  1. For once, I'm with Sunkist: put the damn thing in an envelope and send it by courier.
  2. IA. I heard someone (forget who) on NPR's "Weekend Edition" mention McConnell's threat to the GOP that if they didn't pass this piece of legislation, they would be forced to collaborate with the Democrats. Of course, as this person said, since the Democrats are not about to deliver cutbacks to Medicare and Medicaid OR tax cuts to the rich, I'd say those negotiations, should they occur, will be combative, to say the least. I know it's petty to say this, but...when it comes to looks...Donny Jr. and Eric REALLY got shafted.
  3. As Rick Perry himself would say, "Oops".
  4. Are you kidding? With the way Jeff Zucker keeps "failing upward," he'll probably be our next president.
  5. See ya in court, Betsy!
  6. Trump sees it all as theatre, doesn't he? Oh, well. If we're gonna go out as a civilization, we might as well go out Fosse! Meanwhile, not even his hairdresser knows for sure.
  7. Ironically, these people LOVE to invoke the Declaration of Independence, yet whenever it's quoted back TO them, they have no clue what you're talking about or where it's coming from. This is America, ladies and gentlemen. This is us. Never come between an American citizen and a day off from work.
  8. Truthfully, I have not been this gobsmacked by others' ignorance since Sherri Shepherd basically admitted on "The View" that she didn't know that the world was round. Now, a public education might have its downsides, but....
  9. Hillary's shade-tweet is worthy of a "Reading is Fundamental" segment on "RuPaul's Drag Race."
  10. No words.
  11. I'll hope for that as well, Julia. Provided, of course, we survive a nuclear attack from North Korea.
  12. We'd just get a bunch of tweets from Trump saying it's all fake news and calling us a bunch of wussies and losers for heading to the bomb shelters we purchased on Amazon.
  13. Ironically, that message is more lucid than most of Trump's tweets.
  14. I wouldn't be surprised if the legacy of the Trump administration (beyond the embarrassing behaviors and drop in standing in the free world) turns out to be the resurgence of the judicial branch of our government.
  15. Gee, Donny, if you're that furious, maybe you should -- I dunno -- stay off Twitter for the foreseeable future? Just a thought.
  16. It irks me to no end how the GOP remains unwilling to pursue the proper course of action against a president who is, in every sense, unfit for the job. That's why a part of me (ashamed as I am to say it) wishes the GOP WOULD get the healthcare bill and reformed tax code of their (wet) dreams. Perhaps then they'll stop whistling and looking the other way when it comes to that clown (...or not). I mean, if nothing else, we can go back and fix THEIR fixes later. Yep. A scary thought, but these days, totally NOT out of the realm of possibilities.
  17. Frankly, I'm just happy Chris Christie had the decency NOT to go shirtless at the beach. He has never apologized for his actions regarding the CP5, so for that alone, he deserves whatever [!@#$%^&*] we throw at him.
  18. You know, I miss the days when the Enquirer's big story was Jackie O's wild sex romp with an extraterrestrial alien. But seriously, good read.
  19. IA, Chris. NBC needed to start smaller with Megyn. As it is, her sudden high profile on the network without any sort of "audition period" for NBC viewers (which, I agree, are a different kettle of fish than those who watch Fox News), not to mention the controversies her show has engendered since its premiere, might turn away people who DO watch NBC and NBC News. IMO, that's a risk NO network could afford these days as audiences across the board continue to shrink. As for Brian Williams...look, I'm not saying I can't stand the guy. I actually think he's pretty funny, in a dry, deadpan sort of way. I'm just saying that his credibility as a journalist is shot and will remain shot no matter how long he remains in "the business" or how high his friend, Andy Lack, raises his profile at MSNBC. IMO, what Brian SHOULD have done after leaving "NBC Nightly News" was reinvent himself as an entertainer. By most accounts, his appearances on "30 Rock," SNL and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" were well-received. Moreover, according to one rumor, before his big implosion at NBC News, Brian was growing uncomfortable with being in Tom Brokaw's shadow and seeking his own late-night show, a la Letterman. If I had been Lack, I would have steered him in that direction, perhaps starting with a "Daily Show"-esque program on MSNBC, and then going from there. I am SO glad I have my new iPhone.
  20. Once upon a time, Bill Clinton made a very good point: "it's the economy, stupid." You want to reach working-class voters? You talk about the things that matter most to them: jobs, and the economy. He tried to get Hillary's team to see that and re-tailor their message to WWC voters with that in mind, but they refused. And now, look where we are.
  21. Frankly, I find Joe and Mika's claims to be more than a little disingenuous. You didn't know he was so...obnoxious? The guy who made those remarks about Mika is not the same guy you knew two years ago? Bullshit. You knew who and what Donald Trump was all along, and not only did you not care, you egged him on. I say to those two what I'd say to anyone, from GOP leaders on down, who might have endorsed Trump in the beginning and are now feigning shock over his narcissism, his racism, his misogyny and complete disregard for law and order, professionalism, common sense and basic respect for others: you knew he was a snake when you brought him in the house, so enjoy.
  22. I'm with the #GoAwayBernie crowd. Bernie's proven to be too divisive even among registered Democrats to run again (and I say that as someone who, for the most part, supported him in the last go-round). Another campaign from him would just stir up the same old b.s. from the far-left and make it easy for Trump or another nimrod from the right or far-right to win and/or remain in the WH.
  23. Oh, those wacky Republicans.
  24. Plus, he appears dead-set on returning Brian Williams to primetime glory. Yeah, he NEEDS to go.
  25. Good!!! Honestly, these Fox News "celebrities" need the rudest of awakenings. They think they have appeal that stretches beyond the channel's very narrow base; and as Greta's ouster at MSNBC proves, they don't.
