Heather Tom returns home

Genoa City fans are about to receive a blast from the past. Amelia Heinle has been released from the show as Victoria Newman, and her replacement will be none other than two-time Emmy Award winner Heather Tom!

“We wish Amelia much luck in her future projects,” a GC spokesperson said regarding the announcement.

Tom played the role of Victoria from 1991until 2003 when she left the show for the role of Kelly Cramer on One Life to Live. Tom currently holds the record for the most Emmy Award nominations for actresses under the age of thirty. Eight of those nominations were for her GC role.

“It’s great to be home,” Tom told us on the set. “Things have changed, you know. People have come and gone, but that old feeling is still here. I’m glad to be back!”

Tom finds herself coming back to the show in a meaty storyline. Victoria’s husband, Brad Carlton is romancing her former sister-in-law, Sharon Newman. With Victoria’s brother, Nicholas, now knowing the news, it is only a matter of time before the truth is revealed to all, including Victoria.

Tom’s first day back was April 23.
