I am in the minority, but I like the character of Ashley and do think Jen Jacobs (I think is the actresses name) has started to come out of her shell. BUT I like her away from Derek and would like to see them flesh out the character more and develop her backstory.

I work in Public Education (a school counselor at a high school) so unfortunately I am at work during the day when it airs live. I do record it through Hulu Live and watch that day's episodes when I get home in the evenings. I do hope that Ben Gavin will loosen up soon. Maybe it was the newness of the show or each of the daytime newbies trying to find themselves in their character, but he has been very wooden and shown no emotion these last several weeks. I am wondering if we will see a darker Derek emerge after this concussion in the fire and his growing jealousy of Andre and Ashley. Not wanting his picture taken for publicity makes me think he also has something to hide. Maybe it will play out soon. As for starving, yes we were. Until now I felt like we have been on wash, rinse, repeat when it comes to daytime shows. I hope this new energy in daytime will allow the other networks to either consider creating new shows or revive some of the cancelled ones. I do agree they want to keep Dani in a gray area and all of this bouncing back and forth is maddening!!!! My ideal for Dani is for her to find out who she is as a single woman, a mother, a sister and a career woman and to figure out how to live independenly. She went from living with the support of her dad, to marrying Bill at 19 and giving up her dreams to be a wife and mom, so her whole adult life she has only known one thing... wife and motherhood. Her kids are grown and she is in that house alone. I am sure it an bring up her insecurities, but that is what is missing. I may be the only one, but I want them to explore those insecurities in Dani... and let her come out stronger and more powerful.

I agree with your statement regarding Leslie has been cartoon-ish the last several days. Additionally, I think it would maybe help the viewers understand her and her affair with Ted a little more if the show provided flashbacks of the affair playing out, why Ted ended it etc. I still would like to know who she is working with on the Paternity Test. I was wondering why Kat wasn't there either if it was such a big event. If one of my parents was receiving a prestigous honor, I would postpone my trip out of town until afterwards in order to attend. I wish they would have explained it that Kat had the flu or something as was sick in bed and then had her facetime her mom or dad at one point. That would have been more believable.

See this is what gets me and makes me think that Dani is more upset over losing her career and what could have been her career that she gave up when she married Bill, rather than losing her marriage. I wish they would stop having Dani be so hung up on Bill and explore her as an independent woman who is learning to pick up the pieces of her life and stand on her own 2 feet.

@Maxim You make some very valid points here. I would like to see them explore the character of Smitty on his own. Explore the back story. How did he and Martin meet?? What drew them together?

Same... They should be younger like upper elementary or middle school aged.

I am wondering if it is somehow connected to Martin and his nightmares and the DuPree's or Bill I do think Vernon has a secret male love child floating around out there somewhere with a former lover played by Victoria Rowell or Debbi Morgan

Unfortunately, I think Dani is using Andre and will end up breaking his heart. After yesterday's episode with the gymrat/trainer jealously watching Vanessa do I feel that the writers are setting us up for a Fatal Attraction style storyline between those 2. I would like to have seen Martin and Smitty have some upper elementary/middle school aged children.

@ranger1rg I was making a suggestion not saying it is going to happen. I like Daphne too and the character of Nicole. So I ask you to please calm down. You are allowed your opinion, just as I am mine and the other posters in this forum. I wonder if it is in the backroom of a warehouse or factory Joey owns. Maybe he has a bigger business to make everyone think he is a reputable business man. I agree with Dani and Andre. I am afraid he is going to end up with a broken heart or getting burned if he continues with her, as it is obvious she is not over Bill. I do like Ashley, but really not impressed with Derek. Ashley outside of Derek has the potential to be interesting if they would delve a little bit into her backstory, flesh out the character and give us a glimpse of her relationship with her mom. Also, I would love to know more about her friendship with Andre. It was obvious from the first episode they knew each other, and I would like to have that explained a little more. Was there something between them before Andre took off to photograph around the world???? Since all we know about her and her mom is that she grew up middle class and her mom was a single mom who worked several jobs to put food on the table. I would love to see it eventually revealed that Jon Linstrom's character is her father. I too am enjoying Leslie/Dana and the actress is a natural and SOOOOO darn good!!!!! I do want to know more about this story, her issues with Ted and Nicole, etc. Something tells me she knows Eva is not Ted's daughter and whomever she called to help with the DNA test is going to rig it to make it look like Eva is Ted's daughter. I do wonder if Eva is actually Leslie's daughter or maybe a child she kidnapped and raised as hers. Either way I think Eva is going to be hurt in this scheme as well.

This pairing does nothing for me. I like Ashley and am in the minority I know when I say that. The character just needs some more fleshing out and exploration into her back story. Derek, I am over and he can go and NEVER come back for all I care.

I like her as well, would just like to know a little backstory on her and her relationship with Doug. I see no chemistry between the two actors what so ever. I do hope that the actor who plays Martin improves soon or that at the end of the 13 weeks, they release him and bring in someone else who is a little more seasoned in the field of daytime.

lol okay @Taoboi what if the sacrificial lamb was Hayley?? If Hayley died after giving birth to Bill's baby and then dies... What if Dani was now in the situation that if she and Bill reunited she would be raising Hayley and Bill's child? I agree the children should be younger to be more believable.

I didn't say it was. It was a suggestion and other shows have fired actors and actresses just as big and if not bigger.

As for the sacrificial lamb, while it could be Naomi I could also see it being Nicole at the hands of Leslie/Dana (maybe even accidentally). Nicole's death would cause ripples and could cause lots of stories with the DuPree's blaming Ted.

This would be a good job for her best friend Pamela and Cady McClain would have the acting jobs to do these meaty scenes.

Bill and Leslie that would be an awesome combination.

I agree with everyone who said today's episode moved fast. I do think Dani is a little over the top. I had hoped she would mellow some. I did however LOVE her mug shot photo shoot.. hilarious!!!!!! Naomi and Jacob- Every married couple has to have conflict and I see this being their conflict. Do I think Dani maybe turning a blind eye to her mom's shenanigans, perhaps. But I do think that this crack in their marriage is going to grow and I wonder who will be in the wings to pick up the pieces for both. Ted and Leslie/Dana- LOVE their scenes and LOVE how CRAZY Leslie/Dana is being. I want to know more, did Ted cheat on Nicole or was she his former girlfriend who he left when he met Nicole and why did he pay her?? Did he know about the baby....... Or is Eva really his child or did Leslie/Dana kidnap her or lie to her and it is revealed that she really isn't Ted's daughter. I liked her scenes with Andre, but DEFINITELY do not want to go an incest route here. Ashley/Derek- Derek is loosening up, but I did think Ashley did a better job her (and I may be in the minority) and I would like to see the Ashley character fleshed out more. Also, I would love to see her and her mom given a back story.....like who is her dad?? Could it be the shady Joey played by Jon Lindstrom. I also would like them to explain the backstory between Ashley and Andre. From the initial scene it appeared as if they knew each other previously, and you know it is being set up for a triangle between Derek/Ashley/Andre. As for Dani with Bill, I had hoped she was correct on Friday when she told her family she was moving on, but it is obvious she is still pretty much infatuated with Bill. Do I think she loved Bill, yes at one point I do....but now I think she LOVED the life he provided for her and their family too, and that is what she misses. She spent most of her adult life with him. I do think they need to bring in another love interest for Dani though. Joey and Randy- Interested to see the backstory between them. Are they going to be BTG version of Sonny/Jason?? Also, what if Joey has some connection with Doug's wife Vanessa. Bill and Haley- I loved Haley standing up to Bill over Dani yesterday. While I don't agree with what she did to end that marriage, I do think Haley won't tolerate Bill's nonsense and I don't see the marriage lasting very long. I do hope that Dani can soften towards Haley a bit in the future. A friendship between the two might be interesting.

I may be in the minority here, but I am beginning to like the Ashley character, especially away from Derek. I say either flesh out his character more or cut him loose.

Have my DVR set to record today's episode, since I am working and cannot post live. I do wonder who Dani shot or if it is blanks. Her shooting and wounding Hayley would add another layer to this storyline. I am so excited to be vested back in a daytime show again like I was All My Children.

I am curious to know what BTG ranking was over the other 3 soaps?

The character of Ashley and her mom need to be fleshed out some more. I would like to learn more about them and what happened to Ashley's father.

Either that or Hayley gives birth to Bill's child and something happens to her (she dies) and Bill turns to Dani for comfort and Dani ends having to raise his child with Hayley.
