    'InTurn's "World" Starts Turning!

Fans know her as Geneva, the fiesty, emotional redhead from the CBS streaming video channel Innertube's original series 'InTurn'. Cast members and crew at "The World of Oakdale" began knowing her as "Erin" this week. While real life winner Alex will begin staking his claim on the real show sometime in late September, Geneva will be the one appearing in a 13-week contract on the "As The World Turns" fan fiction, "The World Of Oakdale".

Geneva will be portraying the role of runaway "Erin Spillers" starting October 2. Erin's arrival into Oakdale can be noted as anything but calm. "She definitely brings chaos with her wherever she goes," chuckles Executive Producer and Headwriter Dusty Alford. "Erin is a good kid, but she just does what she can to support herself and if that means stabbing someone in the back and then running away with their wallet, [laughs] then she'll do it."

Fans may be wondering why TPTB are bringing a newbie on board...making this the fourth or fifth new character to debut since the birth of 'TWOO'. Well, evidently, they have an aswer for us. "When I first thought of bringing Geneva aboard as 'Erin', I attributed the character to a female version of 'Henry'," says Alford. "But the more I thought about it, the more I began to think 'There's so much more we can add to this character...so why not have some family ties in Oakdale to keep her here for as long as possible.' "

Alford declined to comment when asked who exactly Erin's family is or what relationship there are to her.

    "Belle" Comes To Oakdale!

This just in! According to the latest issue of Oakdale Digest, a character from 'Through The Hourglass', a DAYS fan fiction written and produced by Drew Hamilton and Jake Powerz, will be crossing over to 'The World Of Oakdale' next week. That character is Belle Brady-Kiriakis.

"Drew and I met and discussed ways for a character from his soap to cross over to mine and vice versa. Once we got together, everything just kind of worked itself out," says 'The World Of Oakdale' Executive Producer and Headwriter Dusty Alford.

"Belle comes to town to help her friend, fashionista Jennifer Munson during Threadz's ad campaign for its upcoming summer line. While she's in town, she gives Jennifer a few words to live by." Though it is a very brief visit, Belle's visit imapcts Jennifer and her way of thinking."

And according to Alford, the crossovers aren't through yet. "Drew and I inked a deal for not only a character from his soap to come to mine, but we also kind of talked about a potential crossover from my soap to his. Though that won't happen until late summer or early fall, we are definitely excited about that, also."

"We hope to gain some extra audience members we may have not had any prior contact with before by doing this crossover. There are definitely some 'Through The Hourglass' fans that are also ATWT watchers and will be intrigued with my take on the classic soap opera, also known as 'The Word Of Oakdale', concludes Alford. "And hopefully, they'll stay after the crossover.

Look for "Belle" to come to town Wednesday, June 14 and leave on Thursday, June 15.

    WADDELL OUT!

Due to a lack of story, Ernest Waddell has been let go. Waddell, who played the role of Ben's adopted son Curtis, was last seen Wednesday, May 31st when he packed his bags and headed to New York for a job. There are no current plans for the character to be recast.

According to Executive Producer and Headwriter Dusty Alford, "We wrapped up the cult storyline and it seemed to go downhill after that. Curtis has never been a major character, forgive me, though we love Ernest and think of him very highly as an actor. There was just no room for the character on the canvas."

Ben and Jessica fans need not be worried, though, says Alford. "We may not be featuring them right now, but they will definitely play a role in an upcoming storlyine we have planned for Tom and Margo." Current rumors are saying that once this storyline takes off...Ben, Jessica, Margo, and Tom will never be the same.

And if the rumors are true, before the summer ends...there will be five actors looking for work!

    An Anniversary Outta This 'World'!

Can you believe it?! It's been a whole year (almost) since the creation of the blog and I am planning the biggest anniversary celebration ever!

The blog will feature all brand-new episodes this week, but unfortunately, will be on hiatus all next week due to my upcoming surgery. (Don't worry...it's nothing major! I promise...)

Then... on Saturday, December 16th, I will post "Episode 249", the episode before the anniversary special. It will include almost every member of the cast as they gather at Grant and Lisa's engagment party hosted by Emma. While the event might not be the most glamorous in the world...(the event is taking place in the Snyder barn...decorated to suit, of course)...the night will definitely feature plenty of fireworks.

Immediately after I post "Episode 249", it's up to you (the fans) what happens next. Send me a brief (or detailed) synopses of what you feel should happen in "Episode 250" via private messenger.

And on Tuesday, December 19th..I will post the anniversary episode ("Episode 250"), a conglomeration of all your different snyopses that you all have sent in.

If you plan to participate in this "once-in-a-lifetime" event...then comment below (even if you have agreed to do such via private messenger).

    --------------------------------------------------
    --------------------------------------------------
And now....we return you to your regular broadcast programming.

Until firther notice, the blog has announced that the anniversary show will be postponed. According to Executive Producer/Headwriter Dusty Alford, the fan reaction wasn't as significant as what he imagined. Three synopses were sent in by long time viewers, but that was it. "I know some people have projects with their own blogs, some are out of town, some haven't replied yet, etc. so until I can get more input from the fans, the show is on hiatus and the anniversary show is being postponed".

Katie sits all alone in a suite at the Lakeview. Soon, Lyla emerges, gushing about her new singing job at the Lakeview. Katie, obviously distraught, asks her mother to go ahead and tell her the real reason she has returned to Oakdale.

Brushing away tears from her eyes, Kim reads the latest letter that Chris has sent from prison. Kim knows Chris like the back of her hand. She knows her baby boy wanted what was best for the hospital and never meant to hurt his father. Bob comes in from his latest physical therapy appointment and Kim shows him the letter. Bob rips the letter in a fiery rage and tells Kim that Chris is no son of his.

Barbara slips into the back of Luthers Corners Church and says a silent prayer to herself. The pastor emerges from his office and notes that Barbara hasn't been to the church in years. Barbara asserts it to the hectic work schedule at B.R.O. The pastor notes Barbara's odd speech and asks her about it. Barbara flees the church with tears in her eyes.

Casey brushes past Meg in the Snyder family kitchen. Meg laughs and says that Mama has him working like a slave. Casey huffs, knowing that his part time job as stable boy at Emma Snyder's farm is one of the many experiments that his family has tried to get him back into the swing of Oakdale life. Sofie comes in, searching for Aaron, and literally crashes into Casey.

Carly stands in shock as she watches firefighters douse the blaze that has overtaken Metro. Sam rushes towards her and asks if she's alright. Carly, fuming, asks Sam where he was and why he didn't show up to help her with the new floor plans for the karaoke stage. Sam makes up an excuse and asks Carly to forgive him. Before she can say anything, Jack emerges and tells Carly that the fire wasn't accidental.

Dusty and Emily lay in lovers' bliss inside their hotel room. Dusty knew that taking Emily away from Oakdale would free her mind of Chris and the sham of a romance that she had with him. Emily goes to take a shower and asks Dusty too hand her something from her purse. While going through it, he finds a letter that Chris sent Emily, apologizing for everything. Tearing back the shower curtain, Dusty throws the letter in her face and asks her to explain why she never told him about it.

Coming from his study, Craig asks the maid to prepare hiis luggage. Lucinda comes in and cackles that Craig's latest reign of terror in Oakdale has ended. She was able to resume control of Worldwide, the rift between Lily and Holden that Craig helped widen has been repaired, and Meg has finally given up on him. Craig surprisingly tells Lucinda that she's right...except for one thing. He's not retreating. He's going to pick up Lucy and Johnny in Barbados.

    Just a reminder...
The World of Oakdale will be pre-empted all this week due to personal reasons, but expect a new episode to be posted on Saturday.

After that episode is posted, you have 48 hours to submit what you think should happen in the 1 year anniversary episode (scheduled for December 19th).

    I hope all readers participate

    Oakdale Loves 'Lucy'

Peyton List will be returning to the role of Lucinda Marie "Lucy" Montgomery starting May 26. The breaking news comes just a few days after the recast role of her mother, Sierra, was announced. Peyton, who will be featured in the new NBC drama "Windfall" in June, will no doubt have her hands full. In fact, Peyton also landed a movie role in "Deep Winter", set to begin filming later this year.

"Lucy will come back a completely different person. She's been to college and has seen more than her share of real life", says Peyton. "She'll return to Oakdale to help search for her grandmother and run into none other than Dusty." Will the Lusty romance be re-hatched? And how are TPTB going to work around Peyton's busier-than-ever schedule? "They've all been great. The producers know what they're doing, so I'm fully trusting them."

Lucy's return, sadly, will only be short-term...though no official details of her time at TWOO have been worked out. As always, Oakdale Digest will keep you posted.

    BREAKING NEWS!!

It is truly devestating to lose such a daytime legend as Benjamin Hendrickson.

On Wednesday July 12, 2006, The World Of Oakdale will feature a touching tribute to the late actor who shined on the screen as "Hal Munson" for 21 years. The character of "Hal Musnon" will meet a tragic end Wednesday. Thought TPTB had originally intended to recast the role, they quickly realizied that only one person in this world was right to play the part of "Hal Munson"...and that was Benjamin.

Note: Information posted in this news release pertains only to the fan fiction wirtten by Dusty Alford (Actor87) known as "The World Of Oakdale". Nothing in this news release pertains to the current show of "As The World Turns".
  16. Actor87
Are you wondering what would have happened if TPTB had decided to keep the world turning? Well, according to a very reliable contact at TWOO, viewers will get their chance this Friday. According to the contact, TPTB are planning to release a short draft of all the stories they had planned for the 2007 year.

In other news, next week looks to be equally entertaining, as well. TPTB are working on a special week full of memorable episodes picked out by you, the viewers!

Viewers are being asked to peruse the blog for their favorite episode or scene. Once you've found that episode or scene, viewers are asked to send it in a P.M. to Actor87 by no later than March 11th, explaining why this is their favorite.

Only five winning episodes/scenes will be chosen. And throughout all of next week, TPTB will be posting one a day, commemorating a special tribue to the veteran SONBC blog The World Of Oakdale which came to an end last Friday after more than a year of being on the air.

In a last-minute casting move, Larry Bryggman has returned to the role he created. "He will definitely be involved in some heavy storylines" says The World Of Oakdale EP and HW Dusty Alford. "We have always loved the character of John Dixon and hated to see him go but we are ecstatic to have him back." Bryggman's first airdate is March 15.

*Oakdale Digest has learned that TWOO is currently casting the role of "Heath Clayborn", a character with past romantic ties to one Oakdaleian. New HW Dusty says, "He will definitely figure into the teen scene."

*Not only is the show casting for the role of "Heath", but a mystery woman is being cast. Mystery, not because of character traits, but because nothing is known about her character at this time...just that her role will not debut for a while. Oakdale Digest promises to let you know the minute something is known.

*Ernest Waddell is reprising his role as "Curtis" starting in late January. Like before, the role is recurring.

*The rumor is that Zach Roerig has been fired from the show, leaving several castmates stunned.

*Everyone has been probably wondering if Nick is a cop in this fan fiction. Not hardly! Readers will find out Nick's reason for being in Oakdale on Friday, January 13th.

*A camera man from TWOO has posted on his internet site that backstage buzz has Jessica Dunphy, Peyton List, and Agim Kaba returning to the show, but not until late spring or early summer. When asked about this rumor, TWOO Headwriter Dusty said, "What's this ******* camera man's name?!"

*Look for a contract character to leave sometime next month, with another one not far behind.
  20. Actor87
Oakdale Digest reported to you last week that Terri Garber would be reprising the role she originated, the infamous Iris Dumbrowski.

However, sources tell us that when Garber arrived for her first day of work, the writers weren't content with what they had given her to work with and subsequently sent her home.

Our phone calls to the TWOO studios weren't immediately returned, but we did, however, receive this official statement from them:

"It is with great displeasure that we report to you that Terri Garber will not be returning to The World Of Oakdale like previously reported. Though Ms. Garber is an exceptional actress in her own right, we were just not quite prepared for the return of 'Iris'. Ms. Garber underatands our plight and we are working with her to make an official decision regarding her return. Again, please bear with us and we thank you for your continued support."

As always, Oakdale Digest will keep you posted.
  21. Actor87
The World of Oakdale is looking to cast two roles in the coming weeks.

The first is a recast of a minor player. Due to some last minute changes, the name and face of Lucinda's hitman that she ordered on Craig are changing. "Rico Perez" is described as a dark haired, hispanic man in his mid thirties.

The second role that the show is looking to cast is Dana's mother, Millicent "Milly" Hamilton. Not much is known about the role, but sources say the woman will be quite the opposite of Grant. Though she has a soft, caring side, viewers will definitely be intrigued by her blunt, no-nonsense, comedic attitude.

And don't forget...tomorrow is the final airdate for Marty West [Jason] and Geneva [Erin].
  22. Actor87
It's A Brand New 'World' for Leachman

In her daytime debut, Cloris Leachman has been cast in the role of Nadine Weaverton. A part originally intended for Betty White, "Nadine" is a headstrong grandmother figure who doesn't take anything lying down. Leachman wowed the producer and head writer with her talents and was soon receiving her first script. Look for "Nadine" to mix it up a bit with Lisa and Tom as she tries to verify the truth regarding her granddaughter Roxie.

"Nadine" and Leachman debut April 14.
  23. Actor87
    Block's World Turns Again

Hunt Block makes his return to the daytime genre when he reprises the popular role of Craig Montgomery, starting December 19, 2008. Just in time for Christmas, Craig returns to the scene when Paul and Rosanna stumble upon him in Kansas City.

"I was approached a few months ago and they told me 'We killed off Craig back when we first started the show, but we're interested in resurrecting him and we think the time is right for you to come back' ", says Block. "I was reluctant, given my turbulent past relationship with the show, but Dusty [Alford, Headwriter & Executive Producer] wouldn't take 'no' for an answer."

"I'm thrilled to be back," gushes Block. His first scenes air on Friday, December 19, 2008. However, Craig isn't alone. "I actually have Cabot [chuckles]. I thought I had seen the last of that kid until I got the script and 'Oh look, I'm holding Cabot when they find me'. That just complicates things, doesn't it?"

Block was last seen earlier this year on the ABC daytime soap One Life To Live, where he portrayed jaded FBI agent Lee Ramsey.

    Smith Returns to His Roots

Another familiar face returning to Oakdale is that of Rex Smith. He'll be reprising the role of Darryl Crawford, the very same role that helped jump start his career. "Dusty [Alford, Headwriter & Executive Producer] called me one day while I was on tour and told me that they had aged Darryl's daughter Carolyn and were wondering if I'd be available to do a very brief cameo," explains Smith. "I had a little time before my tour started, so I flew out to Brooklyn and we taped my scenes in about 2 days".

Now a popular musician that sings to worldwide audiences, Smith was grateful to be able to return to the same studio that he previously called home. "It was a bit of a trip down memory lane. Working with Colleen [Zenk-Pinter] and Kathryn [Hays] again....it just brought back all sorts of wonderful memories". Darryl crawls back into town on Monday, December 22, when Barbara entices him to come make things right with his only living daughter. "She sees Carrie as a lost soul and she hopes that bringing her father back to town will help her find herself again, but like with all of Barbara's elaborate plans, it all goes to hell".

And for all the die-hard fans wondering where Darryl has been since he left Oakdale with baby Carolyn in tow nearly twenty years ago, that will be explained, too. "Darryl's been through alot. I wish they had given me material this powerful the last time I was with the show," says Smith. "It's so dark, yet so real."

    Stay Tuned...

-Word has it that a couple of actors are on their way out. More details to come soon.
