No, it's all in one vein, that being once he won the Emmy he was anxious to move on to try his hand at Hollywood, that it went to his head, that he got a big head, that he was too good for the show, very typical things that are said about certain young actors who have their first taste of serious fame & acclaim & it changes how they act to the people around them. The implication is that they do not handle fame well. Considered temperamental. I hope this satisfies your curiosity. Personally I hope it is not true because if it is he is likely in for a rude awakening. The kind of fan appreciation he has experienced from SprinaNation is unlike what he is likely to find in his future experiences. If it is true, he is hardly the first to fall prey to how early fame can affect people.

I have heard that stuff about NAC for awhile now.  No idea if it's true, but it's been a pretty consistent rumor for a few years.  I think MB even alluded to a certain young actor getting a big head (didn't name names) on his you tube show and most everyone thought it was a dig at Chavez.  I do think he's a very talented guy and may hit it big, so good luck to him.

I have no problem with the show waiting to recast Spencer.  I don't have any particular hope Chavez will be back in any long term capacity, but waiting seems right in this situation.

Thing is, Ryan Murphy shows are hit and miss when it comes to success and sometimes problematic. I hope NAC aint hitching his wagon thing RM will be his new wave of success. Also I can see him getting the emmy puffing his ego but to be asked out of his deal? Why? I am sure during the strikes I bet he was glad he still had the GH gig

I say bring on Spencer recast later this summer/Early fall.

Do shows give benefits (such as medical) to noncontract cast?  Or does the union pay that?
Because if the show doesn't have to pay benefits, that might be why they keep recurring actors.
Disclaimer that I have absolutely no idea.
    Just asking.

AS of now a performer has to make over 27k a year to have their SAG AFTRA Health Insurance kick in

When Anna said charm has no moral weight in regards to Sonny I felt that.  Good dialogue between Laura/Anna

You can objectively like someone and then realize they are awful at the same time.

100% that is what I like about this Sonny arc. people are seeing he can do good and bad things

Rena, perfect example. She has very very specific ideas about everything having to do with Lois. (And why not?!) But she is adored. She has that bright, funny, good sense of humor, etc. rep.

I like Brenda. I like VM. Issue is she wont do anything longer than a year and then bolts. How can you write long-term when as soon as the story gets gangbusters VM walks.

Thats why I am not shocked taht GH wanted her to stay. That she wanted to stay and it looks like PM is writing for her.

  5. I missed who was today's BDW. SW was Cathy LePard and Gary Tomlin Directed

I am really liking the show. I love these character moments. I dont need big moments everyday just as long as whats there moves stuff along or sets up future story

If we are not getting Spencer Soon and even if we are please Trina something to do. I liked her talk with Joss & Dex but I want to see her living her life.

Got it.  This seems to fall under a promotional thing though?  Anyhow, I found it weird they didn't at least try to get ahold of her.  It feels like Blaze would have done it, but I know it was all to get Sasha back.

Agreed about Felicia.  But honestly Lucy could have anyone.   We could even get a Lois/Lucy friendship since Lois has little to do.

    Spoiler

This week Maxie is impressed with Lois' knowledge of Deception's history. Lois is on 4 episodes this week too. Maybe Lois starts working at Deception?

FWIW, to me, it seems as if the main drivers of this series are MVJ, CBS and the NAACP with P&G possibly functioning in a supporting role as opposed to their previous role as the sole production company for their soaps in years past. I doubt they will have that measure of creative and production control this time around.

That would be cool. But there is also CBS. Im excited for the show but still nervous, given how networks have micromanaged their daytime soaps inthe past.

Yes!  More variety in daytime! Let's hope it's written properly!!!! and let's hope this leads to more soaps...and more diversity on soaps. CBS tends to do well in rural areas so let's hope those audiences support this show as much as black viewers have supported Y&R.

Finally a soap (other than Y&R attempts to give one of their biggest demographics leading stories).

Not that GH is ratings powerhouse, but I am curious as to which soap will prevail in ratings...but that's getting ahead of ourselves.

Given how outdated the nielsens are I bet in TV, the ratings stay the same. Streaming is where the eyeballs could be more for one than the other. Time will tell. Lets hope they all do well and a sixth soap comes sooner than later.

  8. The Gates is a GO!!!

That means come Jan 2025, there will 5 Daytime soaps on TV/Streaming. Hopefully it shows there can be more added sooner rather than later. This is about celebrating a genre not competition among the 5.

I wonder if CBS is going to put it after YR and move BB to the 1:30 pm slot after the Gates.

If I were CBS Id do

YR, The Gates then B& B

Well that is if The Gates remains an hour long

Than goodness for Jane Elliot, whose presence is enough to elevate anything for me.

Jane is Fantastic. I am loving that they are exploring her grief over Luke and possible new relationships/Friendships with Gregory and Stella. Bring on that Badgamon game.

  10. Tomorrow: Felicia, Laura and Trina are back

The best part was Tracy. I'm already sick of seeing Jason on every episode. The rest of the episode sucked. It was a bad one.

See I do not need big things to happen. Characters are interacting better. Stories are moving. To where not sure but that is what makes soaps great.

  11. Pretty Good episode

    # Liked The Jason/Carly stuff.
The deception stuff was good. Scott seemed more grounded.  What's up with Lucy? Will Sasha return as Deception Spokesmodel? What about Lois at Deception?

Im really loving Tracy and Gregory.

    WTF with Ava/Nina.
    Ava checkin on Sonny's pills
