn said:

Who decided on the no Spencer recast? The writers or Frank Valentini? Did NAC piss someone off so much that they don't want to continue his character?

I do not know who. The timing is consistent with change of writers but that is taking a leap. And, yes, they were pretty fed up, so, who knows?

  9. While you're busy not believing all I said (perhaps believing the important part) I'll test you on this one. But, I think you'll believe this one. No Spencer recast. The only way Sprina will exist is her new guy is named Samuel Ward. But would that just yield Srina? S'Rina? Steven Ward! All fixed.

I've been keeping a spreadsheet of the episode numbers for the past 4 years, verifying by JPI photography and/or Disney numbers assigned to photos or what Errol posts.   I started doing this in 2020 which is how I discovered the split episodes that year. Soapoperanews.net usually posts epi numbers, too; but I still verify that they're correct.

    Thanks for the explanation.

UPDATE:  The dgepress site photos confirmed:
Thursday April 18 is episode 15449.

Everything spoiled for 15449 (Wed April 17)
    aired on Thursday April 18,
plus one thing from the following episode:
(Sonny learns that Dex is becoming a cop).

    Not confirmed but obvious conclusion:
     Tuesday and Wed April 16&17
    are 15448 and 15448A.

    To sum up:
    Mon April 15:  15447
    Tues April 16:  15448
    Wed April 17:    15448A
    Thurs April 18:  15449

All of the previously-posted descriptions for upcoming episodes...
... now shifted to the next airdate.

The press site has pix up for today & they are coded 172171, so totally different. (2 of Finn & Dante) (5 of Sexy Dexy cop tryout) I have them if anyone wants them, although people can get them themselves, of course. The previous day was 4-12 and coded 172174, so their system eludes me. Wait a minute. Where did you get 15448, etc. off of the same site I got these?

Yeah, I know she took 3 pills, but I don't know what those 3 pills were.  Again, it probably doesn't matter in the scheme of things so I won't harp on it.  I just don't know why Ava was immediately convinced all Sonny's meds were off from her misusing Sonny's medicine.  And why Sonny keeps his meds in the bathroom that looks like a hallway powder room and not in his own bathroom.

I thought that bathroom was a new set.

The only way I understand it is that, even though this is amazingly stupid, Ava took 3 of the pills they made a point to show us & the reason she had them tested is because they didn't even make her drowsy, so that was what triggered her suspicion of them. She didn't pull out any other pill bottles, just that one. And the reason she had no reaction is because they're so weak. But if you had to take some psychiatric meds, bipolar are possibly less dangerous than others because the new meds are basically just mood stabilizers. Not that anyone should ever try this at home!!! But it wouldn't be like taking haldol or something. More like antidepressants than anti-psychotics.

What's wrong with the outdoor set Dex/Chase were using?  It looks like a parking lot and I am pretty sure it was supposed to be a parking lot lol.  It's more unbelievable that Michael Corinthos knows how to fix a stove, tbh.

I have a hard time believing Abc/Disney/Frank/GH wants to have this large of a cast especially when quite a few bring very little to the table.

So I am unclear still.  Was Ava taking bi-polar medicine not made for her to sleep?  Or did she just get his bi-polar meds analyzed?

She took 3 & she took some more & had them analyzed.

I thought the Sexy Dexy scene was fine.

As usual, these nominations include a lot of head scratchers and names that make me want to scream and then LMAO.

-- For Lead Actor, Thorsten Kaye again? For WHAT? And John McCook again for playing an old dyIng man? And 3 actors from BOLD? Three???

-- For Lead Actress, Michelle Stafford's nomination is a joke, a complete joke. I love KKL, and she's been overlooked far too long, but WTH did she do last year that warranted this nom? And where is Melody Thomas Scott if we're going to put up people who've been slighted in the past? Oh, that's right, she's not well-liked.

I'm sure the rest of the nominations will be just as laughable.

Both Ari/DAYS & MTS/Y&R were totally robbed. I know Ari would have had to nominate herself. Sheesh.

Both The Bay and Neighbours are nominated for Show!

I really don't want to go down this road again because we've covered it before. However, so many on this board insist on calling this a rape that I have to again voice opposition to that. ...

This reminds me of that shaggy dog story about people in a bar, regulars, who had all told & heard the same jokes over & over so they assigned them numbers. Applied here, it would be to storylines not jokes. At this point someone would call out "Number 47!" and everyone would recall mentally what everyone's stance was on this storyline.
