It just sucks that after the last couple of years the show probably can no longer afford to have both Nikki AND Jill at the same time without one of them having to be on leave because of some stupid sony/contract dispute.

It's interesting to read that Melody had a similar back problem, and that it helped her prepare for the addiction story, and I also wondered if she had to have gotten drunk in real life to realize what it felt like to play an alcoholic everyday.

Despite all the negativity that people try to bring on from Melody, at least she is very passionate about the type of different roles she has to play as Nikki. Too many people just phone in today.

LOL I'm like that too whenever they play a classic Y&R score or cue, I tune out the dialogue mostly because i'm either shocked or in awe (or both LOL) that they are actually playing a classic piece of Y&R music.

I really like the show's softer piano "ballad" music they use to play for quiet tender or heart wrenching scenes. These 2 clips feature two versions of one of my favorite piano pieces.

I didn't even realize that Lauren and Traci still sang with Danny in 1992. I thought the last time Lauren and Traci actually sang on the show was the Masquerade Balll

I wonder if Sheila ever attended any of Danny's concerts. I would kill to know if she ever reacted to Lauren's singing.

I really hope they make a new soundtrack for the show's 40th anniversary. It's time to include all those haunting music tracks that you hear 95% of the time during the show in the mid 80's/early 90's.

Unfortunately I'm not sure if there is a way to download the 1974 album.

I'm thankful that they are all included on this site, but I wish the other scores were available for listening.

I actually think there were a few more concerts in 1993, before Danny moved to New York. I read a few recaps where Danny performed some songs from Joseph during his concerts.

What I was surprise to find out though, was when Danny came back fall 1994, Lauren who all of a sudden was back in Danny's orbits actually sang with him during a rehersal or something.

It wouldn't have been a shock if it actually turned out that way, isn't Santa Barbara sort of close to Beverly Hills anyway?

It's nice to see that there was a time where they didn't think the viewers were too stupid to realize that someone had been recast or something.

Here's an extremely rare clip of Gina singing the Y&R theme, with Scott,Cricket,Brad and Ashley in the background. This has to be from 1989?

I didn't realize she sang this song more than once, as i know there is that one clip where she sang during the show's 10th anniversary week in 1983.

The third clip (which for some reason is not letting me paste on here) shows how Lauren and Molly were rescued, and also has that famous scene of Lauren getting her baby back as they play "Bless the beast and the Children" Which I had recognize and didn't realize that the instrumental version of this song was also used as background music during the 70's and a couple episodes i uploaded from the 90's.

I don't hate the updated opening but i'm kind of hoping already they do another update by the end of the year, knowing JFP i wouldn't be surprise if that happens.

A Y&R fan and one of my youtube friends from France put it together, it is a list of all the Y&R background music and cues from over the years. It tells you when the show started using a specific score or cue. Very neat, but unfortunately I'm not exactly sure which scores are what, unless you have the 1974 soundtrack, or the 25th anniversary soundtrack which has most of the scores they used from the mid 90's (which are used mostly on my 1994 episodes)

Please all you Y&R background music experts, post links if you recognize what tittle is what cue.
