The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
Well, aren't I Little Miss Productivity today? Two short fics, finished Chapter One of Here's to You, Sister Suffragette, and made an Ickle LuNacy Vid! Yup, finally got around to doing a vid to Billie Holiday's "Them There Eyes." It's tiny--only about 5 megs--so the download time should be fairly quick. Feedback, as always, is met with utter adoration and gratitude! ETA: Did another prompt. Prompt #6: Hot Chili Diablo: Luke tries to sell Tracy on a money-making scheme for the Haunted Star. Pure LuNacy Fluff . ETA: Spoilers for this week > > look pretty gruesome on the LuNacy front. The only remotely close thing is "Luke warns Lulu to stay away from Helena." (Wow. That was a spoiler? What's the spoiler for next week? Tracy warns Dillon to stay away from poisonous gas leaks?) Of course, there is also the death tomorrow for Justus. Please, gods, amidst the angst, let TQ be TQ and make at least a cursory stab at regaining her position at ELQ! It's horrible, callous, and opportunistic, but it would be SUCH a Tracy thing to do....

Squeeing with much happiness over the feedback from Ms.Q! Speaking of fanfic, I just finished part one of the Tracy/Alice femslash story. It's 18 pages long, completely from Alice's POV, and ends with them in bed together. Part Two will start up from "the morning after," completely from Tracy's POV. I'm hoping that, after reading this story, even some of the folks on this thread will like Alice. I know that, 18 pages later, I'm totally falling in love with her..... ETA: Page 85!!!!! (singing) I'm getting the breadmaker, I'm getting the breadmaker!! (/singing) Oh, wait...that's not till page 100.....

I've updated my 100 Situations table. Prompts 4 & 5 have been posted. Prompt #4: Late: Whatever the Sacrifice: set between The City and TQ's return in 1996. Dillon is missing, and Tracy fears her mafia connections have a part in it. ETA: Fey thought this story was a bit OOC--that Tracy went a little overboard with worry. I personally think, given how much these guys hate her, that she was perfectly justified in worrying. YMMV. Prompt #5: Son: Master Plan: Past!fic. Young Tracy and Alan discuss career plans. Feedback, of course, of the good and not so good variety, is always welcomed.

JE: smaller role vs. larger role. I think it's probably part the producers and part JE that she works so little. At this point in her career, when she's pretty much reached "venerable" stage, I'm pretty sure she can negotiate a very good salary. (She strikes me as someone who is financially savvy, probably through hard experience.) I'm also sure that she likes having the freedom to spend time with her daughter (who I guess is in high school around now). She was pretty adamant about raising her kids on the East Coast, so perhaps she maintains homes in both places, and having a flexible schedule allows her to film in SoCal and still keep her kid in school back East. All speculation, of course, from what I've read. Thanks for the feedback on "Heartless." Prompt #4 (Late) s going to be a Tracy-Dillon story, set between The City and her return to GH.

I caught that, too. *scratches head in confusion* So, dude, if you'd go to all those lengths to get her back on the show, why won't you use her now that you've got her? Prompt #3 - Sunrise for the 100 Situations challenge has been posted at the TQ Ficathon. LuNacy, not smutty at all. Set during the Monkey Fever SL. ETA: Jenn Billingsley has Vol. 2 of the Luke/Tracy edit tapes for sale. We've bought a few of the edit tapes from her, and she's very reliable. The edit tapes are great except they're created in Palladium, which for some reason kills any attempts to use the clips in WMM. Of course, if you're just looking to watch (and not make vids), these tapes are wonderful. ETA2: I hope Kenna doesn't mind me posting one of her links, but after watching this clip last night, I had to share. I call it Yet Another Reason to Despise Sonny Corinthos - 1996 (and I used to like him...really...) It pains me, enrages me, to see Our Girl reduced to this.... (Kenna didn't say who to credit the video with, so I'll just credit her for sending it to me.)

*waves to all* Ya'll have been posting like crazy, haven't you? Ms.Q, I loved the long interview with JE you posted. She's a rather sharp cookie, isn't she? I like that.
-
The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
LOL. We know who the smut hounds are on this group, don't we? Yeah, Ms.Q, it went a bit far, but that just felt right with the characters. Just from that little clip, I got the sense that 90% of their relationship (when it worked) was sex, and the rest fighting. I would love to see actual interaction between them, although JE was sizzling in that little "Maybe I will, maybe I won't" clip. Or maybe I'm just a little over the top. So...any TQ today? Honestly, I'm just getting tired of even asking this question. We shouldn't have to ask this question. We should have to ask the question: Hey, where was that mobster guy? What was his name? Sony? And his annoying girlfriend, Umily?

The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
kinky..... Anybody know if TQ is supposed to be on today? Oh, and yeah, Fey did manage to cut off TQ's first scene yesterday. Would anybody be willing to post the clips? Writing prompt #3 in my head as we speak and, I promise, it won't be nearly as...erm...hormonal as the last one...

To quote Collins from Rent, "Merry Christmas, !@#$%^&*]es!" That's right--I've written prompt #2 for the 100 Situations challenge. The prompt was "Back Alley" and my darling Fey suggested an illicit encounter between TQ and Larry Ashton (back in the pre-Paul days). And as inspired as I was by that luffly promo you guys linked me to, I came up with this raunchy, completely inappropriate, (hopefully) amusing tidbit of PWP smut. Only read if you're over 17. Otherwise, don't tell me, right?

ILoveTracyQ, I'm glad you liked the ficlet. I was trying to show her honestly without being too sentimental--I can see TQ waking up at three in the morning to a screaming baby and hating everything about the baby in that moment. And not denying that she hates him. And you're right--the AU makes this ficlet look like "Pollyanna." I've been avoiding it for a week because I just can't deal with the angst right now. Tracy only reminds me of my mom in that she was the family's black sheep, was held to a double-standard, and was sort of a wild partier in her heyday. She wasn't nearly as messed up emotionally as TQ is, although she did have trouble showing affection. I really identify with Ned and Dillon, in that she drives me crazy, but I dare anybody to mess with her. Then I get all NinjaMinervaFan on them..... MsQ, how early in the show were those two scenes? Because of a miscommunication, the tape didn't get started until about 17 minutes into the show. So if she was in the first section, I'm just...out of luck. Would you be willing to post the clips? I don't mind raw clips, as long as they're on megaupload, yousendit, or sendspace. (Savefile.com hates me and my little Windows Movie Maker, too!)

I wrote the first ficlet for 100 Situations. Posted to TQ Ficathon (and everywhere else, actually). I will not be posting these to FF.net. http://community.livejournal.com/tq_ficathon/26880.html

Here's a top ten for you--Top Ten Reasons to Never Get Pregnant on a Soap Opera 1. Going into labor while stuck in an elevator (usually with a romantic rival). 2. Going into labor after falling down a flight of stairs (usually after being pushed by a romantic rival). 3. Going into labor during The Worst Storm of the Century while stuck in a remote cabin with said romantic rival. 4. Who My Baby Daddy? 5. I know My Baby Daddy, but he's in love with said romantic rival. 6. Tawny Madison is worse at doing maternity wardrobe than she is at regular wardrobe, and that's saying something. 7. All the hormonal angst, none of the benefits of prenatal vitamins. 8. Did I mention the whole going into labor at a bad time while stuck with a romantic rival? 9. No matter how classy, elegant, sophisticated, or brilliant you are, no matter how out of character it might be, the writers are gonna have you stick that child with a stupid name. And then add the word "Baby" in front of it until he or she is in short pants and riding that tricycle to day care. 10. Sooner or later, when you've gotten used to him or her, your baby's going to go through the Soap Aging Process. And at the age of 43, you will be a mother to a 35-year-old.

Great Mother who watches over us all, please protect Keith's brain as he bravely dares to turn on the television and watch General Hospital. Gentle Mother, protect him from the inane plot devices, the overworked dramatic twists, the bad wardrobe, and the denigration of beloved and venerable characters in favor of the younger and less-talented. And dear Mother, please, please, please, let Tracy have a great scene or twelve, preferably with some lusty moments, good hair, no sour facial expressions, and lots of great dialogue. So mote it be. That good enough for ya, Keith? Oh, and the Alice/Tracy femslash has taken on a life of its own. Eleven pages so far, from Alice's POV, and I plan to do a second chapter from Tracy's point of view. Yeah, it's angsty, but it's also going to do a lot of character development for both of them. Hopefully, even ILoveTracyQ will like Alice after this story. (You are going to read it, aren't you? ETA: Hypemuzak (I have no idea what she posts as here) has posted the latest chapter of Homelands over on the TQ Ficathon. It's really, really good. Oh, and ILoveTracyQ and tracyluvr, ya'll need LJ accounts so ya'll can stop posting anonymously. (You'll never get my responses if you keep doing that!) Can I lure you over to the dark side with an offer of a free TracyQ layout, designed by me? Get a free account, let me know, and I'll create a special banner just for you. In fact, if anybody out there has an LJ account and wants a Tracy Q banner for their journal, just let me know and I'll give it a go. But ILoveTracyQ and tracyluvr, ya'll really need to get an account---

Shoot me DED with that promo, Mama. I hated her hair, but loved her attitude. The line was funny--Ned: My father was illegitimate? Tracy: Your father was a bastard... Shoot. Me. DED! And tomorrow, we get Tracy *AND* Helena. Fwee! Almost makes it worth waking up in the morning.

Well...that would just bring the whole "Tracy gets slammed into motherhood" to a new and interesting level, wouldn't it? LOL. You can start breathing again, ILoveTracyQ (or is it tracyluvr?)! Personally, I'm just glad they didn't go with the whole "Tracy is Sam's mother" routine. Of course, that nice little incestuous tie-in would have been fun--she's her boyfriend's cousin! That would provide the Jerry Springer aspect we've come to love with the whole Who My Mommy? SL. Actually, who would it be fun to find out was actually Tracy's kid? Maybe she had a love child with one of her European studs, and it turned out to be....*drumroll*....um.....BABY JOHN JAX! Oh, wait, no! Tracy's long-lost daughter is....MONTANA MOOREHEAD, from The Sun Also Sucks! Okay, now that I've stopped choking....

The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
Poster children for obsessive fandom, huh? *rolls eyes* You are so not the first person to call me that. RUMOR TALK.... I don't believe the Scott Clifton rumor, honestly. Hasn't the kid been up for an Emmy, like every year since he got there? And if they can keep Natalia Livingston, by GAWD, they can keep Scott Clifton. (I really, really like Scott Clifton.....) I'm not sure what you mean by Skye being re-Qd, except that maybe she'll be moving out of Alcazar's and back into the Qmansion? Just how many rooms does that place have, anyway? And more importantly, how many bathrooms?

For those of you wanting inspiration, LJ just started the 100 Situations challenge. Basically, you sign up for a character and choose one of three tables containing 100 prompts. Then, over a period of time, you write fanfic based on those prompts. I picked Tracy, Table One (here is my table of prompts), There are two more tables available, so theoretically, two more people can choose Tracy. (Hint, hint....) You don't have to write long stories--I think the minimum is 200 words, which is about three-five normal sized paragraphs. Sooo....is anybody going to join me in my madness? Could be fun.

Okay, I flew off the handle a little bit. I 'pologized. Little bit....anyway....but I want Tracy listed, dangit. Oh, and btw, have I mentioned recently that I LURVE your Jungle Queen banner? That picture of Luke just cracks me the hell up, and Tracy just looks sooooo darned beautiful in those pictures. ETA: Banished is uploaded. It's rough, no smooth transitions, no fancy effects. Just the clips and a song behind it.

The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
Um, I may have just got myself booted from the LJ General Hospital group. I had a moment of TracyDom and had to post. Where the hell are Jane and Tracy? I will probably get flamed and chastised by the community's mod, but it had to be done. I mean, they frackin' list Leticia! in the interests, but not Jane or Tracy! Of course, I probably just ensured that neither will EVER be listed there....

Hey, Ms. Q, thanks for the feedback. I downloaded your vid--I had thought to do that song, but never could figure out how to make it work for the characters. You did a really good job--yeah, about the transitions. Fey was watching over my shoulder and she said it was her favorite of the vids she's seen (and she's including mine in the mix, that traitor! ) She thought the transitions were...eh...too, but she really liked your selection of clips and how you used them to emphasize the lyrics. (Okay, I give it a 7, she gives it a 9.5. But she and I are soooo different, anyway.) I'm still trying to get her to read "Second Chances." She won't read any WIPs, but she was reading one of the chapters over my shoulder one night and said, "Hey, that's good." I'm like, big ole EYEROLL! I've just been DROOLING over this stupid story for a week.... Started the Tracy/Alice story. Probably will kill the bunny, because it's already threatening to go the angst route (AngstyAlice. Only one of *my* stories would dare to attempt AngstyAlice.....) Anybody got any spoilers? Tracy dumps Luke and Robert, takes over ELQ, rehires Edward as a mail room clerk, renames the company TracyLand, and stages a hostile takeover of General Hospital for the sole purpose of making Alan and Monica call her "ma'am." I'm thinking it's viable...

ya'll kill me with the feedback. thanks. Oh, yeah, there's gonna be small appliances for the person who starts the 100th page. I'm thinking a breadmaker. Of course, it'll have to be a virtual one, but still--ooohh, fresh bread....... Any TQ today? Tell me, please, and help me get through the afternoon..... Got a Tracy/Alice femslash bunny in my head--I promised my partner I would go there, so consider yourselves forwarned.

The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
You know, my Inner Luke is pretty ticked off at me about the whole thing, and has been popping images of the NC-17 rated sequel into my head all through work this morning. (Pretty distracting, actually--especially since the only word I can use to describe their love-making--as Inner Luke transmits it--is "cataclysmic.") There could possibly be a sequel in the future, although I'm getting pretty embarrassed by the number of "first time" fics I've written. I wish the show would just get it over with, so I could move on to something else. As for Tracy pulling the switcheroo, it absolutely *had* to be done. I couldn't (and wouldn't) have written the story any other way. She couldn't sleep with him under those circumstances any more than he could have slept with her when she had issued an ultimatum. It would have been coercion, and it would have set an ugly tone for any future their relationship might have had. They have to come together willingly, or they're doomed. These little power-plays are foreplay, nothing else. Of course, once the foreplay is done and they get down to business--it's gonna be...well, cataclysmic..... Oh, well, back to the AU. It's time to give AU Tracy a leetle teeny tiny nervous breakdown. (Ain't writing fun?) Page 80: Wheee! Only 20 pages till I win my automatic bread maker!!!!!!!
-
The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
Decided to take a break from the angst and write something for the Tracy Gets Even challenge. The bunny and Luke's new nickname came from my girlfriend, whose "Inner Tracy" is frighteningly accurate. The story is called "Double Dare," and the link is http://community.livejournal.com/tq_ficathon/26414.html. I'm also uploading it to FF.net (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2986454/1/), for those of you who don't do LiveJournal. ETA: Does anybody know where I can lay my hands on some clips of Marco Dane? I don't care where it's from, I just want something to get a handle on the character. Preferably with TQ, but anything will do...... ETA...Again: Feeling bored and creative, so I made a new icon. It's a blend of two pictures--I hope it worked okay.
