Yeah sorry, that wasn't aimed at you, it's just obvious that they won't ever get rid of Phil, but Ronnie and Roxy seemingly because they've been in it a shorter amount of time. I've rather been enjoying the Denise baby story ironically, maybe because it doesn't seem as predictable as other stories, I've liked Kim's involvement too.

Why should Phil get away with his crimes any more than Ronnie though? I way prefer Ronnie and Roxy over Phil, Ben's the only reason I'd like Phil to stay, they'd never have anything happen to Phil. Can't believe some of the episodes have had me liking Jane lately

I'm about 10 episodes behind but I've watched 2 episodes and noticed a dramatic change in tone and came here to post, then saw you've all been talking about it, as has DS. The change was dramatic, the everyday scenes are more prominent and there seems to be depth in most scenes. I was getting so bored hence the build up of episodes but it captured my attention a lot more once I started again. They've used Sonia a lot better, I love her.

I'm glad you're taking an interest in Neighbours. I'm watching some 2007 at the moment, around the time of the Ned/Janae/Kirsten stuff, the 2007 cliffhanger was immense with the roof collapse!

I haven't liked them much so far but that's a minority view as most people seem to really like them. David seems like the one with the most potential

New Jordan was hot and a good re-cast, I thought he would be sticking around so I was annoyed when he didn't. I'd prefer him over Chelsea but I wouldn't mind Chelsea. I never want to see Libby again unless she is re-cast. Liam or Cindy Jnr would be cool but I don't think there's enough of their family around, I'd rather have Jordan back.

Yeah she was quite close to Steph, and also Libby. It will be interesting to see her screen time with Steph and the Kennedys, as well as obviously Toadie. I'm so excited!

Shame DRW50, I'd be interested to see what you think. Nothing about it lures you in? It's certainly more enjoyable than EastEnders and Home and Away at the moment. I tried giving Bold and the Beautiful a go recently, but couldn't get into it. Today's episode is worth a watch, Carla Bonner gave a great performance.

The kidnappers looked and sounded more like in the closet gays than gay bashers. It was totally laughable. Phil having a baby with Denise is just ridiculous, as if the Mitchells don't have enough stories Did I miss something, why was Mark hanging around with Shakil all the time?

It's a shame cause Neighbours is my favourite and I really like seeing the opinions of the members on here but no-one watches it!! Haha.

I already watch the 4 UK shows, Shortland Street, and Red Rock, so it would be insane of me to try and fit in the AUS shows. However, like the US soaps, I do keep up with them. I wouldn't bother with Home and Away at the moment. I watch it/keep up with it out of loyalty but that's it. Neighbours actually is good at the moment, certainly better than Emmerdale and Hollyoaks, how can you watch Hollyoaks over Neighbours seriously :P Just kidding.

Seeing Mark Jr speaking in an English accent is making me want to kill everyone. I couldn't care less about how attractive he is. Epic fail.

I think the key is in returns now. Probably for the best that some of these long-termers go, thinking about it, but there's so much room for returning characters to really inject some life into the existing characters' stories. Like you say, Zainab & Chelsea, would really give Masood and Denise new leases of life. I think Lisa is also needed (guest), as well as a permanent return for Sam (Kim or re-cast), Tanya (guest return). I'm wondering if Mel will return as Sean was working for EE when she was last in the show. I would also re-cast Abi, move Whitney in with the Fowlers as suggested on DS and set Steven up long term with Ben (or Johnny). He could move in with the Carters and work at the pub, or stay where he's living now and work at the pub.

Woahhh long list!! I'm actually dying to see what this man's next move is. Do you think he has plans for any returns? I'm hoping Lisa, and NothinButAttitude - we could well see a Zainab return with someone new at the helm, you never know. I also think if they insist on keeping Lauren and Abi then Tanya needs to return, for a guest stint at least. I don't get the fuss around Stacey. I find her a wooden actress in the everyday storylines. But I liked someone's suggestion on DS that Whitney could move in with Martin and Stacey if she breaks up with Lee.

Ugh I hope not, the actor is gorgeous, and the character has so much potential. TBH I'd rather they paired him with Ben, I could imagine them having a very fiery relationship which would be great to watch between 2 gay characters. DS seem dead against it though due to them being related, they're not blood related though. I hope Steven doesn't go psycho ugh.

I agree, Lee is the best Carter. His depression storyline has been extremely realistic IMO and it's nice to see an understated portrayal of it rather than a sufferer to be portrayed as totally unhinged/unstable, Lee leads a normal life. Him and Les leaving cuts short 2 very relevant and important storylines. Someone on DS suggested Steven working at the Vic, I like that idea and him and Johnny having a romance, that's if Johnny is sticking around. I do worry about this as I think they may all be replaced by worse characters. EE always struggled with bedding in new characters.

NothinButAttitude, I like your suggestions for Masood and Denise. I presumed Nina didn't want to return. Fair enough with Patrick. I still think Kyle and Billy are wastes though. I've been surprised by all the axings so far apart from Les and Pam.
