ARTICLE: Erika Slezak Wraps Limited Run On ‘General Hospital’ Same Day She Debuts In Port Charles
Aww...that's sweet she had a nice OLTL cast/crewmates reunion. I wonder who's going to end up owning/managing the Quartermaine mansion now.

GH: September 2025 Discussion Thread
This week was great! Definitely the best week since the Nurse's Ball because of the Drew/Willow/Michael story and the Britta/WSB story. Finally, humor and sarcasm is back at General Hospital with the Britch hopefully back as chief of staff. Highlight was the mother-daughter reunion and the slap I'd been anticipating. This is probably the best character return since Brenda's first return in the early 2000s. Thank goodness they didn't waste her away all isolated for months and months like they did with Brenda. I'm liking how the plot is keeping things moving, overall. If they're going to have any story involving teenagers, the actor playing Rocco (or the actor playing Jake) deserves it. He's so much more natural and authentic than all the other college/high school age kids on the show. I didn't watch GH back when Ben/Rocco was born when they had that terrible Lulu recast, but I love how they've connected his origin story with so many characters on the canvas now. I'm glad Britt will end up having a good relationship with Ben, sort of like the way she had with Spencer. Lulu & Dante are so annoyingly insufferable most of the time, so it's nice seeing Britt knock them off their holier-than-thou pedestals.

ARTICLE: Drew Cain Is Shot On ‘General Hospital’: Who Pulled The Trigger? (PROMO)
I hope Drew's not permanently dead and is faking his own death to frame somebody (though Anna & Dante talking about his murder in that promo indicate he's dead-dead). Cameron Mathison and the writing for the character have been great for the past year, but it's been heavy-handed how so many characters hate him lately. Killing him off is killing off so many future soapy stories they could have with a philandering politician and Quartermaine scion. Most of the characters that hate him are worthless and should have been killed off eons ago, instead, starting with Sonny, Carly, Kristina, Kai, Trina, Stella, Portia and Nina.

ARTICLE: ABC Sets Season 29 Premiere Date For ‘The View’
Horrible show. The curse of Baba Wawa continues. Trump should do one good thing for TV, instead of destroying decent shows like CBS' 60 Minutes and The Late Show, he should have destroyed ABC's The View.

I completely agree with Frank Valentini or whichever writer puts in all those Easter egg references to Llanview, Pine Valley, Corinth and The City. The scripts are funnier and richer with those winking homages that link Port Charles to its sister soap history, a history that is rich in cross-overs since the 1990s when you had GH characters show up on those other soaps. There is no less GH history on screen simply because Erica Kane, Enchantment, The Banner or whatever is referenced or that you have an actor playing a character named (Tad) Martin. All of the ABCDaytime soaps exist in a single fictional universe and since GH is the only show remaining, it's super cute, adorable and appropriate to have those little Easter egg winks/nudges to keep that rich daytime history stayin' alive!

Thursday's show was great! The Molly romance novel having Delilah & Clint Buchanan character names is such a sweet homage to One Life To Life. Cody had such great scenes with Tracy, Felicia and Ava. He was looking so delicious working that hay, too. 😜 Loved the Drew/Willow reunion with Nina seeing them hug at the end, LOL. I hope this show keeps Drew in this gray area and doesn't turn him into a loser like AJ and then killed off. The worst part of the episode was Sonny/Michael/Diane winning once again against Drew.

ARTICLE: ‘Desperate Housewives’ Creator Marc Cherry Details Evolution Of Writing Career On ‘Soapy Hosted By Rebecca Budig And Greg Rikaart’ (EXCLUSIVE)
I wish Marc Cherry would write more shows. So funny, so entertaining. "Why Women Kill" should have had more seasons. "Devious Maids" and "Desperate Housewives" were great, too.

Good Friday cliffhangers with Britt coming face to face with Jason, Joss shooting the gun, Stella getting caught for insurance fraud, Drew goading Michael into assaulting him. 🤣 The worst parts of the show were Sonny and the kids, but I guess they served their plot purpose. The ADA Turner character actress is pretty, but is being totally wasted. The least they could have done story-wise for that character is make her a recast of the Nikki Cox character from the early 1990s. Is Sonny ever going to face justice for killing FBI agent Wagger? Doesn't Jagger have a hot son and sister out there wondering what happened to him? Sonny needs the death sentence and ADA/AUSA Gina Cates should give it to him with an assist from her PI nephew who looks like Antonio Sabato Jr in the "Love Will Never Do (Without You)" music video. Finally rid Port Charles of the mob, then reconnect with his maternal grandfather Scott Baldwin who finally gets justice for Karen by seeing Sonny executed.

Thursday's show was terrible because it's the first time where I couldn't stand Laura Spencer. I cannot believe a foundational character that built General Hospital is propping up that useless urchin Sonny saying she's "the problem" in their relationship. WTF are these writers thinking/doing?! I wish they'd retire Sonny permanently so he doesn't keep ruining all of GH's great characters. The other gross thing this week was Brooklyn calling him "Uncle Sonny" repeatedly now that she knows she had a son with the son of her "Uncle Sonny." Ick! Drew was delicious, as usual, but I wish he didn't shut down Molly so quickly. They could definitely do a messy, soapy story of Molly hooking up with her dead sister's ex the way Hunter Biden hooked up with his dead brother's wife. 😝 Willow breaking up Chase & Brooklyn would be great, too. Loved Jordan's new apartment set with its great windows and exteriors. So cool that this effortlessly elegant character has gotten multiple dedicated fictional homes and career advancements on this show. It's so refreshing to see GH not have a colorist bias and realize what a dark & lovely (and superior) gem she is (nice of them to rectify the unjust way they treated Keesha Ward or Vanita Harbor's Dara on GH). This rekindling of a triangle with Curtis and Portia really salvages those 2 usually loser characters. The best part of that story is, obviously, Dr. Isaiah Hannen Gannon Buchanan. Even though he'd be better with Elizabeth, Willow, Molly or virtually any female on the show, I'll take him on GH as much as possible.

I'm watching him mugging the screen with amateur level intensity whenever he has to express anger/surprise/shock. He was fine during the Nurse's Ball story climax, but his line readings are terribly stilted and his facial expressions are distracting and too goofy for dramatic GH scenes. He'd be fine as a comic-relief character if he was playing Spinelli or something, but he is certainly not the second coming of the actors that played Spencer Cassadine. I wish I could screen cap some of his goofy mugging (like Kristina falling into the pool), but I'm not tech savvy or invested enough to rewatch that crap. This clip was edited to remove some of the seconds, but he's still the worst actor in all these scenes:

Another good episode on Wednesday. Weakest point was the cartoon intensity Passions-level acting by the Gio actor and his stale storyline that should have ended right after the Nurse's Ball. He is the worst actor on the show currently and even the younger actors playing Rocco and Danny are more subtle and natural in scenes. Loved the Alexis-Drew stand off at the end with Alexis in tears. So perfectly dramatic! I really hope they don't make Drew too over-the-top in his terrible misdeeds (so far it's been perfect)...he needs to stay on the canvas permanently. Hopefully Monica's eventual death will reunite the Quartermaines (to a degree). I love that Drew's targetting Stella for the insurance fraud. Finally Stella has a god purpose on the canvas being the Luigi Mangione of General Hospital, helping (Tad) Martin out of insurance denial hell. 😅

Another great episode on Tuesday with the cliffhanger showdowns of Joss seeing Britt alive and Drew demanding Danny's arrest. The highlight of the episode was my new fave DarkWillow slapping Lucas in the best show of workplace violence at General Hospital in forever. Willow as a character has gotten so good & so fun after this Drew relationship and no longer being a boring goody-goody victim. The actress is fantastic and a beauty ( like Hunter Tylo in the 1980s/1990s). I hope we continue to have tons of soapy Drew-Willow-Michael drama to come. Just keep the kids off-screen where they belong!

Agreed 100%! I hope we see more of the Cody/Tracy/Ava angle. The show is so much better without Sonny. Joss is the only younger adult on the show currently with anything interesting going on story-wise. The current Carly pairing is perfect. I like her as a supporting character that's less in-your-face. This umbrella story of Britt returning has been good so far. I wonder who the Dalmatian wizard of Oz is!
