India.Arie's version is from 2006, but the original song is by Don Henley from 1989. Sex and the City started the whole trent of good music choices in TV series. Ella Fitzgerald's Blue Skies, that can also be heard in the trailer, is something I forgot about until it resurfaced in that trailer.

The show was also a lift-off for many famous writers and directors: Timothy Van Patten (do I really have to list his credits), Allan Arkush (Heroes), Eric Overmyer (Homicide: Life on the Street, The Wire), Terri Minsky (Less Than Perfect, Sex and the City, Cashmere Mafia).

I read a story once that Raquel Welch annoyed everyone on the show by constantly being late for shooting so John Barrowman got revenge by wiping his ass on one of her wigs.

Loved the show though. I rewatched some it recently and realised that I actually preferred it in the beginning before it went all Dynasty. There was something fresh about it for its time -- it had the trash factor but didn't necessarily come off quite as predictable as other shows. I certainly don't see that Mariel Hemmingway was a major problem.

I kind of didn't like the first two episodes, I can't really remember, and then things started off well suddenly. Near the end it really went Dynasty. But cheaply. I never quite bought the Diana/Allen pairing; of course it was pure interest, but had Diana been played by another actress, it would have been better.

Mariel was great in her role; in fact, I think she's the only idiotic character I liked (of all time).

And why do I hate Raquel Welch? Are you people kidding?!

I loved this show, too. I know it was unbelievable trash, but somehow I got hooked. I hated it at first, then something changed and I watched every single episode.

Mädchen Amick was the one I didn't like at first, then when the psycho Mark Merrill started haunting her, I couldn't wait for her to get him.

Mariel Hemingway's Stephanie was so stupid, yet funnily quite watchable. I hated the Euro-trash version of Kylie Travis's character...

Did anyone watch this (yet another) Darren Star soap opera? It ran on CBS from September 1995 to June 1996.

Oh, God, that was absolutely the worst character ever! I don't know what was more annoying – the actress playing her or the character herself! Such an annoying, dumb, naïve, awful character.

And she destroyed the zany Billy on the way.

I loved Taylor! It always surprises me to find that she's so hated because to me she was the only bright spot in a very dull sixth season. I didn't find her enjoyable in season 5 but as soon as they started playing to Lisa Rinna's strengths as a zany comedy character, I warmed to her. I still remmber the scene where she tried to convince Megan that she'd drugged Michael to rape him. Hilarious.

Loved it. She was just so stupid and ineffectual. Full of crazy schemes that wouldn't get her anywhere.

I hated her precisely because of that! I mean – how stupid can a person be! At times, it sure amused me, but for most of the time, I was screaming for her to get lost!

As for Jamie Luner, I liked her as the bad girl but I didn't like the transformation simply because it didn't have any logic to it. I think it's a travesty that Luner hasn't got a regular gig on TV, daytime or primetime. She oozes charisma.

Precisely. When she metamorphosed into a megabitch, she just became another trashy character. And I was quite mad at the writers because her story could have been a very good one had she stayed good.

I don't know either why Luner isn't a part of any daytime serial; maybe some EP is reading this and will consider hiring her. She was just so good on MP before they transformed her character.
