  1. Finally, this perfectly echoes a line from Jack, in episode #3578 of April 8, 1987: "I know Jill well, she would flirt with her own brother if it could bring her something!" 😂
  2. Sharon & Nina have a scene together on May 23, 1996 (episode #5875) : "Sharon, I would like to take this opportunity to also wish you all the best" says Nina at Nikki and Brad's wedding (given that Sharon got married 3 months before). It looks like they already know a little each other, but I can't figure what occasion they could have first met. They are both present at the July 4, 1994 (episode #5403) party held at the ranch, but do not exchange any replies. Also a year later, while Ryan was present at this party, there is a scene of first meeting between Sharon and Ryan, in episode #5640 of June 23, 1995. Chantal Lebasque's first appearance : April 18, 2000 (episode #6862)
  3. Didn't she appear on December 28, 2023, as well as Greg Rikaart ? https://tvmeg.com/index.php/2023/12/28/yr-transcript-thursday-december-28-2023/
  4. When there's more, there's more! You can watch below the first episode broadcast in France on August 16, 1989, and the 20-minute presentation of the different running storylines which preceded. France, as well as Germany in 1993, started with the episode #3263 of January 10, 1986. I've edited subtitles in French that YouTube can automatically translate into English (and in other languages)... Presentation of the storylines : Episode #3263 (January 10, 1986) :
  5. I am Katherine Chancellor Sterling!
  6. Be that as it may, the last episode with William J. Bell as a head writer in the closing credits is dated July 3rd, 1998 (#6412). In the following episode's credits (July 6th, 1998 — #6413), he's not anymore in the writers' list... July 3rd, 1998 (#6412) : July 6th, 1998 (#6413) :
  7. You rock! Thank you very much, I've just added these 2 dates (and a couple of others) to the document Let's hope more will surface soon...
  8. I also wish they had! Yes I think so... And this episode was taped on April 8 according to the script and also according to Kate Linder. Yes I think so! Yes I think so! Thank you very much, the noose is tightening around Beth Maitland ! If I lived in Los Angeles, I would go the UCLA Library which has almost all (if not all) the scripts of the first decades, at least to check the first airdate of Beth Maitland... but also of many others, at least : - the Fosters : Julianna McCarthy, Brenda Dickson, James Houghton, Charles H. Gray, Bond Gideon - the Brooks : Dorothy Green, Jaime Lyn Bauer, Pamela Peters Solow - the Chancellors : Jeanne Cooper, John Considine, Beau Kayser - the Prentisses : K.T. Stevens, John McCook, Tom Ligon - the Reeds : Roberta Leighton, Erica Hope - the Williams/Stevens : Brett Hadley, Carolyn Conwell, David Winn, Tammy Taylor, Melinda Cordell, Janet Wood - the Abbotts : Brett Halsey, Marla Adams - and miscellaneous ones : Jeff Cooper, Meg Bennett, Michael Evans, Margaret Mason, Steven Ford, Alex Donnelley, Michael Damian, Patty Weaver, Frank M. Benard, Lauren Koslow, Colleen Casey, Susan Seaforth Hayes, Robert Parucha, Don Diamont... Since the scripts don't mention the actors' name but only the characters', I guess it would be difficult to guess from them the first airdate of an actor who comes after another one, like : - Donnelly Rhodes in 1974 (Phillip) - David Hasselhoff in 1975 (Snapper) - Brian Kerwin in 1976 (Greg) - Caleb Stoddard in 1976 (Derek) - Victoria Mallory in 1977 (Leslie) - Joe LaDue in 1977 (Derek) - Wings Hauser in 1977 (Greg) - Lynne Topping Richter in 1979 (Chris) - Deborah Adair in 1980 (Jill) - Lilibet Stern in 1980 (Patty) - Dennis Cole in 1981 (Lance) - Howard McGillin in 1981 (Greg) - Jerry Douglas in 1982 (John) - Brenda Dickson in 1983 (Jill) - Andrea Evans Massey in 1983 (Patty) unless a significant time has passed between 2 actors' tenure...
  9. As you may remember, in 2016 when Y&R celebrated the 11 000th episode, the actors were photographed with signs showing their first episode's number. You can see theses photos here : https://www.soap-passion.com/news-soaps/1047-le-11-000eme-episode-des-feux-de-l-amour-arrive-cette-semaine.html But unfortunately I haven't seen any photo of Beth Maitland from this event... And I don't know yet when she appeared in 1982. As for Melody, if we believe in these photographs, her first episode is #1503, which is certainly dated February 20, 1979, according to episode counts, dates on the scripts and preemptions around this date. Melody's first airdate is confirmed by these articles I could find : - https://ew.com/tv/2019/02/19/melody-thomas-scott-40th-anniversary-young-and-the-restless/ - https://www.ocregister.com/2019/02/20/young-and-the-restless-devotes-entire-episode-to-nikki-newman-on-soap-characters-40th-anniversary/ - https://www.fame10.com/trending-news/yr-to-honor-melody-thomas-scotts-40th-anniversary-on-the-series-with-special-episode/ - https://www.soapoperanews.net/2020/02/melody-thomas-scott-celebrates-41-years.html
  10. I've added an actors/characters section to the guide of episodes mentioned above, with first and last airdates... The dates were obtained mainly from videos of the episodes, or from detailed recaps or reliable sources. However mistakes can always occur, please let me know and I'll update the document! Also if you have any further info... Web link : http://www.feuxdelamour.com/guide.pdf
  11. The last episode broadcast by TF1 is #11202 (June 20th, 2017). All the TF1 air dates (1989-2020) are compiled in this guide (as well as the CBS ones) : http://www.feuxdelamour.com/guide.pdf
  12. Y&R and ATWT were preempted on 25/12/1989, CBS broadcast the movie "The Homecoming: A Christmas Story" (1971). Sources : - Toledo Blade, December 25, 1989, page 40 - Argus-Press, December 22, 1989, page 14 More generally, if this can help you : - The Argus-Press newspaper published every Friday the TV programs for the following week. This newspaper is readable here. - The Toledo Blade newspaper published every Sunday the TV programs for the following week. This newspaper is readable here.
  13. Thanks a lot @soapfan770 for this info! Which episodes did they reair in 2010, and on which days did they do it ?
  14. I only watch Y&R, so I can only give you the dates when Y&R was preempted due to the O.J. Simpson affair (preemptions for ATWT can differ) : - Depending on the regions, 29/06/1994 or 11/07/1994 : in some regions, the episode #5399 partially broadcast on 28/06/1994 was repeated on 29/06 ; in other regions, the episode #5400 broadcast on 29/06/1994 was repeated on 11/07/1994 - 30/06/1994 - 01/07/1994 - 05/07/1994 - 06/07/1994 - 07/07/1994 - 08/07/1994 - 25/07/1994 - 23/01/1995 - 03/10/1995 So totally 10 preemptions. I obtained most of this info with the following Usenet newsgroups : - rec.arts.tv.soaps - rec.arts.tv.soaps.cbs People used to publish there daily updates and/or to comment the episodes, and sometimes even mentioned the preemptions. It's a great source of info. The 1st newsgroup was used from 1988, the second one from 1994. I know another newsgroup with messages about soaps, up to 1984 : net.tv.soaps And in case this could help you, I've created a guide for Y&R, with air dates, tape dates, a full list of preemptions... since the beginning (1973) : http://www.feuxdelamour.com/guide.pdf
  15. I've created a guide for the episodes, with air dates, tape dates, list of preemptions... since the beginning : http://www.feuxdelamour.com/guide.pdf As the best historians of Y&R are involved in this board's topic, any info to complete or correct the document will be highly welcomed 🙂
  16. I've carried out some research about the preemptions during the Spring / Summer 1987, during which the Iran-Contra hearings caused preemptions for soap operas. I've compiled the information I obtained on this page : https://docs.google.com/document/d/1trpdN7MD32DuQndhzfNFJI7ZBb-sLNQI9bPM3p_zMj4/ Any info to complete or correct this document will be highly appreciated!
