  1. I see Ted Cruz won reelection.
  2. These idiot talking heads talking about which place has the best Philly Cheese steaks like they are so cute for being in the know. 🙄 I have no patience for their self indulgence.
  3. You're not alone. I'll never understand how anyone can vote for that man.
  4. Me too!
  5. [!@#$%^&*] Florida.
  6. ^ As far as the Russian government paying influencers, I have no doubt. Trump has said he will abandon Ukraine. I'm sure Iran, Russian and China are all trying to destabilize our nation by all available means. They're doing a good job of it as far as I can see.
  7. They are disgusting people for sure. I wonder how many people really have the stomach to see Trump's policies through? Really, you are going to watch millions of your neighbors being rounded up and deported and be just fine with that? I really want to believe that most people are better than that. Yes, I half think Musk is doing all of this because he wants to go to [!@#$%^&*] Mars. In any case, it's all about money for him.
  8. Wouldn't it be amazing if this ended up being a slam dunk for Kamala? Some of the billionaires on Trump's side are really pissing me off. Bill Ackman for example. He's out there suggesting that Democrats are going to take people's children because of that Peanut the squirrel incident. He's not crazy either, so he doesn't have that excuse. He's just outright lying and trying to scare people.
  9. It's interesting that Harris is leading so much with senior women. Those folks remember what it's like not to be able to have a credit card in your own name. What it means to go to the back alley or Mexico for an abortion too. Oh, and they vote. We'll never know if Biden would have won. Choosing Kamala was the dirtiest thing I remember the Democrats ever doing. We'll never know if it had to be done. I do think we had to pull out every stop to try to beat 45. As much as many of us disdain the people who worked for Trump last time, some of them said "no" when it came to it. This time he'll have his yes men in place and there will be far fewer people surrounding him who even want to say no.
  10. ^ I can't believe we are so close to having our first woman (of color) president, but if we don't we end up with Trump again. American society 2024 is wild. I'm pretty hopeful coming down to the wire. Also, until the last few weeks I had no idea so many women were still afraid to vote against their husband's wishes.
  11. If it had only happened 30 years ago, we might still have most of our soaps on the air. Everyone knew that black women made up a huge part of the soap audience and they didn't act on it. Y&R is the worst of the bunch, imo. Bill Bell set them up for success, but it was wasted.
  12. I still can hardly believe there is going to be a new soap. I cannot wait to watch.
  13. Me too, at least to some extent. I can't follow this election minute by minute like I did 2020. I remember enjoying politics, but I don't in the same way. Not when it feels more like life and death than a simple difference in policy. I am grateful that more of the Latino vote is moving to Kamala, but part of me is frustrated too. Wasn't it enough when he accused Haitian immigrants of eating pets? He brought violence upon that community with his lies. Wasn't it obvious then that he is more than happy to scapegoat immigrants if it suits his purpose? He has done this type of thing over and over, but some people seem to think he doesn't hate them until he mentions their group specifically.
  14. I've been on edge for quite awhile. Sadly, people who voted for him in 2016 were perfectly fine with both misogyny and Hitler. If anythings changed, it's that a new generation has gained admiration for Hitler, while believing they are nuanced, original thinkers. I do think Kamala is going to win, but the fact that it's even close is horrifying. Please God we cannot have these awful people in charge again.
  15. Of course, but as far as I can tell he hates both. What I was really trying to get at is I think this is just part of the far left that is always threatening to make things worse to make them better, Susan Sarandon style. I've seen polls showing that Jill Stein is doing well among these types. Hopefully, it won't be enough to make a difference. It makes me equally sad to watch poor and middle class white people vote for Trump due to hate. Hate seems like a stronger motivation than self preservation for far too many people. Some of them are so gleeful about it. I'm just hoping reason will prevail this time.
  16. I have to believe this is just a subset of people who want to burn everything down. Trump seems to really hate Arabs, even more than he hates everyone else. Muslims are the only ones he actually banned. I won't be surprised if he tried to do it again. He maybe losing his mind, but he's holding pretty tight to all the hate. I do feel hopeful about Kamala's chances, but I am astounded by how many people are sticking with Trump. This should not be a close race. I just cannot wait until we can all put that man in our rear view mirror once and for all.
  17. I seriously resent people who drive while intoxicated. It's just so selfish. What better way to show you don't GAF about anyone else's life. However, Walz made a mistake and then actively changed his ways and got sober. What else can you ask from people, but to learn and change? It just makes me like him more, tbh.
  18. Tim Walz talking about Vance. This is a great clip. When I first heard what Vance said I was livid for all the childless and child free women in my life, but then I realized what a gift that was to Harris. I hear that. In November 2016 I was celebrating our first woman President and counting our Supreme Court justices before they were nominated. Not this time. I'm glad to see how excited people are and I'm really happy for black women in particular, but I won't be celebrating until it's official.
  19. Yes, I really think she can do this. She's obviously strong enough to take whatever they can throw at her. I love that she isn't running away from her time as a prosecutor. She didn't make the law. She upheld the law as a sworn officer of the court. God bless J.D. Vance for showing the world what a tool he is right out of the gate. The cat lady comment was gold. It was such an insult to women as a whole.
  20. I really don't believe Israel can completely Hamas out without killing a lot more people (which they shouldn't). Gaza is much smaller than Iraq, so I think it's a little easier to destroy their military command centers. There's a reason diplomacy has failed over and over in this conflict. You have people who believe they are serving God by becoming martyrs versus the Jews who believe they need their own country and army to survive. What I've seen over the last eight months makes me think they are right. It's tragic.
  21. Yes, but not because they want to leave the hostages in Gaza and Hamas to regroup. Honestly, it makes me sick that I have to vote for the party that those disgusting protesters are a part of. They make Democrats look like a bunch of terrorist supporting crackpots. They were literally cheering for Hamas and raising their flag. I'm sure preventing Jewish students from going to their classes, boycotting Jewish business and shooting up Jewish day schools was all to free Gaza though. The open antisemitism is horrific, but not that surprising. Not to mention all that death to America bullshit. No thank you. It doesn't even matter to me that this was funded by Iran. They found enough people to go along with them. Still, as disgusted as I am that some leaders in our party are rape denying shills of Iran, I will still vote D. You don't even have to say. Even JD Vance knows what he is. That's what makes him even more despicable.
  22. Many of these girls are running away from home because of sexual abuse. As for using feminine whiles, I had to do it one time just to get pain relief during child birth I kid you not. Not exactly in a sexual way, but the nurses told me the anesthesiologist was egotistical and a misogynist. I had to flatter him and fluff up his ego to get what I need in time. It still makes me sick to think about it nine years later. Sometimes a woman's gotta do what a woman's gotta do. So far every criticism of Harris just makes me like her and relate to her more.
  23. Do you remember when Trump's advisors came up with a plan to tackle him if he tried to use the nuclear football? I just can't believe he's even on the ticket again after that came out. Anyone who thinks they aren't going to be directly affected by having that man in office again is sorely mistaken. If he doesn't get us nuked, the environmental deregulation alone will speed up the climate crisis. The second point I highlighted is so true. I get the frustration people feel right now. I have no compassion for anyone who votes for him, but many innocent people are trying to stand against him. They do not deserve to have this madman in charge again. Of course, but you aren't a Jew hater. Antisemitism has been off the charts recently.
  24. I've seen this type of comment several times on my feed. Are we really supposed to pretend that being Jewish isn't a potential problem? I don't think acknowledging reality makes us bigots. That's one area where the far right and far left come together. The demand that people deny facts and reality astounds me.
