Slightly off topic: Y&R needs to offer Jess Walton the moon to return full time.

Not pairing Neil with Nikki & Malcolm with Jill were two huge mistakes.

Had the director moved the final segment of yesterday's show to the beginning of today's they would've been able to fit her apparently cut scene in.

Now would be a good time to do a soft reboot of the Rosales family as well.

Now that Mia (thankfully) & Arturo are gone, the best way to keep the family around is to slowly introduce the parents, then maybe a year or two from now reintroduce a recast Arturo.

Outside of the extended Barber/Winters/Hamilton family & Victor, Ashley, Nick, Jill, Victoria, Sharon & Nikki all should have spoken. Neil was legitimately close with them all.

I've never cared for Christel but she was solid today. Shemar & Bryton were really good.

It was weird seeing Leslie expressing regret over not marrying Neil when she's currently happily married.

Jack & Neil as friends (much like Lauren & Phyllis) has NEVER made sense.

Stan Shaw was a welcome presence.

At least Lily didn't throw herself on the casket.

Shemar owes his entire career to Kristoff, Tonya & Vicki.

The saddest thing is how deeply Neil was tied to almost every character on the show.

He was a classic tentpole character that soaps don't feature enough of these days.

Especially when Abby was close enough to see & hear what was going on for herself.

ATWT was a small town soap. Y&R 2.0 was never that which is why characters like Mary & Carl became obsolete over time.

I think Joshua Morrow works when written correctly as the younger male counter point to Nikki. He doesn’t work in business or as a big bad. I feel like recasting Adam again serves no purpose. They will tell the same old tired story with him like they always do. If they really wanna tell this story again it should be with Keemo, which would never happen. 

 

Also, Twitter has a rumor floating around that they’re looking to recast Chelsea which makes this even more irritating. The only character less needed than Adam is Chelsea.

It's one thing to say what story/pairing you prefer, and it's another thing to unprofessionally go on set and try to devalue your scene-partner because you prefer another pairing. PB specifically called MS out for not being able to keep her character separate from herself like any professional actor would do. As an actor, you need to go to set and do your damn job - MS had trouble with this and it showed when the material was not what she wanted.

 

The show should not have to cater to this type of behavior, and luckily JFP and AM didn't the last time, lol.
