  1. I'm watching the RHOBH finale and Ken is serving these bitches DUST. I lurve this!!!! Kim apologizing to him was the most awkward thing ever lol. I knew I always liked Ken for a reason.
  2. To fill you in, Lydia quit at the last minute which I think threw them for a loop. Rumor-mill has it that they had difficulty finding new wives since OC doesn't pay as well as others. Gretchen was fired due to testing poorly in focus groups who found her storylines fake. My guess is that Alexis simply was played out. She was only invited last year as a last minute desperation move. Considering all the stress they had putting the season together, I do think it looks good. Season 8 was a nice send off for the old era with the 100 episode celebration, the return of an original housewife and a cast mostly made up of people we're familiar with. Now they can hopefully have a successful reboot and continue on for many years. IMO RHOC is the most rock solid of the franchises. The ladies and producers know their stuff. Even the one-season housewives tend to be good. They know the secret to keeping things fresh.
  3. RHODC was panned before it even premiered. It had huge amounts of bad press because of the White House incident. The ratings also weren't terrible. They were certainly better than Miami which got a reprieve. They were good enough for a second season IMO.
  4. Kyle and Carlton both look stunning. The others all look "meh" to "terrible" IMO. On the Carole/Aviva front I feel I need to comment because I see comments all over about Carole being bitchy. I do see where she is coming from. She said that Aviva told her and Heather that she had apologized for the things she did to Ramona and Sonja which is why they had remained friendly and defensive of her as the season went on. Once it began airing and Aviva was trashing them week-after-week (including the first week of St. Barth's), it proved that she was lying. She only started apologizing after she got viewer backlash. I can see how Heather and Carole could feel burned by Aviva in that regard. I think ALL of the ladies have bent over backwards to accommodate Aviva, which almost makes it seem like they are scared of her. I took Ramona and Sonja making up with her as meaning they simply didn't want the drama of dealing with her, not that they genuinely forgive her and want to be her friend.
  5. Yes! They could've added Erica and perhaps an unrelated housewife, but considering the juicy stories we know happened, they were fools to cancel it. EVERYBODY got divorced and I'm sure Lynda and Ebong are done as well. Looking at how hard it was to squeeze juice out of Miami, they could've saved themselves a headache by just giving DC a chance to thrive on it's own.
  6. I mentioned earlier that I was re-watching RHOA for the first time since it originally aired and now I'm halfway through with season one. I also decided to go ahead to slowly start purchasing the older seasons of RHONY, RHOC and the only RHODC season. So far I've watched 3 episodes of DC and it gets better with age. One thing that I like is that there is wealth, but a DC wealth and not what you would get in New York, Beverly Hills or a Miami. I think the lack of glamour is a part of what may have done this show in. The closest you get to the typical wealth comes from the Snake Oil Salesmen, Tarq and Michaele. So far we've seen them try to pass off beer as wine, have their lawyer threaten Paul with a lawsuit if he doesn't provide a signed document absolving them of having to pay for his birthday party that THEY planned and threw and then jumping at a last minute trip to Paris with Stacie! It's just crazy! How they managed to stay out of jail with the high level of fraud they were presenting is beyond me. Another thing I like with DC is that they're honest about the women getting to know each other. Cat is clearly new to DC and that is acknowledged and a major part of her story arc. Stacie is also new to this group and they allow us to see her become friends with the ladies instead of creating a ridiculous tie to one and forcing her on that person. Mary, Lynda, Michaele and Paul all know each other and that is enough. I also think that Paul comes off more like a housewife than I remembered. He is featured as much as the housewives, including in scenes by himself (with talking heads) at his apartment. Maybe for season two he should've been made a housewife. In general they definately understood that "Friends of the Housewives" are a good thing. We have so many of them, plus the husbands get a big focus here. I've always liked DC, but re-watching it is definitely giving me a new appreciation for it. Very interesting, different take on a Real Housewives series and very real. They did it their own way and I feel they have one good season to be proud of. Their one big mistake was making the White House incident the season finale as opposed to letting it fall in the middle of the season as it actually happened. Perhaps it could've given them a mid-season ratings boost, which they could've sustained since we know they still had all of the Cat/Erika drama after that, plus Mary's fashion show (which they cut) along with most of the other footage which couldn't be used due to the new timeline.
  7. The irony here is that you see Aviva fighting with everyone except Ramona and Sonja in the supertrailer. You also see Kristen arguing with a lot of the women. I'm curious where things settle between everyone and what the MAJOR conflicts will be as opposed to misunderstandings. Please stop. It's not fair to post a gif from the greatest reunion ever when Beverly Hills is about to air a tired 3-part starting tomorrow. Just not fair.
  8. I know this season of RHOBH was mostly a bust, but I really hope they keep both new housewives! I know I've said it before, but I'm watching the last three episodes and both of the new girls blend so well. Plus with Lisa only speaking to them, it would make sense to keep them. Carlton in particular is PERFECT in scenes with Lisa. I enjoy them together not in a Ramona/Sonja, Nene/Kim sort of way, but they just seem to clique. I think it's the fact that they're both British. As long as they keep Carlton away from trying to be sexy I do feel like she can be interesting. I also love her with Kyle. If they could keep mostly the same cast, minus Kim and bring back Camille and/or Adrienne things would explode. ETA: And how could I forget? Now that I've seen it I am still Team Lisa. Yolanda and Kim came off TERRIBLY in the Puerto Rico scenes. I think Kyle came out the best because she was being reasonable and trying to find answers. Yolanda was going off on Ken at the beach before he had even done anything and Kim just needs to shut her ass up. She needs to give them their Tiffany gift back if she is going to continue to hold it against them for TELLING HER they weren't coming to her stupid ass party and sending an EXPENSIVE gift.
  9. Nene is hard headed, but for Aviva it goes far beyond that. I think Aviva's biggest problem is that she wasn't being herself so now that truer parts of her personality have come out it's hard for her to maintain her previous persona with the reality of who she is.
  10. New York was perfection. Not only did the show look beautiful, but the chemistry works among the ladies and they all brought it with the fashions. I know many hate the "pile-ups" on these shows, but the situation with Aviva is a little unique. Besides Nene, I don't think there has been a housewife that is as set in her ways. Aviva believed her hype last season and during and after filming never saw where she was in the wrong. It was so obvious at the reunion that she wanted to kill everybody, but she had to keep quiet to try and salvage her image. With the premiere it seems like she's doing the same, but again it doesn't seem genuine. It's not a surprise starting next week that she kicks off all the drama. She's clearly very angry for being "wronged" and there is no way she can hold it in. I can't wait for Carole vs Aviva. The Bravo clips look good! Kristen was a perfect choice. She seems to be a good age, is an actual housewife and has something new to bring to the show. She seems like a less trashy Brandi Glanville, so I can see how they are friends. Sonja is the mess she always is, but her outfits were stunning so I forgive her. Speaking of stunning, Ramona DID look a million bucks. Her look was on point and I liked how subdued, but Ramona-ish she was. I know opinions are mixed, but she is truly a RH star and certainly earned the right to be the last one standing here. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Carole and Heather's developed friendship. You can tell it's genuine and they just seem FUN together. I've always loved Carole and she didn't disappoint this week. I think she has great talking heads (as a writer I expect nothing less), her fashions are fun and I do think she's reasonable in her interactions with the other ladies. I don't see her seeing out a lot of trouble, but I look forward to seeing how she handles the conflict with Aviva. I didn't miss The Countess, but I think that's mostly because the premiere felt very full and I know she'll appear heavily later on. After a truly terrible season of Beverly Hills I'm glad that NYC is back and seems on course to have a memorable season. I hope the ratings perk up.
  11. Kenya's acting career has been much more successful than Nene and I'm sure she's made a lot more money as well (from acting, not reality tv). Kenya has had regular guest starring roles for almost 20 years, plus small film parts and bigger parts in Direct To DVD films. She's also produced films. I don't think she has anything to be ashamed of in terms of her career. I do think it's stupid of her not to pursue acting again now that she has the platform of this show. As for Nene's acting career, so far she has TWO roles given to her by the same person. My guess is that he liked RHOA and Nene and wanted her on the show, period. Until she starts getting other types of acting gigs then I don't think it's fair to say she's a successful actor yet. I think she COULD be, but I don't know that she wants to work as hard as it would take to get there. From Glee and The New Normal it was clear she still needs lots of acting class to carry her natural charisma through. In other housewives news, I decided to buy season 1 of RHONY, RHODC and RHOA on Amazon Video and I'm starting with RHOA, which I haven't re-watched since it first aired. This is like an entirely new show, but even with DeShawn, this show was perfectly cast. With DeShawn I wouldn't have wanted her long term, but she served her purpose well in season one and at least added the money element to the show. She also had a disasterous charity event, which these shows thrive on. ETA: I just reached Sheree's introduction and she is RIDICULOUS!! When I think of her I think of brokeness so this is just shocking. Her staff with a chef, maid, PR person, assistant AND hairstylist Lawrence (who I didn't realize was an original cast member!)! This stuff is nuts. Re-watching this is reminding me how PERFECT Sheree's arc was from seasons 1-4. This is a true downfall of a tired bitch. I know many say that RHOC showed the recession, but Sheree is just perfection when it comes to the overspending athlete wives.
  12. April 14. Supertrailer: http://www.eonline.com/news/519451/real-housewives-of-orange-county-season-9-first-look-meet-the-new-ladies-of-the-oc-watch-now It's interesting that the "fame whore" Danielle that we heard so much about isn't an official housewife. I must say, the revamp looks absolutely successful. Gretchen and Alexis had their day, but I LOVE the way OC revamps itself. This season looks very interesting and modern for a Real Housewives series, but I didn't feel like they were trying too hard or manipulating things to make it interesting. Between this and RHONY, I'm going to be a happy camper the next few months.
  13. I love that when Brandi is clearly trying to reconcile with Ken and Lisa his face basically says it all. I feel she pulled a Jill Zarin and like Jill with Bethenny, this is going to backfire on her. It's like the exact same story. I'm sure they knew this season lacked storyline so Brandi created this feud with Lisa in an effort to get big ratings and headlines. Only problem is, it only worked in Lisa's favor. I didn't think Joyce and Carlton were huge successes, but I think they both need to come back similar to RHONY bringing back all 3 new women. I would dump Kim and bring in one new HW, but somebody very rich and very dynamic. If they could get Lisa Rinna that would be great. Not only is she rich and an over the top personality, but she's already well connected in the cast and her family life would be interesting. Or they could go against type and finally cast a black housewife. Next season also needs to bring back the "friends" and I'd go as far as to say they need new producers at this point. I wouldn't drastically change the cast though.
  14. I have nicer wigs than that mess on her head.
  15. Cheap I LOVE those GIFs! Melbourne is giving me everything I need after this boring season of Beverly Hills. I'm going to be in heaven with NYC, Melbourne and the neverending ATL saga. Jackie is an ABSOLUTE NUT! I love her! I do agree that Chyka reminds you of Jeana, but she is so much classier than Jeana was. I LOVE her. I also am in love with Lydia who is so beautiful, but naughty and knows how to stir the pot. I wonder what kind of reunion host they'll have. Vancouver did a good job of recasting Andy for theirs.
  16. I stopped watching around when Sienna arrived and I didn't care for her. Can't believe she's a nut now. I haven't seen her yet in the episodes on Hulu. I DID see Teresa's exit which was very interesting. I LOVED the conflict with Carmel and the misunderstanding that led to her arrest. This whole story is a good use of history. I wonder what the future holds for Sonny. Although he was avenging his brothers death, he went a bit vigilante about it so I didn't feel anything sympathy for him. I thought he was a jerk as a teen and he's still a jerk.
  17. Bravo has 3 RHONY clips from episode one up: http://www.bravotv.com/the-real-housewives-of-new-york-city "She's sucking up my ass." I REALLY can't wait for them to get this ball rolling.
  18. The second Mary was great and could've sustained the character for the rest of the run. Had they kept her and Sarah Felder the show would've been a lot better off IMO. The two following Mary recasts were terrible. I know Nicollette is considered to be the "good" recast, but she played Mary in such a shrill and annoying manner.
  19. Okay the show is on Hulu and of course I am back. I will never leave Hollyoaks now. I find it a bit of a pain to watch stuff on my laptop so I'm glad I have a TV option for this. It looks GREAT on TV and the production values seem to only get better with time. I don't really know what to think about stories yet since I've only watched about a weeks worth of episodes. After 20 episodes I should have a better idea. I need to get to know so many characters.
  20. Real Housewives of Melbourne is EVERYTHING! It's like a mix of Beverly Hills glamour, with the class of the New York women and the grounded nature of DC. There are just enough of all the ingredients that make a Real Housewives show successful. I hope it doesn't become hateful and toxic. I love that the women are mostly smart and have careers. I love that Lydia has a new, rich husband and instead of bumming around or using her husbands money to bankroll a vanity business, she's actually going back to school to get a degree and be self-sufficient. I love that! Janet is also supporting herself, Jackie is a psychic and Gina is a lawyer. I appreciate their over the top-ness more because they're being smart about it. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Jackie the Psychic! She is going to be an absolute delight to watch. So far Lydia, Jackie and Gina are my favorites, but this is a really good cast!
  21. Perhaps it's time to get new producers for Beverly Hills? I do think the cast needs a reboot since they never successfully replaced Camille, Adrienne and Taylor. New York got new producers this season and again, they have the same cast but it looks promising. I think it would be a mistake to clean house on Beverly Hills, but they need better producers and one or two very dynamic new housewives. I'd keep Carlton and Joyce as well.
  22. I wonder why they didn't put New York in Beverly Hills slot. I wonder if that means they plan on premiering OC soon and will put that on Mondays. Then again, OC could airing on Sundays. ETA: After how Nene made a fool of herself on Celebrity Apprentice, I'm not sure how she'll do on DWtS. I'm sure she'll make headlines, but will it be for the right reasons? It's good that she got another paycheck though! Of course we know she won't be a good dancer, so I'm wondering how she's going to react to the judges critiques. Especially Bruno. I predict she'll make another homophobic remark on live TV and being a mainstream show, she's going to get eaten alive if that happens. She doesn't take criticism well, or other people doing better than her so it's absolutely the wrong move for her.
  23. Another thing, when everybody is calling Marlo and opportunist, they always say Kenya needs her so she has somebody to film with. Honestly, these boring hoes need KENYA more than she needs them. Kandi is the only one I'd say who has a strong enough story on her own where she doesn't need the women as much. Phaedra, Porsha and Cynthia definitely(and Nene too) benefit from filming with her. Also, Cynthia and Kandi seem to be fine filming with Kenya, despite the story everybody wants to spin. And Marlo doesn't need to film with Kenya for screentime because NENE has invited Marlo to several major events that could give her screentime, but she hasn't appeared at those events. My guess is that she had club bookings since RHOA went so far in the season without asking her to film. By the time she returned to the show it was too late to cancel her obligations.
  24. To be clear, I wasn't throwing shade, I was being pretty direct and I'm not up Kenya's ass. Still at this point I like Nene more than I like Kenya. I find this buffoonery to be entertaining. I felt she was completely in the wrong on Celebrity Apprentice and many times on this show, but I LOVE watching this craziness. Kenya is okay, but it's not a matter of preferring Kenya over Nene, it's about Nene acting a fool IMO. I still see flaws in Kenya and Marlo, but they are still entertaining and I don't feel like they're damaging their brand. Nene is clearly damaging her brand, which is the problem. She needs to step back and get rid of her ego, which is her main problem. She can choke people out, cuss them out and act crazy, but her ego is killing her.
  25. Peter Thomas is NOT a bitch. He is the only friend Nene has and I include her sorry ass husband when I say that. NOBODY is being real with her, from her fans (see: Mr. Vixen) to her "friends" (see: Diana, Cynthia, etc.) and clearly her business team. The fact that she hasn't started the apology train yet is amazing. You can try and spin it and come up with excuses, but her behavior is a major problem this season and it looks bad on her. Nobody is being honest with her and this is just going to get worse. Peter is the only person who is being honest with her and I also feel he's being respectful about it. He was NOT rude at Kenya's charity event and he wasn't even talking to her initially. It's a shame Nene doesn't have more Peter's.
