Well, Joey Branning has been cast:

I wouldn't be surprised if he was on his way out soon too.
Shona already said she doesn't plan to stay much longer apparently, so hopefully Whitney and Tyler are written out later this year....

Couldn't they get rid of Tyler while they're at it too?
0 -
Well, that was fast.
Michelle Collins apparently quit.

I liked Bet's 1995 exit, but she clearly left as a broken woman and there was a depressing overtone to the whole thing. At least Elsie and Hilda had happy endings.
I also think Julie Goodyear had issues with the management on the show at the time. I don't think she left on good terms with the producers at the time.

Probably the best farewell to a beloved iconic character on a UK soap:

Live episode confirmed for the 40th Anniversary:

Oh dear, now Jo Joyner is taking an extended break...
http://www.dailystar...-ve-got-to-Jo-/
This one sounds like more than a break, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see Tanya again, or at least for a few years...
Though, I guess this one makes you happy, Carl.

I think the being a brunette suits Katherine Kelly. I think it's her natural colour too.
She sort of looks like an old Hollywood star now.
Even though Becky was torture to watch from 2008 onwards, I think she deserved her Best Exit award, as it was one of the few times in recent years Corrie did any exit/final episode properly.

I don't even recognize 90% of the actors in this clip, goes to show how much I've cared about this show over the past year and a half.

Ian will be around, Adam hasn't said anything about an extended break yet.
Someone at the BBC should offer Sue Tully the world to come back and reprise Michelle. I know John Yorke said said they would never recast Michelle, as Sue and the character and too integral to a huge part of the show's history.
So basically the people Sharon knows and who will be around when she returns are Ian, Phil, Lucy, Billy, Kat, Mo, Alfie, and Patrick and I guess Mandy might have some overlap with Sharon's reappearance.

I'm sad that Sharon and Dot won't be able to share scenes when Sharon returns due to June's break.
Oh well, at least June isn't leaving for good.
Actually, they'll probably be leaning on Sharon a lot again (they were always going to regardless) due to so many being on break this year. I wonder if they'll introduce some of Sharon's biological family.

Now June Brown's taking a 6 month break to write her autobiography...
http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/tv-film-news/eastenders-dot-cotton-actress-june-811904
This is worrying and weird that so many actors are taking a break at roughly the same time...

Kirkwood's name will probably appear in the credits until June/July.
Newman is the one likely planning Sharon's return or adjusting it from what Kirkwood might have initially had in mind. I think her name will probably appear in the credits just before Sharon comes back.
They seem to be keeping whatever plans they have for Sharon away from the press. Nothing has leaked so far, and we initially expected her back in the summer. I don't think Letitia has started filming yet though, so I wonder if Sharon comes back in late summer (August/September).

It looks like Lorraine Newman is staying on as the new EP permanently. The cast in interviews seem to assume so...

Well, looks like Charlie and Sid presented Pam her Lifetime Achievement award, which is lovely.

Ethel pops up in this 1995 episode for Ruth's hen party.
I didn't think she was still making appearances at this point. I know she didn't appear at all by the late 90's, and only came back in 2000 for her euthanasia story.

I never really liked Peggy and Frank, but the location work was beautifully done.
I understand why they wanted to play up that little quad they had with Pat/Roy/Frank/Peggy, but a lot of the time, the entire thing just felt silly to me.
I love these 1995 episodes, and I love Blossom. Carol and Alan had such a "real" relationship those first few years, and I like that Alan sees Carol's kids as his own, even if Bianca is selfish bitch in these episodes.
You can tell Tony Jordan created Tiffany. Early Tiffany is like an early template for what later became the Slater sisters/Stacey. She had a lot of qualities that resembled Kat, Little Mo, and Stacey, her personality was trashed when Grant became her universe though.
I guess EastEndersonTV is building up to Sharon's return by giving us her exit storyline from her first stint. It's painfully obvious that both Grant and Phil will always carry a torch for her. They were created especially for her. I think these were the first set of episodes I caught of the show on PBS. I hope we get to see Sharon's 1995 exit in its entirety, I remember it being well-done and poignant outside of the famous scene where she leaves Grant at the end.
I think Sharon left in summer 1995, and Michelle left towards the end of that year. I hope we get to see some of Michelle's exit story, including the 4 hander with Grant, Cindy, and David, that was the infamous episode where she and Grant slept together.

Some 1995 episodes are up.
One of them is the lead-up to Sharon's 1995 exit and her return to town post Sharongate. Includes her showdowns with Kathy, Phil, and especially Peggy - the last scene was a delight.

There's stuff with the Jackson's, Pat/Janine/Roy, and Mark and Ruth as well. 1995 feels like the last vestige of the "old EastEnders." Something about the feel of the show seems to have changed from about 1996 onwards, it was just sped up by Matthew Robinson's revamp in 1998.

For some reason, even though she's treated him like crap and I never bought into their whole relationship, she seems to be struggling as a character without Ricky. In fact, that entire family seems to be doing so. She's also been extra abrasive without Ricky around.
It seems like Sid Owen is another one who wants to come and go as he pleases. He's apparently back for Janine and Michael's wedding, and then he's leaving soon afterwards.
The show should consider letting some of these people go permanently, as this coming and going will impact all story plans they might have.

Perhaps this is why Patsy wanted more time off, she's just renewed her vows to her husband.
