  1. This show is weirdly love triangle averse but today reminded me that an Emma/Gio/Trina triangle would’ve eliminated the need for Kai altogether.
  2. Maybe Ezra Boyle did it as a favor for Sidwell, to cover up the bribery and murder of Judge Heran? He’s certainly an expendable character.
  3. We’ve only had, what, 3 days of the trial, so I can’t say I’m bored yet. The best part has been Drew trying to bully Alexis about how to do her job. It’s as if the writers are trying to exorcise their frustration at every old blowhard straight white man they’ve ever had to work with lol. Does anyone else think the trial is a convenient way to get underused contract players to fulfill their guarantees before the end of the year? You have people like Liz and Kristina popping in for half an episode and Trina sitting there silently.
  4. I totally agree with this. Willow’s character arc is one of the show’s more coherent tbh. Cynthia Watros was so funny on Friday’s ep, sanitizing the office, etc.
  5. Howling at John trying not to out Susan Flannery via her relationship with Fannie Flagg.
  6. At least Swickard declined to shave his chest for once.
  7. I will never understand why another soap didn’t immediately snap up Avery Kristen Pohl.
  8. Sonny’s reaction when the rescued dogs rushed into his house was the most authentic take Mo’s delivered in years.
  9. I think the only thing left is to pair Joss with a woman. Cast Victoria Konefal as her new WSB handler and put them in a triangle with Kristina.
  10. Yeah, Gio’s offscreen origin story (the actor auditioned for one of the teen parts but was a little too old, yet Frank got 😍 and immediately created a contract role for him) led to a bit of “catch as catch can” as far as the character’s development is concerned. He did nothing but smile and play the violin for 11 months.
  11. I think Rory is a big improvement over Chad; he’s opened up a ton of new possibilities for that character. And yet, I find myself still wishing that he would loosen up a bit in the role. He’s a little…clenched? I felt bad for Trina having to rely on Kai for comfort after she belatedly found out Portia is pregnant and they carted Curtis off to the police station. If Spencer were there he would’ve followed them to the PCPD and started threatening lawsuits. Surprisingly effective: the argument between Marshall and Stella. Vernee Watson really sold the anger and the hurt. Obsessed with Alexis, Liz, and Nina’s faces of disgust during the wedding. Willow throwing a bouquet into a crowd of four was hilarious and Scout catching it was gross. The Brook Lynn and Gio scenes were nice and not too repetitive. The performers have a real rapport; Gio has turned into one of those actors who you can throw into a scene with anybody and he clicks.
  12. I really hope Laura doesn’t get reelected. She doesn’t deserve it. Imagine her campaign staff, freaking out at the Metro Court as election results come in while she’s hanging out with Sonny.
  13. Shannon Peace was the one who wrote for Trina in her heyday and since she left the character has been totally neutered. Tabyana was excellent in those scenes with Jordan (silly though they were) and it remains an embarrassment that she’s been this heavily sidelined for two full years.
  14. God, Carly is such a bitch (evergreen).
  15. When Britt “died” three years ago the only character she had even a wisp of maternal feeling for was Spencer. Because the show likes to pretend Spencer (and Nikolas for that matter) never existed, I feel like they’re just transposing that aspect of her character to Rocco.
  16. I mean it as sincere praise when I say he’s great at looking like he’s genuinely about to throw up.
  17. I mean it’s a *really* big house 😆
  18. I generally assume every man over 30 onscreen is utilizing some sort of hair system.
  19. It’s not that I expect Ned to be aligned with Tracy, but I do expect him to be skeptical of Ronnie. He’s supposed to be a ruthless corporate executive.
  20. I agree with everyone that stacking the deck against Tracy just makes the rest of the Qs (especially Ned) look like ungrateful simps. I thought Martin/Laura scenes were well written today. That sibling relationship is suddenly kind of interesting. Many on this board aren’t fans of Tanisha Harper’s performance, but I thought she was sharp and funny in today’s scenes opposite the always very good Brook Kerr.
  21. As icky as the Rocco/Britt storyline is, Emma asking Rocco to get close to Britt in order to get the info she was supposed to get from Dalton at least suggests that all this is finally going somewhere. Carlo Rota cracks me up. He plays Sidwell with a nonchalance that suggests he’d just as soon try this scheme the next town over once it fails in PC.
  22. Hard agree. To the degree that I want to see Carly at all, I want to see her being a hotheaded hypocrite who’s constantly picking catfights. (Also, let’s face it, no man will ever measure up to her weird dependency on Jason.)
  23. Mustache haters and the “why doesn’t he smile” crowd might enjoy these pics of Nicholas at last night’s Vogue World event in LA. (He’s sitting next to Bruce Bozzi, the husband of CAA CEO Bryan Lourd; if I were married to the head of CAA I would’ve made a similar seating choice.)
