Natalie was way better actress than Susan Lucci's daughter...

Travis is better on some of the primetime stuff I've seen him in, but no one watched Passions for the acting anyway.

Travis’s naked butt can be seen in season 2 of The OA.

What the [!@#$%^&*] did I just watch??? & was Travis always this hammy

I actually liked Natalie better as Gwen

    Of course you would. 🙄🙄

Someone should’ve let me know in advance that SON is a Passions/JER hate board.

Gnat was the KeMo of PSNS. Sleepwalked through all her scenes. Andrea Evans had to carry her sad, sorry ass.

Liza was perfect at playing an evil, arrogant, rich bitch. I constantly wanted to punch her for all the terrible things she did to Theresa. When I found out Gnat was gone and Liza was back, I did a little happy dance around my living room...lol

I'd have to counter that a soap which remained firmly in the toilet of the ratings for its entire run (either in last place or occasionally second-to-last place) never had a successful season.

Wrong. Passions was a pop culture phenomenon and always popular with young people.

    Welcome to my ignore list.

  4. Passions haters needn’t be posting in this thread. I don’t post in the lame GL or my ATWT or AMC threads. I hated those soaps so I don’t feel the need to talk about them. I’m just glad they’re gone. I enjoy myself in silence.

Passions was popular for ages 12-17 but thats not the demo advertisers want & thats what TV exces care about

Neat, John. The show still ran for 9 successful seasons and was the last time young people were interested in soap operas. ☺️

  6. JER was a soap god. He was better than the “greats” like Bill Bell, who was boring AF. JER knew how to give good soap. Passions was always entertaining. It defined my teen years and early 20s and will always be a part of me.

I am glad Ron is at Days. He has given me the JER 3.0 I expected but didn’t get from MarDar. Days is back to its true self finally!

This poster seems familiar, reminds me of another. Hmmm

JER sucked, let's face it, he was a hack. He's the reason it's hard for people to take Days all that seriously

JER was far from a hack. His ratings success with Days led to NBC commissioning his own soap. A soap, may I remind you, that was always popular with young people.

JER redefined Days. He made the show watchable and saved it from cancellation twice. He created some of the all-time best Days characters like Susan and gave us iconic stories like the Possession.

It is one thing to dislike someone and it’s another to completely make up falsities to push your agenda.

And another one bites the dust!

  8. I’ve been watching since Genie came back and Diane has only appeared twice in that time.

Anyway, there’s no need to be rude or post mean memes. Please be courteous of other people’s feelings. I’m a sensitive person and not a fan of being attacked. This is twice now you’ve posted rude memes at me. A third will land you on my ignore list. Thank you, and take care of yourself.

I don't think they had a choice since Wallow didn't even have a name when Diane started as her attorney.

None of it matters as Kali/Wallow/Whiny Smurf will be Ninny's daughter and unrelated to any Miller on the canvas.....

Diane wasn’t revealed to be her attorney until the Nurses Ball.

If the last name thing was a mistake, I don’t think GH would try to draw attention to it by having them share scenes.

  10. NBC isn’t going to put another soap on NBC, but I could see them trying a telenovela format for streaming, if they’re working on one like Warner Bros.

I gave up after a month, but did check in occasionally.

I appreciated it for what it was, but I never felt this was actually what JER had in mind when he created it and when it launched in 1999. I always felt he could never get what he wanted off the ground and gave up after a certain point when he realized it was a losing situation. That's when they started to sell the show as a "parody of soaps" something that it was never promoted as when it debuted.

As I mentioned, I do think the premise of the show can work in more creative hands.

But you can’t GET more creative than JER. He was a creative genius.

  11. They’re only contracted to air until September 2020. Once they reach that point in filming, production will probably go on hiatus until a renewal decision is made.

That being said, if it is cancelled, and I hope that’s not the case, I could see NBC allowing it to air until the end of the year so they can celebrate the 55th anniversary onscreen in November.

NBC owns the show, unless they want to license it to someone else (which they did with DirectTV), there will not be a revival. I don't know if they care much about the show to offer it via streaming.

Though, it would actually be interesting if they rebooted it with a brand new cast, a writer who specialized in gothic storytelling, and a stronger and more creative producer who could bring that to life. There was nothing wrong with premise of the show - it was the execution that left a lot of be desired.

The execution was the best part. I assume you stopped watching after the first week because it would be odd to continue to watch something you hated. 😉

NBC isnt gonna start or restart a daytime Drama. They basically do anything to keep DAYS alive

Sweet Jesus Christ. My post was clearly talking about a STREAMING SERVICE, John!!!

Cast may be down but will a prod company or Network want to air it/Produce it

Since NBC Universal owns it, probably them. Aren’t they working on a steaming service? A Passions revival to help launch a Universal streaming service would help set it apart from other streaming services.
