Al & Sarah . That would've been so cute to see. Max & Gabrielle's son and Cord & Tina's daughter getting married? Bring it on! Didn't recognize Nathan Fillion on those skates at all . The Susan Batten story is in the OLTL coffee table book. She's actually from the same county in North Carolina as Ava Gardner (Johnston County). And shut up, Kassie. Five pounds, schmive pounds. You're 50 now and I'm STILL jealous of your figure. You probably haven't been chubby since your early Guiding Light days . And I LOVE the Tyler Noyes autograph story .

Yep, I love that article! Misty herself actually mentioned that song in an interview a few years ago, when she was promoting her Misty's Magical Mountaintop show. She said her daughter contacted the band after she found it, and after she asked them why they wrote a song about her mom, they said that they missed her and wanted to know what had happened to her. Dreama told them that "she's been raising me!" (She's 19 now, though).

Yeah, he and his wife Cari met sometime before he was on OLTL, and when he won his Emmy in 1994, he said to his son Julian, "Night night, Jules. I'll try to get Big Bird's autograph for you, and I love you." He also has a daughter now named Langston. I know some thought around 2008 that he and his ATWT costar Marie Wilson were together, but as far as I know, he and Cari are still married.

I remember reading once that a rock band called Young Heart Attack wrote a song called "Misty Rowe", because the bassist said she was the first woman he ever saw where he went, "Wow, she's not like my mom." It's a fun song, actually. Here's a clip of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RlP-6te415k I've sometimes wondered how long it was after Kassie joined the show that she and James got together, as they divorced their spouses the year before they got married themselves. It's also interesting that in the Max & Luna article, JDP mentions going to Hawaii with Misty and Dreama, and Kassie joined the show shortly after Max & Luna's wedding. So he could have met her almost as soon as he got back. Kind of interesting. I've always liked them (JDP/KDP) as a couple, though, and their son JQ is a little cutie (he was actually born about a month after my brother!)

It says in the OLTL trivia book that it WAS Malone's intention to have Nora as Sarah's killer. Nora was having episodes of blindness at the time, and that was supposed to have resulted in her hitting Bo & Sarah's car. But RSW thought that would be too big an obstacle for Bo to get over, being with the woman who ended his wife's life (even if she didn't intend to). So Malone changed it to a drunk driver killing Sarah.

Okay, this is totally weird, but in that Susan Haskell article where she mentions doing a commercial where she talks about smelly men: I know EXACTLY what she's talking about! It's an Arrid deodorant commercial from around 1992! She actually says in the commercial, "When a guy smells, it's such a turn-off!" I have this on an old tape with episodes of The Waltons (where this commercial aired during--it was when the show was on the Family Channel) and two episodes of I'll Fly Away, the great drama back then that Sam Waterston did. If I knew how to upload stuff like that on YouTube I'd probably do it! I LOVE that she mentioned it in an article once! Interestingly, the same commercial block includes a NutriGrain bar commercial with a very young future final Kevin, Dan Gauthier .

I know I posted it in the VideoBash board already, but it deserves to be here, too. I'll always be kind of sad (okay VERY sad) that there was never a Max/Gabby wedding with JDP, particularly when she came back in 2001. Even if she's coming back as a ghost now, they could have still done a Ryan/Vicky on AW style wedding in Heaven. I would've loved that. And THIS is why I call Max & Gabrielle the most underrated, ill-treated supercouple in OLTL history. I don't think it's just my bias; they were given a second chance from 2001-2003 to get things right and EVERYTHING went wrong for them. Cord & Tina FINALLY were given a happy ending, and Todd & Blair, for all the times I feel they've been crapped on, have STILL been treated better than Max & Gabby. Bo & Nora, Clint & Viki...ALL treated better. There were strong signs in 2003 that they might have an affair (I remember a spoiler back then about them sleeping together after Bo gave her a rain check one too many times) , but I remember reading Frons was against this (it wouldn't surprise me at all if Malone/Griffith were forced to scrap that for Al's death ) . Oh well, at least the two of them parted as friends when Max left Llanview.

I. LOVE. THAT. ONE. Headlining the premiere issue of Episodes! Fiona Fest had this article up FOREVER, but it's an older site now and a lot of the links aren't working lately (could just be me using Google Chrome, though ). I don't even know if they ever had anything like that in a magaizine before or since (especially a cover photo). I remember seeing that they were interviewed together in 1993 for either SOD or SOM, who asked the fans of each show which former onscreen couples (if I remember correctly) they wanted interviewed the most. It was at Soap Opera World, but now I can't even remember what month it was. Sigh. Still kinda sorta hoping for a super secret surprise appearance by Max (yes I'm hopeless ). It won't be too long before Gabby's back home! You're the best, Carl! ETA: The child that JDP and Misty Rowe were expecting at the time wound up being miscarried; their daughter Dreama was born two years later.

I really wish they had brought Julia back when Gabrielle came back so she could have had her mom. I remember reading that when Julia was sent to prison, one of hr last scenes was with Max. I'm assuming her daughter (who was already in prison by then herself) had to have come up, something that I'm sure rarely happened during those years.

Ew, Max & Luna! Just kidding, it's definitely a good find, the picture of Al & Sarah is so cute! I like the picture of KW and PE, too. But pillars of Llanview's young life? Um...yeah. Max as a pillar of Llanview (particularly then), lol. Do you have any Max & Gabby related articles, Carl? I'd love to see anything you might have!

Same here about Max & Luna being friends. It would have been better that way. I sometimes think that Luna & Blair were, in relation to Max, like the different sides to Gabrielle--the nicer, more innocent side (Luna) and the misunderstood, more passionate side (Blair). But of course, Max needed both at once, and Gabrielle was in prison! LOL That's how I like to look at it, at least . I do think it will be cool to finally see Luna & Gabrielle onscreen together, though, if that happens. They've never done that before. I'd love to see a friendly argument over who was better for Max! And Gabrielle & Blair would have made GREAT friends. Bonding over Max...they BOTH lost their virginity to him, after all!...and Tina...they feel VERY different about her .

Actually, I have to agree with you on that. I saw one scene with them on the phone that was actually kind of sweet. Now, of course, if AE had been Tina at the time, I would have resisted more, lol, but in this case it would take Luna away from Max. I sometimes think that I really do need to watch more of Luna, even (or especially) with Max. I just remember reading in the OLTL book that everyone thought she was Max's true love and I'm like...no. Poor Gabrielle. Can't we just say he had two and move on? I don't know, I was 12. It bugged . Old habits die hard, I guess. Based on what was written about her, though, they made it seem like her coming to Llanview in her parachute was the Second Coming and she was there to save all the poor citizens of Llanview from themselves. I dunno...

St. Lunatic Moodswing leaves her high perch above all the other mere mortals of Llanview and punches my girl Blair in the face?!?! Say it ain't so! Of course, Blair kinda WAS enabling Max's gambling addiction...and she WAS intent on bedding Max again...details, details... I assume that Luna returned to walking on water with her Goddess once she was done. Side notes: 1. Kassie is STUNNING here. And at 50, she continues to defy age today . 2. This scene demonstrates that Max & Cord had the potential to be the hottest couple in daytime history .

I became a fan of Max & Gabrielle when I first started watching the show in 2001, but it was these scenes, which I saw originally on the FH fan site Fiona Fest (although with a few other parts added in that case---and of course this was long before YouTube) that were largely responsible in me getting a lifetime ticket abroad the Holden-Medina Express . MAN, I want so much for someone on YouTube to finally post more of their stuff from 2001, especially their first kiss and their first time making love in a decade, both of which happened before I started watching. There's SO little M&G from 2001-2003 there. THIS is what bums me out about Max not coming back most (along with the fact that there will now NEVER be an M&G wedding with JDP as Max ). Throughout their renewed friendship in 2003 (which was AWESOME--they truly were each other's best friends that year), it always looked to me like Max had fallen in love with her all over again, but felt hopeless in doing anything about it because she was happy with Bo (he looked crestfallen when Bo proposed to her--he was right there). I have a feeling that her death affected him far more than even Luna's did, because even when Gabby was away in prison, and then after she was released but still out of town, Max at least knew that she was ALIVE out there somewhere. Being away from her all these years, plus Al's death right before, I could imagine he felt pretty lost after that. The fact that he moved to Argentina later on after her death, IMO at least, only confirms my theory more. Sigh...It's my hopeless fangurl moments like these where I REALLY need to get my fanfic on with these two .

Does anyone have an article from 1993 (I think in SOD) where James DePaiva and Fiona Hutchison were interviewed together? I saw an SOD description on a site that sells old magazines, and it said it included a section where fans of each show were asked which two stars (I'm thinking one past and one present, probably couples) they wanted interviewed together the most, and JDP and FH were chosen for OLTL. If ANYONE has a copy of it, I'd LOVE to see it posted. Thanks!
