  1. I remember watching the first episode, and I didn't even make it all the way through.
  2. no idea who these people are, but it a song for St Patrick
  3. have any of you ever heard Diane Keaton sing? I was watching this movie recently and forgot just how good she was as a singer
  4. 2012 can't get here soon enough.
  5. all your items Carl are just illustrations of Republicanism in full bloom. They seek a return to a time when there were no unions, no social security, one even wants no public education dept, no hea;th care for the needy, no regulation of big business...you might as well just turn the calendar back to 1911.
  6. I don't know what link led me to this, but I have not heard thing song in forever..decades the early 70s is such an interesting time for music. You have classic rock, the birth of disco, the whole singer/songwriter thing, and then stuff like this.
  7. One of the best groups ever
  8. I come back to this song always. and it is able to be totally morphed
  9. I don't blame them for not voting for him because of this. Just a month after tax cuts for the rich, he is cutting heat for the poor? It's something out of Dickens and Scrooge would be proud.
  10. oh wow, Kimberly Locke! She was pretty good but this is the one I remember most It's sad that she finished out of the money and yet she was better than the last five winners maybe. But her year the fix was in for some guy nobody ever heard of again.
  11. I saw her in Central Park all those years ago. She is hit and miss. That was a great show, but a few years later she did a concert at Radio City which was pretty much a 45 minute farce.
  12. This is a curious novelty song I believe from the year 1949...just listen to the lyrics I never knew such song were made back then, and apparently this one quite popular. and her she sings I guess a sequel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GL-XGpJTsso
  13. There just isn't a new crowd. Tennis seems to always be about the top rivalry with everyone else that we have to pretend is a factor. Evert/Navratilova was the greatest sports rivalry probably ever and it lasted something like 15 years. If someone else made it into a final it was a fluke. This will be a critical time for Federer because if he fails to reach the final again he risks being ranked 3rd again. I imagine the last thing he wants is to start facing Nadal in semis.
  14. I have found that there is a fascination with uber-American things even as everyone looks down on America. I remember living in London back in the 80s and more than once ran into someone who was curious if it was just like Dallas. Gangsters, westerns, big soap operas...people seem to like these unrealistic fantasy American concepts even as Americans get bored with them. Recently I was playing a game online with someone from Europe and all he could tell me was how much he loved Jersey Shore and thought it was the greatest show he ever saw. He was disappointed when I could not reply with the proper response to his Jersey catchphrase of "Gym, Tan, Laundry" Not everyone of course, but these broad things that cross language barriers seem to have always been popular.
  15. Chris Pine as Blake...I think that is an interesting choice because he did show this great ability to channel William Shatner without actually imitating him and presume he could do the same for Forsythe. Plus, he has the great head of hair anyone needs to step into Forsythe's tux. Not familiar with her suggestion for Alexis. ok, not seeing this for her. He fits.
  16. daytimefan, I think you might be out of date with the Collins contract status.
  17. I have this song on my iPod. As a bit of trivia, this song is considered the first Disco song to go #1. I love early disco when it was fun and silly. Later disco became more about the thump thump thump of the beat.
  18. None of these guys! Rafael Nadal is the king of tennis. These wannabes and has beens are just there to serve his career and provide victims that he can crush.
  19. Ozzie and Harriet Nelson's son David tuesday and through youtube links I was reminded of this brilliant song from the underappreciated Rick Nelson (or "Ricky" if one insists)
  20. wow, the idea of a Dynasty movie set in the early 60s sounds great to me. It would be like a lurid Douglas Sirk drama, a Written On The Wind with Alexis decked out like Jackie Kennedy on fashion steroids I assume.
  21. who would play Blake? Jon Hamm (is that his name? ) he has the perfect hair for the role.
  22. I may faint if this happens! Just thinking about it is too much already oh wow, 30 years
  23. This guy is such a dick. He is a malignancy on America just for foisting Sarah Palin on us. It was only a few years ago he was for repealing DADT, but as the Tea Party showed disdain for his bullshit Mavericky ways (which he never was), he has knelt and genuflected at the fundie altar of shmuckitude. And I like how he threw in their the whole "small town" bit, trying to once again say real Americans come from small towns, while big cities produce these faux-Americans. I guess that is why he and his rethuglican brethren have blocked the passing of the bill to get the 9/11 first responders medical aid: they came from New York and therefore are not real Americans.
  24. I stumbled upon this and was shocked that tv icon "Ginger" was so talented
