  1. Carl, she was, I believe. She was out by the early summer of 2009. Maybe she was paying a visit to the set on the final day? I'm trying to see if I recognize anybody besides the actors. JBW (Casting Director) is next to Alicia. JHC (EP) is in a corner. Glasses and black shirt/jeans woman (front, right) is writer Addie Walsh, I think, or whatever the name of LB's right-hand woman. Yeah, that's all I got.
  2. My pal sent this to me a while back. This was from the last day of taping in New York. We have some of the actors but most of them are the behind the scenes peeps. I could have sworn she sent me a huge picture of this but this is what I found:
  3. I'm starting to feel sad about 9/23. I wasn't feeling sad for a while because of 2.0 and such but yeah I'm definitely starting to feel the 1 PM EST on ABC loss of AMC. Sniffle.
  4. I synergized character and actor name by accident.
  5. I just got back from Goodnight Pine Valley event. I don't want to start a whole new thread for it. I wasn't going to go due to some personal issues over the last week but then I decided to go last minute. It was extremely crowded. Alicia, Ricky, Christina, Tommy Michaels, Ben Jorgensen (msp) and the kid who plays Miranda were there. Ricky was late but very nice, he brought his wife and his baby. Alicia was also very nice and also very, very mobbed the entire event. Timothy looks hot. I was expecting the baby face and not hot. I don't know why AMC didn't bring him back for a scene or two with Amanda. The event didn't get around to everything like a Q&A and the cake (sigh, missed desserts) because it was extremely crowded (the actors were trying to mingle with everybody) and Prohibition had to open for regular business. The raffle and charity auction all had to be rushed.
  6. Thanks, q. I blame the late hour. Cheap, it should let you embed as many as you want. Put the links and turn on the Raw Linebreak. If the board is not allowing you to do that, maybe Toups can help. Try PMing him.

  8. The only thing I see in that picture is JR checking out Jamie's half naked ass as Jamie gets ready to chow down on a burrito. AMC used to totally do that sh-t on purpose, lol.
  9. In the past year or two, AMC has been very minimal on slaps and, even with Griffin, shirtlessness. Those are staples of soaps. I wouldn't want AMC to be like OLTL in terms of near nudity and wild sex, but a little more wouldn't have hurt.
  10. AMC used to be so full of homosexual/incest overtones and I don't mean that in a negative way. It was very amusing... Writers...

  12. The mags used to do "fun" shoots. That was a Barbie shoot. Others in the picture: Catherine Hickland and Erin Torpey from OLTL. Windsor Harmon when he was Del on AMC.
  13. Article on bad soap children... Karma... The week AMC beat Y&R for half an episode...
  14. First half of May 1993... Kane Ads...
  15. Sniffle. As a child, my household wasn't a fun place to grow up due to issues of domestic violence (my dad). When I was home sick (or, to be honest, pretending to be sick), the soaps would be that something I'd watch with my mom after a morning of PBS and some game shows. Our thing. An escape. Adam & Palmer used to scare the heck out of me when I was too young to understand they weren't real people. Then around 1988-1989, when I was almost 10, I started watching more for me rather than because my mother did. Erica and Travis, Erica and Jack, Adam and Brooke, Natalie and Trevor, Skye and Adam, Tad and Dixie (the soap couple that prompted me to buy my first VCR before I hit my teens in the early 90s), Erica and Kendall, Erica and Dimitri, Edmund and Brooke, Natalie in the well, who killed Will?, Hayley and Brian, etc. Some of my favorite stories, relationships and romances. I watched until the fall of 1995. I came back in the fall of 2002. McTavish got me locked in with the rape story turned into family/town love story. That got me back and I'll stick with AMC to the very end. In my watching, the only writers that really offended my senses to an intense degree were Pratt and B & E. So while I may not have great words for the other writers, I also don't have all that disgust for them either - just for the good times. ABC Nightly News just did a nice short piece on the cancellations. They read a tweet that summed it up - what soaps mean to fans.
