  1. That sucks. I think I saved most of the stuff from Extreme Close Up if anyone needs it (I just don't know which dates are their videos). When my account got two strikes I never touched it again lol. I made another account with like two public videos, which got terminated, so now I have an account where I ONLY upload videos unlisted. I'm actually shocked that the stuff from B&B 1987 is still up. Just invite all the uploaders here. I'm so much happier here sharing with people and not dealing with youtube drama.
  2. That pretty much describes LML, MAB, and JFP's reigns. That article about Kay Alden really drives home how different it was when the soaps tried to hire educated people who cared passionately for the genre and took it seriously.
  3. I could buy Kimberlin Brown as Sugar but I would just much rather see her as Sheila, you know? The Daisy/Daniel storyline was... ugh... she basically raped him when he was drunk (or maybe she drugged him, I don't remember). Phyllis forced them to get married. He clearly didn't want the child or her. He delivered the baby in the back of the car and Daisy conked him on the head, abandoned the baby and ran away to Canada. Billy bought the baby and he and Victoria "adopted" her. Daniel was having memories and drawing the baby and then he realized that was his daughter. He didn't really want her and it seemed like he was going to let them keep her, which was nice, for a soap not to reunite the child with its biological parents at any cost, for once. But then Phyllis found out and went batshit (the end of Michelle Stafford's run, she was insufferable), and found Daisy and got Avery to get some kind of deal so she could get out of jail to raise the kid, and then she turned around and helped Daniel sue for custody... or something. It was so convoluted and made no sense, but was all about Phyllis being a bitch and making people do things they didn't want to do and then everyone thanking her for it. And then of course, Daniel ended up loving being a parent and went off with Heather. It was so random. The Ricky storyline never really blossomed. The idea of Isabella's son being crazy and harboring resentment for Paul leaving him was solid, but then they introduced all this previous offscreen stuff about him killing his girlfriend before he came on the show and it went nowhere.
  4. I still want that chained up woman in prison (think that was shown on B&B though) that's supposed to be Sugar with Kimberlin Brown's face to actually be Sheila... I like the idea of Sheila still being out there, in case competent writers ever return to the show and can make something of it, and then they can say that Daisy and Ryder weren't really her children. If they are her children though, then they really missed an opportunity to make Daniel's daughter the bad seed... her bloodline included Phyllis as paternal grandmother, Tom Fisher as maternal grandfather, Kevin as an uncle, Sheila as maternal grandmother (plus the Sarah, Ryder, Daisy crew)... they should have had Daniel leave her with Billy and Victoria because he didn't want to raise a kid, and then when the kid turned out evil and no one could figure out why, he'd have been forced to confess it was his child. That would've been fun.
  5. Thanks. Another one I've mostly seen, but only cut up. So at least I didn't miss anything really new. I have seen that purported October 8, 1992 listed as April 1982 elsewhere... I wonder how they could get so off with the date?
  6. Thanks, Liam, and welcome to the board! I had seen most of those 1982 clips except for the Katherine scenes. Is that pre-facelift? Anyone else remember what the third episode was?
  7. YRfan23 mentioned someone had been looking for these eps... they're not mine originally, but I'm re-uploading 10/15/87 11/20/87 9/29/92
  8. Hi guys... I'm back after a little break, catching up on downloading the last few months. sorry that my and YRfan23's plans to upload things in order didn't work out! I'm still hopelessly behind myself, watching the John/Jill divorce saga and the episodes from 1989. I need to go through my DVDs and figure out what to upload next. I noticed that these episodes which were posted back in October apparently got deleted... I'm really hoping someone saved them to the computer and can upload them for me? The dates are October 8th,1982 Undated ep posted by SoapDope here http://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/38254-y-r-old-articles/page-171#entry1377080 May 26, 1985 Really really hoping someone did save them! Thanks!
  9. Thank you for the 70s Y&R! Found a new channel with eps from 2001:
  10. Thanks! Was April 11, 1989 uploaded? I have April 10 and 12 in my downloads (just getting around to watching now) so I don't know if I missed that or you didn't have it. The youtube uploader has now posted 20 parts of the John & Jill divorce saga. Anyone have approximate airdates?
  11. Thanks! Am I the only one thinking Ron Burgundy while watching those Wish 8 News introductions?
  12. Awesome. Can you give us a rough idea of what time periods you have?
  13. WOW, thank you!!!! Great quality! I actually just finished watching all the 1989 vids that were uploaded but I will happily go back and watch these! You made my day.
  14. LOL at waiting for Victor to show up and dismantle him. Totally. I think the problem with the German videos might be that the music and English dialogue were not on separate tracks. In deleting the English to replace it with German, they also had to delete the music, and maybe they didn't have access or care enough about the original music. They probably figured it was a soap so who cares? Little did they know 30 years later we would be talking about it. I know that is an issue with some of the 80s eps of various soaps with pop music playing in the background - you can't just delete the music because then you would lose dialogue.
  15. Interesting. Was that part of the Paul/Cindy storyline from 1983?
  16. Wow, how did you find that video; it's private?! LOL at Nikki. There used to be a German Y&R website that had a bunch of classic episodes in great quality... you can access it here http://web.archive.org/web/20130622230535/http://schattenderleidenschaft.de/ but all of the links on the youtube page don't work for me and since the videos are private I had no way of accessing them and I had never bothered to download them since they weren't in English. Do you have a list of links to all of the videos? At least now I can potentially contact the uploader since I have his youtube screen name. Hopefully this is the same person that uploaded all of them originally. I am seriously excited because I was so pissed I didn't save them. I actually recently started playing with learning German on the internet just for fun and I was kicking myself because what better way to practice than watching Y&R? On a totally random note, but one I think you guys will appreciate, I was trying to find those videos again so I found myvideo which is the German youtube I guess (warning: some links might have NSFW stuff in background) and searched for Y&R http://www.myvideo.de/search?q=young+restless (if that link doesn’t work just go to www.myvideo.de and search for young restless). I did not find those 80s eps but I was surprised they had some old rare clips on here! In English http://www.myvideo.de/watch/9557397/The_Young_And_The_Restless-Bell_Cast David Kimball dreaming about killing Christine and Nina… is this from Oct 1991? http://www.myvideo.de/watch/9560871/The_Young_and_Restless_Eileen_Davidson Really well done (early?) 80s scene with Ashley and some guy, but I have no idea what storyline this is from! I actually couldn't get through the entire scene, it's very disturbing. This was when the show had real tension. http://www.myvideo.de/watch/9560934/The_Young_And_The_Restless_Kristine_De_Bell A truly rare scene! Doug Davidson with long hair and a beard... late 70s/early 80s. Is this from the cult story? I don’t even know this actress. BTW, you can use this website to download the clips: http://convert2mp3.net/en/index.php Sometimes even if you can’t watch the video you actually can just enter the link and download it anyway. I think you have to allow cookies and have javascript enabled to watch on the site but you can download them regardless which is what I do. So here’s the weird thing. I clicked on the user’s page to see if he had more Y&R videos … I saw he had some GH, it looked promising… and then I realized his page is all about girls being tied up! LOL!!! And some of those videos look like they might be pretty sexual. And then I realized ALL of his Y&R clips involve women being held hostage (no wonder he has so much GH, that’s all they ever do on that show!). Isn’t that crazy!?? He’s probably not even a Y&R fan! He lists it by the actress name. So he’s just some guy with a fetish. Then HOW does he have all those rare clips?! Are these rare episodes floating around fetish sites, but we regular fans don’t have them? I mean, what the hell, it's the weirdest thing... maybe they were on youtube before and he cut out those parts? He also has some more common stuff like Lauren being tied up by Sheila and Katherine being tied up by Clint. I want to know where he gets his Y&R but I really would not feel comfortable sending him a message… ? Hahaha. Especially since I'm female, although it's not like he would know that. Anyway, very curious if anyone can identify those clips.
  17. Thanks YRFan23! Chris B, I would love to see more from the 70s! If you need help with uploading, PM me.
  18. Yeah, I really like GR and the Kevin character as originally written was compelling, but his redemption was handled badly. The scenes of him getting beat up in jail were some of the most beautiful directing that Y&R has ever done, but that should have been just the start. A bunch of scenes of people saying they feel sorry for Kevin, and Kevin whining about how he does not want to be in a jail cell (but yet continually committing major and minor crimes) didn't get the job done. I still think they should make him evil again. As far Adam, I wouldn't even know where to begin. They should have never written all of that garbage to begin with. The original storyline of CE's Adam trying to find his place in the company was great. Yeah the Christine getting engaged to Michael was one of those things I thought Y&R would never do. I never thought Christine would end up engaged to her rapist (well, near rapist)... but then they had Paul rape her also and then them getting married... really ridiculous. Especially now that I've just watched some of the 80s episodes that YRfan23 uploaded and saw what Christine had to deal with from Derek.
  19. It may not have been shown onscreen but IMO there's nothing ambiguous about Michael murdering Rebecca. I think it was better that way, because it was super violent and didn't need to be shown. It also made for a big shock when a body was found by two random characters walking in the park, but they confirmed it was Michael right away instead of making it a "mystery." (Y&R's murder mysteries were never that great, even Bill Bell's IMO). I watched it with my mom as a kid and remember both of us being so shocked. And then Michael's phone call to the hospital shows what a sociopath he is, that he could feign empathy like that while being giddy inside. Such great acting from CLB. If he had been a "name" actor/character by then he wou;d've had his first Emmy. It's kind of funny that Scott is going on about what kind of psycho would do that, and to think today that psycho is married to Scott's then-wife! To Y&R's credit I do appreciate the fact that they actually sent him to jail offscreen and had him rebuild his life. He never was punished for Rebecca's death but that's realistic, a lot of crimes go unsolved, and if he had been found he would've probably gotten life and could never have returned to the show.
  20. Feb 15, 1993 (first couple of minutes interrupted by special report)
  21. Are they still online somewhere? Do you have a link? Here is February 12, 1993. CLB at 38:18 is the true Michael Baldwin for me, sick mofo.
  22. Not that I know of. Are those minisodes still available? I know they had Victoria and Cole stuff on there too. Here is where YRFan23 left off... Chris B I think you'll like these scenes with Neil & Dru's from Feb 11! Feb 9, 1993 Feb 11, 1993
  23. Thanks for the date. So you mean the clips titled "Olivia in the hospital" are not all from the same episode? I thought they were creating episode titles like you and SOS do. From comments I had three different dates which I thought were three different episodes from 1992. That is such a bummer about your computer! Can you anything at all? What if you copied an entire folder on a flash drive and then browsed it on another computer?
  24. Anyone know the airdate of this clip? YRfan23 commented with airdates on this persons other video, but some parts of this were deleted so I can't find it.
  25. Yes, except Veronica's wig ruins everything! Nikki gets shot on 3/20/98... I don't think it's ever been on yt in full (to my knowledge). The one I mentioned from the SOS channel is a dream of Veronica holding a gun to Nikki. I'm trying to sort out everything I've downloaded into some kind of order, so maybe I'll come across more. Here's a clip of the shooting (in French):
