  1. Hmm.....I know there was (or still is) an early 1988 episode where Amy spends most of the episode "bar-hopping" to look for Nina, but she was still on the show for a couple months later......I knew nothing of this 1990 return and i'm sure whenever I get to posting that episode it will lead to some discussion.

Yes I will certainly get to those re-uploads! It's hard knowing where to start because I just got even more "un-released" episodes but I will make a special point to get to the ones I already uploaded......

I wonder if it's easier to just make a single thread of the video fourms for the episodes or just keep sharing the links on here.....

  2. Liv doesn't show up until early summer.

Yeah I think her first scenes use to be on youtube.

So what was the story with Amy's 1990 return? Were there any other characters who "magically" reappeared for a short time at some random point over the years?

  3. Yeah when I saw her name in the credits a couple episodes before I was thinking it was gonna be one of those flashbacks "appearances" they have to give a credit for, like they did with Snapper and Casey when Paul was having those April flashbacks in those 1993 episodes.....but nope, she was there in a scene with Nathan where they are at some sort of gym and end up dancing together....it was kind of a weird scene, but anyways it was pretty much Nathan telling her how glad he was that she was back and he missed her etc.....but she was committed to her new job.....

Maybe they were trying to plan a long term return for Amy but she got GH instead?....it's so weird now knowing that Amy came this close of being part of the Oliva/Dru part of the story.

  4. Maybe she was on recurring towards the end....

Ok how's this for something bizarre.....I just got more episodes today, and I'm in the middle of watching an episode from March 1990 and Stephanie Williams is in it as Amy!!!.....apparently she came back for a little that year?......anyone know about that??

  5. Yeah I remember you posted the summary to one of those episodes several pages back! It did sound like a good episode!

Yeah I read that Lauren's last scene was shared with Brad about the Nikki affair. I think Lauren's first Y&R stint ended October 13, 1995, then she appeared on B&B the following week......It's funny how I have both the Y&R and B&B episodes from October 10, 1995 (which I will re-upload at some point) Lauren's final week yet she made an appearance on the B&B episode that day.....I guess they were getting her ready for the switch.....I still say so much potential was lost by not having her stay on Y&R.

I had read the recap from this episode on the google boards so I wasn't surprised to see Katherine appear, but this had to have been one of the few times she aired all that year.....I believe Katherine even went with Mamie and John to send Mamie off on her exit cruise.Other then the courtroom fight with Jill months earlier she really seemed to not have anything else to do except support and give advice. I did like her little Jabs at Jill "How's my best friend Jill?.....on second thought I rather not know on an empty stomach...." "what did the slut do this time?"....

I need to get some episodes with this Jeri....I wonder if they wanted to recycle the Lauren and Sheila plot with this story....

    I'm gonna upload Y&R September 22, 1995 sometime tonite! smile.png

  6. Jeri that's right, don't know who played her....

I love Sharon's inability to wanna stand up to the Newmans (well Nikki and Victoria) to fight for Nick. I know none of Sharon's actions of the past few years are close to being justified, but seeing the way Nikki and Victoria treated her back then sort of gives her the right to feel the way she does now about the Newman's.

I didn't realize that about Katherine and the money, I just remember the one episode when she digging through the trash.

glad you are enjoying this episode! I have another 1995 episode coming, which is also very good! there are some Nikki and Victor as well as Keemo and Mari Jo scenes that are unintentionally hilarious that I can't wait to share.

  7. I don't really care for this particular Nick/Sharon/Matt story (I guess because I have already seen most of it online as it was the only 95 clips that were available for a while) as popular as it was, but I can see why Nick/Sharon were slowly becoming a popular couple as they did try to add the "star-crossed" lovers theme with them.....Victoria is such a little Bitch in this episode though.....I was hoping they would show the mysterious female editor of Cole's in this episode.....

The Lauren stuff was fun, glad to see some of Lauren right before she moved to B&B. That black woman (Leslie I believe her name was) reminds me of one of those popular R&B singers of the 90's.

I also enjoyed the Katherine/Mamie/Esther scenes, but how dumb of Mamie to carry the money in her bag........more stupidly Katherine tells her that carrying that loot around town might cause it to get wet if it rains, where I would be more concerned of Mamie getting mugged.....not a bright line of dialogue......and the whole reason why Mamie took the money just because she thought she "deserved it" because of putting up with Jill all those years, just makes her sound like a gold-digger.....I did like the John and Jill scenes and how he knows deep down Jill was responsible for Mamie quitting.

  8. Seeing these clips of Lauren reminds me why I snicker every time I used to read a post (I don't go to those sites anymore) complaining about how Lauren sleeping with Carmine was supposedly so OOC. The Lauren I remember was a vixen who had a sex drive that rivaled any of the male characters and she wasn't about to apologize for it.

Even in a case like this where sex really wasn't the issue, often times it was the solution where Lauren was concerned. It wasn't all there was to Lauren but sensuality and sexuality was a big part of who she was and she was a vixen to boot.

At the risk of raising the ire of some Phyllis fans, I can only guess that perhaps the Phyllis character sort of supplanted the Lauren character in some ways. Although Lauren at her worst was never as diabolical as Phyllis at her worst, that image of the red headed vamp was taken over by Phyllis and Lauren was transitioned to supportive stable, married friend.

Whereas before, even in her previous marriages to Paul and Scott, she couldn't be tamed, after marrying Michael she was turned into this earth mother and wife. Even her business ambitions had become somewhat dulled.

She sort of seemed like she became comic relief too for a while when Phyllis first came to town. I say this because I got a couple of 1995 episodes recently and Lauren was on one of them (Y&R 1995 episodes with Lauren are very rare.....I promise I will get this up eventually, The entire episode was fantastic for being a year people consider one of the weakest of Bell's storytelling,I enjoyed this one!.) and she had this scene with Paul where she spends most of the time talking about his "sex drive" since he was FINALLY fully regaining it since the hit and run (I have to laugh it took so long because this episode aired August 21 1995, and the hit and run was from Dec/Jan before) and she has all these one liners and zingers about it......hard to believe it was the same Lauren that had been terrorized by Sheila only a few years/months before......It's funny cause I think they tried to make her character more dramatic when they moved her to B&B but the same thing ended up happening where she seemed like she was there just have a few good zingers.

  9. Thank you for those stories from Considine. I always enjoy hearing about live days on soaps. I didn't think he looked too young for Jeanne, but then I wasn't in charge.

Can't wait to see the 1990 episodes.

I don't want to post it here but - and this may already be known anyway - someone, up to a few months back, put up a fair amount of late 1995 complete episodes.

    Promo.

Thanks, I'm thinking maybe i could upload the episode as unlisted like Alphaguy has been doing with those 70's episodes and just post the links here!

  10. Thanks for finding those!

I have to say.....after watching the latest collection of classic Y&R dvds i just got today, F**K CBS/SONY!!!!......I'm gonna make sure these episodes get online somehow and those greedy MoFo's can Kiss my A**......sorry for cursing like that, but I just watch some of the greatest episodes out of all the other classic episodes I collected and there's just no way I cannot let you guys go without seeing them!.....I was literally crying during this one Katherine scene on a 1990 episode. Made me miss Jeanne even more! :(

  11. I have to say I think I watched this episode about 7 times by now! LOL

So what I'm also wondering, if Snapper had just gotten married to Chris around this time, wouldn't the Brooks be able to help out the Fosters with their financial problems? at the same time I can see them offering to help and Liz declining but I was just curious.

  12. What I also love is that it seems like particularly the scenes with Jill and Kay sort of set in motion for other soaps to later copy and create their own versions of the Kay and Jill rivalry. I feel like other soaps down the road would later interpret some of Kay and Jill into people like Kate and Ivy and Sami and Theresa from DOOL and Passions......This kind of goes back to Jim Reily liking the "rich bitch vs poor girl" plot. Of course later there was also B&B with Brooke and Stephanie.

I'm not saying that Kay vs Jill isn't one of a kind because it will always be the best soap rivalry ever but I do think some soaps always tried to recreate that magic in some way.

  13. What on earth is going on?!?!.......I never would have dreamt so many 70's episodes would be surfacing this fast! particularly any from the show's 2nd year. ...You truly are an angel Alphaguy! biggrin.png

SO many things to discuss......I love seeing the Fosters all sitting together talking about Liz getting layed off at the Factory. I love how everyone looks so natural and Brenda looks beautiful in those "ordinary" clothes from Kmart that she use to complain about......

Katherine looks so gorgeous and wow John Considine as Phillip, is it just me or does he look a HELL of a lot like Thom Bierdz? He looks a lot younger then Donnelly Rhodes......

I love how innocent Jill is but you can see some of the determination she has that would totally drive her later.....I loved that Brenda flubbed her lines and said "Mrs. Foster, then recovered and said Mrs.Chancellor, I guess with live taping there was no time to fix mistakes....... I love seeing her actually work in the Salon...... Who played that Hazel woman? how long was she on the show?.......Of course it's a gem to see Jill actually do Katherine's hair at the salon. I love how Katherine isn't exactly warm at Jill but Jill is fascinated she doesn't seem to mind. It's interesting to see Jeanne actually smoke too.....I loved the ending with Jill deciding whether it's a good idea to stay or not, I was almost in tears seeing the original Chancellor set.....it must have been only a month old at this point....

Interesting that Kay's original maid was named Theresa yet she doesn't look hispanic, how long did she last.

Was this Chuckie that Sally was carrying?

I can't go on enough about how truly amazing you are again! smile.png

  14. That's Mark Henderson, Bruce and Regina Henderson's son, and Liz Foster's Nephew (As Bruce Henderson is Liz Foster's brother) This was another one of Bill Bell's incest storylines, Lorie and Mark fell in love, and then we find out that Bruce Henderson is Lorie's biological father, as Jennifer had an affair with Bruce years ago, an affair that was rekindled just a couple of months before she found her cancer. Mark broke off the relationship, although Lorie didn't want to, she didn't care if he was her half brother, she proclaimed she wanted to be with him anyway. And believe you me, that was some controversial sh!t in 1975. Hell, that is still controversial today. Bill Bell and Jamie got a ton of hate mail for that storyline.

Wow I had know idea that Bruce was Liz's Brother and this Mark was her Nephew.......This is the type of family history that will probably sadly never be brought up again.

So did the Lorie and Mark romance cause any sparks with Jill Snapper and Greg or any tension with Liz and Jennifer since she had an affair with Mark? As sick and controversial as this all sounds, it really probably was great material back then.

  15. WOW, wonderful to see more of the golden era of 70's Y&R on here! You are wonderful alphaguy! :)

The end scenes with Jennifer were really bone-chilling and sad, she's such a terrific actress.

Who is that Mark guy Lorie is with?

Again I cannot thank you enough! This also was able to hold me over because I just found out that there is a delay in my Latest classic Y&R dvds arriving :(
