Cain’s treatment of Simon is exactly the reason why it’s so utterly ludicrous for Moira to go back to him. He’s a relentlessly thuggish piece of shite.

In some ways it’s even worse than it was under SOC. It’s completely rudderless now.

I’m not too sure about that, Carl.I’m thinking Charley Webb might want to spend more time with her hot hubby and toddlers so maybe this could be her exit storyline. I think it will take several months to play out, though, maybe she could end up finishing filming in April or May.

I admit I found Freddie Jones’ hamminess was hard to take at times but he was affecting in last night’s episode. I’m assuming Sandy and the character played by Wendy Craig will go off into the sunset together so that would be nice. I’d hate it if they killed him off onscreen.

Was trying to remember how much Steph knows about Phelan. She obviously knows about the garage fire but does she know about the circumstances around Michael’s death and how Phelan laughed at him as he lay dying? Does she know about the flat scam? I guess one way to insure Todd staying away from Weatherfield will be the full flat scan reveal which won’t make him look so hot. I suspect it will be what makes Billy turn away from him for good.

I guess it was Charley Webb’s instinct for Debbie to punch Simon in the chest in that scene in the truck on last night’s episode but it was ludicrous that he didn’t respond by slamming her head against the window. God knows she deserved it.

She did still say it, though. And I think we were meant to believe it. I would buy it if she wasn’t so resolute about Cain over the past few months. Everything she was telling Faith and others was the truth-they could never work long term as a couple. She will always have a firm grip on what’s right and acceptable behavior and he won’t.

Moira makes up her own mind - I doubt Charity swayed her. I think that scene was mostly about completing the circle for viewers - Charity moving on and acknowledging Moira's love for Cain.
Moira gave Charity total credit on Friday night’s episode! That’s what the show wanted us to think-that Charity sealed the deal for Moira and Cain.
I’m just finding this latest twist so incomprehensible and out of character for Moira that I almost believe that one of the big storylines for Emmerdale in 2018 is a Faux Moira storyline. At moments I wondered if this is not actually Moira but an imposter.

No, Carl, I’m not done with the show quite yet but come on, you KNOW Moira and Cain will break up AGAIN at some point in the future. Because Moira has been right for months-she’s insisted that unless Cain has truly evolved their relationship can’t ever work. Maybe because his issues with Faith has been somewhat resolved he will evolve but I doubt it. The show is way too fond of his bad boy antics.

Moira and Cain again? Really? I was certain the last scene tonight was his fantasy but she really did show up in that gleaming white coat, face all angelic, telling him they’d be spending the rest of their lives together. All because of a visit from Charity of all people? What a load of shite.

Denise McCormack has a long term contract on the show? I think Ciara is only a short term role.

Enough of Lachlan already, it’s way past time to send him off to prison or to a mental facility. He and Belle have always had zero chemistry and his facial grimaces drive me nuts.

To do what? If anyone’s a lifer on that show it’s her. I doubt I’ll ever see her in the West End stage in my lifetime.

And she was once sister-in-law to Laila Morse via Morse’s brother Gary Oldman. Their son Alfie had both parents nominated for an Oscar today!

I thought it was good, the montage at the end with Anna finally looking directly at “us” before the slat being shut was excellent. Bye, Debbie. I’m guessing she’ll end up getting stabbed to death in prison after opening her big gob too many times? I wonder how it would time out with Phelan’s “comeuppance.”

I noticed there was a scene in the Vic this past week with Fake Les and Patrick playing chess. I guess by the summer we’ll know if it’s Keegan or Bernadette who turns out to be something of a prodigy via the chess book Fake Pam gave them at Christmas. It would be interesting to watch Keegan struggle with the knowledge he’s really good at something he considers “uncool.”

RIP Abi Branning. She really would have loved The Greatest Showman.

HAH, Diane mentioned in tonight's episode what Chrissie did to Andy. i knew that had to happen sooner rather than later.
Lachlan: Everybody thinks I'm a psychopath.
I wanted to yell at the screen "But ya ARE, Blanche, ya ARE!"

Good job with listing all the bad bits but he was never an actual “villain,” just a young guy who made a hell of a lot of mistakes! He’s a decent person who sometimes reacted badly to things.

They did care about what she did to Andy, though. She framed him for doing something Lachlan did and he got sent to prison! And some might hold her indirectly responsible for the helicopter crash. Of course she didn’t cause it but her actions started the chain reaction.

Hah, me, too, but that IS something that Diane or Victoria WOULD say. I hope Andy is at least mentioned this coming week.

Neither will I. His character’s fate was sealed after what he did to Alicia.
Speaking of awful behavior I wonder if at some point either Diane or Victoria will say “Well, what Chrissie did to Andy was horrible but she didn’t deserve THAT!”

I still miss Carl/Tom Lister on this show.
A week ago today I was walking down a street in Notting Hill and Tom Lister was sitting in his car. I glanced at him (tried not to stare) and noticed he glanced back. I think maybe he thought I was someone he knew? Just a few days earlier I’d seen him on TV in The Royal Variety Performance along with the cast of 42nd Street!
But back to the show-I hated Lachlan’s sudden “remorse” immediately following the car crash. It was incredibly unrealistic, unless whatever mental illness he suffers from causes crazy mood swings. He’d just deliberately tried to kill his mother. I’d liked it better if he was unconscious afterward, instead.

Geraldine Court and Anna “Banana” Stuart became extremely good friends with Lauren White. I remember seeing her a lot at Geri’s apartment on the Upper West Side and I’m pretty sure she acted in one of the plays Geri directed.
I’m still waiting for that first scene with Ann and Toni in the same room together-I wonder if it ever happened!

Friday’s episodes were unbearable between Billy’s withdrawal and Craig’s OCD. The kid who plays Craig is sweet but enough is enough, he has to go. They should send his character off for further police training somewhere.
