  1. It was mostly a treat for me, too, but there's one thing that bothers me: Macdonald Carey had a distinctive voice, and we still hear it on the Days introduction. Young Tom's voice doesn't sound anything like Carey's voice to me. I find it difficult to believe they couldn't find anyone who naturally sounds reminiscent of Carey or can make himself sound somewhat like him.
  2. The only thing is that the Victoria/Ashland wedding of a few summers back felt like months, to me at least. So this summer it's the Dumas fรชte. I noticed that one of us, ranger1rg, has predicted the following... It could go like that. But it also could be more like a repeat of Victoria/Ashland, only this time, I could see it feeling like the better part a year. (For example, we'll see all of them unpacking their suitcases and choosing several ensembles to wear for several evenings of the party. Then each Y&R regular attending the party gets introduced, plus a few new people, but not Dumas, of course. Then various invitees make speeches to compliment other invitees. Blah, blah, blah... And ultimately, we may or may not see Dumas on camera at some point.) The only prediction I feel really comfortable making is that the length of the party will NOT be a "happy medium." ๐Ÿ˜’
  3. Thank you, Aragorn, since I'd been wondering whether Lindstrom's role on BTG meant no more GH or, as you indicated, he'll be doing both.
  4. You have to admit that dying is a tough penalty for failing a test!!! And Brennan was gobsmacked that Joss brought a gun to her test! I've been watching GH for over 10 years (as it happened, I didn't get into this show until the other ABC soaps were cancelled), and this "test" is the dumbest thing I've ever seen on GH. By far.
  5. Also starring Josh Kelly and Patrick Gibbons And Gina Tognoni in the occasional female roles. And we'd call this this particular group the "dream team!"

  7. The possibilities are endless... --Daphne tries a new whole body deodorant the next time she goes to Forrester and it clashes with her perfume. --Daphne, Carter, and Hope order in beans and franks for lunch. When all three fart at the same time, it doesn't go too well with Daphne's perfume. --Daphne goes back to old-school underarm deodorant. But one day, she runs out of it. She figures her perfume will mask any underarm odor. Boy, is she proven wrong--not only do Carter and Hope pass out, but the stench even stops that weird music that usually accompanies her perfume wearing.๐Ÿ˜ฌ OK, if you're still reading this, you've suffered enough and I'll stop.
  8. I won't be watching either, but I heard snippets of dialogue today. I now have a strong suspicion that Leo Stark is the head writer.
  9. Hmmm...am I to understand that tomorrow the three traditional-network soaps will be replaced by another soap?
  10. No, Contessa, you weren't, I didn't have a winning Bingo card either. In isolation, I found getting this unexpected reveal refreshing. But looking at the big picture of soaps in recent years, I found it to be a "crumb," where a decent percentage of viewers should be receiving at least somewhat regular "full slices of cake."
  11. Yes, IMHO this current "drivel" sets a new low for B&B.
  12. Abc, I agree both that Cam needs to be brought back and that WL/Cam was treated awfully. But if GH decides to recast, I hope they take their time. IMHO, WL is a real standout in the role, and with him as the "baseline," I'd expect that the vast majority of recasts wouldn't work very well. I think GH would be best off to see how WL's Amazon show does. If the show does well, maybe that's where WL fans will get our WL "fix." But if the Amazon show tanks, I vote for GH being conciliatory toward WL and either hiring him to appear at least fairly regularly, or if he wants to pursue other things, hiring him for brief runs at least, let's say, quarterly. Only one problem with this--I concede I'm not being very realistic.โ˜น๏ธ
  13. Ms Jimenez was particularly strong in Friday's episode IMHO.
  14. I agree it would have been a good time for Gio to talk about his accent or even upbringing as well. ๐Ÿ˜
  15. Oh, I wasn't thinking Gio had a voice coach or anything. Sorry, carolineg, I mis-remembered that. I still think it would have been nice if they'd given us one sentence re why Gio doesn't have an accent. (Gio seems to have a lack of self-awareness that he's lived a lot of his life in Brooklyn but doesn't have the accent.) But thinking more from a "big picture" perspective, it doesn't affect my overall mostly positive opinion of GH. I am so against this Lois storyline!!!! On one hand, I initially viewed this situation with Lois as another missed opportunity for an explanation of Gio's lack of a Brooklyn accent. (I was just waiting for Gio to say something like, "After I left Brooklyn, people kept telling me what a heavy accent I had. So I worked on losing it. But now, I'm a little sorry I did," or something else along those lines.) On the other hand, caroline and Contessa, you're both making a lot of sense. Lois isn't the right person to have this sort of storyline. And nobody else currently on GH is, so IMHO the writers might have done better to save this idea in their files for a possible future character with a strong accent. But even if they end up doing that, it should be an EXTREMELY minor part of the show. I'm from the South. "Nuff said. But also I am so impressionable. People around me talk a certain way, ... me, too. Yes, even though this didn't happen with my Brooklyn relatives, naturally taking on the accent in a person's environment isn't uncommon. Perhaps the fact that someone can naturally take on a local accent can explain Gio's apparent lack of self-awareness that he doesn't speak (as my Brooklyn-raised aunt once called it) Brooklynese. And with that, I'll sign off on my thoughts about accents.
  16. OK, here I go again about Gio's lack of a Brooklyn accent. (I initially brought it up on page 7 of this thread, and carolineg--who made some great points--and I continued the discussion off and on until page 9). On today's episode, Lois, in response to some jerk who saw her appearance on Home and Heart and then criticized her accent, asks Gio for his opinion re whether she should try to lose it. Now, in our previous discussion, carolineg (and please excuse my paraphrasing) had suggested that Gio, while at Juilliard, might have gone to a voice coach to lose his accent. That certainly seemed like a plausible explanation to me. If that had been what the writers had decided had happened, today's discussion could have been something like the following (in brief summary form)... Lois tells Gio about the criticism about her accent. She then tells him that his accent used to be heavier than hers--how did he manage to lose it? He then tells her about the voice coach. With that, we then have a great explanation of Gio's lack of a Brooklyn accent, and maybe a small amount of additional plot when Lois goes to the same voice coach to lose hers. Instead, we have Gio nonchalantly responding to Lois in his seemingly (to me, at least) general American accent that she should be proud of her Brooklyn accent. I like the spirit of what Gio said, but with the background he's been given, it's just so unrealistic to me. Now that I've had my latest say on Gio's accent, I have something more consequential. Last week's acting by Mansi and Vaganos was absolutely superlative IMHO. Major kudos to both of them!
  17. Ahhh So, he's her depersonalized super-ego. Who knew Carlvatti's team was so Freudian? ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜‰ True, I didn't see that coming. (Will wonders never cease? ๐Ÿ˜‰)
  18. I took ghost-Li's disagreement re Melinda as an attempt to give a little more dimension to Connie's character, ie, there's some small part of her that's sane. When ghost-Li tells Connie not to kill Melinda, "sane Connie"--however small that part of her is--is being given voice. However, if that's actually what they were going for, that minimal "helping" of "sanity" doesn't help anything IMHO: Connie is still a major mess.
  19. Haha, I know comparing Bold even to the worst of trash (Not The Twilight Zone of course) will be offensive to that piece of trash! ๐Ÿคฃ ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ
  20. And the sheer hilarious aspect that it's the 64 year old who is still going to be parading around in lingerie and acting like the Bedroom queen, while this... younger 40ish looking woman is going to be the prude telling her it's not right and that she doesn't have morals... is like an episode of the Twilight Zone. The Twilight Zone is one of my all time favorite shows. However, if you put "a lame imitation of" between "an episode of" and "the Twilight Zone," I'd totally buy that.
