I am seeing a landslide for the President. I love the all the women have fought back against these women-hating men and won. Kudos to Nate Silver. The pundits who hated on him can stick it where the sun does not shine.

Subtracting a poll done before Sandy to one done after fails to interpret statistical data appropriately. Almost all the state polls since the second debate have shown the trend that independents have been constantly moving toward the President. Of course, this is difficult to see unless you carefully study them like Nate Silver (FiveThirtyEight) and Wang (Princeton Election Consortium) have done. But if you subtract almost any a poll done since the after the first debate from one done more recently, it will show that the independents have been breaking for the President. There are outliers like the Gallup poll which is why I suspect it was not included that table. Romney has not had any "momentum" in the state polls since before the second data despite the claims otherwise of his campaign, their allies, and the media.

I actually admired Carl for remembering his father's words and having the courage to shoot his mother. He is either going to become a strong man or a sociopath. I am hoping for the former.

I cannot take it any more. MSNBC and CNN are still pretending that this is a "toss up."

Interview with Sarah Wayne Callies (Lori): http://www.eonline.com/news/360152/the-walking-dead-shocker-sarah-wayne-callies-opens-up-about-lori-s-difficult-episode I have been thinking that the baby cannot be long for this world. How are they going take care of the baby AND Hershel while on the run from zombies? I don't know how the baby even survived the birth. Lori had no prenatal care and had to be malnourished.

I have never seen Afterlife, but the first thing that I ever saw Andrew in was This Life. It was a British legal drama that I absolutely loved. Andrew was very good in it. He played Egg, the disillusioned lawyer turned writer. Interestingly, Jack Davenport who is in Smash and played Will's rival for Elizabeth's affections in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies was also a lead in This Life. Andrew then starred in Teachers. He was also very good in that as well. I was thrilled when I saw that he got the lead for The Walking Dead and hope that he starts getting accolades for his performances.

Nate Silver firmly rebuts the Sandy argument for the President's impending reelection: http://fivethirtyeight.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/11/05/nov-4-did-hurricane-sandy-blow-romney-off-course/

I completely agree. I noticed that the NY Times endorsement said that the President would be prepared this time for the partisan opposition. I hope that it was right. I want to see he and the Democratic Congress going to the match. No more of this compromising BS.

Yes, Andrew, the prisoner who tried to kill Rick. Rick chased and locked him outside with the walkers. The last we heard, Andrew was screaming which implied that he was zombie chow. Yet somehow he survived and set in motion the plan to take back the prison from Rick. Oscar killed Andrew to save RIck which should persuade the others to let he and the drug addict into the group. Kudos to Andrew Lincoln for his performance when Rick realized that Lori was dead. It was fine work. I think that he is underrated as an actor because he plays the white hat and leader of the group.

There is going to be all sorts of spinning, but Sandy had nothing to do with the President winning the election. Despite months of the pundits and Republican spin machine, this has always been the President's election to lose. He has led in the state polls in most of key swing states since June 2012 and has never has less than ~65% chance of winning this election according to Nate Silver's model. Even the President's first bad debate performance which tightened the polls was unable to shake his lead in most of the swing states. Romney lost this election in way back in August,

I have one major criticism about the episode and that is how quickly Hershel recovered and is moving around after that amputation. It is beyond unrealistic, but the episode was amazingly great so I am not dwelling on that minor inconsistency.

Now the NY Times has an article saying that the mainstream media (including the AP) plans to be cautious. They doubt that they can call the race by 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday because the swing states are expected to be close. RME. What losers! They are just trying to string out the election so they can keep the suspense going and ratings higher. Thank goodness for all the political and election blogs and Web sites.

Yeah, where is Carol? It does seem like she escaped. Looks like Rick loses him mind next week. I am cool with that.I am just glad that he and Lori did not get a sappy goodbye scene. It was heartbreaking when Rick looked at Carl, realized that he killed Lori, started to shake and cry, and then fell on the ground. I did enjoy the funny moment when Daryl asked Glenn and Maggie if they were coming when they were having sex in the guard house. Hilarious. I have no use for Andrea at the moment. Could Michonne be a little less obvious about her suspicions? She is not acting clever at all. Interview with Mazzara and Kirkman about killing off Lori and T-Dog: http://www.seattlepi.com/entertainment/tv/tvguide/article/The-Walking-Dead-Bosses-on-Two-Big-Deaths-It-4007897.php One reason was to make the group off-kilter when they encounter the Governor's group.

Good question. I want to know who did this also. I know that he is a dead man when Rick finds him. I hope that I can find a good hairdresser like Andrea if I am ever in a zombie apocalypse. OMG, it is the prisoner that Rick let go. Rick should have killed him directly. Lesson learned. Wait is Lori really dead? Damn, that is two major deaths in two episodes. [!@#$%^&*] this show does not play.

Today the mainstream media is finally tip toeing and picking a winner as they have played out "it is a toss up." They are so pathetic.

Seriously, that is a Republican group think cra-cray that there is just no breaking through. Two days before the election and they are STILL deluding themselves that the polls and the early voting stats are wrong. I cannot wait to see all their deluded crazy lying heads explode on Tuesday night. I will never forget the look on Karl Rove's face when Ohio went for Obama or Scarborough's horror at Obama's victory and how he left the set before the end of the show. I missed this. Hopefully, it will be posted online somewhere. ETA: I just found it on CBS's site. It was okay, but we got the typical journalistic cop out at the end, "only time will tell." RME.

Most sex workers, particularly women, are coerced into prostitution when they are teenagers through violence, drug addiction, and financial desperation. Most of them are trapped in that life by the time they are adults. They might be giving consent to having sex with their johns, but they are no position to demand safe sex because they have pimps to pay, children to raise, and drug addictions to feed. The STIs including HIV that they contract from their johns gets transmitted to unsuspecting wives and girlfriends and has been the one of the main causes of the HIV/AIDS becoming a global epidemic. Prostitutes are also subjected to violence from both their johns and pimps. When that scandal blew up about the Secret Service using prostitutes in Mexico, the less sexy part of the story that the U.S. media never covered was that the reason that the woman got so desperate and called the police to get the money that she was owed was because she had to give her pimp a cut or she would be in serious trouble. People who use sex workers are contributing to their exploitation and I have absolutely no respect for them.

The Politics Thread
I have a huge problem with people using sex workers. No one grows up thinking that they want to be a sex worker. It is not a victimless crime. It is the exploitation of marginalized and desperate people. The health and emotional outcomes for sex workers, particularly women, in the long term are almost always negative and tragic.

So Maher dates sex workers? Are they are primarily African American? Now I really dislike him.

The Politics Thread
I have never liked Maher other than his anti-religion rants. He is generally full of [!@#$%^&*] and anyone who could be friends with Ann Coulter has to have no heart. Then, what is this about Maher having sex with black hookers? I am not thrilled with Wayne degrading black women to take Maher. Surely, he could have done without the "hooker" reference.

To be fair, I think that the NY Times deal has exposed Nate's work to a wider audience over shorter period than when his FiveThrityEight blog was independent. However, I agree with you that the Times has used FiveThrityEight to lure higher income younger people to get subscriptions. I also think that the Times' election coverage has gotten more prestige and attention because of Nate's solid statistical analyses. However, I got a vibe from the interview with Nate that he was not thrilled by the restrictions that the Times' editors put on his interpretation of his analyses. I must say that the attacks on Nate's work revealed many of the mainstream political pundits and writers to be uninformed corrupt lazy hacks and frauds to not just us, but to their own colleagues.
