Good point, Nex. Bottom line is with the backlash against Luke/TG, TPTB have to notice that as much as this Luke-with-an-edge is closer to 1978, it's not impressing fans. We need more of the romantic, people-focused Luke again. I keep seeing and reading how TG/ES/NP say it's a great story and I'm believing it. I think this is going to be a transition story for many involved - if not all. I love umbrella stories for that reason. And the script released had Luke saying specifically he wanted to get home - that's his only focus. I think there's going to be a whole lot of awakenings when Tracy/Lucky/Lulu realize they were so quick to shrug off Luke's disappearance as nothing, yet they could have truly lost him this time.

Hmm.... I'm not sure what I think but it's sure easier to respond. Thanks for the vid, Ms. Q. She might be crazy.... but she's in love, and all in all he's really not that bad a guy. He just has impulse control issues, which I'm sure behind closed doors works for her on many an occasion. TracyQuartermaine... that was the hideous faux-wedding in 2006. After Tracy got drunk and Alan tripped her, Alice carted her off and tied her to that chair. The cake was wedding cake - and the entire thing was in poor taste, IMO.

Thanks Hooked - that reading sounds interesting. That's what I want to know about Luke while he's being held captive... that he's doing everything he can to get home and that he's being fatherly to a young woman who's had some bad stuff happen to her. Sounds like Tracy is going to be popping in here and there all summer. I imagine it's going to be pretty funny until they realize that Luke is missing and hadn't merely left. I know some of you don't like the "Parent Patrol", but honestly that has always been a big part of the character and this summer it isn't patrolling the love life of her ungrateful step-daughter. This summer it should like all the juniors will have her attention. From the spoilers I've read, only Spixie isn't in her sights. But Michael, Kristina, Lulu, Jason, Rebecca, Ethan and Lucky are. You know how it will play out - Edward will be absolutely delighted that everyone is around and will allow them to burn the house down so long as they don't hurt their fingers. Monica will try to be the reasonable one who talks logic with them and find out what's really going on. And Tracy couldn't care less what the younger crowd wants so long as she knows about it and it's not going to take anything from her. Funny.... I was thinking about a challenge. Perhaps starting with the first letter of the alphabet and we have a character name, and object and a location all with the same letter. Then we challenge each other to write a short fic that contains all three. Everyone can participate and each letter gets a week's worth of attention. What do you think?

It's so hard to tell what will continue tomorrow and what won't. Liz/Tracy putting together that Ethan/Rebecca might be involved could continue... or it might not. The "Search for Luke" is certainly not anyone's priority at this point. Seriously... Tracy's rings were firmly in place, she didn't seem bothered by the mention of Holly's name at all, no one thought he was with Holly actually - just run off somewhere else. I got the feeling that Tracy saw the distinction - she threatened him that if he left with HOLLY it was over, but nothing said his leaving to go somewhere else wasn't more palatable. They know Luke... I really hope the whole divorce/Holly thing is dropped - we seriously don't need to go through that all over again. What I got yesterday was the Spencers (Tracy, Lucky, Liz, Lulu) were trying to explain to Ethan that this is what Luke does... wanderlust gets the better of him no matter what he promises. The shift from Luke to Ethan happened today, meaning that dealing with/about Luke was demoted and getting Ethan figured out and gone became the priority. Tracy was happy, strong and confident today, not an abandoned wife who was heartbroken. BTW, in response to the Serial Girls thing - they are projecting too much. It's not like Ethan was being written being "in sync" with Luke, it's that he really believed Luke wouldn't leave and doesn't have the history that the other three do. The fact that Ethan happens to be right this time will be reason for more acceptance - but it definitely wasn't an "Ethan is closer to Luke than his other kids" thing. At any given time Luke could be in danger and no one would be the wiser. Tracy, Lulu and Lucky have sort of accepted that. Ethan is new to this game.

Recaps Wednesday June 17, 2009 STATS Vets: Tracy, Alexis, Mac Kisses: n/a for the duration.... Ring Watch: Firmly on her finger! (guess she's not 'completely done with him' after all) Appearance: Black shirt with ruffles (seems to be a wardrobe obsession), black pants. Other Stories: Scrubs PI kicks into high gear (cute bathroom scene); Spixie working on Brianna's case also (although Maxie wants to play); Niz discuss Em/Becca (creepy Emily in crypt dream); Alexis wants Max to stop Diane's lawsuit; Mayor tries to manipulate Mac for more police to cover his tracks, and Mac spots Spixie; Nic gives Rebecca the brush-off but she later approaches him at the crypt; Mac gets Robin to talk to Maxie; Robin/Spixie realize that the major's wife knew about Briana before...; Patrick meets Andrea Floyd who wants him to settle the lawsuit out of court Line of the Day: Max to Diane "I see, I'm just a mindless piece of fluff. Well I'm just going to take this trophy ass home and warm you up some mac and cheese." Sc. 1 - no Tracy Sc. 2 - On the HS Ethan/Rebecca are arguing that the Q's are the focus not Nicholas, and Tracy busts them saying wow, isn't thing interesting. What could the two of you ever be talking about? (looking like the cat that ate the canary) Sc. 3 - Rebecca tries to put off Tracy, but she assures the Jrs. that seeing Emily's long-lost sister and Luke's long-lost son in this heavy a conversation can only mean one thing - they're talking about money. Rebecca tells Tracy she's off-base, they were talking about a game. Tracy doesn't buy it it, and Becks tells her she can believe whatever she wants. On her way out Rebecca yells at Ethan to tell her when the game is arranged. Walking to the bar Tracy tells Ethan Rebecca could use lessons, she's not as good as him. Ethan says she should put her suspicions somewhere else, in the meantime they've got something else to worry about - Luke could be in trouble. Tracy just smiles. Sc. 4 - Tracy replies I don't know if you are genuinely concerned with Luke or starting a new con, but either way she's not interested. Ethan tells her Luke's missing and he understands she was hurt... Tracy interrupts saying she doesn't want his understanding. Luke has run off so that's that, she's done, end of story. Ethan continues saying no there's more. Luke told Ethan and Tracy that he was staying and now he can't be found. Just then Lucky and Lulu arrive and want to know why they were summoned. Ethan tells them what happened - that Luke got the call from Holly, and told her, Ethan and Tracy that he wasn't leaving. Ethan even called Holly who hasn't heard from Luke. Ethan is really concerned and tells them something has happened to their father. Lulu just smiles and shakes her head. Sc. 5 - Ethan doesn't see the problem. Tracy said the family was just closing in on him so he took off. Lucky says it's his pattern. Ethan argues that Luke says he wasn't going anywhere. Lulu gently tries to tell Ethan that she's sure Luke meant it when he said it, but he changes his mind all the time and takes off - but he always comes back. Tracy says yes, he's probably following the skirt he hasn't seen or the bar he hasn't barfed in... Ethan can't believe they are dismissing it so easily. Sc. 6 - Liz comes into the HS to tell Lucky she's worried about Nicholas. Tracy (back over at the bar) says "you know what, Luke isn't the only man I'm done with. You're bad for business. You're gone." Lulu says she's firing Ethan? "You got it Baby, I'm firing Ethan". Ethan just takes another swig. Sc. 7 - Lulu says she can't fire him. Tracy assures Lulu she's an owner of the Haunted Star and she can do what she wants. Lulu counters that Johnny and Nicholas are part owners too and Lulu is pretty sure she can convince them that Tracy is just being a bitch. (Tracy's eyes are wide with amusement on that one, lol.) Ethan expounds "thank you Lulu for that defense. Lucky says he can't understand why Ethan would want to stick around PC with Luke gone anyway. Tracy says she's thinks Ethan has other interests - when she arrived she saw Ethan thickly in discussion with none other than Rebecca Shaw. Liz makes note of that as she looks pointedly at Lucky. Meanwhile Tracy is looking extremely pleased with herself.

Hey Star... I've been following along about Colin. Your cutie is certainly living an interesting life. I'm glad you found time to drop in. Prayers are coming from Toronto, ON as well. I don't know how you've managed to wade trough SD, Hooked - I haven't been back since they took off the find feature. Just too much craziness there. On SOC, however, we have another who wades through the spoilers to compile them each day. This is what she has for Tracy... Other Stories Matt trying to save his patient but not succeeding - Diane brings the suit Kristina brings Michael a joint (naughty girl)/Michael goes home but feels he doesn't belong A heartbeat is found for Claudia's baby/Sonny wants Claudia gone if the baby is Ric's/Liv tells Sonny she thinks babino is Ricky's Lulu/Spin/Maxie still on the trail of the Glacial One at the spa (Spinelli is getting a waxing on his manly parts - OUCH!!!) WOW.... Jax does Karate - nice outfit... Super ouch - Jason tells Carly to just wait, and Carly slaps back that he said the same thing when Kate took Michael to the warehouse so she listened and Michael got shot Michael and Kristina take off in Viola's (the nanny) car, and gets into an accident of some kind (the cliffhanger!)

Oh, I've been saying for ages that a lot of this story will be wrapped up in November - that doesn't faze me in the least. The thing with Luke gone is that we see the Spencers working together. Lulu/Tracy, Lulu/Ethan, Ethan/Lucky... it's all good stuff. We don't need LuNacy together to make them in the same story. What we do know is that Tracy won't be out of it... but she's not 30 and isn't going to do the heroic stuff like the Spencer Sibs will. This is a long-term story arc so I'm not surprised they've already looked at November sweeps and beyond. And then we have a reunion to look forward to. This is old-school GH. Not the 6 weeks stories we had been seeing a few years ago. This is integrated characters and mini-stories that are part of a much larger whole. This is the GH I fell in love with.

No follow-up, no Tracy, no Quartermaines (except Jason and Michael), no Spencers (except Lulu), no Cassidines (except Alexis)... Vets: Alexis Other stories: Scrubs working on their medical mystery CarJax awaits Michael's return - meanwhile Mikey's having a fit on Liz and Jason has to physically restrain him (punches Jason ) Lulu/Spin/Maxie together dealing with Kate and Crimson (Spin is in good form - very funny) Claudia gets bad news about her baby and Sonny is a complete ass to her (no surprise there) Alexis/Mayor Garret Floyd (have we heard his name before) obviously have a past Claudia has had Sonny's house redecorated - it looks light as sooooo much better Matt convinces Patrick that he should do the surgery on Brianna - bad idea 'cause chicky flatlines Alexis and Jax bonding (with soft music in the background... very sweet) - talk about secrets for love are justified Thanks for the spoilers, Hooked. I think we will be seeing Tracy a whole lot more this year... until JE's vacation anyway. Sad thing about SD. His health has been bad for years now. Age is a b!tch sometimes.

Yup, you were right on Holly being the 'damsel' but Luke didn't even bat at eye, and he certainly didn't look concerned in the least. At some point I really hope they deal with Tracy's paranoia and her not believing Luke because I am with him on this one - it's getting a bit much. I assume there is follow-up too. After the DNA results Ethan will be making a b-line back to the HS I'd imagine. And no, Rebecca hasn't agreed to move in yet. I suspect today Monica goes to Em's grave with her (I can't get into Medianet at the moment, but I'm sure I saw one of Reb/Mon at Em's grave). As for the Q thing, that's not hard to believe at all. The are on increasingly all the time. Rebecca is going to be lumped in and you know once they find out the truth Monica and Edward won't care and will still accept her anyway. And Ethan is as of now a Spencermaine, so he'll be around and having some come-to-Jesus moment to soften his edge. Michael is returning, if Jake becomes an issue that's another Q to the fold. There are actually more than 2 of them. I hope in these couple reshufflings they don't go with NEm 2.0, LnL 2.6 or JaSam - I think the boat sailed on all of those years ago. We need some new dynamics in that gang.
