  1. When Allie said she wasn’t signing the papers and Sonny looked at Will, why was Will smiling about that? I immediately thought about you guys on this board, someone should have called him out on that it completely took me out of the story smh

Chloe saying she couldn’t imagine Eve being the one who blew up the church, then casually remembering more and more odd things about Eve through the whole episode with each passing scene had me rolling my eyes but I love seeing Nadia on my screen

Quite a few folks on Twitter are asking if she can remain on as Sam or play another character.

The social media love for Lindsay is big right now, I’m sure the powers that be will likely add her to the show in some capacity.

I'm am but I'm a bit worn out with Jurnee Smollet as the go to mulatto.

I’ve been a fan of hers since Eve’s Bayou so I watch anything she’s in, I don’t think I can get worn out from her haha... actually, it’s because of her that I learned about this series existing in the first place. Her and the fact that Jordan Peele is attached gives me hope, JJ Abrams not so much but we’ll see.

  4. Passions really lost a lot of its magic, in my opinion, after the passing of Josh Ryan Evans and the departures of Jesse Metcalfe and Molly Stanton as Miguel and Charity. They along with Tabitha were the core of the supernatural elements and without that it always felt like PSNS was missing something. They brought more supernatural stories back towards the end and with Endora, but it wasn’t the same.

I believe I’ve mentioned it before on this board, but JER passed away very shortly after the show wrapped. Had it been renewed for an additional season it would’ve been interesting to see who would’ve taken over headwriting duties and how the show would’ve looked. Would they have promoted from within with Marlene and Darrell (whom both went on to DAYS,) or would they have brought on someone new? Ron C I think could’ve wrote the show well given his style of writing.

I actually love how "unlikeable" the show makes Julie. It would have been so easy to sweeten the character up and turn her into a kind of Alice clone. But the way they write Julie, you can absolutely believe this is the same character who, in the show's first episode, was arrested for trying to shoplift a mink coat.

Ahh I see, makes sense, I only started watching DAYS shortly before the time jump so as a relatively new viewer this reasoning makes sense regarding Julie.

I wasn’t watching when Ben was the necktie killer either so for me I think it’s easier to accept the Cin pairing based off of what I’ve seen, but I know within the fandom, specifically this board, they aren’t well received together.

It is what it is. It’s at the point where I’ll take what I can get.

I thought the wedding was one of the best I’ve seen on DAYS in a long time. Too bad Eric and Nicole couldn’t get that

Agreed, they may not have been my choice to have the wedding at the church given the recent wedding options, but I thought it was well done and overall enjoyable.

Is it just me, but I don’t find Julie likeable, she annoys me so much lol

  7. I recently moved to LA and was able to meet almost the entire cast of PSNS during the most recent fan event they had in LA and I must say they are all super sweet people and it was great seeing them all at once. I even had tickets to see the documentary premiere that was supposed to be at Universal Studios this year but of course it was canceled due to COVID.

This year I had planned to go to the Day of Days event but didn’t get the chance, would like to meet the cast from DAYS next.

I heard that Timmy was supposed to come back as an angel.

You're correct, there would have been scenes of Timmy as an angel in heaven. By this point on the show Timmy had been a real boy and “died” due to Zombie Charity. The scenes in heaven as an angel would have played out to bridge the gap between his death and his eventual resurrection later that summer that was planned, where Timmy would’ve come back as a doll. Josh filmed most of his scenes as an angel but the show cut many of them and publicly stated they would not air them.

In an interview with E! News, after further review, the producers decided to air 2 episodes of Timmy in heaven as an angel to give closure to the fans and audience at home, the rest were scrapped. Obviously, Josh died in real life the same day his character Timmy died on the show, and Timmy was never resurrected as planned, and Cracked Connie just sort of remained until her eventual exit with the new doll, Cecil. Timmy and Connie were to butt-heads.

But, as has been intimated here on many occasions, Ken Corday panicked when viewers balked at the number of core characters being killed off and asked Reilly to rewrite the entire story.

Yikes, I can only imagine how that conversation went. It’s no secret Corday and Reilly didn’t get along at all, and even to this day Ken will throw digs at Reilly even in death. This makes me remember something soap columnist and one of Jim Reilly’s good friends wrote, Marlena De Lacroix in memory of Jim.

She met with Jim for lunch in 1992 when she was in town and Reilly being a recluse rarely met with anyone. She said as they ate he kept saying “I won’t come out for anyone. Bill Bell, yes, and you, yes. And especially not for Ken (Corday, by then his hated DAYS boss).” But when he said things like that, he didn’t sound bitchy. He just laughed and laughed. Jim always laughed.”

And that was only 1992! Lol

Does anyone know if @Toups ever had the opportunity to interview Jim? I know how much he loved him.

On a side note, when it comes to Passions. I know a lot of viewers have commented the show tried to replace Timmy with Cracked Connie after Josh Ryan Evans death. Director Phideaux Xavier has gone on record saying that that’s not true. The original story would have had Timmy resurrected from the dead later that summer and seen a rival between the two dolls representing good vs. evil. Cecil would have never existed.

Passions event next month at Universal Studios Hollywood has been canceled due to concerns of COVID-19.

Does anyone know if the documentary will still be released despite the red carpet event being canceled?

DAYS broke when JER came back for his second stint, which was also the same time, IMO, that Passions started to really decline. I don't know how Reilly thought he can handle the demands and the pressure of writing two 60 minute soaps simultaneously. The greats struggled when they were writing two 30 minutes soaps. A mid-level soap writer like Reilly had no chance.

Agreed, Jim’s 2nd stint at DAYS wasn’t the greatest although I did enjoy his first run.

Passions too was effected by Jim heading to DAYS for round 2, that was around the time Sheridan and Antonio were paired together and they couldn’t tell him she was with Luis, how excruciating that storyline was. The exits of longtime faves Molly Stanton and Jesse Metcalfe, and death of Josh Ryan Evans a year earlier didn’t help things either. Those 3 exits all but obliterated the supernatural aspects of the show that seemed to make PSNS magical, special and work. It was the perfect blend.

The years that followed seemed more like watching out of loyalty with a few good things here and there like crazy Beth, and the show almost seemed completely different despite long running storylines like Theresa/Ethan/Gwen still remaining. You could tell there was a clear divide in the fandom between the newer viewers rooting for Fancy/Luis and the longtime viewers that still longed for Sheridan/Luis. Fancy winning that battle seemed like a major FU to longtime viewers that were their from the beginning but at least Theresa got her Ethan.

Had the show got a 10th year I can’t imagine anyone headwriting the show except perhaps Ron Carlivati.

However, I would imagine Marlene Clark Poulter and Darrell Ray Thomas would have been promoted instead of moving to DAYS.

Ron Carlivati recently revealed on Twitter that he proposed a vampire spin off for OLTL in 2008 that would’ve been called OLTL: Resurrection. Obviously it didn’t happen but that furthers my thinking that Ron would’ve been a good replacement after Jim’s passing had the show got a 10th season.

  13. With this documentary screening at Universal Studios and the Passions fan festival a few years ago, NBC has been treating PSNS well after death in terms of fan service. I’d like to see these things done with other soaps as well, specifically Sunset Beach.
