  1. I'm usually "whatevs" when it comes to Diane but I have been 100% rooting for her since this whole debacle started. Chas is a pig and the way she's strutting around James and pretending like she's Scarlet OHara in distress is just beyond me.

Wonderful! Completely agree. I'd also like to add that as much as I do like Cain, I loved the way Diane refused to be intimidated by him in The Woolpack. The Dingles en masse are just unbearable.

  2. Emma is just too fierce for 3/4ths of the heffas in this village. Especially now that Val is gone I daresay she's pretty much Queen Bee. She can read these two bit bimbos like there's no tomorrow.

I just feel so bad for her that these stupid boys of hers are so obsessed with "Debs" way overused goodies. I mean this trick is a joke. And she's so selfish. Then you've got the psycho father in law waiting in the shadows....like who seriously wants to deal with Cain. Not to mention dear old nasty Charity. I just couldn't. It's not the kids fault but the fact that she has two of them is just even more baggage.

And to think Pete was willing to put up with all of that and she just threw it away.

It was so refreshing when Emma ripped into Cain on a daily basis when she thought he'd killed Ross. (As much as I do like Cain).

I enjoyed Debbie as a character during the Cameron saga, but I STILL feel that Debbie should have gone to prison for her and Cameron literally driving Gennie to her death. Now I can't wait for Charley Webb's maternity leave to begin.

  3. When the last scene of last night's ep started, I was thinking "Who the heck is in hospital?" Ha ha. I actually punched the air when Ross showed up -  that was the best reveal in ages.

And skanky Debbie is reaping what she sowed, hyperventilating all over the place. Good!

I'm also surprised at how much I'm enjoying the reunited Emma and James - she genuinely looked like she'd just had a great shag in one of the earlier scenes. She was glowing!

And the Sam/Rachel domestic violence stuff is really compelling and realistic. This show is on fire.

  4. Dare I say it but I hope Emma goes nutty and starts terrorizing the Dingles over the loss of Ross. While I feel like the body found is a red herring, I still want Emma to torture Debbie, who set this whole thing in motion by being a slut and boinking Ross.

Totally. I'm really enjoying unhinged Emma - any scene where she strides into The Woolpack and tells it like it is always gets me going! I love that she calls out the Dingles for what they are - 'inbred' etc. And referring to Debbie's 'sour face' was just wonderful.

  5. I do wish that Pete would've leaned in towards Debbie at the end and whispered in her ear, "I am going to make your life a living hell as long as we are married." That would've made me scream in laughter.

LOL its like you're reading my mind. I legit thought Pete was gonna choke the living daylights out of Debbie and probably kill her while everyone was out of the room! Pete looks like he's completely SNAPPED. Its like something's just changed. He's no longer naive, country bumpkin without a brain as bae would call him. Anthony Quilian def is selling the hell out of this aftermath. I just love the pure rage and expressions of confusion about what to do next while also feeling sad about Ross.

I was really hoping the same - that Pete was going to lean in and whisper in Debbie's ear that he's now going to make her life a living hell. But I loved the moment where she reached out her hand to him and he didn't take it. Something tells me that Debbie will soon be longing for the good old days with Cameron...

  6. AQ is a decent actor when given the material, but none of that makes Pete an interesting character.

True, Pete is a dull character - which is why Pete ended up with Ross for "the best sex she's ever had." *sigh*

So Joanie, James and Finn all survived against the odds. Wonder if there'll be another death tomorrow night, though? I doubt it somehow.

And why were Alicia, Kirin, Priya and Rakesh in the Summer Fate trailer, yet they were nowhere to be seen this week?!

Imagine if Kim Tate had been in that helicopter!

    It's all too much.

  7. Completely agree with everything you said, Ben.

I was so completely stunned , but am clinging on to the hope that Ross may do a Mercedes McQueen and rise from the dead.

Val's exit was perfection, even if it did feel a little like something from Final Destination. LOVED it when she lit up a cigarette, all defiant like.

The biggest revelation, acting-wise, for me this week has been Anthony Quinlan. He does 'angry' so well!

There's some juicy stuff to come at Home Farm - this is huge for the Whites. God, I love this show.

  8. I thought Tuesday's episode did a brilliant job of building the tension throughout - and the reveal of Debbie's affair was fabulous, even if we've seen it done before. (It was so intense, I really thought Pete might hit her). The Ross 'cliffhanger' moment was a real showstopper too. I also really enjoyed the Marlon/Rhona scenes and was relieved they didn't kiss.

Diane and Val trapped in the hall of mirrors is sheer genius - I'm really worried about Diane's head injury, though.

Why oh why couldn't Lisa Dingle have returned for the wedding, in order for to be incinerated?

Also, while I thought the acting in the Ruby/Dan/Kerry scenes was top-notch, I personally don't think Ruby's death merited so much screen time tonight. She's been a deadwood character throughout her stint. I do think there's much bigger deaths to come before the week is out.

  9.  They really let themselves down this week, other than some of the stuff that wasn't even intended as major material (like Val and Eric, one or two Ross and Finn scenes, and what is likely Ruby's goodbye). If or when they get low ratings next week, it's to be expected given the time of year and ITV's lack of interest, but they also threw away a lot of potential viewers this week.

Completely agree - the revelation of a gay affair in the village should have been huge, but it felt like a damp squib and there's so much else going on that it just felt like most people just shrugged and carried on. On a smaller scale, I felt the same when Laurel killed Marlon's dog - in reality she would have been ostracised by people and the show could have squeezed some drama out of that. (From the likes of Edna, especially). But the plot just kept on moving.

  10. Someone said she came back for a day.

I've certainly rarely seen a character this present when the actress is on maternity leave. Even when she's not there, she's there. I guess it tells you how much the show relies on Charity.

Thanks for the info. As much as I love the character of Charity, I did think the audience needed a rest from her. But I also love that she's still popping up and causing mayhem!

Am so nervous about who's going to be killed off in the disaster.

  11. Leah Bracknell is now a yoga teacher and seems to have embraced that lifestyle and quit acting. But never say never...

Am really surprised to see Emma Atkins still popping up as Charity - surely these latest scenes can't have all been filmed before she went on maternity leave? She definitely looks slimmer in the face than when Charity was first imprisoned, so she must have come back for a few days of filming.

  12. I bet that not a single Dingle will be among the casualties, even though the show could benefit from losing one or two (or three!) of them. Compare that to the Sugdens and their extended family, they drop dead on a regular basis!

Agreed - with Lisa and Marlon being the top of my list to meet their makers.

I really like the disaster trailer, it got me so excited for what's to come. Am a week or so behind on the show, but I loved the TeddyCam storyline so much!

  13. Am surprised they've brought Joanie and Kyle back so soon. What with that and the Charity babydaddy drama impacting on Cain, I do think they've overlooked the potential angst involved in Moira raising Noah while Charity's banged up. Surely Moira (or Charity, come to think of it) can't be 100% OK with that?

And how on earth are both Alicia and Val going to be written out? It's a real blow for David and Eric to lose their partners around the same time...

  14. Chrissy gets the Boss Bitch of 2015 Award! Shes totally got me on board with her as a character. Lochlan is still a piece of turd but man is his mother a force. I can't wait until she finds out about Robert and Aaron!

Chrissie was brilliant with all the double-crossing around Donny, the money and Ross/Debbie. A total badass when she spoke to Donny on the phone and told him to call Lachlan and tell him he was going away. And then when Ross came to collect his money and she said "Oh, how sweet, you actually thought I meant what I said." Ha! Loved it. Those two definitely need to have an affair at some point.

  15. Been lurking for while, so thought I'd jump in...

I was disappointed that the fake Archie story didn't go anywhere interesting, and has ultimately been pointless.

ITA. I just don't see what the point of the twist was - and bringing Rachel back has been a damp squib, too.

Also, DRW50, why do you say there's some confusion over whether Sammy Winward was fired or not? Very interesting if so.

That summer trailer looks good - what on earth is going on with Charity and Debbie?!
