- Good on Anita and Chelsea for calling out Katherine for her behaviour. She should be called out like this.
- Look at the child bride, eavesdropping on what is genuine chemistry between two people who are meant to be together.
- Anita is a true matriarch; her passion for those within her family continues to shine through brighter than the previous time.
- Aw, Andre is heartbroken at Ashley telling him she is engaged to the wrong man.
- Well, now Shanice knows Derek has been lying about his being able to feel things in his right leg. No bueno.
- Child bride, your scheme is not going to work. It truly is not, especially if Katherine has her say about it.
- Katherine, that was desperate and sounded like you rehearsed what you felt like Tomas would want to hear on the way over to Orphey Gene's.
- Bill is totally threatened by Tomas' presence, but he should not be.

- The continued electricity between Timon Kyle Durrett (Bill) and Karla Mosley (Dani) is SPARKING! I totally know these two will be reunited by Christmastime.

- Keeping Up with the Duprees? Oh, please spare me that reference. I cannot.
- Poor Ted probably dreamt that happened, and with Nicole of all people.
- Aw, at least June is trying to get the hang of it, right? Her personality fits, but execution needs some help.
- It is nice to see Eric giving June a chance at Orphey Gene's.
- I appreciate the continued talking between Anita and her family members, especially her children. That relationship should be very well seen, and I appreciate seeing it
- Dana is delusional; she took advantage of someone not in their right mind, used them for sexual gratification, and cannot take "no" for an answer. Seek help, Dana. Seek it, fast!
- I understand Samantha's need for a female POV in her life, and I also understand everyone else's hesitation for her wanting to reach out to June, but it is Samantha's choice at the end of the day.
- Wow. So that customer is going to stand up for June? That is very, very sweet of her to do! I love that.
Notes:
- As I said yesterday, I love that Orphey Gene's is going to have a recurring employee we will be seeing from time to time and not random under-fives (if at all). Building from within with some established characters and actors.
- The inclusion of "Forever Bae" was amazing. Such a nice, unique touch. Hope more of this happens.

- Oh, Hi June! I love to see her actually get a job and begin picking the pieces back up in her life. That is a sign of positive things to come for her.
- Bradley and Nicole have a lovely relationship as in-laws. But, if Bradley is to forgive the deadbeat, are you going to forgive Ted, Nicole? Hmm...?
- Speaking of Ted, he is three (almost four) sheets to the wind and just living by the seat of his pants. Good on you, Ted. Let loose.
- Anita and Vernon are the typical parents/grandparents... wanting to enjoy their solitude, until Dana comes-a-knockin' at their front door.
- Colonial Georgian? And it is being torn down? Oh Lord. Ugh. Her ideas sound beyond tacky. Just like her. Please spare us the design.
- Eva, keep your trap SHUT! Now "mawmuh" is going to go manipulate Teddy to get her way.
- Alexa, play "Bringing on the Heartbreak" for Miss Shanice. Girl, you said you were stepping aside. So accept it.
- Go Vernon, calling the board head! Vernon will be stopping the sale and demolishment of the property for her "shouse". Good on him.
- Now, Miss Dana, this feels cheap and exploitative. I would have hoped it was above you, but I guess not. Oh Dana, this is not OK. Taking advantage of someone not in their right mind.
- I am going to need deadbeat to back down. Sir, you live on the couch. Know your damn place.
- Poor June. She is absolutely buckling, which is natural, but she has to give herself a fighting chance!!

- Jasmine Burke (June) is a marvelous find, and it makes me happy to see that she is actually sticking around and that Orphey Gene's is going to have a recurring employee we will be seeing from time to time and not random under-fives.
- Keith D. Robinson (Ted) keeps nailing his scripts, and his work as a drunk Ted is BRILLIANT! I have never been drunk, but I would buy it.
- Tamara Tunie (Anita) is giving facial expressions that sell a story, and I am HERE for it.

As irritating as Ashley can be, it’s obvious JJ has some talent that’s not being harnessed properly. Her heavy-handed introduction and obnoxious behavior (which the writers don’t seem to have a clear perspective on, even after nearly seven months) were never going to play well. Why is she on this show other than as “a way in” for white viewers à la Piper on OITNB? Even white viewers can’t stand Ashley from what we’ve seen.
Glad someone else sees the potential in Jen Jacob; it is just obvious the writing for Ashley does not benefit her enough.
