  1. That was all Lucky, and perhaps what's lacking is an appreciation that time is different when you are in grief. There is an urgency. Regardless, I'm so impressed with the writing. I'm a professional grief counsellor (among other things) and white western society is HORRID at dealing with the reality of life. Luke's dialogue was so bang on. Someone writing for him knew exactly what to have him say.
  2. Well, like I've been telling people forever just give GH up to 3 days and they will respond to many of the questions/concerns/omissions left from one show….. Carly - knowing she's out of line but still desperate CHECK Liason - having a moment to discuss Jake CHECK Lucky and Liz - preparing to see Jake's body together CHECK Ethan - still no word on him Luke - someone calling him on not being there for Lucky CHECK Siobhan - folks didn't want her getting in the way of Liz CHECK Is Jake even a candidate CHECK Jax - his nobility in place CHECK Liz - is she going to get any real POV CHECK Jason - someone going to point out he left Jake CHECK Luke and Lucky moment CHECK Liz and Carly interaction CHECK Jax having a POV CHECK This story is unfolding nicely. Luke and Lucky today were absolutely stellar.
  3. I didn't mind Jenny in all honesty, but then I wasn't a fan of Tracy's at the time. However I do have to say anyone who parades around with moral superiority gets on my nerves regardless and by the end I wasn't sad to see her go. I think it's generally agrees that Marco was Tracy's best non-romantic pairing.
  4. hey Lain….. Tracy forgave Luke and the two are thick as thieves again. There was a moment after everyone thought Brenda had died that Edward was really low and a bit doddery. LuNacy was there with him and when Edward left the room Tracy asked Luke to stay because she needed him. A little while later they spoke about how he never meant anything to happen to her and he was sorry he ruined their honeymoon. She deserved better and he was going to see she got it. Luke said he would take her on the honeymoon of her dreams - he'd pay and she'd pick the location so he wouldn't be able to set up a con or ruin it. Then this tragedy happened just as they were about to leave. As for Jake and Josslyn, too many people are trying to see this as the same story but it's not. Some of the same characteristics are there, but in BJ's Heart the girls were the story and knew each other. It happened within the confines of a small family who dealt with this tragedy together. Jake's death and Josslyn's cancer is actually an umbrella story for the complete Spencermaine family, and just the catalyst to a wider story that involves Lucky and Luke's relationship. After Josslyn receives the kidneys (assuming she's a match, of course) the Josslyn/Carly part of this story is going to move off in another direction and the Spencers will be dealing with who killed Jake and why. It's looking like Luke did it without realizing and for the last week or two Luke has been dealing with severe head pain without acknowledging it. JaSam is also going to move off into their story. So no - it's not recycled. Essentially removing Jake ends the ongoing connection of Liason and allows JaSam to be family together with whatever children they have, and it means Liz's only "baby Daddy" will be Lucky once Aiden's paternity comes out. BH was just given a one year extension to probably wrap up these stories. TC has been let go by the end of his contract and Lucky is to marry Siobhan, so no actual LnL2 reunion is expected in any of this. Guza has been planning this for the past couple of years so it's been well thought out and basically cleans up the last mistakes of the Summer of Sleaze. There is no expectation of Liz harming herself or her other two sons. Mabby is going strong. I don't watch all of their story but apparently she's not working at the strip club any longer. Michael has confessed to being raped in prison and is in therapy, being supported by Abby all the way. They haven't slept together but they are openly dating and have kissed a few times.
  5. Cool. I've gotta say, I'm riding an emotional pendulum. LuNacy is having their hearts ripped apart by this family tragedy, meanwhile in Salem, Magic is finally in love and happy about it. iI's odd switching between the two message boards, lol.
  6. Actually, funny thing on Jason. The Diva was sitting here watching with me and her only significant comment was on Jason's tears and how she didn't know he could show emotions, lol.
  7. I refuse to buy into the negativity that always seems to surround GH. Today was well written, well acted and well thought out. The impact of Jake's death is going to be felt for months and years but a large swatch of the canvas. It is NOT a remake of BJ's Heart, nor is the story even about the life/death of either Josslyn or Jake. This is about the wider Spencer-Quartermaine family and how many ways they are connected to each other. And I can say as someone who has stood with families in hospitals (and been the family in hospitals), everyone's reaction was spot on. The parents were grief stricken, their closest partners stayed to be the support, and the rest of the family set about doing what needed to be done. THAT is how it happens. It's not like a group of teenage girls who go into hysterics when someone they might have known dies. Real life isn't like that. Real life is a brother picking up the kids so they will have some sense of normalcy. Real life is a sister who makes sure their parents know what has happened. Real life is a potential BIL who is a cop, doing the professional thing to give the family some much needed answers. Real life is family choosing to keep some information from other relatives that will only hurt them.
  8. I didn't count - at least five
  9. It was a beautiful scene. As the reality of Jake's death settled on them, Tracy asked both Lulu and Luke for a favour - that they don't tell Edward. Lulu shook her head and said it wasn't hers to tell, and Luke said they can't do that to the old man, it would kill him. It was truly a moment of grace, one of those that Edward will hopefully never know about. The Spencers - all of them - were in top form and there for each other. Nicholas took the boys back to his place, Lulu went to tell Luke and Tracy, Siobhan held Lucky as he balled, Dante got immediately to work trying to find who hit Jake. Throughout Luke was reminded about finding out Lucky had "died" and what that does to a person. Tracy was doing her best to distract Luke and keep him from wallowing. At the nurses station Lucky was supported by Lulu, Nicholas, Dante and Siobhan. It was as poetic as it was poignant. And the other part of the Spencers - Caroline Spencer's family - they had their own tragedy they had to deal with as poor little Josslyn was given the worst news she could receive. Carly was immediately pragmatic while Jax looked for every alternative except what they were faced with. Michael finally had to tell Carly about Jake, and Carly's response was that she had to be there for Jason. Carly was actually quite admirable and mature today - not something you usually see with her. And the asking for Jake's kidneys was done with as much grace as the situation would allow. I wasn't repulsed at all, though I have no doubt onliners will be ranting against her non-stop. All in all I have to say this was one of the best written, best acted, all around enthralling episodes GH has done in a dogs age. And ANYONE who says this story is all about Jason and Carly obviously isn't watching.
  10. Good for you… make it happen. And I love my banner more each time I look at it.
  11. They're not going to rebuild the Q's, no matter who's writing. They might see their way to bring back Dillon, but that's about it. The rest have had their day and there's only so many resurrections that can happen. Lovely thoughts SB, but they will have to remain in the land of fanfic. GH's ratings have been improving and they pulled in a 2.0 and 2.1 - higher than they've had in ages. You don't fire your coach when he's actually performing. I doubt the rumours of Guza are any more true this time around than they have been the last number of times. Ultimately this is a numbers game and GH is the only show with improvements over last year. Unfortunately I think that's also the case with the MB rumours. It's not like he really works anyway - he shows up and does the same schtick over and over again, gets a huge pay-cheque and lives in one of his umpteen homes. But someone still thinks he's the "lead" of the show and hasn't figured out that "lead" and "overexposed" aren't the same thing. On the other hand how they can move Sonny on from a marriage to Brenda is anyone's guess…. still hoping, just not believing
  12. I would be crying tears of joy is that insider on DD was accurate - unfortunately I think MB is going to suck more life out of GH before he's gone. However….. that would be the best ending for S&B…. here's crossing my fingers.
  13. Saw that coming. Aiden's paternity looks like a non-starter, Helena isn't returning it appears, BL is being sent on tour, and TC has openly been admitting he's hedging his bets. If I was TPTB I'd also look at the character and decide it's time to fish or cut bait. Now the sad part of this is it looks like there's no real reason for BL to return and I've been enjoying the rare moments we've had between BL and Tracy. But reality is such that on a show as over populated at this one, the slag needs to go and Nicholas has been slag for some time.
  14. SB, I agree with that Bobbie moment - that's part of the whole "not Barbara Jean" scene for me. That devastation was palpable. As for this story, TOTALLY agree that beats were missed - they always are. I can't wait until Brenda is gone and part of me wishes that Sonny is the one to kill Jake. That would be poetic to my mind. Absorbed Sonny responsible for yet another Q death. But I still think while BJ/Maxie were the story, Jake and Joss aren't the story this time. It's the aftermath that's really going to matter. The aftermath with BJ was Tony/Bobbie truly went their separate ways as did Felicia/Frisco. Georgie was conceived and Maxie lived. The greatness of that story was the death/life of those little girls. This time around the story isn't about the children but about the interplay between Jason/Carly/Liz/Lucky with Sam/Luke thrown in. It's more heart-wrenching because it involves children, but it's not about the children themselves. That's what has to be remembered here. That's why we had "what was Carly doing", "what was Jason doing", "what was Luke doing", etc. Comparing the two stories misses the point of the focus. Liz was so intend on sticking it to Lucky/Siobhan/Nicolas/Brook that she didn't hear the door open and her son leave? Accidents happen but if I lived on that street with little boys I would have better locks. Sam and Luke have been dealing with pain in their head for a week now if not longer, and Sam was expressly told not to push it but what's the first thing she does - she pushes it. Robin's absolute obsession with Lisa has been going on for months, and Johnny has been playing with Lisa for weeks. That's not new and that came into play. If viewers are looking for this to be a copy and expecting the kids to be the hook, then of course they are going to be disappointed and think Guza isn't making the proper connections and jump on the usual "Guza is a hack" train. But shift focus to the adults and the story has a whole different perspective.
  15. That's okay, SB - I have four children, one daughter and three sons - and I don't even think Hooked can keep them straight all the time and we talk about family, lol. My daughter is the one who has been looking at the show and saying "who's this Brenda and why should I care?" Have I mentioned how brilliant my kids are? Looking back I don't know that BJ's Heart would have the impact today. We knew for weeks that Jake's death was coming - years if you read all the spoilers and how Guza planned on killing Jake before now. He was a kid that was never meant to be, sadly enough. Even if I'm to look back the only two stand-out scenes were Felicia crumbling to the floor and saying "not Barbara Jean" and Tony listening for BJ's heart in Maxie. Outside of that I think it was epic because it was the first story done like that. But todays' viewers wouldn't understand the importance of the story from YT clips. They wouldn't understand how Bobbie and Tony got to that place of pain, nor great Felicia and Frisco has been before he left, or what BJ meant to Bobbie in a world before Carly existed. Outside of that is was just good soapy writing, and we still get that today. The dialogue might not always be as deep and the scenes might not be as long, but that's in answer to short attention spans not abilities of the creative minds involved. Just a total aside, I was just over on SOC (sorry, bored, haven't been there for ages but thought I'd see what's being said) and one poster has written something to the effect that Luke "freaked out" on Tracy when she suggested Jake was a Quartermaine. LOL…. some still don't get it.
  16. He was actually drawn in by Josslyn's cancer. But in all honesty SB, we would get a lot out of it because we watched BJ's Heart originally and both love Bobbie. It wouldn't mean anything to a 10 year old boy who only really knows Tracy and Luke on sight. Quite frankly I'm surprised he stuck around as long as he did.
  17. I'm watching this show one day at a time from Wednesday. Wednesday - Luke was a riot. "Headache courtesy of your cousin Caroline and the spineless Natasha." Lucky to Siobhan "that's Carly and Alexis". Siobhan nods in acknowledgement. Poor Lukey lost those precious diamonds. As of now Carly owes him one hell of a favour. Thursday - Robin needs a life and Lisa deserves better than the Psycho Scrubs. Luke picks NOW to have an opinion on Lucky's life….. seriously??? At least he did acknowledge liking Siobhan, that's a major plus. Cameron needs a serious spanking. Friday - Glad that Luke came through for Lucky. I thought Tracy knew based on her lack of surprise over a comment about Jake a year or more ago. Either way works. Not feeling either the Jake or Josslyn story. You know, I think the difference between this and the BJ/Maxie story is that there weren't any spoilers when the first tales was told, and in all honesty I don't care enough about any of these characters save Jax and Lucky. Back in the day I loved Bobbie and BJ was such a hard earned child for her, so it was all so surprising and tragic. There is enough difference between the two tales that this one will stand on it's own. As I type this Shiloh (10) is sitting on the sofa beside me just riveted to the TV. I think Guza has a winner with this one. Okay… Baby of Mine almost killed me. I'm hooked.
  18. I don't think it's a mark of either a good or bad parent, I think it's the sign of someone who doesn't know how else to deal with his emotions in this situation. Luke's MO is always to run when things get too much to handle - it tracks. It also tracks that Luke would be angry at whomever left Jake on the side of the road and wouldn't imagine in his wildest dreams that it could be him. Inside Luke is still the noble hero who would never hurt the innocent. Something is wrong with him too, otherwise this would never have happened.
  19. Proper thing. And Luke not telling Tracy tracks about the same as telling her, so I'm good either way. The thing is spoilers have been saying the Spencers are all there supporting Lucky, and Tracy is a Spencer so she belongs there.
  20. With so many battling insiders it's hard to know which truth is truth. But I wouldn't be completely surprised given the back-peddling done with the whole BH thing. Some's head had to roll for that PR nightmare. My only concern is whether we're going to loose LuNacy because a new HW might think they have to sleep with the LnLers to raise number again.
  21. No, she's not a Tracy rip-off - she doesn't have the emotional depth and baggage Tracy has. But having said that, I love Diane's sass and sexual energy, and that is very much in the vein of Tracy. Considering Tracy is the quintessentially misunderstood vixen, almost every female character who follows will ape her in some ways.
  22. I'm not saying I disagree with you, SB. I'm just pointing out what might very well be the mentality. Sometimes being seen but not heard is worse than not being seen at all. If I was writing this show, it would all be different…...
  23. I think that's true of some but not of most. And/or TPTB might be thinking about the can of worms they would open up by having those vets back. Regardless of their reasoning they will never be able to satisfy the viewership - either they don't bring them back or they do and the viewers complain from the get-go because they aren't anything more than decoration. In a situation like that where they can't win, I'm not surprised at TPTB for saying frack it and saving the money. Just finished Change of Habit - funny that a young Jewish woman would be that driven to praise in a church, lol. And what can I say - it's just as bad as every other Elvis movie. Wasn't there some reference to a little somethin' somethin' between JE and The King? There were a few times she looked at him and I could believe it. Too bad she didn't have a role with meat in it. But alas, she was in the credits so that's nothing to sneeze at.
  24. ^^If you've been watching for more than 15 years yeah. But if you're relatively new - which increasingly is true of the viewership - that's nothing but a whole lot of has-beens being paraded out to appease the old-time viewers. About to watch Change of Habit. Did we know all this? Some Kind of Wonderful (1987) Zertigo Diamond Caper (1982) In the Matter of Karen Ann Quinlan (1977) Panic in Echo Park (1977) Widow (1976) One is a Lonely Number (1972) Welcome Home, Johnny Bristol (1972) Change of Habit (1969) The Final War (1962)
  25. GF is history - they're not bringing her back. It's just to play with the LnL diehards. After the debacle of Claudia and Brenda, there is no point. Even Robin hasn't been an altogether successful return of a 90's character.
