    -Sami and Greta arrive at the Java Cafe and they both wonder why Nicole called them both there. Nicole arrives and they all sit down. Nicole explains to them Eric's behavior since he returned to Salem and had her meet him. He says he just wanted to visit and be with his family and show her off as the woman he loves but she doesn't buy it. She tells them both of Celeste's prediction of Eric's secret affecting all his loved ones and of Eric's tendency to shrug off his recent headaches. Nicole asks both women for their help since they are close to Eric. She hates asking them as she is not on good terms with either of them but they are her only hope as Eric won't tell her and she can't seem to find out so perhaps they can. Sami tells Nicole she does not support Eric's relationship with her but hearing all this does make her concerned about Eric and he is one of the few family members she cares about since everyone is so accepting of John is Roman so she will help Nicole. She makes it clear she is doing this for Eric. Greta is also against Nicole and Eric being together but says she will help too as she is concerned as well. Greta flashses back to finding Eric passed out at the police stations and feels very uneasy not saying something but remembers promising Eric she wouldn't. She hopes to somehow help Nicole find out whatever Eric is hiding and this way it will come out on its own. Nicole thanks both of them for helping.

    -Eric is at Salem Place when Roman approaches him and tells him that it is about time they talk. They have barely spoken since it was revealed that he is Roman. Eric says he has alot going on and doesn't really want to. Roman thinks Eric still doesn't want to accept it and that it is hard for him. Eric explains that it is tough and will take getting used to. It does erase alot of the reasons why Eric used to hate him as John was always his father so the stink of him breaking up his family is kind of going away. It was something he could never get past but now he can knowing John is his father. Eric also admits she thinking of faux Roman as his father. Roman understands and tells him to take his time. Everything will work itself out. Sami, Nicole, and Greta bump into Roman and Eric. Eric and Nicole kiss and embrace. Greta says hello to Roman but Sami says she has to go and tells Nicole, Greta, and Eric to keep in touch. She quickly takes Eric aside and asks what John and him were discussing. Eric says that he was doing most of the talking and that it was really nothing to concern herself with. Sami says she doesn't want to lose Eric as it seems everyone else in her family is accepting John as Roman. Sami insists he will never be her father and that anyone that accept him as Roman Brady doesn't exist to her. She asks Eric if he is ok, remembering what Nicole said. He says he is fine. Sami tells him to stay that way and kisses him and leaves. Nicole comes up and asks Eric again if he is fine. He says he is and that people need to stop asking as nothing is wrong or going on. Nicole asks about the headaches. Eric says he hasn't had one in awhile so they are probably gone. He now wants to go home and make love to the woman he loves. They kiss and leave as Nicole whispers to Greta when Eric isn't looking to keep in touch. Greta mentions how Roman is going to have a tough time with Sami. Roman says he won't give up until he reclaims his life and unifies his family. He needs to do that for himself, his family, and for Marlena as he promises her. Greta tells Roman to ask her if there is anything she can do. Roman asks why Greta was with Nicole and Sami. Greta says they just were discussing Eric and trying to work through some things as he is with Nicole now and they are all going to have to learn to co-exist if Nicole and Eric stay in Salem. Greta says goodbye and leaves. Roman then looks up to the sky and tells Marlena he is trying and won't rest until he fulfills his promise to her and his duty to his family.

    -Lucas and Austin are discussing Carrie and that fact that there is no word on her. They wonder if the search will be called off. Austin is sure Carrie and the baby are still out there-he can feel it . He says that they have to be ok because he couldn't deal with losing them. Lucas asks why he is so concerned for a baby that is clearly his. Carrie and him never slept together. Austin has a flashback to Carrie and him making love. Austin says he will always love Carrie and she will always own a spot in his heart. He feels that way about the baby as it is a part of her and is his niece or nephew. Lucas now understands and says he won't rest until they get answers and until they find her. He isn't giving up. Austin agrees and says he has no plans to either.

    -Alan and Carrie are at the cabin outside of Salem. Carrie recalls seeing the scars on Alan's arm and decides she needs to ask about them as it is nagging at her. Carrie mentions to Alan how she saw the scars earlier and asks how he got them. Alan simply says he hurt himself in jail and there is nothing more to it. Carrie asks what happened and if someone else did it and Alan snaps. He reminds Carrie of all he has done for her and that things have been going well. Her asking questions is not a good idea. He doesn't wish to discuss or relive the past as he hopes to have a better future. He tells her not to ask questions and there will be no problems. He then apologizes for snapping but says that his past was rough, even the stuff she doesn't know about, and he just doesn't want to think about it. He begs her not to ask about it again. Carrie understands and agrees not to. She secretly decides she needs to get out of the cabin immediately as she can't trust Alan. He will tell her nothing about his time in prison or anything else. All he says is he has changed and that is not enough to go on without proof. He has treated her well but it could be a game. She can't take a chance as she is pregnant-she needs to get out of there ASAP. She decides to wait for an opportunity and then leave the cabin, find a phone, and make a run for it. Once away from the cabin and home, maybe she can then find info about everything he has been up to since they all last heard from him. She lays down and pretended to sleep while keeping one eye slightly open, waiting for her chance to make her escape.

    -Belle is at the park waiting for Shawn. She is upset and crying when he arrives. Belle tells Shawn the news about Philip and that he is leaving tomarrow for a rehab center and San Francisco. Kate made the arrangements as he will get the best care for his condition there. Belle fills Shawn in on the doctor saying he may never wake up and, even when he does, he will need alot of rehab and counseling due to the major changes in his apperance from the plastic surgery. She also tells him about Kate reminding her of her promise to stand by Philip. Shawn agrees with Kate and tells Belle her place is with Philip until he gets through this. He assumes Belle will be leaving for San Francisco tomarrow. Belle is about to answer when Cassie comes running out of nowhere and is mumbling to herself in an angry manner. They ask what her problem is now and she fills them in on Rex and Mimi's plans to leave Salem with Connor and get married. Cassie says there is no way that will happen-she won't let it. Mimi and Rex then join them and Mimi says that Cassie doesn't have a choice. Belle and Shawn issue congratuations to Rex and Mimi. Belle and Shawn wish Mimi the best. Mimi hopes some day they can all by friends again but Belle and Shawn insist it will take awhile to get past what she did. Mimi promises she has learned from her mistakes as Cassie rolls her eyes. Shawn and Belle hope she really has and wish her the best. They filler Rex, Mimi, and Cassie in on Philip's situation. Rex and Mimi are devestated and want to be there when everyone says goodbye to Philip tomarrow. Their plane doesn't leave until noon so it shouldn't be an issue. They ask if Belle and Shawn have a problem with Mimi being there. Belle understands that part of the reason Mimi kept the secret about Claire's paternity was to protect Philip from being hurt, not that it makes a difference now as he is the father. She knows she cares for him so she should be there tomarrow. Shawn agrees. Mimi thanks them both and says Rex and her have alot to do so they will just see them in the morning. They leave as Cassie says they are going nowhere tomarrow. Belle advises Cassie that sometimes when you love someone you have to put their feelings and wants before your own. If she loves her brother, she will put her feelings for Mimi aside and just let him be happy and let whatever happens happen. Cassie walks off in silence. Shawn tells Belle that was good advice and enocourages her to follow it and put Philip first over her wants and needs. Belle says she will just follow her heart and it will always tell her what to do. Shawn offers to walk her back to the hospital and she accepts.

    -Maggie is still hysterical after the man and his woman friend discuss Mickey and how he died. She is alone in the park and the pain and guilt she is feeling are overwhelming. She needs to find some way to deal with this. She then is walking the streets and walks by a liquor store. She reminds herself of the two previous times she had been tempted to drink since Mickey's death and stopped herself. She then begins to think about how a drink could help her. She needs something to deal with the way she is feeling. She wonders what can be the hard in having a drink or two. She walks in the liquor store and picks up a bottle of vodka, saying that something strong will do the trick and she can only have a little once in awhile to help her through this. She hesistates at first but then purchases the bottle. The clerk asks if she is ok as he notices she is upset. Maggie tells the clerk she hopes to be and hopes maybe a little drink here and there will help. She walks out of the store and looks at the bottle wondering what she is doing. She considers going back and returning it but then hesistates and says she needs something to get her through this. She wonders what she should do as the screen fades to black and the credits roll.

    On the next "Salem Lives"...

    Maggie (looking at the bottle of vodka): If I do this, years of sobreity goes down the drain.
    Hope to Chelsea: We need to talk.
    Billie to Bo: Can you ever forgive me for what I did to you?
    Celeste to Abe: Danger has arrived in Salem yet again.

    PATRICK SAYS FAREWELL AS "PATCH" and Will SAY HELLO!!!!


    Goodbye Patrick!!!


    Hello Steve and Will!!!


    As previously reported, Brody Hutzler (Patrick) has been let go and will last appear on September 5. The exit is storyline dictated. "Patrick may be back at some point as he knows Dimera secrets but, for now, he has served his purpose," says EP Ned Yadroc.

    One actor exits as two others are set to enter, one being a returnee. Yes, folks, the cat is out of the bag. The mystery return is none other then Steve "Patch" Johnson. "Steve was the mystery man seen dragged out of the burning island compound," says Yadroc. "We figured the fans would figure out with Kayla back Steve couldn't be far behind and here he is. His return will be HUGE for the whole canvas and his reunion with Kayla will be very emotional," promises Yadroc. What about Stephanie Johnson, was was recently recasted with Shayna Rose? "We will be bringing her on at some point but, for right now, she will be living out of Salem," says Yadroc. "She will make visits, especially to see her father, but nothing long term is planned until we have a full purpose for her beyond her family."

    The other big news-Will Roberts is returning to Salem. Will was last seen played by Christopher Gerse in the Spring and will return in mid-late September in the form of Jeremy Sumpter. Sumpter is perhaps most famous for his role in the most recent film version of "Peter Pan" and for his work in the short-lived TV series "Clubhouse," which also starred Kirsten Storms (ex-Belle). "We just think he is perfect for Will, praises Yadroc. "He resembles Ali (Sweeney, Sami) and Bryan (Dattilo, Lucas), can act, and will fit in well with the story we want to tell." Look for Will to play a part in several stories this fall and to even get one of his own come mid to late Fall. "He will be a part of the Alan story and the big Sami and Lucas story coming up but, eventually, he will have his own story to carry which I think the fans might find controversial but very powerful." Again, Sumpter will first appear in the role in mid to late September.

    UPDATE: As previously reported, Farah Fath (Mimi) and Eric Winter (Rex) last aired on August 29. Alexis Thorpe (Cassie) will remain on recurring status. Be sure to check out the Salem Lives Insider tomarrow for more story and casting info!!!

    VICTOR AND BO: LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON?


    Victor (John Aniston) thinks he has a partner in his son, Bo (Peter Reckell).

    Bo's downward spiral takes him in a shocking direction this week on Salem Lives when he turns to his biological father, Victor. The week begins with Bo drowning his sorrows at the Cheatin Heart. "Bo is coming off bascially turning his back on his loved ones and calling it quits with Hope," previews HW Tim Lowery. "He is not in a good place but we start to see him wonder if he did the right thing and if he should make things right." Things change when Victor, who is looking for Bo, approaches him and they have a long talk. "Victor reiterates to Bo that he agrees with the actions Bo thinks is necessary to protect those he loves," says Lowery. "Victor tells Bo that the police and the current system have always had it wrong in that innocent people get punished while the guilty go free to hurt again and that is what happened with Chelsea and many of their loved ones." Victor leaves Bo with an open invitation to join his fight against Stefano and his enemies and to take action with guranteed results. "Bo is left wondering if Victor has it right and his ways are more effective. You may have to push loved ones away but if it protects them then you have to do it," notes Lowery. Bo does some soul searching and, by week's end, ends up on Victor's doorstep. "He asks Victor what he has to do and how far they need to go," previews Lowery. "Victor just tells him as far as they need to in order to protect the people they love." The question is...can Bo commit to this? "The fans will just have to wait and see," teases Lowery. "The war is just beginning and the dividing lines are just being drawn. The real drama is still yet to come," promises Lowery.

    SALEM LIVES STUNNER: SAMI COMES CLEAN!!!


    Sami (Alison Sweeney) learns a secret...and admits her own!!!

    Sami makes yet another surprising decision this week on Salem Lives when she admits her scheme to break up Carrie and Austin. The week begins with everyone reacting to Shane's reading of Carrie's letter. "For starters, no one is really buying what was in the letter," says HW Tim Lowery. "Roman, Austin, Lucas, and even Sami question it." Austin and Lucas then think about the island and all the bad things happening in Salem of late. "They start to think that it may make sense and that Carrie may be afraid to raise a child in Salem with the Dimera's around and so on," notes Lowery. During all this, Austin goes off on his own and just starts lashing out about missing Carrie and what could be his child. Austin is unaware that Sami hears everything from Austin admitting his love for Carrie to Austin's belief that Carrie's child is his. "Sami feels burned but also isn't surprised," says Lowery. "She has been wondering of late whether she should start anew romantically away from Lucas and Austin because they both love Carrie and now this happens. She had suspicions here and there but now it's a reality she must face." After hearing Austin, Sami realizes the real reason Carrie left is because she didn't know who the baby's father was and didn't want to destroy The Roberts/Reed family and all their lives. "It's typical Carrie as Sami realizes and Sami just starts thinking about why she has wasted all these years going after Austin and Lucas, both of whom have Carrie on a pedestal," previews Lowery. "She returns home to Will and he mentions how he always hoped one day their family would be stabile and he would have somewhat of a normal life. Sami realizes her problems with relationships are a main contributer to that." By week's end, Sami has collected her thoughts and decides yet again to do something that is very unlike her. "She chose to tell everyone about Carrie a few week's ago, which was a change, and now this," notes Lowery. "She calls everyone in and tells them about the lie Lexie and her collaborated on to break up Austin and Carrie. What happens after that is just pure drama and hell for Sami," laughs Lowery.

    Jeremy Sumpter (Will Roberts): As previously reported, Sumpter is taken over the role from Christopher Gerse. He first appears on September 20.

    Stephen Nichols (Steve "Patch" Johnson): As previously reported, the actor is returning. He will first appear from the back of the head on September 22 and his face will be revealed on September 29.

    Brandon Beemer (Jason) and J. F. Pryor (Barry): Both actors last aired on September 11.

    Jason Cook (Shawn Brady): Cook last appears on September 25 after a heartbreaking goodbye with Belle (Martha Madison). As previously reported, the role is not being recast at this time.

    Next Week: Sami undergoes a change that stuns everyone. Bo moves in with Victor. Hope realizes how far gone Bo is. Belle says goodbye to Shawn and makes a decision. Kayla's dreams come true. Chelsea tries to convince Abby to take a ride on the wild side. Stefano has plans for Cassie...and Max.

    -Carrie watches as Alan lies asleep, recovering from his injuries. She can't beleive she is here with him and how much he has changed. She also can't beleive she made Shane take that letter to her loved ones but she had to do it. She can't hit the people she loves, especially Austin and Lucas and even Sami. She sees Alan tossing and turning and wonders what he is dreaming about. Alan begins to cry out for the guard to open the cell. Carrie sees him shaking and violently tossing all over the place. Alan yells out for the guard not to leave him alone. Carrie grabs hold of him and assures him it's ok. She is there for him and is not going anywhere. Alan wakes up and pushes Carrie away, asking what she is doing. Carrie explains he was having a nightmare and she just tried to comfort him. Alan begs her not to do that again. He is a man and doesn't need her help in trying to comfort him. He can get through it. Carrie understands. Alan thanks her for everything. Carrie is about to ask about the nightmare but backs off, seeing how flustered Alan is. She wonders what the nightmare was about and if it has anything to do with his past experience in prison.

    -Sami is still stunned by learning of Carrie and Austin's affair and his belief the baby is his. Austin sees Sami and asks if something is wrong. Sami lies and says no. They return to Kate, Roman, Shane, and Lucas. Roman says he needs to go and that it is time for all of them to leave now that the search is over. Roman and Shane leave together. Lucas tells Kate and Austin that he isn't giving up and thinks they should try to find Carrie. Austin agrees but says they need to do something about the danger in Salem and then maybe Carrie will come back on her own. Lucas thinks it is a great idea but Kate worries about the danger involved. Sami overhears everything and she can see how much both Lucas and Austin love Carrie. She remembers how she was thinking recently about why she always goes after men who would rather be elsewhere and now it is clear both Lucas and Austin want Carrie and not her. Sami contemplates whether it may be time to start anew and to stop chasing after men and dreams that will probably never happen. It has been far too long and has tried every trick in the book and she has nothing after all these years. Austin asks if Sami is ready to go home. She says yes and they all head for home.

    -Shawn is on his way out of his loft. He has all his bags packed and is prepared to leave Salem for the marines. He closes his door and Belle is waiting for him outside. Belle once again begs Shawn to reconsider this and to stop pushing her away. Shawn says he has to and she needs to get used to him not being here. He tells Belle he is leaving and she can't stop it. Belle says she will stop it and that she is not letting him go. Shawn has to see his mother as she called him and he is going to say his goodbyes tonight so he must go. He tells Belle it would be best if she just let this go. He leaves as Belle vows not to let him go.

    -Alice, Doug, Julie, Laura, Maggie, Caroline, Frankie, Jack, Billie, Abby, and abe have all gathered at Hope's. Hope explains to her the fears she concerning Bo. Shane and Roman arrive late and Roman asks Hope what she thinks they should do. Hope says they need to do whatever it takes to save Bo from himself. Billie agrees and says she understands Bo's frustration with the system and how it led to Chelsea's second attack but Bo's is headed down a dangerous path and they need to pull him away from it. Laura beleives that Bo getting some counseling would be good but they may never get him to a session the way he is. Hope agrees and thinks Bo would fight it the whole way so counseling is useless. Jack thinks that Bo will come out of it fine but Frankie disagrees saying Bo is lost right now with everything that is going on in his life. Frankie then turns to Abby and asks where Max is. Abby says she thinks he won't be making it. Frankie asks why. Abby stays silent and then says she guesses he is busy. Caroline asks what they should do. Hope thinks they need to keep Victor away from him since all he is doing is encoruaging Bo in taking matters into his own hands. Maggie mentions to everyone that Victor could be right. Caroline is bothered by this and answers that Victor is not right and that is why Victor turned good for years before reverting back to his past ways. Caroline explains that Victor is hurting like Bo and that both of them are letting the anger and rage drive them to do things that will only make things worse. Hope is worried that Bo may have a side to him like Victor and that this may really get out of hand. Alice reminds Hope that she has been with Bo for years and that he has never been anything like Victor used to be. Julie agrees and adds that Victor is not what he was right now. He is not as ruthless as in the past. He is just frustrated and it seems he wants to protect those he loves, just like Bo. Shane and Abe both thinks they need to go out and find Bo. Shawn then arrives and apologizes for being late. Hope fills him in on what is happening. Shawn admits that he honestly doesn't care what his father does since he is leaving anyway. He then tells Hope that he mostly came over to say goodbye rather then help out with Bo. Hope says that Shawn is not leaving...not until he and his father can become at least civil with each other. Belle then walks in the open front door and says he isn't leaving anyhow if she has anything to say about it. Shawn tells Belle to stop but Belle says she needs everyone's attention as she is going to need all of them to help her convince Shawn to stay. Shawn tells Belle to back off and just give it up but Belle refuses and is confident that he is going nowhere.

    -Victor sits down with Bo at the Cheatin Heart. Bo asks him to get to the point and explain his offer. Victor explains that he beleives they are both on similar wavelengths right now based on what went down at the hospital earlier. Bo agrees. Victor knows that Bo knows of his involvement in the explosion that nearly killed Lexie. Victor explains he wants Stefano eliminated and that was the intention of the explosion only Lexie was in the building instead. Victor wants to wipe out his enemies and the enemies who pose a threat to his friends and family. The island was the last straw for him so he has targeted Ernesto and Stefano, among others. He tells Bo that the current justice system is flawed and that things hardly ever go as they should. They need to do something to protect their loved ones as they have been victimized long enough. Bo agrees and says Chelsea's rape was the last straw for him. Victor again apologizes for not telling him. Bo tells him to forget it and asks what he is proposing. Victor asks Bo to join him. Now is the perfect time as they are sharing similar philosophies and the people they love need them to protect them and end all this pain and suffering. The law has done nothing to stop this so it's time they did...together. He tells Bo he will have to make sacrificed like pushing away those he loves so he can protect them properly and do all that is necessary to make everything the way it should be. Only then will those they love be truly safe. Victor asks Bo to mull all that over and says he needs to go tend to business. He tells Bo to come to him when he has a response to his offer. Victor leaves as Bo asks for another drink. He recalls all the times the Dimera's have put his family through hell and the time that Ernesto nearly killed Hope. He also flashes back to seeing a bruised and battered Chelsea in the hospital. He tells the bartended he's done and tips him. He walks out of the bar and then asks himself if he can really do this and switch to an opposite side of the law to finally get results. He wonders if this is what has to be done to truly protect his loved ones from going through the hell they are right now. Bo looks up at the sky, almost as if he is searching for a sign to give him answers as to what to do as the screen fades to black and the credits roll.

    Sami: My son and I have suffered long enough. It's time for a change.
    Stefano to Cassie: Kayla Johnson is the key to getting revenge on Victor and all of my enemies.
    Belle to Shawn: I am not letting you go.

    Bo: I have lost everything already so I have nothing to lose. Perhaps I should put it all on the line and join Victor?

    -Victor asks Bo if he is sure he wants to join him. Bo says he has to. Things can't go on the way they are and justice needs to be served even if it means bending the law. Victor insists they are going to be doing more then bending the law. He asks Bo if he is willing to isolate himself from his family and friends and push them away like Victor has in an effort to protect them in case of retaliation. Bo says he will do what he must. Seeing what happened to Chelsea and the island debacle-he realizes now that things have gotten out of hand and need to be stopped. Victor agrees and asks Bo again if he is sure he wants to do this. Bo says he is and that there is no going back. They shake on it. Victor then tells Bo that he should move in with him. Bo agrees and says it brings back old memories. Victor laughs and urges him to move in right away. Bo leaves to get his stuff as Victor pours some brandy and informs Nico of what is going on. Nico mentions that Victor seems happy. Victor says he is-not only will he get his revenge and destroy his enemies but this might also bring his son and him together.

    -Maggie asks Hope what she can do for her. Hope knows that Maggie and Victor have become good friends and is hoping that she can talk Victor into discouraging Bo from taking the law into his own hands. She is so worried about him and can't think of anything else to do. Maggie doesn't know if that will work or if Victor will go for it but she says she will try. Hope thanks her and asks how she is doing. Maggie says she would rather not talk about it and needs to get going. Hope thanks her for her help and hopes she feels better. Maggie returns to Victor's with suitcase and notices how happy she is. She asks him what is going on. Victor informs her that Bo is moving in and Maggie congradulates Victor as Bo and him can bond and get closer. Victor agrees. Maggie wonders how Hope will react to this. She asks Victor if this means Bo and him are working together on going after Stefano and other threats to Salem. Victor says Bo needs a place to stay and that is all there really is to it. Maggie goes upstairs to pack as Victor vows to make sure Maggie doesn't interfere and mess things up. Meanwhile, Hope returns home to find Bo packing his things. She asks what is going on. Bo says he came to pick up the rest of his things as he has found a place to live. Hope thought he was just going to stay with Caroline. Bo says plans have changed. Hope asks where she can find him now. Bo doesn't answer and tells Hope he doesn't want to tell her at the moment and goes upstairs to finish packing. Hope is stunned and worried about what is going on.

    -Chelsea and Abby watch Cassie and Max dancing on the TV. Abby tries to suggest it's nothing but Chelsea tells Abby to look at them. She told Abby that Max is in to girls like that who will give him what he wants. Abby tells Chelsea to stop acting like Max wants a whore. Chelsea says that Max wants a girl who will put out for him and give him what he needs, just like every other guy. Chelsea admits she doesn't fit that bill as no one would want her, especially now that she is nothing but manipulative slut. Abby tells her to stop thinking like that but Chelsea says it's true. Jason and Barry were right about her. Abby thinks Chelsea is feeling the effects of all she has been through. Chelsea tells Abby that Max and her are through and there is no going back. She doesn't want him and he doesn't want her and she says she wants to be able to party and live without being tied down to one guy. She tells Abby to fight for Max and do whatever it takes, even if it means getting down and dirty. Abby says she isn't like that. Chelsea tells Abby that everyone is a little wild deep down and that it just needs to be tapped into, which Abby will when she feels desperate measures need to be taken. Abby says she isn't even sure if she wants Max. Chelsea says she can see that Abby does and warns Abby not to wait too long to do something or it will be too late. The nurse comes in to check Chelsea, who asks the nurse when she can be released to go party. Abby says goodbye and leaves, wondering if Chelsea is right about her having to do whatever it takes if she wants Max. She wonders if she has it in her to be wild and carefree and if she really wants Max enough to do it.

    -Cassie and Max continue to dance until the music stops. They lost the contest but admit they had fun. Cassie can see Max is not completely sober and says she won't hold it against him. Max asks why she is hanging around him. Cassie mentions she is close with the Brady's because she thought she was one at one time and she thought he seemed nice enough and wanted to help him. Max thanks her but says he would rather be alone now. Cassie agrees to leave him but gives him her number and asks him to give her a call. She kisses his cheek and leaves. Cassie then heads to the bushes and makes a phone call to Stefano telling him things went well with Max. She asks what she needs to do now. Stefano instructs her to give Max space but meet up with him randomly every now and then until he instructs her otherwise. He also tells her to use her closeness with the Brady's to keep him up to date on their happenings. Cassie agrees and hangs up. Stefano is pleased that things are going well and says he has big plans for Cassie and Max. He goes to Lexie's room and waits outside as he is awaiting the doctors leaving so he can enter her room to see her awake.

    -Sami admits how sorry she is. Austin, Lucas, and Kate rip her to shreads for her actions. Austin says that Sami manipulated Carrie into choosing Lucas via Lexie. Lucas thinks Carrie would've chosen him anyway but Austin thinks otherwise. They start arguing and Kate breaks it up. Kate mentions how it is the same old Sami who never changes. Austin and Lucas agree, as does Nicole. Eric, Will and Roman express how disappointed they are and Shane says it is stunning how Sami never learns from her mistakes. Sami says she has now and will prove it to him. She has finally realized you can't make someone love you or feel something for you as it does nothing but cause pain and ruins lives. She is still in the same situation as she was before scheming and plotting her whole life. She is still alone and single so it is clear what she has been wasting her whole life doing is wrong. Life is too short and she needs to make changes and grow up. She has finally realized she needs to take full responsibility for all her actions and can't try to deflect the blame. Nicole and Kate roll their eyes. Lucas says he will beleive it one he sees it. Everyone is also shocked that Lexie would do such a thing. Roman tells Shane they will need to tell Abe. Sami apologizes to Will and says she will make it up to him and prove how good of a mom she can be. She vows this time she will change and grow up for real. No one beleives her and Will cites the fact that she says that all the time. Sami says she is serious this time and will prove to all of them she is changing. She mentions how she told them all where Carrie was in the mountains. The "old" Sami would never have done that as keeping Carrie away would've been the better option in her mind. The fact that she confessed her secret rather then let someone expose it should mean something too. Austin says it does but it took a long time fomr Sami to own up. Sami understands and hopes they will all forgive her and she will do her best to prove she is really changing this time. Lucas asks her how she plans to show them this time she has changed and asks what is so different. Sami says she has the perfect action that will show them all right off the bat she isn't kidding and that this is the real deal. Sami tells Will to start packing up his stuff tonight. He asks why. Sami says that he is moving in with his father tomarrow and that she is giving Lucas sole custody of Will until she can really make them all proud and show them a different Sami. They won't file legal papers or anything, it will only be like an incentive to make sure she is serious this time. If she fails, then they will go to court and she will give him sole custody officially but she doesn't plan to fail as she is serious about changing this time. Everyone in the room looks on stunned as Sami asks them all if they beleive she is serious now.

    -Belle tells Shawn he can't go. She can't live without him. Shawn says she is showing why he is leaving in the first place. He reminds Belle of his reasons. He needs to get out of Salem and away from everything. He also needs to do this for himself and, in some way, as a honor to Philip. It is a way for him to make up for all his mistakes in the past. His relationship with her has changed her. The Belle he used to know would never break a promise and she did that to Philip, her husband and baby's father. She let him go off alone to recover while she stayed here fawning over him. Belle says that they love each other and more separation would only cause more pain. Shawn disagrees and says that them being together is causing more pain for their families and Philip's. He reminds Belle that they are cousins. Belle says it doesn't matter but Shawn says it does and they just don't feel right together anymore. Shawn admits it hasn't felt right since before the Salem Stalker ruse. The airport announces that Shawn's flight is about to board. Belle realizes this is really happening. She grabs on to Shawn and begs him one last time not to leave. She doesn't know what she will do. Shawn is finally hit with the realization that he is leaving and begins to have doubts as he holds Belle in his arms. Belle and Shawn them remember all they have been through as a montage is shown to the song they danced to at the Last Blast Dance, "I'll Be" by Edwin McCain . They both begin to cry and Belle remembers what she told Cassie when Mimi and Rex were leaving and that sometimes, when you love someone, you have to put them before yourself. Belle understands she has to do that now as Shawn has valid reasons for going and alot has changed. Belle begins to wonder if maybe it is for the best. Shawn realizes Belle is coming to accept the idea and that he can't worry. He is making the right decision for everyone and Belle and him. It will all work out the way it will.

    Belle: Well, you need to go. Your plan is almost done boarding.
    Shawn: Yeah...I guess. Look, Belle. I don't want you to think I stopped loving you. I know some of my reasons for leaving may sound that way but...
    Belle: I know you love me. I can see it in your eyes. A love like ours doesn't just go away. It never goes away. You can act like it's not there but it always is.
    Shawn: Your right.

    Shawn walks up to a crying Belle, kisses her, tears streaming down his face now.

    Shawn: I will also always love you. I will never stop.
    Belle: Shawn...I love...I love you too.
    Shawn: You take care of that family of yours and keep an eye on things for me, ok?
    Belle: I will and if your mom, dad...I will do anything for your family if they need my help. You know that.
    Shawn: Well, they are your family too.
    Belle: Yeah. It's still weird.
    Shawn: Well, thank you. I guess this is goodbye then.
    Belle: Yeah...goodbye. Damnit Shawn!!! How am I going to do this? How am I going to say goodbye? I don't want to say goodbye!!!
    Shawn: I have to go.
    Belle: No!!! Please!!! Just a few...

    Shawn slowly walks away as Belle grabs hold and won't let go.

    Shawn: It's the last call. I have to go. I love you Belle.
    Belle: Shawn...how am I supposed to go on without you?
    Shawn: Go to Philip. Go to Claire. They are your life. Goodbye Belle.
    Belle: Shawn...I love you!!! I love you!!
    Shawn: I love you.

    Shawn looks back, turns around, and boards the plane as a tearful Belle look on. The song "I'll Be" begins to play again in the background as Shawn takes his seat on the plane as Belle watches the takeoff process and then witnesses the plane life off the ground and into the sky. On the plane, tears streaming down his face, Shawn looks at a picture of Belle and him and whispers a final goodbye. Meanwhile, Belle stares out the window almost hoping Shawn will come back. She gets up and begins to walk but then collapses to the ground in tears. A airport employee asks if she is ok. She answers that she will have to be but, right now, it seems like she never will be. The screen then fades out on Belle crying and Shawn on the plane and then the credits roll.

    Belle: There is only one thing I can do now.
    Abe to Lexie: I want to give us another chance.
    Stefano: You will be happy with Abe over my dead body, Alexandra.
    Sami: Even if takes me my whole life, I will prove to you all that I can change and be a person you all can be proud of.
    Hope to Bo: Please don't this!!
    Bo to Hope: I have to do this, Hope. You can't stop me...nothing and no one will stop me.

    -Nicole is at a meeting with a business client. She calls LA to check in with Highstyle and is alerted by her secretary to the fact that investors aren't happy with her being away from the base of operations so long, especially since the company has actually lost money this quarter. The secretary tells Nicole something must be done or investors may pull out. Nicole checks her cell phone after her meeting ends and realizes she has a ton of messages from Eric and that she is very late for their dinner together. Nicole is feeling the pressure as she realizes her career is interfering with her relationship with Eric and vice versa.

    -Eric is at the Penthouse Grill waiting for Nicole when Greta shows up. She asks to sit down with Eric and claims she has been looking for him. She apologizes for the way they ended things when they last talked. Eric says it is forgotten already. Greta says she was looking for him for another reason and that is because she has news that may save his life. She explains that she found a specialist in Paris that may be able to help and she has him on call to fly into Salem. Eric refuses and says his case is hopeless. He has already seen enough doctors to know that and he more concerned with the fact that he feels distant from Nicole of late. She is already more then two hours late for their dinner together and she has been spending more time working lately then she has been spending with him. His time is running out and he wants to be with her. Greta says he should tell Nicole so that she is aware. Eric says he can't and she knows why. Greta tells him to at least see the specialist and give it a chance. He has nothing to lose and a miracle could happen. Eric refuses and asks Greta to stop pushing him to tell Nicole and to see doctors that won't help. Greta insists she is only trying to be a friend. Eric thanks her but says he has enough on his mind. He says he is sick of waiting for Nicole and is going home. Greta begs him to think about what she said. Eric reminds her to back off and says goodbye. Greta then places a call to the specialist and tells him to sit tight as she may still be needing his services yet. She is determined not to give up on Eric just yet.

    -Laura comes downstairs and sees Jack dressed ina tux. She tells him she never even heard him come in and asks where he went earlier. He fills her in on the big surprise and his going back to work at The Spectator. Laura is happy for him and gives most of the credit to Frankie since he was the one that called her to watch JJ while Jack was gone. Jack mentions it was Billie's idea. Laura doesn't respond. Jack begs her to lay off of Billie and give her a chance. The doorbell rings. Jack is trying to get his cuff links on and asks Laura to answer the door. She does and is upset to find Billie standing before her, dressed in a very sexy black dress. Billie says hello and asks if she can come in. Laura reluctantly lets her in. Jack greets her and says she looks great. Billie says he looks good too. Jack thanks her for the big surprise earlier. Billie says she is his friend and that is what friends are for. Jack sees Laura and realizes they should go before Laura gets on Billie's case. Jack thanks Laura for watching JJ and says he will check in at some point later. Laura lies and wishes them a good night. She then refuses to let them grow closer and decides she needs to end this before it starts. She calls Julie and asks if she can watch JJ as she has an errand to run. Meanwhile, Jack and Billie enjoy each other's company on the way to the Penthouse Grill. They laugh about JJ's little incident earlier with his oatmeal and the mess he made. Jack asks what is going on with Chelsea. Billie says she has left her tons of messages but nothing so far. She doesn't want to go out to look as it is early yet and, if she found her, Chelsea would only be more angry that Billie was not trusting her and checking up on her. Jack says they can both use this night to forget about their problems and just have fun and relax. Billie agrees and says she looks forward to a wonderful night.

    -A frustrated Steve punched the door and blames Kayla again for being the reason why didn't escape. Kayla apologizes and sees that Steve hurt his hand. She takes a look at it and tells him to stop thinking about them getting out. Someone will be looking for her at some point and they will find them. They just need to have hope. Steve says he has no hope as he has been in captivity for years in many places. No one found him until she did and now it's back to square one again. Kayla says it will be ok and urges him to take this time with her alone as an opportunity for them to work together to help him remember. She tries describing moments from their past and how he started off as a criminal named "Patch" and how they slowly found love together. She also describes their wedding when she regained her hearing and how she gave birth to Stephanie. Steve says it all sounds nice but he doesn't feel anything when she tells him all that. He says it isn't the time or place anyway as he is only focused on getting out of the cell. Kayla tells him to just focus and not think about getting out. He reminds Kayla of how many years he has been locked up compared to her half hour being in the cell with him and explains she has no clue how he feels. Kayla agrees but she knows he wants to remember his past and they can take this time together to help that along.. Steve says all he cares about right now is escaping and that he has no interest in worrying about recovering his memory right now. Kayla gets upset and then remembers her life with Steve in a montage of special moments they had set to the song "The Rose." As tears stream down Kayla's face, she realizes the man standing in front of her is not even close to the man she loved and there is a chance he may never be if she doesn't remember. Steve gets upset and starts banging on the door and yelling for someone to help in frustration as Kayla watches, wondering what she will have to do to get the man she loves back. The screen then fades to black and the credits roll.

    On the next Salem Lives...

    Laura: Ah...I think I know who I can use to put an end to this nonsense.
    Lucas to Victor: Austin and I wanted to meet with you because we want to join your cause.
    Kate: The hell you will!!!
    Sami to Will: Will, I am your mother!
    Will to Sami: You may be in name and in law but I want nothing to do with you.
    Nicole to Eric: Why are so upset about this?
    Eric to Nicole: I am upset because the clock is ticking and I don't have much time left.
    Nicole to Eric: What are you talking about?

    Peck is OUT, Muldoon is IN!!

    In a stunning move that is shades of the Robert Kelker-Kelly/Peter Reckell shakeup of 1995, Salem Lives has decided to release Austin Peck and recast the role of Austin Reed with Patrick Muldoon. Muldoon originated the role in 1992 and left to pursue other opportunites in 1995. Peck stepped in and played the role until being dismissed shockingly in 2002. He returned in September 2005 and has played the role since. Rumors had been circulating for weeks about a big recast shakeup and it appears to was it. "We felt we needed a change," says EP/HW Tim Lowery. "It was necessary for where we are going with the Austin character and we have always loved Patrick. I think many of us have wanted him back for years. This has nothing to do with Austin Peck or his contributions. He played the role during the character's glory years in the 90's and we appreciate everything he has done. Austin is in a darker story and we just feel Patrick suits the direction we are going on. Simple as that." Expect Peck to last air in late November and Muldoon to first air around the same time. "The switch will be very reminscient of another recast in the late 90's," says Lowery. "I am curious to see if the fans catch it. It is a nice nod to history."

    Salem Lives is looking for two actors in their early 20's for a powerful story involving Abby (Ashley Benson) and Chelsea (Rachel Melvin) in November and December. Both young men are described as wildly handsome and reckless. The roles are said to be short term and are set to begin in mid-November.

    WEST AND HOGESTYN CHECK INTO SALEM LIVES!!



    Popular movie/TV actor Shane West and Ben Hogestyn, son of popular Days star Drake Hogestyn (Roman), are joining Salem Lives as Salem University students Seth Raymond and Paul Drake. West, who is currently playing Dr. Ray Barnett on NBC's veteran drama "ER," will step into the short-term role beginning on November 13. Same goes for Hogestyn, who had recently left GH for B&B only to find himself languishing in backburnerdom there as well. Hogestyn will debut with West on November 13. "We are thrilled to have both actors," says EP/HW Tim Lowery. "We hope they bring in some more interest since Shane crosses primetime lines and Ben has been on two other shows. I know Drake is very happy to have Ben so this is great all around. Both characters will be involved in a powerful story we have going on with Abby (Ashley Benson) and Chelsea (Rachel Melvin) and I think both these actors fit the roles perfectly. We also had a little fun with the character's names by having Ben's character have his father's name be his last name and Shane's character has a last name that is the same as his "ER" character's first name. It's just great all around."

    In other news, Terri Garber's debut as Dr. Katherine Harcourt has been pushed back from Friday November 10 to Monday November 13. "We re-arranged some things so she got pushed back," reveals Lowery. "We want to give every story the time it deserves so this was for the best our plans. Fans will definitely see her and Cal (Josh Taylor) interact on Monday and beyond."

    Salem, Illinois

    -Frankie, Cassie, and Kate arrive at Chex Rouge. Everyone is stunned that Kate is there and Laura tells her to get out. Cassie admits to everyone she invited Kate and apologizes. She was hoping they could keep a low profile. Kate is still like a mother to her and her sons and grandson are guests so she figured she would bring her. Kate says she knew it would be a mistake but Bill says it's ok-she can stay. Alice agrees and says it's a holiday and the past should be left behind them today. They need each other right now with all that is going on and with all that might be coming their way, according to Celeste's premonitions. Kate thanks them for their hospitatlity and goes over with Cassie to Austin, Lucas, and Will. Caroline asks Frankie where Max is and he explains that he went to take care of something.

    -Max is still watching the happenings on the bridge and can't beleive that all this is going on in broad daylight. The drinking, smoking, drugs, heavy partying-he can;t understand why no one has reported this. He always heard about things like this going on at Salem Bridge but not like this. He then sees the partygoers dancing and sees Abby and Chelsea dancing with Seth and Paul in a very provocative way. Max says enough is enough and decides to take action. Meanwhile, Chelsea is having a good time and is clearly beginning to feel the effects of the alcohol she has consumed. Abby seems uncomfortable and hasn't drank at all. Seth asks her if she is ok. Abby nods. Seth asks why she isn't having any fun. He reminds her it's a party and she needs to let loose. Abby says she is fine for now. They continue to dance and he puts his hand under Abby's blouse. She jumps back in shock just as Max arrives and orders Abby and Chelsea to leave with him right now.

    -Sami informs Caroline that she still is unable to get a hold if Eric or Nicole. Julie says that Greta seems to MIA too. They hope everything is ok. Celeste then begins to moan and closes her eyes. She then warns that tragedy will not just occur in Sydney-Salem will see a great deal of it tonight as well. Everyone looks on stunned.

    -Nicole is walking the pier, frustrated with herself for not going to Eric's earlier this morning. She can't bring herself to do it because she is afraid of what she will find and afraid that her suspicions may be correct. She finally decides she needs to know once and for all and heads for his suite. Meanwhile, Greta is still by Eric's side as he is worsening. She feels helpless and wants to get him help but he won't let her. Eric does tell her there is something she can do for him. He knows that Nicole is going to come over to the suite at some point because she is suspicious so he needs her help with something. Greta asks what it is. Eric says he needs her to help him make sure Nicole leaves Salem for Highstyle in LA ASAP. Greta wonders what he wants her to do.


    Sydney, Australia

    -In Sydney, Maggie is begging an unconscious Victor to wake up. She hears Dimera men coming and tells Victor they need to get out of there now. Victor comes to and asks what she is doing there. She says there is no time to explain and she helps him up. They then make a run for it as Dimera henchmen realize they are nearby and are in hot pursuit. Victor and Maggie manage to hide in an airshaft until the men pass and then return to the tunnels. Maggie explains why she is in Sydney and Victor rolls his eyes and lectures her about putting her life in danger. He reminds her she promised not to interfere. Maggie says she came to help and won't stand in the way. She just wants to make sure Stefano and the Dimera's pay for what they have done to everyone, including her. They are then snuck up on from behind by Dimera guards and dragged off as Stefano watches with glee smoking a cigar.

    -Bo lets go of Hope and asks her why she is in Sydney. Hope explains everything to him and says she came to save him. Bo says that he shouldn't be surprised. Hope smiles and then gets serious telling Bo this has to end. They can take on the Dimera's together but this mob war needs to end. It's not him. She knows something is going on and tells Bo that it's time to put an end to this right now before he and others get killed. Bo says he is doing this for the people he loves. The pain and suffering has to end. Hope says they can end it the right way-together on the right side of the law. Bo is about to answer when they are ambushed by Dimera men. They try to fight them off but end up overpowered and dragged off. Stefano is watching this and smiling, pleased that his plans for revenge are unfolding.

    -Abe is stunned to see Lexie there. She tells him it's Alexandra now. That is her real name and the name that personifies her heritage and legacy as a Dimera. Abe asks how she can do this to him. She lashes out at him and says he betrayed her and that everyone she cared about betrayed her. Her friends, family-everyone. They all supported him and watched as her son was ripped away from her and they didn't even care. Abe reminds Lexie he wanted to negotiate with her but she forced the issue for full custody. She screwed things up. Lexie says she is glad their relationship is over. She can't even stand to look at him. Abe looks into Lexie's eyes and says he still sees the Lexie he fell in love with deep down. He can tell that somewhere inside she hates what she is doing to him and to her loved ones. She hates how she cut her mother out of her life and turned to the Dimera's again. He knows the "old" Lexie is still there. He can see it in her eyes and he hasn't seen that in awhile but, perhaps, it's because he hasn't looked on awhile. Lexie looks at him and turns as one single tear slides down her cheek.

    -Jack and Billie are making their way through the airshaft. They talk about what happened between them back at home and Jack explains he talked to Alice and she gave him some great advice. He doesn't want to lose Billie in his life and apologizes for how he treated her. Billie accepts and apologizes too for any wrongdoing on her part. She says they can work it out at home. They move along.

    -Roman and Shane explore the tunnels and hope Abe is ok. Roman says they aren't leaving the compound without him. Shane concurs. They then hear muffled voices coming from a room. They lean close to the door and hear the voices a little louder. They pick the lock and enter the room. Stefano laughs while watching on the monitor and says it's like leading lambs to their slaughter.

    -Steve and Kayla are silent in their cell. Kayla asks if this is how it's going to be until they get rescued. He says he has no idea what to say to her. She says that is fine but wants that she is not going to give up on him or their future. She will follow him to the ends of the earth and do whatever it takes. She is not letting him give up or run away. Steve tries to argue but Kayla urges him to save his breath. He can't and won't resist. She says that it will all work out and he just needs to trust her and give it a realistic chance once they get out of here and home to Salem. Steve laughs sarcastically and says like that is going to happen.

    -At that moment, Kayla hears voices and and races over to the cell door with Steve. They are shocked to see Roman and Shane. Roman makes eye contact with them and is shocked that they are really here and they found them. Shane and Roman bust the locks on the door. Roman embraces his sister and then Steve and Shane does the same. Shane tells Steve how good it is to see him. Kayla fills them both in on what happened with Steve and that he has amnesia. Roman says they can talk later. They need to find Abe and leave now. The four of them turn around and find themselves being held at gunpoint bt Dimera henchmen. Roman tries to overpower them but there are too many and they drag all four of them off.

    -Back in Salem, everyone at Chex Rouge reacts to Celeste's premonition. Celeste warns that the events of tonight in both Sydney and Salem will be tragic and that it will lead to even more pain and suffering. Alice says that they will just have to pray that things will work out. Julie comes out and says that dinner is ready but Melissa and Don fill her in on what happened while she was in the kitchen. She says the dinner can wait and that they need to pray for their loved ones. Frankie and Cassie worry about where Max is and Kate tells Austin she is worried about Chelsea.

    -Seth and Paul tell Max to back off. The girls are just having a little fun. Max looks at Abby and says that it doesn't look like it to him. He grabs Abby and says they are leaving. Abby smiles at seeing how concerned Max is about her. Max grabs Chelsea as well but she resists. Abby grabs hold of Chelsea and says she is coming with them. They don't belong here. Chelsea says she wants to party and no one is stopping her. Max lifts her above his shoulders and says she is coming with them whether she likes it or not. Abby apologizes to Seth and Paul and says it just isn't her thing to be at these kinds of things. Chelsea vows to be back soon. Abby walks off with Max, who is carrying Chelsea.

    -Paul asks Seth what they should do now. Seth says they have plenty of other people here to party with and says he thinks Chelsea will be back and, when she is, they will have to make sure she don't talk about what she saw tonight. Same goes for her friend, who he believes will follow her to protect her. Paul asks what they are going to do. Seth smiles and says "what they have to do."

    -Nicole arrives at Eric's suite and knocks but there is no answer. One of the maids walks by and recognizes her. Nicole asks to be let in. The maid knows she can trust her and unlocks the door. Nicole thanks her and slowly opens the door. Her face turns to shock as she sees Eric and Greta in each other's arms in bed with clothes on the floor. Nicole believes that her suspicions have been confirmed and quietly closes the door and breaks down in the hallway.

    -In Sydney, Abe tells Lexie she can stop this. Lexie remains silent and wipes the tears from her eyes. Stefano is witnessing this on the monitors and says that, in due time, Alexandra will forget about Abe and her "friends" and will live up to her name as soon all their enemies will be destroyed. Abe and Lexie are then stunned when Bo, Hope, Victor, Maggie, Roman, Shane, Steve, and Kayla are all dragged in by Dimera men. Everyone is shocked to see each other. Stefano watches on the monitors and then picks up a microphone to announce something to his captives.

    Stefano: Hello, my worthy foes. The day of reckoning has arrived. Now nothing will stop the revenge on the Dimera's. Prepare to know our full wrath, dear enemies!!!

    Stefano laughs uncontrollably as everyone in the room, including Lexie, wonders what will happen next.

    -Jack and Billie are moving along the airshaft. They see two Dimera men below them and hear them talking about "snuffing too more intruders out." Billie wonders what they mean. They continue to move along after the men are gone and Jack says he hears something. Billie sniffs and realizes gas is being released into the vents. They both begin to cough and frantically race to find a way out as the screen freezes on them and fades to black.

    Eric to Greta: I think we did it.
    Greta to Eric: I think we made a mistake.
    Nicole: It's time to leave Salem...for good!!
    Chelsea to Abby: I am going back to the bridge.

    Is it finally the end of Eric and Nicole?

    Eric fights for life this week on Salem Lives as his medical condition takes him and his loved ones on an emotional rollercoaster. The week begins with Eric's loved ones awaiting word on how his surgery went. "Dr. Rowen comes down and tells Nicole who relays the info to everyone else," previews EP/HW Tim Lowery. "It's very good news as Eric made it through and the tumor has been removed but there is some bad news, which is that there is the chance of complications such as blood clots, anerysms, infection, etc." Eric's loved ones then visit him and all seems to finally be going on the right track. "Eric is telling Nicole that it's going to be alright now," says Lowery. "For the first time in a long time, he has hope and he now has a positive outlook. He thinks he got his miracle." Things then take a bleak turn when Eric begins to go into a seizure and tests reveal the formation of blood clots. "The Brady's are stunned and Nicole is right by Eric's side as he grows weaker just as he was feeling strong again," adds Lowery. It gets worse when Eric develops an infection and the risk of a fatal anerysm begins to rise. "He just starts weakening and the doctors are trying everything," sighs Lowery. "They knew the surgery was his risk with lots of complications but he would've died anyway and now he is at death's door again." By week's end, Greta, Kayla, and Bill come across something that may help Eric but it's a long shot. "Eric's diagnosis is that he has around 24 hours to live and no longer," notes Lowery. "This clinic in a town near Chicago has a drug that may help someone in a complicated condition like Eric's but there is a bad snowstorm and the roads are impassible. Someone volunteers their services to go get the drug but that someone is going to bring about a whole load of tension and drama. At the same time, we have a weak and fading Eric making a stunning request of Nicole and one of Eric's loved ones performs a heroic act that could put that person's life in danger as well. A Christmas miracle is definitely needed." But...will they get it?

    Has the Victor/Stefano war claimed another victim?

    An explosion rocks a beloved Salemites' home this week on Salem Lives but who is the victim and the culprit? "At the risk of spoiling it, fans just need to watch Tuesday and they will see what happens," laughs EP/HW Tim Lowery. "One of our beloved characters has a death trap waiting for them but as to whether it is successful and who orchestrated it...fans just need to tune in and find out." Prior to the explosion, Alan is threatened by both Sami and Austin. Could the supposedly-changed rapist be targeting Sami or one of her loved ones? Could Will be his target? At the same time, an in-hiding Stefano is promising Lexie revenge for what has happened to their family. Is this a Stefano plot? Is he targeting one of the Brady's? There has alos been a mysterious cloaked figure running around of late. Is this his or her doing? Could Ernesto be involved? Is Victor so upset with Roman that he would target him to keep him out of his business? Is it Victor targeting Stefano? The possibilities are endless and fans just need to tune in for the explosive scenes on Tuesday to find out!!

    Patsy Pease (Kimberly Brady): As previously reported, Pease returns in late December with her children, Andrew and Jeannie. She will then remain on indefinitely despite her children leaving town shortly after the holidays. Look for more info on this in the casting release above the Insider.

    Tom Welling and Michelle Williams (Andrew and Jeannie Donovon): Both actors, who played the roles at this summer's funeral event, will return to the roles in late December when their mother returns to town for the holidays. Unlike their mom, Andrew and Jeannie will take off on Dec. 26 while their mother stays behind in Salem. Refer to the casting release above the Insider for more.

    Martha Madison (Belle Brady Kiriakis): Madison returns in mid-December when Belle returns from San Francisco with a recovered Philip. As for the casting of Philip, see the casting release for more on that.

    Ava and Olivia White (Claire Kiriakis): Baby Claire comes home with her parents Belle (Martha Madison) and Philip in mid-December.

    -At Salem University Hospital, it's a new day and it's the morning of Christmas Eve. Jack is by Abby's bedside. Doug and Julie are watching outside with Bill and Laura when Maggie arrives, asking if there is any change. Julie shakes her head solemnly saying she was hoping they would have good news before tonight's tree-trimming party. The news about Roman isn't making things easy either. Maggie says they just need to have faith things will get better.

    Jack is holding Abby's hand when he feels it move and turns to see his daughter's eyes slowly flutter open and she mutters "daddy." He calls for a doctor as Maggie and the others watch with joy.

    -Billie walks in Chelsea's room with Kate, who is mentioning to Billie how she feels there is something Belle and Philip are withholding from all of them and she is very suspicious. Billie tells her it's best if she just minds her own business. Billie looks at Chelsea and is shocked to see Chelsea awake. Both Billie and Kate embrace Chelsea, happy to have her back. Kate goes to get Bo and the others.

    -Frankie is with Max, who is worried sick about Abby having not awakened yet. Frankie tells Max that he should've been honest with Abby about how he feels. Life is too short to waste. He also tells Max not to deny it anymore and to just admit how he feels about Abby. A frustrated Max finally does tell Frankie he feels more then friendship for Abby, as Cassie listens nearby.

    -Sami is with Lucas, who asks if she is ok. She tells Lucas that she just found out John was her real father and she finally made peace with herself to accept him and now he may gone. Lucas tells her to have faith it will all be ok. Kate arrives with news that Chelsea is awake. Bo asks Caroline if she will be ok and she nods. Bo takes off with Hope. Sami tells Lucas and Austin to go to Chelsea and that she will be fine. Will will stay with her.

    Sami and Belle, who is with Philip, ask Shane and Abe if there is any word. They insist they just need to be patient but with the storm it is very hard to find out anything. Victor arrives and tells Caroline he heard. He comforts her. Caroline looks at him and says it was supposed to be him on that helicopter. Victor says he knows and asks if she blames him for this. Caroline says she knows that Roman forced himself on board the helicopter so it's not Victor's fault.

    Greta overhears Victor and Caroline's exhange and realizes her father could've died if it was him on that helicopter. Nicole comes out and Greta, Will, Sami, Belle, Philip, Caroline, and Victor ask how Eric is doing. Nicole says he is fading and has been since last night after word of Roman got out. He feels guilty and is losing the will to live. Dr. Rowen told her he doesn't have long. Nicole says she is going to call Fr. Jansen for last rites. Everyone is devastated and they are beginning to lose all hope for Eric and, possibly, Roman.

    -Sami vows not to lose her father and her brother. Her mom is watching up above and wouldn't want her to give up. She wasted too much of her life being bitter, immature, and angry. She owes everyone she loves and needs to redeem herself somehow.

    -Kate, Lucas, Austin, Bo, and Hope are with Billie in Chelsea's room. Billie whispers to them all not to tell Chelsea about her condition and that she may be able to use her arm fully again. They all agree. Hope reminds Bo that his daughter will need him now and so will his loved ones, which is why he should stop working with Victor. Kate tells Lucas and Austin the same thing. All three men grow frustrated and tell Kate and Hope to back off. Hope hears about Abby and goes to check on her.

    Chelsea is told about how she ended up in the hospital and what happened. She apologizes and vows to change. Billie says she will hold her to that. Chelsea asks why she can't feel her arm and Billie says it's just numb from pain meds.

    -Doug, Julie, Bill, Maggie, and Jack rejoice in Abby waking up. Jack reminds them all not to tell Abby about her possibly being paralyzed for life. Laura watches from outside, not wanting to cause trouble. Hope arrives and asks Laura to come in. Laura says she shouldn't.

    Meanwhile, Jack fills Abby in on what happened tp her and she apologizes to her father for her actions and vows never to act out like that again. Jack says it's forgotten and warns her not to do that again. He assures her that Billie and him will make sure Chelsea and her are done with that kind of lifestyle. Abby says she also needs to apologize about the way she treated Billie and came between his and Billie's friendship. She knows they are just friends and she should've never treated a family friend like that even if him and her were more then friends. Jack says it's ok.

    Hope comes in and extends her best wishes to Abby. She asks Abby if she would like to see her grandmother and ushers Laura to come in. Jack turns and sees Laura enter and ask Jack if it would be ok to see her granddaughter. Jack is silent and she loses it and begs Jack to give her another chance and to forgive her as Abby wonders what is going on. Abby asks her father to let Laura stay.

    -Frankie tells Max he is going to check on mom but orders him to tell Abby how he feels when and if she wakes up. Max sits down and decides Frankie is right. He needs to tell Abby how he feels. He just hopes he gets the chance. Cassie listens nearby and goes into panic. She vows to make sure Max and Abby don't get together.

    -Kate is on her way to get some coffee when she sees Belle and Philip arguing. She stands aside and sees Philip grab Belle by the arm and warn her to keep her mouth shut about their agreement and what happened in San Francisco. Nobody must know anything and she needs to do a better job of covering it up. Belle tells him to let go and that he is hurting her. They walk off as Kate is stunned by this and wonders what the hell is going on. She vows to find out as the screen fades out.

    On the Next Salem Lives...

    Bo: Why do I keep having these memories? What do they mean?
    Eric to Nicole: So...you finally lost hope, huh?
    Abby to Jack and Billie: Forgive her. Please forgive my grandmother.
    Greta to Chelsea: You need to tell Hope the truth.
    Sami to Shane: I am doing this and you won't stop me.

    -Steve, Kayla, Stephanie, Frankie, Max, Austin, Lucas, Will, Sami, Roman, Belle, Philip, Victor, Kate, Billie, Maggie, Abe, Hope, Jack, Billie, Kimberly, Shane, Andrew, Jeannie, and Caroline all wait for word on Eric. They are happy Eric is stabile but he is running out of time. Shane is happy to see his children and Kimberly. Lucas, Austin, Will, Belle, and Caroline admit how proud they are of Sami. Roman says his daughter is a hero no matter what happens to Eric. Nicole is by herself in a corner. Greta puts her hand on her shoulder, assuring Nicole it will be ok. They will get their miracles.

    Bo arrives and Hope and Caroline ask where he has been. He insists they will find out later and they update him on Eric. Dr. Rowen emerges. Roman asks if the drug worked. Dr. Rowen smiles and says it did. Eric's condition has improved and he is awake. He's going to make it. Everyone rejoices. Roman praises Sami as the hero and everyone agrees. Sami is proud and says she feels like she finally is what they all want her to be. Roman says she is and more. Lucas says he is very proud of her too and smiles. Will hugs her, saying he is proud of her and how much he loves her.

    Nicole, Greta, Caroline, Sami, Belle, and Roman race in to see Eric. He is happy to see them and thanks them all for helping to save him. He looks at Nicole and says it looks like she is stuck with him. She laughs and they embrace.

    -Max goes back to Abby and says he is there to spend Christmas Eve with her. He tells her about Eric. She is happy. He sits by her and says Jack has set up the web cam so she can see the party at the Horton's. He says he will be right by her side all night. She smiles and thanks him.

    -Kate shows up at Chelsea's room and fills her in about Eric. She says she has come to spend the evening with her so she won't be alone on Christmas Eve. Chelsea thanks her but asks why Kate isn't with her children. Kate says she will be later but now she is with her granddaughter. Chelsea smiles and feels guilty, knowing full well Kate is nothing to her.

    -Cal and Katherine are still in isolation in the mountains. He says he hates missing Christmas with those he loves. Katherine says they will get through it together. She pulls out a gift. He feels bad since he didn't get her anything nor did he think she should. She tells him to open it. He does and it's a bracelet made of string and vine. Katherine says her father taught her to make it and he never liked it when he felt people didn't like him or were mad and so on. It's a peace bracelet and she wants them to start over as they started badly.

    Cal smiles and thanks her. He adds that his gift to her will be being a cooperative patient. She laughs and then outs on Christmas music as they sit by the fire.

    -Maggie and Victor show up at St. Luke's for mass. He thanks her for inviting him. Alice, Doug, Julie, Laura, Bill, Don, Melissa, and Sarah are there already. Julie embraces Victor and says she is happy Victor is there. Maggie tells Victor she doesn't know where she would be without him. He gently takes her hand just as Caroline walks in, clearly upset by the sight.

    -Jack and Billie arrive at church. They both feel guilty that their children are in the hospital. They realize they are under a mistletoe and Jack says they have to honor tradition. Jack leans in and kisses her. Billie tells him that was nice. Jack agrees. Laura sees the kiss and when Jack and Billie look at her, she smiles and whispers, "I'm ok."

    -Frankie, Kimberly, Shane, Andrew, and Jeannie arrive at the church. Shane says he is happy Kimberly is with them. Kayla, Steve, and Stephanie walk in and Kimberly says it is so nice to see them all together. Kayla says it's really like their first real Christmas together. Stephanie says they will make sure it's the best. Steve agrees.

    -A bitter Cassie arrives, still upset about Max and Abby. Caroline waves to her to sit near her. Cassie says "what the hell" and goes over.

    -Carrie is outside St. Luke's, hiding in the shadows with Alan. He asks if this is a good idea. She says she can't be with them but she can be near those she cares about, Sami, Roman, Austin, Will, and Lucas arrive. Carrie and Alan hides and she learns all that happened with Eric and sees how close Sami and Roman are now. She is happy about it and smiles.

    Austin, Lucas, Will, and Austin again say how proud they are of her. Sami thanks them but says she is blushing and tells them to stop. As they are about to go in, Sami sees a shocking sight and can't beleive her eyes. The others go in ahead of her. Lucas wonders where Sami is and goes back outside but she is gone.

    -Hope arrives inside the church with Bo. She asks where he was earlier. He says he had an errand. Hope reminds Bo that Eric was dying and Roman, Sami, and Shane were MIA. He wouldn't just run an errand. Bo then gets a call and hangs up, telling Hope she will know all right...now. The doors of the church open and a women comes in with a little boy. Hope's face turns to shock and jubilation...IT'S JT!!!

    Hope scoops the boy up in her arms and wonders how this is happening. Bo explains that the Reiber's died in a car accident and what little living family they had couldn't handle caring for him. Bo was contacted and he met with the social worker and now JT is their son again. Hope says it's a gift...from Zach. The three of them embrace. Doug and Julie are happy to see JT, as is Alice and Caroline. Hope then takes JT to show around to friends and family as Bo finalizes things with the social worker.

    Billie comes over to Hope and says she is happy she has JT back. Hope thanks her. Billie then calls Chelsea and tells her the news. She smiles. Kate asks what is going on. Chelsea says it's nothing.

    -Greta arrives and sees Victor. She walks up to him and thanks him for helping her save Eric. She misjudged him and it is clear he is not the monster some think. Victor smiles and says Merry Christmas. Greta wishes him the same and smiles. She looks for a place to sit. Frankie offers her one and she thanks him.

    -Abe and Celeste arrive with Theo and sit near Shane. They vow to give Theo a good Christmas even though Lexie is gone.

    -Lucas is still outside looking for Sami. She then comes out from the bushes and grabs him, saying she needs his help with a gift for her dad just as Fr. Jansen begins the mass.

    As "O Holy Night" by Celine Dion begins to play "O Holy Night",

    Eric and Nicole are in his room. They are kissing. Eric vows that this is a new beginning and a second chance he doesn't plan to waste. Nicole says she will make sure they don't. They hold each other, relieved the crisis has passed.

    -The scene the moves to Max laying with Abby on her bed and holding her in his arms. He sees that she is sleep and kisses her forehead.

    -The scene shifts to Kate watching a sleeping Chelsea and saying she is so happy that she is ok and that she has her as a granddaughter. Kate doesn't see that Chelsea is awake and that tears are falling down her cheeks.

    -The scene then shifts to St. Luke's as we still hear Celine Dion's "O Holy Night" playing but the choir is now beginning to drown the song out as they are singing the same song. The mass is nearly over. Bo and Hope are sitting with JT, happy to have him back in their lives. They both thank God and Zach for their gift. Hope privately gives thanks for Chelsea, her newfound daughter, and prays to find a solution to work everything out.

    Austin and will wonder where Sami and Lucas are, as does Roman. There is then a loud slam and everyone in the church turns. Sami and Lucas enter:

    Sami: Attention everyone!!! I hope you can here me over the choir.

    Fr. Jansen instructs the choir to stop but the song, "O Holy Night," keeps playing.

    Sami: I am sorry to interrupt but something came to my attention outside and I am glad it did as it's the perfect gift for my father and I know many of you will love this too. I was shocked and I know you all will be as well.

    Roman stands.

    Roman: Sami, what is going on?
    Sami: Ok!! Ok!! Without further adeiu... (Lucas and Sami open the doors)

    Roman and the whole church is in shock as the song gets louder

    Roman (as tears well up in his eyes): Oh my God!!!
    Belle: This can't be...

    Roman slowly walks towards the back and the camera pans around to reveal a smiling...MARLENA. She is in tears and she runs into Roman's arms.

    Roman: Doc!!!...Oh my...how...what is going on?
    Marlena: I am back my love. I've come back to you.

    Roman and Marlena embrace as the whole church watches. Sami is in tears, so happy seeing her parents together. Lucas looks at and lovingly takes her hand. She looks at him and he looks at her and they both smile.

    The screen then fades out on an overhead shot of everyone in the church watching Roman and Marlena's reunion as Celine Dion's "O Holy Night" continues to play.

    On the Next Salem Lives...

    Roman to Marlena: It's so great having you back in my life.
    Sami to Lucas: What are you saying? Do you want to get back together?
    Carrie to Alan: Maybe it's time I reveal myself...
    Alice (looking to the heavens): Merry Christmas Tom....

    -Everyone at St. Luke's continues to react to Marlena's return. Roman asks how Marlena survived falling into the volcano on the island. He never saw her on the ledge below. Marlena says she can't remember what happened. Roman says it's fine. He is just happy she is back. Marlena shares a tearful reunion with Belle, ClaireBo, Hope, Caroline, Laura, Maggie, Julie, and Doug. Everyone is happy to see her.

    Marlena explains that Sami saw her outside and she wanted it to be a surprise. Roman hugs Sami and fills Marlena in on all that has been going on. Marlena says she already knows. She has been in Salem since this
    morning and followed all the happenings. She didn't want to make her presence known yet as she didn't want to make a spectacle of herself and they were all dealing with so much. Her plan was to reveal herself to Roman first and then the others slowly but things changed.

    She is so happy Eric will live and to see Sami and Roman getting along. Roman asks how she got to Salem. Marlena says she has no clue. She woke up on a bench in the park. Sami says it's great that they have her back and hugs her.

    -Bo, Hope, JT, Doug, Julie, Laura, Bill, Melissa, Sarah, Don, and Alice go back to the Horton house. Everyone is stunned when Jack shows up with Billie and Maggie with Victor. Both Jack and Maggie explain that they are friends and ask if it is ok for Billie and Victor to stay. Alice says it's Christmas and that, of course, they can stay.

    Frankie arrives with Greta as Jack invited them. Greta embraces Alice and thanks her for remembering her once again. Alice says she has always been fond of her and Frankie. Alice also says the more the merrier. Everyone wonders why Lucas is running so late.

    -Belle, Philip, Claire, Caroline. Lucas, Sami, Austin, and Will go with Roman and Marlena to see Eric. Nicole is by his side. Eric is stunned to see his mother and they share a tearful reunion . Eric says that things are really starting to turn around for him. Marlena embraces Nicole and welcomes her to the family. Lucas tells Sami he has to get to the Horton's with Will. He invites Sami to come along. Roman tells her to go ahead and that he will see her later.

    -Austin and Philip go to check on Kate, who is in Chelsea's room. They wish her a Merry Christmas. Kate says she thought it just may be Chelsea and her on Christmas Eve together. Philip and Austin both say that they have their problems with Kate but she is still their mother. Kate knows Philip may never forgive her for her involvement in Calire'a paternity situation. Philip reminds Kate that she turned out to be his anyway so it's fine. Kate invites them back to her suite for Christmas Eve dinner and they decide to go since Lucas and Billie are at the Horton's.

    -Sami, Lucas, and Will arrive at the Horton's and the tree trimming begins. Bill and Laura place theirs on the tree. Meanwhile, Abby is watching the happenings at the Horton house via web cam with Max. Jack waves to her while holding JJ.

    Jack and JJ place Abby's ornament on the tree as Abby smiles. Jack then places Jennifer's on the tree and everyone begins to tear up. Jack looks at JJ and promises it will get better and that he will be the best father. Abby begins to cry as Max comforts her, saying her mother will always be watching over her and her family. Abby says she knows that but she misses her.

    Back at the Horton house, Billie comforts Jack and assures him it will get better. He smiles and says he knows and they embrace as Laura watches. Bill reminds her of her promise. Laura says she's fine now.

    Melissa and Sarah place their ornaments on and so does Maggie. She then takes Mickey's. Don and Victor both assure her she can do it. Julie asks if Maggie is ok. She turns and says she's fine. Mickey is watching and she wants to make him proud. She puts it on the tree and hugs Melissa and Sarah.

    Bo and Hope place theirs on the tree, along with JT's. They are so happy to have him back and kiss him. They place Shawn's on too and hope he is ok in the Marines. They then place Zach's on and know he is watching over them, He is no doubt a little angel. Bo comforts Hope.

    Hope says that next year they will have to get an ornament for Chelsea. Bo asks why, she is his and Billie's daughter. Hope says it was a slip and she doesn't know what she was thinking. Chelsea is her stepdaughter so she figured they could get her on. Bo embraces her and says that may be a good idea to mend fences a bit. Hope is releived she didn't let the secret out.

    Doug and Julie place their ornaments on and kiss. Lucas and Will place theirs on and Lucas tells Will that one day his wife and kids will participate in this same tradition. Will nods and seems a bit upset. Julie makes the comment to Sami that she still feels that one day she will have a ornament on the tree too. Sami smiles and says she used to think so too. Lucas comes over and says she still could. Julie smiles and Sami asks Lucas what he is talking about. He turns away, leaving her hanging.

    The rest of the ornaments are placed on and then Alice places her's and Tom's on and wishes him a Merry Christmas, She thanks him for giving them the best Christmas possible and hopes him and all their departed loved ones will continue to watch over them until they meet again.

    -At the hospital, Bo and Hope arrive with JT with gifts for the sick children. Jack, Billie, Doug, Julie, Melissa, Sarah, Don, Victor, Maggie, Frankie, Greta, Lucas, Sami, Will, Laura, and Bill all arrive too. Caroline, Kimberly, Andrew, Jeannie, and Shane join them.

    Steve, Kayla, and Stephanie arrive as well. Kayla tells Steve she has an idea that may help his memory and make this Christmas a little brighter. Roman, Marlena, Belle, and Claire arrive with Nicole. She has Eric in a wheelchair and he is happy to see everyone. Kimberly tells Eric she will race him. They laugh. Max wheels Abby in and see is happy to see her father and family. Hope gets an idea and tells Bo she will be back.

    -Austin and Philip are on their way out with Kate but join everyone at the hospital. Carrie and Alan show up as well. Alan warns Carrie she doesn't care. It's time she makes her presence known. She reaches out to tap Austin on the shoulder but then sees Sami and Lucas and panics. She tells Alan they need to go before someone sees her. She can't think about herself. The paternity of her baby will tear Lucas and Austin apart and cause pain. She needs to leave now. They take off, as Austin turns around after feeling someone watching him.

    -Hope goes to Chelsea's room and wakes her. She tells her to come on, pointing to a wheelchair. Chelsea is confused. Hope says she needs to be with her family. Chelsea smiles. Hope then gives her a gift. Hope apologizes that it isn't wrapped but she ran home quick to get it and hoped it was enough. Chelsea opens it to reveal a picture of her, Hope, Bo, Zack, Shawn, and Mimi from last Christmas. Chelsea smiles and as tears well up in her eyes, she says it's perfect. Hope wheels her out to everyone else.

    -Bo is stunned when Hope wheels Chelsea out, as is Billie. Hope says she is family and she belongs with them. Abe and Celeste arrive with Theo. Roman wishes them Merry Christmas. Abe says Theo misses Lexie but Celeste and him are trying their best. Roman says that is all Abe can do. Cassie arrives and is upset seeing Max and Abby. Caroline is happy she came. Cassie fakes a smile and nods.

    Steve then comes out dressed like Santa Claus. Stephanie and Kayla laugh and Kayla says it's like old times. He tells all the kids that a reindeer poked him in the eye. Kayla says she never told him that. He remembered something and Kayla whispers to him that he said that once before while dressed like "Patchy Claus." Steve smiles and gives out presents.

    -Victor tells Maggie he has a gift for her. She opens it and it's a gold bracelet engraved with the words," Loyalty. Support. Comfort. Friend." Maggie tears up and gives Victor his gift. It's a pair of gold cuff links. He thanks her and says he will cherish them. Jack says to Billie he forgot to get her a gift. Billie says that's good because she forgot to with everything going on. Jack smiles and says they will just have to be each other's gifts. They laugh.

    -Maggie tells Hope that Alice wanted her to read the Christmas Story after all that she has been through. Hope says Maggie has been through alot too. They all have. Maggie tells Hope to go ahead and do it. Hope takes JT with her and reads the story as everyone looks on.

    -Sami reminds Lucas that he never explained what he meant at the Horton house. Lucas says that things can change and that you never know what can happen. He says that she is an example. She has changed so much from forgiving her father to helping Carrie and trying to prove herself. She has truly redeemed herself in his eyes and the woman he sees now is the woman he always saw deep down inside her. The woman he fell in love with. Sami asks Lucas what he is saying. He says they will talk later at her place.

    -Doug begins to sing "O Come All Ye Faithful" and everyone at the hospital follows by breaking into song. The scene then shifts to the Horton house as Alice places the baby Jesus in the manger and then looking at Tom's picture:

    Alice: To those we love, near and far, may they all be blessed on this day and all the days of their lives.

    The screen then fades out on Alice looking to the heaven's above, smiling.

    On the Next Salem Lives...

    Hope: Zach?!
    Roman to Marlena: I can't beleive you know as much as you do. Aare you sure you haven't been watching us the whole time you were gone?
    Steve to Kayla: What if I never remember?
    Kayla to Steve: Then I will still love you just as much, if not more.
    Bo to Hope: After all we have been through, I love you now just as much as I loved you then.
    Sami to Lucas: I want to know where this is going. Do you want to give us another chance or not?

    Act 1, Scene 1: Christmas Eve. Kayla's suite. Steve enters.


    Steve: Well, Stephanie is asleep.
    Kayla: She had a long day...and a great one. I want to thank you.
    Steve: For what?
    Kayla: Making Christmas Eve just perfect. You dressed like Santa Claus and were great with my family. Despite not having your memory, you did a good job and made the best of it.
    Steve: Yeah...well, it felt comfortable for some reason.
    Kayla: As it should. With all of us helping you, you will remember everything in no time. I mean, you already called me Sweetness and Jack his nickname. Tonight you mentioned the reindeer polking you in the eye as Santa...your getting there.
    Steve: Yeah. I just hate being a blank slate. I want to feel what you are feeling and to know what you know. Man...what if I never remember?
    Kayla: Then I will still love you just as much, if not more. I have never loved anyone else and never will. Not like I do you. I am confident you will remember and will feel the same way when you do. If not, then we can still be together, as a family. We can and will make it work.

    Kayla embraces him as a confused Steve looks on.

    Act 1, Scene 2: Marlena's Penthouse. Roman and Marlena enter.

    Roman: What a night!! My daughter and I finally get a new beginning, Eric gets his miracle, and I learn my beautiful wife is alive and well. It can't get any better then this, baby. (leans in and kisses Marlena)
    Marlena: It's wonderful to be back...in your arms. Seeing everyone again...being home with my family. Hmm...what a feeling.
    Roman: It was truly a night for miracles that's for sure! It must have been painful for you to answer all the questions about where you were and how you survived., especially since you said you can't remember.
    Marlena: Yeah, it was. I wish I did know myself. It's a worrisome feeling.
    Roman: Well, we will get to the bottom of it soon enough. Oh, that reminds me. I know you said earlier that you knew about Sami and I burying the hatchet and Eric surviving because you had been in Salem since this morning but how did you know what happened to Carrie while you were gone? Oh, and how did you know about me being Roman? I mean, when we all last saw you on the island, it wasn't confirmed yet. I mean, I can't beleive you know as much as you do. (laughing) Are you sure you haven't been watching us the whole time you were gone?

    Act 1, Scene 3: Sami is at her apartment when there is a knock. She opens the door to reveal Lucas.

    Sami: It's about time.
    Lucas: Well, I wanted to wait until Will was asleep because I don't want him to hear us discussing what we are going to discuss. Plus, I went to visit my mom. Austin, Billie, and Philip were there so that took awhile and...
    Sami: Lucas, I get it. Just shut up and let's get to why you are here. You mentioned some things to me at the Horton's and at the hospital and I want to know what you meant. You said...
    Lucas: I know what I said.
    Sami: Well, what did you mean? Look, I want to know where all this is going. It sounded like you were dropping hints or something. Is that it? You need to tell me something? Is it about us?

    Lucas is silent.

    Sami: Damnit Lucas!!! I want answers!! Do you want to give us another chance or not?

    Act 1, Scene 4: Bo and Hope's house. Hope is asleep on the couch as Bo walks JT in through the kitchen.

    Bo: Ok...you had some milk. Now do you think you could sleep?
    JT: Will you read to me like my other daddy did?
    Bo: Yeah, sure. Let's go on upstairs quietly. Don't want to wake your Mom. It's been a long day for her. Come on...

    Bo goes upstairs with JT, leaving Hope on the couch. We then see a bright light shining on Hope and voice begins to call out.

    Voice: Mommy! Mommy!

    Hope stirs and slowly wakes up and rises, stunned. She sees Zack immersed in a white light in front of her, dressed all in white.

    Hope: Zack?! Baby, is that you?
    Zack: Merry Christmas, Mommy!!

    Hope's eyes fill with tears.

    Hope: Merry Christmas, baby.

    Salem Lives Opening plays

    Act 2, Scene 1: Bo and Hope's house. Hope is stunned to see Zack in front of her.


    Hope: Baby...your here!!
    Zack: I came to see you.
    Hope: Oh...honey, mommy is so happy to see you. (goes to embrace him but goes right through him) Mommy seems to have forgotten...your no longer with us.
    Zack: Did you like my gift mommy?
    Hope: What...oh. I see. JT...JT was the gift?
    Zack: No, mommy. JT's mommy and daddy are up here with me...where it's pretty.
    Hope: Then...what gift are you talking about?
    Zack: Sissy!!
    Hope: Chelsea? Chelsea is your gift.
    Zack: Your her mommy too. Now you and daddy can be happy!
    Hope: Oh...sweetheart. Mommy and daddy have alot to work out and...(looks at Zack smiling) I love my gift.
    Zack: I miss you, mommy!!
    Hope: I miss you too, honey. Why don't you come and see daddy?
    Zack: I can't. I don't want to get in trouble with the big boss guy.
    Hope (laughing): Ok...I am sure you are a little angel.
    Zack: See my wings mommy!! (Zack shakes his wings and smiles)
    Hope (crying): Yeah, honey. I see...they're like a perfect fit.
    Zack: I have to go...tell daddy and sissy and Shawn I love them. Tell JT too. I would've liked him.
    Hope (smiling): Yeah, you would've. I will tell them all. I love you, baby.
    Zack: I love you too, mommy!!
    Hope (crying): Zack...wait!!! Will you come back to see me like you did this time? Zack!! Don't go!! Please!!!

    Bo comes downstairs and sees Hope, talking in her sleep and moaning Zack's name.

    Bo: Hope! Hope!

    Hope stirs and wakes up.

    Hope: Oh...I as dreaming?
    Bo: Yeah...was it about Zack?
    Hope: It was just like on the island when he came to me. I wasn't sure he came to me then...and I'm not sure now.
    Bo: What did he say?

    Hope wonders if she should tell him and risk revealing Chelsea's true parentage.

    Act 3, Scene 1: Marlena's penthouse.

    Marlena: Why would I stalk my family and friends for months and not tell you all I was alive? That is ridiculous!!
    Roman: It just seems weird you knew everything that has happened.
    Marlena: I don't know everything. I don't know why Abby and Chelsea are in the hospital. I don't know why Victor and Maggie seem so much closer.
    Roman: Well, you do know about what Eric went through and what has been going on with Carrie. You also knew about Alan being back in Salem and about me being confirmed to be the real Roman Brady. How about also knowing that the guy thought to be Roman for years was revealed to be Cal Winters? How did you know that?
    Marlena: I don't know. I just do. Like I said, I woke up on a park bench this morning. I was disoriented and I just didn't want to reveal myself to everyone at once. You were all dealing with so much and...
    Roman: You know what? I'm sorry. It's just...seeing you here and...I am just so happy to have you back. Why don't we stop the twenty questions and just focus on your homecoming?
    Marlena: Sounds like a plan to me. (puts her arms around Roman and kisses him)
    Roman (pushing her away): Wait a sec...I have a question.
    Marlena: Yes?
    Roman: Are you ok with this? You know...me being Roman and all that has happened? Does this change anything between us?

    Marlena looks on, contemplating the question just posed to her.

    Act 4, Scene 1: Sami's apartment.

    Sami: Well? Look Lucas, we've both been to hell and back over the years and I just want an answer. The way you have been acting lately, especially tonight, makes me wonder. Am I reading to much into it? Ever since I tried to clean up my life it seems like something has...it's like there was a wall between us and it's slowly been coming down. Am I imagining this? I know you love Carrie and she was having your baby but she's gone and...just say something. Please!!! I know you may still be pissed at me for what I did to Carrie with Lexie's help but you do owe me the truth. We have a son and, after all our years together, you owe me answers right now.

    Lucas looks on, silent and appears to be thinking.

    Lucas: We sure have been through alot, haven't we?

    We then see a montage of flashbacks LUMI MONTAGE

    Sami: Yeah we have. So...do you have an answer to my questions yet or not?

    Lucas looks at her and turns and walks away as a frustrated Sami goes to her room and slams the door in frustration.

    Sami (yelling behind the closed door): Merry Christmas, you insensitive jerk!!

    Salem Lives halfway theme plays.

    Act 5, Scene 1: Kayla's suite. Steve is sleeping on the couch and hears Kayla moaning in her room. He gets up and enters her room quietly. He sits down by her and gently taps her to awaken her.

    Steve: Hey...you ok?
    Kayla: Oh, I'm fine. I was just dreaming or something. I do alot of that, especially now with everything we've been through.
    Steve: Yeah, I remember you doing it when we were captive in Sydney. We have been through alot...you being shot and all. It's understandable that you would have nightmares. You ok?
    Kayla: Yeah...with you here I'm always fine.
    Steve: Well...do you need to me to sleep in here...like on the floor or something?
    Kayla: Uh...I wouldn't want you to trouble yourself or be uncomfortable. I mean...
    Steve: Well, when I held you in my arms in the cell in Sydney you seemed to calm down and finally get some sleep. Woah...I shouldn't have brought that up. I mean, I don't remember hardly anything and I shouldn't be giving you false hope that I'm going to take you in my arms and it will be like everything is as you remember it.
    Kayla: You wouldn't be and no apologies necessary. Look...Steve. Your my husband, whether you remember it or not. I remember it...every moment. every kiss, every promise. Just like it were yesterday.

    We then see a Steve/Kayla montage STEVE/KAYLA MONTAGE

    Kayla: It was an incredible ride and it's still not over. You will remember. I know it.
    Steve: Yeah...well, why don't we worry about you and me getting some sleep. I can't just sit in the chair and...
    Kayla: What about your original idea? Holding me in your arms liek you did in the cell...I mean you mentioned it. Perhaps...maybe you mentioned it because you want to do it or were drawn to?
    Steve: Uh...I probably shouldn't have brought...
    Kayla: It could help your memory. I mean, it could jog something. It didn't in the cell but you never know.
    Steve: Maybe...alright. Look...I'm not going to do anything to take advantage...
    Kayla: Your my husband. It's ok...just come lay down.

    Steve lays down and tentatively puts his arms around Kayla, who shows a smile as her back is turned toward Steve.

    Act 6, Scene 1: Marlena's penthouse.


    Marlena: Why would you ask that? When we first thought you were Roman...it brought us together. Then, we learned you were John Black and our love was still there. Our love has never wavered no matter who we thought you were. It's too strong for that. We've been through so much and our love only grew stronger.
    Roman: Yeah. After all we have been through...we can face up to anything and overcome it. Together.
    Marlena: Just like we always have.
    Roman: Just like we always will.

    We then see a Roman/Marlena montage ROMAN/MARLENA MONTAGE

    Marlena: I love you, John...oops, sorry.

    They both laugh.


    Marlena: I love you, Roman Brady.
    Roman: And I love you, Marlena Evans.

    They kiss passionately as Roman picks her up and carries her upstairs to the bedroom.

    Act 7, Scene 1: Bo and Hope house.

    Hope: I don't know if it was a dream or not, Bo. All I know is both times he has come to me it felt real but it could've also been a dream. Last time, he helped point me in the right direction to save Chelsea.
    Bo: Yeah, and that helped you and her start to get along, right?
    Hope: Yeah.
    Bo: Maybe is was trying to tell you something by coming to you in your dreams? I don't usually buy into stuff like that but, who knows. Celeste is always right about everything so I guess it's possible. What did he say this time?
    Hope: He wished all of us a Merry Christmas. Then he proudly showed off his angel's wings. I asked him if JT was his gift for us and he said it wasn't but that he would've liked him. All he would say is JT's other mommy and daddy are up there with him...where it's pretty.
    Bo (smiling): Sounds like our Zack.
    Hope: He wants us to be happy Bo. That much is clear. Both times he came to me...he wants his parents together but I told him...it's not easy.
    Bo: No, it's not. We have alot to work through and talk about. I mean, we could do that now while I am staying her for the night since it's JT's first night back. That is, if you want to.
    Hope: We have been through so much...worked through so many obstacles. Why is it so hard this time?
    Bo: Our son died. It's the biggest horror any parents can face. It takes time and I made matters worse by lying and then all the stuff with Victor and...
    Hope: Are you saying that was wrong? Are you quitting?
    Bo: I don't want to talk about that now.
    Hope: Well, you said you wanted to work things out.
    Bo: I do but it's Christmas Eve and...you know what? Let me just say this to you. After all we have been through, I love you now just as much as I loved you then. (points at their first wedding photo) I have never stopped. My love grows leaps and bounds everytime I look at you. All the trials and tribulations...what we have is special. We both know that. Having heard all that, we have to work through alot but we love each other. We need each other and we haven't been there for each other like we should've been with me going off with Victor and...

    Hope puts her hand on Bo's mouth.

    Hope: I never stopped loving you. Don't ever think that. This whole year has been horrible for the both of us. We should've worked through it together but we didn't. We can't change that. All we can do is try to work things out. I'm sorry it took me so long to come around but the pain and grief...I was just so overcome and afraid to even try to work things out with you given your role in Zack's death. The visit from Zack on the island and dropping the charges against Chelsea...I had to get past my anger towards you. I realized alot of it was misplaced. I was more angry with myself...I wasn't there for him. I didn't protect him (crying).
    Bo (putting his arms around her): There was nothing you could've done. We all have our own time to go and his time was meant to be short-lived.
    Hope (crying): I miss him, Bo. I miss him!! (Hope breaks down in Bo's arms and then slowly pulls away and looks into his eyes).
    Hope: I need you. I need you so bad!!

    Bo holds Hope in his arms. She pulls away again, looks at Bo, and they slowly lean in and kiss. The kiss then turns passionate and Bo picks her up and carries her upstairs to the bedroom. We then see a Bo/Hope montageBO/HOPE MONTAGE

    Act 8, Final ActL As Celine Dion's "Another Year Has Gone By" plays, Another Year Has Gone By,

    We see Steve and Kayla in her bed. Kayla is sound asleep and Steve is wide awake. He relaxes his arms, moves closer to Kayla, and says:


    Steve: It feels right. Just right...

    The scene then shifts to Bo carrying Hope into the bedroom and slowly laying her on the bed. Hope pulls off his shift and they both undress.

    Hope: Bo...I love you. I love you so much.
    Bo: I love you too, Fancy Face.

    They kiss passionately and continue to make love as the scene shifts to Roman and Marlena. who are both undressing in her bedroom.

    Roman: God, I love you doc.
    Marlena: I love...you. Oh, how I missed you!!

    They continue to make love as the scene shifts to Sami's apartment. Lucas is looking at pictures on Sami's mantle of him and Sami and them both with Will.

    Lucas: What am I doing? What is wrong with...(hears a door open and turns around to see Sami, dressed in a negligee)
    Sami: Now...am I what you want, Lucas, or what?

    Lucas and Sami slowly walk towards each other. They stare each other down. Lucas the lunges for Sami and they kiss passionately.

    Lucas: I want you!! I do Sami!! I love you!!
    Sami: Oh...Lucas. I want you too!! I love you...I love you!!


    They ram into the wall and continue to kiss. Sami takes his shirt off and they begin to undress each other. Lucas then picks her up and carries her into her room.

    We then see a series of images of Steve and Kayla lying close in bed, Roman and Marlena making love, Bo and Hope making love, and Sami and Lucas making love as the screen fades out as Celine Dion's song "Another Year has Gone By" continues to play.

    ***Salem Lives will be preempted Monday December 25 for the Christmas holiday but we will be back Tuesday with:

    Hope to Bo: It's Shawn. He's on the phone.
    Laura to Jack and Abby: I must say goodbye.
    Abe to Shane: It's Stefano. He is on his way back to Salem.
    Victor: Stefano is arriving in Salem. This time, he won't be so lucky.
    Hope to Bo: You continue to work with Victor and I'm not sure we have a future.

    -It's a new day in Salem. Laura and Bill arrive at the hospital to say goodbye to Jack and Abby before they leave for Africa. Bill thanks Laura for going with him to help out. She says she needs to. She did some horrible things during her few months in Salem and she needs to make up for them.

    They enter the room and Abby gives them both a big hug, saying she wishes they didn't go. Bill says they have to and kisses her goodbye. Laura does the same and promises to return for another visit. She apologizes to Abby for everything again and wishes her luck and happiness. Abby says it's ok and thanks her. Jack then comes in with JJ and Bill embraces both of them and says goodbye.

    Laura asks Jack if they are really ok. Jack says it's forgotten, for the family's sake. It's what Jennifer would want. He hugs her and says come back soon. Laura smiles and gives JJ a big kiss and says goodbye. Jack and JJ then sit with Abby.

    -Meanwhile, at the Horton house, Maggie is saying goodbye to Melissa and Sarah. She thanks them for coming. She would've never made it through her relapse without them. They add that they will miss her. Alice, Doug, Julie, and Maggie thank them for sticking around for the holidays. Don arrives and Maggie embraces him, thanking him too. She tells him to come back soon. He says he will.

    Laura and Bill arrive to say goodbye. Alice kisses Bill and Laura, as does Julie and Maggie. Doug tells them both not to be strangers. They all say they will come to visit but they must go now before they miss their flights. It's a busy travel day and Bill says he needs to stop off and see Lucas and Will too before he goes. Don says he would like to see Marlena before leaving as well so he should get a move on. Alice, Doug, Julie, and Maggie wave and say goodbye as Laura, Bill, Melissa, Sarah, and Don leave.

    -Kimberly is at the Pub with Shane when Andrew and Jeannie come down, saying it's time for them to catch their flight. Caroline comes out and wishes they wouldn't leave. Andrew says that they need to. They need to take care of his dad's place in London while mom is staying in Salem and him and Jeannie have classes. Caroline hugs them both and reminds them to come and visit. Kim and Shane kiss and hug them, telling them to keep the house in one piece and to call every chance they get.

    Shane says he trusts them both and knows they will be fine. Caroline, Kim, and Shane say goodbye as Andrew and Jeannie leave. Caroline says she is happy Kim decided to stay around. Kim says she has been away too long and with everything their family has been through she just wants to be with them for awhile. Besides, it's better then sitting in Shane's living room in London doing nothing.

    Shane reminds Kim he allowed her to stay in his house as a guest. Kim says he only felt sorry for her because she is in a wheelchair. Shane tries to explain himself but Kim starts laughing and says she was joking. She thanks him for taking her in with the kids when she needed a place to live. Shane then gets a call and races to the police station. Caroline and Kim hope there isn't trouble.

    -Greta arrives at the hospital to check on Eric and drop off a get well balloon. She sees Nicole lying near him as he is laying up, sleeping. She knocks lightly and Eric and Nicole awaken. Nicole asks Greta if she is jealous. Greta laughs and says she isn't. She will always care for Eric but he's her husband and he loves her. Eric says he will always care for her and thanks her for everything. He knows he put her through alot and he should've listened to her advice. Maybe all the trouble of the last few weeks wouldn't have happened.

    Greta says it's all over and she was happy to help. Nicole thanks her too. Greta says that one good thing was that the whole situation made Nicole and her bury the hatchet. Nicole smiles and says it had to happen eventually. She has nothing she wants. Greta sarcastically laughs and reminds Nicole she is a princess. Eric tells both women to stop.

    A nurse comes in to check on Eric while Greta and Nicole talk alone. Greta asks about Nicole's job in LA. Nicole says she checked her messages finally and she lost it. Greta asks if Eric knows. Nicole shakes her head and says she isn't going to tell him until he gets out of the hospital and until she finds work. Greta advises Nicole not to keep secrets but Nicole says it's for the best. Eric will feel guilty and it will hurt his recovery. She asks that Greta not tell him. She says she won't.

    Nicole goes back to sit by Eric's side as Greta shakes her head, wondering why people keep secrets all the time. She then remembers she is keeping the secret of Victor being her father. After seeing the good side of Victor, Greta wonders if she should tell him he is her father.

    -Victor is working the phones, talking to contacts about Stefano's whereabouts when Nico bursts in. He says he has word that Stefano is returning to Salem on New Year's Eve. One of their secret contacts has learned he has plans for the Horton Foundation Ball that Titan is helping to sponsor and fund. Victor says he should've known Stefano would lie low and reappear at a time when all of his enemies are in one place.

    Victor tells Nico they will have to act fast. Another man enters. Nico calls him James. Victor asks who the man is. Nico says his name is James McClure (Roscoe Born), a new employee of theirs. Nico says he is willing to do dangerous work, work some of their employees won't do or aren't skilled enough to. Victor is intrigued and shakes James's hands, welcoming him aboard. James says he is pleased to be working for a man with the reputation and power that Victor has. Victor says he doesn't care for flattery and says it's time to get down to business.

    Victor asks Nico to have James come with him to acquire blueprints of the new Salem Tower, the location of the ball, so they know what they will be dealing with when they have to go up against Stefano. Nico agrees and James follows him out but not before turning and giving a cold look at Victor behind his back. Victor vows to end the Dimera reign on New Year's Eve.

    -Abe is with Roman when they get word from Agent Specter in London that Stefano is returning to Salem on New Year's Eve. Roman says that this means he plans to do something at the ball. They must be prepared. Abe agrees and calls Shane.

    Shane arrives and they fill him in. Roman gets a phone call and goes to take it. He returns and tells Abe and Shane that he learned from a contact of his that Victor is plotting to stop Stefano on New Year's Eve too. The war between Victor and Stefano is going to explode. Abe says that so many innocent lives will be at stake. Shane adds that they can't cancell the ball. This is a chance to lure Stefano out of hiding.

    Roman says it's also a chance to end the war, something he vows to do. Too many people he loves have been put in danger by Dimera but also by this war. Victor is at fault for the war and he needs to stop him and Stefano. The ball will go on as planned and they will keep an eye out. If they think things are getting too risky, they start evaculating and use the SWAT team to help. Abe agrees and so does Shane. They can't cancell the ball and give up a chance to flush out Stefano.

    Abe hopes Lexie will return too. Shane goes to organize the man power for the ball. Roman says they will need to have all the officers, snipers and SWAT members in party attire. Bullet proof helmets and vets will only be put on when the men are in their positions and getting prepared for orders to fire. Roman vows that New Year's will be the end of Stefano and the Dimera reign, as well as the end to the Dimera/Kiriakis war. He will not allow Victor to put anymore of his loved ones in danger or in the line of fire. It all ends on New Year's Eve, if he has anything to say about it.

    -Hope wakes up and is shocked Bo is no longer in bed with her. She goes downstairs and finds him dressed and looking over some files of Stefano. She asks what he is doing. He stays silent. She deduces he is still doing work for Victor to help go after Stefano. She thought he was through with that. They finally foudn each other again and with JT back she thought he would end this and go back to the SPD, Bo says the SPD has too many rules. He is doing this for his family and friends. With JT back, that is more of a reason. He needs to protect them and putting an end to Stefano and the Dimera reign will make things safe for all of Salem.

    Hope asks but at what costs. He already got shot. She reminds him of Sydney and also of everything that happened on Christmas and during the holidays. She thought he understood but he clearly didn't. She tells him if he continues to work with Victor on going after Stefano in this manner, she isn't sure they have a future.

    Bo is frustrated and says he is doing this for her and their loved ones. She yells to him to do it with the police then, not as a part of a mafia war. Bo says everything that happened during the holidays and on Christmas was lie. They are still worlds apart. Hope agrees and says that maybe it was just the holidays and JT being back because they still have major problems. Bo then gets a call from Victor, asking him to meet him at the mansion.

    Bo tells Hope he has to go. Hope guesses it was Victor and can't beleive after all that has happened and after all they discussed he is actually going to take off like that. Bo says he is doing it for her and everyone he loves. He puts his coat on and walks out as Hope follows him out the door and yells:

    Hope: You won't be happy until you get yourself killed, won't you? Damnit, Brady!!!

    Bo drives off.

    Hope: I have to stop this. I have to get him out of this damn war before he gets himself killed...no matter what I have to do.

    The screen then fades out on a determined Hope.

    On the Next Salem Lives...

    Stephanie to Steve and Kayla: I hate to have to say goodbye.
    Sami to Lucas: Where do we go from here?
    Carrie to Alan: Maybe this is wrong. Maybe I shouldn't leave. Maybe it's time I reveal myself and admit the truth.
    Philip to Victor: I want in on your dealings.
    Roman to Belle: You don't have to stay with Philip, sweetheart.
    Victor: The hell she don't!!
    Roman to Marlena: What is going on with you?
    Victor to Bo: It's time you prove your loyalty to me and our cause.

    I: Thanks for joining us. How exciting for you to be on Salem Lives!!
    RB: Yes! I was shocked when they called me. The writers and producers wanted to meet with me and we discussed the role. I must confess I didn't think the role was anything special. It seemed cut and dry and vert short-term but there are many layers to James and so much to do with him story-wise.
    I: The daytime world has been waiting for you to land something since you run on Y&R ended. Is James anything like Tom Fisher?
    RB: No. There may look like there are similarities at first but there isn't. Once the story develops, the fans will see that. James is very complex then he seems and that is why I took on this role. It's challenging but I am looking forward to the road ahead.
    I: Is James like anyone else you played?
    RB: Hmm...I probably shouldn't say. I don't want to give away too much and I might if I an answer in detail here. I will just say he has some qualities from many of the roles I played. Fans will just have to see for themselves.
    I: What can you tell us about James?
    RB: Well, he is an ex-con. We don't know how he got released or what he did intially but that is explained shortly. He has a wife and two kids, who he struggles to support. He takes a job with Victor (John Aniston) but he seems very shifty, as fans already know from my first episode on Dec. 26. There is alot to him that will slowly be revealed but those are the basics.
    I: Who do you interact with besides, obviously, Victor (John Aniston)?
    RB: Again, don't want to give out too much. I interact with everyone in Victor's organization so that gives you some hints. Here is another that I will give you but I won't elaborate on it. I interact early on with a popular Salem female and I think that will be a shock to fans.
    I: Hmm...interesting. It seems they are bringing the McClure family on to interact with James.
    RB: Yeah. They are casting the wife and two kids, who will play a role in helping the fans understand the character of James. They are pivotal in the story that is going on. They will be around very soon.
    I: Can't wait! Can you tell us how long James will be around? Could your stay be extended?
    RB: All depends. I know how far into the year the story goes, as of right now, and I know the plan that is set for James barring any changes. I will just take it one day at a time and enjoy. I love it so far and I love what I am doing here so we'll see.
    I: Thanks for joining us. We wish you continued success and look forward to seeing the story play out.
    RB: Thanks. I am sure you and the fans won't be disappointed.

    -At the mountain retreat, Cal Winters has just ended another hypnosis session. He is quite frustrated, having had no breakthrough since he lost his identity as Roman Brady. His doctor, Katherine, assures him that:

    Katherine: Since we now have come to some type of understanding, the sessions have gone much more smoothly. Don’t worry, Cal. Something is bound to happen soon.
    Cal: (Getting off the couch) Stop making these promises. On top of the fact that I don’t have one clue as to who I really am, I don’t even know who was responsible for doing this to me.
    Katherine: I know and I realize that can also be very frustrating. You speak of this man.........Stefano?
    Cal: Yes. He’s the scum who has been terrorizing the people of Salem for years. But......I also must consider that maybe, just maybe, he’s not responsible for this.
    Katherine: Let’s do this. (Walking over to him) Why don’t we give it a rest for tonight and get a good night sleep. We’ll tackle this tomorrow, ok?

    She places her soft touch on his shoulder. Cal turns to look at her:

    Cal: Yes. Let’s do just that. And, possibly, move on to more.......sensual things.

    He starts to kiss her but she backs away at the last moment, saying:

    Katherine: I said sleep, not sex. Besides, you don’t have any memory. How would you know how you did it in the past?
    Cal: You don’t need past memories for that, my dear.
    Katherine: You know, just because we reached an understanding does not mean you and me are...
    Cal: Something more then doctor and patient? I was thinking it could be part of my therapy.
    Katherine: Cal...look. You and I went from hating each other to reaching common ground and now your hitting on me. We can't have that if we are going to succeed in...
    Cal: I'm sorry. You had to know part of the reason why I was hard on you when we first met was because I was attracted to you. I mean you are beautiful and...(Katherine puts her hand up to his mouth)
    Katherine: Stop there. Let's just drop all this, ok?
    Cal: Ok.

    They both laugh. He kisses her on her cheek and goes off to bed. As she watches him leave, she stares lovingly at him. She will not admit the feelings that have now begun to surface inside her for this man because what he’s going through is much more important than their possible future together.

    Cal relaxes in his bed, listening for Katherine’s bedroom door to close. Once he hears it, he drifts off to sleep. As he falls deeper and deeper into sleep, he is suddenly confronted by visions of times past. Violent, quick flashing images of gunfire, screams, and terror. He can’t focus on any one memory but he then hears a voice telling him that.......

    Voice: “It will be alright, son. Please, come home. We need you. Please, come home........”

    Cal suddenly jumps screaming loudly into the night, causing Katherine to rush in. When she asks what happened, he can’t even speak. He’s sweating heavily and he grabs hold of her, shaking. She responds by hugging him and telling him it will be alright. He comes out of it long enough to tell her some startling news. When she asks what it is, he finally admits that.....

    He’s had a breakthrough. Katherine is happy for him and asks about it but he falls backwards onto his bed as she looks off into the distance startled and shocked by this sudden turn of events. She sits by him and watches him as he slowly drifts back off to sleep.

    -Back in Salem, at the hospital, Nicole and Eric wonder about what the future may bring. When he asks her about High Style and Los Angeles, she grows silent. He keeps asking her why she has gotten quiet every single time he’s asked that question. She turns and slowly walks back over to his bed, sitting down, and taking his hand. She tells him the truth, finally, that the reason why she never talks about it is that........

    She was fired from High Style for staying in Salem to be there for him. Eric gets a little upset, saying that he thought the lies had stopped after the whopper he told about his condition. She feels bad about lying to him but says it was for the right reasons this time. He understands that but wants this to be the last time. She promises that it will be but also wants him to get off his high horse as well.

    When he asks what that means, she says that she will not accept him giving her orders about her behavior when she sees him lying in a hospital bed because of his lies. She also reminds him that Roman almost died twice and that Sami had to pull a gun on Shane just to find Roman after his helicopter crashed while he was on his way back with medicine......to save his life. Eric sheepishly sits in his bed, quietly saying that he has removed himself from off of his high horse. They both laugh and then she brings up how she hopes their children don’t act as high and mighty as their father.

    Eric smiles at that statement saying that it would be really nice to have kids, especially if she is their mother. Nicole reminds him she can't have kids naturally and also says that with all of her bad experiences when she was younger, she was always scared to have kids but now that she is with him, that fear has disappeared. He says then it’s settled. As soon as he’s out of there, they will look into their options in starting a family as there are sure to be plenty. This causes Nicole to smile, right before she leans in and gives him a soft kiss, which he returns passionately.

    -Down the hall from Eric’s room, Abby has just risen from a comfortable sleep. She looks around to see that Max, who is asleep next to her, has decorated the entire room with New Year’s party favors. She smiles like a schoolgirl, as Max wakes up and looks at her asking if she is ok. She says she is feeling just fine now, especially since he went to all that trouble. He says it was no trouble at all. Anything for his princess.

    Max then gets a serious look on his face. When Abby asks what’s wrong, he hesitates. He can’t even look at her and stands up to walk to the window. Abby then demands to know what is bothering him and then he takes a deep breath before turning around and saying to her that there was a massive shootout at the Titan/Horton Foundation Ball that night and that many people were killed and wounded.

    Abby is in a state of shock, asking if her father is alright. Max tells her he’s fine but her Uncle Steve is getting an MRI done right now in emergency and that Lucas, Austin and Roman were all shot. She can’t believe it, asking who is behind all of this. Max says that the gossip on the floor is that Stefano and Victor decided to turn the party into the OK Corral. She starts to get more upset when Max tells her to calm down. Before she can speak, he puts his finger on her lips, telling her that Abe and Shane have the whole city drag netted and are looking for both of them right now. He promises them that they won’t get far.

    She trusts his word and finally calms down. Max then walks over to the end table and pulls out sparkling cider and two glasses, knowing Abby can't take a risk and have champaigne while on meds. He pops the cork on the bottle and Abby smiles once again. He then looks at her, while filling both glasses full, and gives her one. He once again tells her that she is the most important lady in his life and he intends to spend all of 2007 and beyond proving just that. They touch glasses, drink, and then lean in for a wonderful kiss. Max then takes out a remote control and presses play, so both of them can watch the ball dropping in New York City since she fell asleep and missed it at midnight.

    Abby says that she doesn’t know what she did to deserve a man like him but she won’t question a thing. Max smiles and they both count down to the New Year. When the screen lights up “2007!!” they both give each other a long kiss, promising to begin anew with their feelings for one another.

    -Cassie DiMera is at the DiMera Mansion, having just returned home from shopping hours earlier. She is worn out and all of her items are all around her. She is feeling a bit woozy. She orders the servants to take her brand new belongings up to her room as she gets a drink from the bar. One of the servants informs her of what happened at the Ball and about her grandfather's involvement. Wondering where he has been all this time and why he hasn't come by the mansion yet, she gets a drink from his bar and sips it slowly. She then decides that staying in the mansion is not an option and decides to go to the hospital to find Max.

    Thirty minutes later, she is walking on the same floor Abby is on and starts looking inside room windows. She becomes angry when she looks inside Abby’s window and sees both Abby and Max engaged in a rather passionate kiss. She begins to go into her room to confront him but decides not to, vowing that he will be hers one day by any means necessary. She starts to stomp away but suddenly feels faint. She gets lightheaded and stumbles against the nearest wall, wondering what is going on.

    Her eyes then roll into the back of her head as she collapses on the floor suddenly. She lays there until a nurse notices her on the floor and calls for emergency help.

    -Marlena is very upset, wondering what James’s problem is sneaking up on her like that. He answers her, saying:

    James: This was the only way I could catch up with you without being seen.
    Marlena: You must be nuts finding me after what just happened up in the Tower. Do you know what could happen to us if Victor, Stefano Roman, or anyone for that matter find out what we’ve involved in?! (Calming down) So, how did everything go on your end?
    James: Well enough. Even though many have been injured and killed, it went off decently.
    Marlena: Maybe for you but it was a disaster for me. That’s why I have to get to the damn hospital to see what’s going on.
    James: You can’t go there! (Grabbing her arm) If someone sees you after what you did.....
    Marlena: (Yanking her arm away) Don’t EVER grab me.......like that......again. (Pausing, then looking around) I don’t have a damn choice now, do I? If my daughter wouldn’t have knocked me out......this whole thing would be over with by now.
    James: Yeah. Yeah, I know. And.......I’m sorry for grabbing you like that. It’s just been one hell of an evening, ok?
    Marlena: I know, I know. (Looking around once again) Look. You need to get out of here before Victor gets suspicious, ok?
    James: Oh, no doubt. He doesn’t suspect a thing but if my cover is blown, there will be hell to pay.
    Marlena: I know. I’ve seen him when he has been betrayed. It’s a good thing he doesn’t know that you and I are working towards the same outcome.
    James: And that is exactly how it will stay until this operation is over. Now......it’s time for me to split. You take care, Marlena.
    Marlena: You too and be careful. We’ll talk later.

    Both James and Marlena go their separate ways, hoping that they lsee their plan reach it’s inevitable outcome.

    -Back at the hospital, Bo is seen coming out of a orderly dressing room. He has stolen one of the uniforms and has disguised himself as one, walking past nurses and doctors. He stops cold in his tracks and ducks behind a thin wall when he sees Maggie, Caroline & Hope near a nurse’s station, sadly discussing:

    Hope: Why would Bo do this?! I just can’t believe that he would shoot his own brother. What could Victor have told him to make him hate Roman enough to do that?
    Caroline: Hope, I have no idea. It seems like ever since Shawn died and we came back from that damn island, he’s changed. I.......I just didn’t think he had that in him.
    Maggie: Well........all I can say is that I hope he comes to his senses and turns himself in before the police or the I.S.A. get a hold of him.
    Hope: I know. (Walking towards to hallway, near Bo) We have been through so much together. Adventures, romance, action, good times and bad. But........no matter what, even when I turned my back on him after Zack’s death, which I shouldn’t have done, mind you, I always thought that I knew him so well. And now this. Gunning Roman down......shooting him in the back. That’s not the same man who swept me off my feet when he stole me from Larry Welch.
    Caroline: (Walking over to her, hugging her) Hope, I know this sounds like I’m still protecting my son but, please......... have faith in him.

    Bo is listening sadly, but intently at everything being said......

    Caroline: As a mother’s instinct, something tells me that it could all be alright. Just give it time, dear.
    Maggie: That is easier said than done, Caroline. Bo seems to have changed.......and for the worse.
    Hope: Which also means that maybe you should stay away from Victor as well. He was a decent man for so many years and now he’s turned right back into the same man who tried to blow Bo and I up on his yacht in Miami all those years ago.
    Caroline: I agree with Hope. It’s easy to talk about my son when you are hanging around Victor so much. Take off your own rose-colored glasses and look around at what has happened and then make the right decision, Maggie.

    Maggie is silent at this point as she listens to what both women had to say. The group is then suddenly startled by Kayla, who has come out of the OR with news:

    Kayla: Roman made it through surgery and is in stable condition. We’re taking him upstairs to ICU right now and I’ll let you know how he’s doing as soon as possible, ok?

    Kayla hugs her mother as all four women breath a sigh of relief. Roman is then wheeled out past them and they are shocked at all of the tubes and bandages that are on him. As he is wheeled in to the hallway, Bo secretly follows the group to the elevators but then detours to the stairs, sneaking past everyone. Once the stair doorway is closed, Bo pauses for a moment, saying to himself:

    Bo: Now it’s time.........to end this once and for all.

    In the cafeteria, Sami and Belle are getting something to drink when Belle looks at Sami and says, happily:

    Belle: I am so proud of you, Sami. Or maybe I should call you Samantha. You’ve earned the full name. This is the person I always knew you could be.
    Sami: Thank you, Belle. (Pausing) You know, you can call me anything you want, just as long as it is not [!@#$%^&*] or nutcase or........whatever everyone used to call me.
    Belle: (Sipping her soda) Sami, all I can do is be happy for you. I think you have seen what happens when you give life and love a chance, huh?
    Sami: Yeah, I know, but.......this was not and is not an overnight thing.

    Both girls walk down the hallway.

    Sami: I just came to the realization that I was sick of being lonely all the time. (Looking at Belle) Do you know that no one would call me on my birthday? Or on holidays? Family picnics or dinners were off-limits to me. But.........I can’t blame anyone else but me. I did that. I pushed everyone away. And I had you, my beautiful little sister........

    Belle smiles at that statement.......

    Sami: And I still remember always saying how Dad and Mom cared more for you than they ever did for me. Huh. How can you care for someone who constantly tells their loved ones to go to hell, huh?
    Belle: Well, that’s how we learn, Sami. All we could do is tell you how much you hurt us when you acted like that. But, truthfully......you were really hurting yourself more than anyone. You can’t live your life messing with people lives and then getting mad at them when they rightfully tell you about yourself.
    Sami: I know that now. I guess that’s why Lucas and I are so much closer now.
    Belle: All Lucas ever wanted was a real, grown woman and that is what he’s getting now with you. He’s also quite the man now, jumping over tables and people just to save you. (Pausing, looking away) I wish Philip were still like that.
    Sami: Which begs the question........what is going on between you two?
    Belle: (Speaking angrily) You know, Sami, why don’t you mind your own business for once in your life.
    Sami: (With a shocked look) Hey, hey, hey. Calm down. I was only asking a question, for God Sakes.
    Belle: (Pausing) Look, I’m..........I’m sorry, ok? I didn’t mean that, alright?

    Belle starts to cry and Sami walks over to her and gently places her arm around her.

    Sami: Let me tell you something, Belle. And you listen to every word, ok?
    Belle: (Wiping away her tears) Ok.
    Sami: You are.......my sweet little sister. I have not been there for you in the past like I should but I’m here now and.......I love you so much. So, when you feel like talking about whatever is going on in your life, you let me know and I’ll be there for you.........I promise, ok?
    Belle: Ok. Thank you so much.

    Belle hugs Sami.

    Sami: (Smiling) No problem, sis.

    They look at each other and Sami wipes away the rest of her tears. They are then told by a nurse that their father is out of surgery and in the ICU and they rush upstairs to see how he has made it through this dreadful night.

    -As both girls stand waiting for the next elevator, they both spot Marlena walking up to the nurses station. She asks about Roman’s condition and the nurse, knowing who she is, informs her that he is out of surgery and is in stable condition in the ICU. She thanks the nurse and then turns around, not happy about that news. Both Sami & Belle run up to her and greet her, saying:

    Sami: It’s sure good to see you. Are you alright?
    Marlena: Yes, yes. I’m fine. It’s great to see you two made it out of there in one piece.
    Belle: I know. I just can’t believe what happened up there. It seemed like the entire town of Salem was packing heat and itching for a fight.
    Marlena: I know. I just heard about your father.
    Sami: Yeah. We were on our way up there to see how he’s doing. Mom, I have a question and I hope you don’t get upset.
    Marlena: No, sweety. I would never get upset with you two.

    Both girls look at each other strangely.

    Sami: Mom, if you know about Dad’s condition............why are you still standing here? Why aren’t you flying upstairs to see him right now?

    Marlena gets a very serious and angry look on her face.

    Marlena: Now, you listen up, missy. I don’t owe EITHER of you an explanation as to what I do, got it?!
    Belle: See, this is what I’m talking about. You’re getting upset now just like you did at the Ball. Then, I saw you aiming a gun at Dad. That’s why I hit you over the head. You’re not behaving like you should and I think you need some psychiatric help.
    Sami: I have to agree with Belle, Mom. You haven’t been yourself since you got back. Please........get the help that you need. I'm begging you.

    Marlena pauses briefly and then angrily answers her two daughters:

    Marlena: (Pointing her finger) Look, watch......and listen up. I’m not the damn problem here. My problem is having given birth to two nosy-ass brats who for some damn reason can’t keep their noses out of my life! (Gritting her teeth) Now........you two get out of my face and STAY out of my business......

    Before you really piss me off!

    Marlena then storms off with Sami and Belle staring at her back, wondering what in God’s green Earth has gotten into their mother. They then go back over to the elevators and silently board one on their way up to ICU.

    -Roman’s doctor checks his vital signs and Kayla looks on, stroking her brother’s hair and telling him that it will be alright. Roman lays there silently, having not regained consciousness since the shooting. The medical staff then starts to exit his room one by one, making sure that he is still in stable condition. Kayla bends over and gives her brother a kiss on his cheek, telling him that she loves him. She then sheds a tear, saying that he is the best big brother in the whole world.

    She slowly walks around his bed and looks at him one more time before dimming the light over his bed and walking out.

    The camera slowly comes back over to Roman, as we see him sleeping comfortably. The camera then pans up to his heart monitor, which we see is beating at a slow but normal rate.

    Then.........slowly........... a man steps into the shot. That man is dressed as an orderly but is not one.

    That man..........is Bo. And he stands above Roman.......with a mean, hateful look on his face. His eyes burn with hell’s hatred into his brother, as we then see flashbacks of all the fights and arguments that Bo and Roman have had over the years. We also see Marlena lambasting Bo for leaving Roman on Stefano’s beach to die.

    He is beyond angry at this point. So angry, in fact, that he slowly pulls out a scalpel from his pocket.

    He stares at his brother with cold hatred as he raises the scalpel slowly over his head.

    And then......his eyes grow wide..........in a psychotic rage...............as he BRINGS THE SCALPEL DOWN...............

    And the screen suddenly goes black.

    The Salem Lives Logo once again appears and the credits roll.

    -Cal wakes up as it is a new day, still reeling from his memory breakthrough the other night, and is hopeful this is the beginning of him getting his life back. He pulls himself out of bed and finds himself covered in sweat. Cal opts to take a shower to clean himself up.

    Meanwhile, unbeknowst to Cal, Katherine has just finished the shower and is about to open the shower doors. Cal is right outside the bathroom and listens in to see if Katherine is in there. After not hearing anything, Cal decides to enter. He opens the unlocked door and enters, just as Katherine climbs out of the shower. Cal has his back turned as Katherine is getting out and undresses himself. Katherine finally looks up and is so stunned to see Cal she drops her towel. Cal turns to see a naked Katherine and smiles.

    Cal: Well, Dr. Harcourt. This is a side of you I have never seen before. I like it...I like it alot.
    Katherine (studying Cal's body as much as he is studying her's): Uh...um...stop it!!

    Katherine quickly picks up her towel and covers up, finally realizing how embarassing the situation is. Cal smiles and says she has nothing to be ashamed of. Katherine asks Cal to cover up. She is his doctor only and she thought he understood that. She is pleased that they are getting along now but what is between them can't go beyond patient/doctor or friendship.

    Cal smiles and says he understands but also knows that you can't stop what is meant to be. Katherine is silent and changes the subject to Cal and how he is feeling. Cal says he is fine and is very hopeful now for the future. He thinks the breakthrough he had will lead to him recovering his total memory and finally reclaiming his life. Katherine urges him not to get his hopes up and says she was concerned about him after he woke up from sleeping after having the memory flash and then immediately laid back down and seem to pass out. Cal insists he is fine. Katherine asks about what he remembered. Cal fills her in and Katherine worries about the memories being too powerful and too much for him. That may be why he passed out immediately after the memory flash.

    Cal urges Katherine not to worry and that he is sure everything will work out now. She exits the bathroom so he can shower. He asks her to join him but she only smiles and leaves. After leaving, Katherine seems concerned and hopes Cal can handle whatever effect the memories have on him mentally and physically.

    -At the Horton House, the doorbell rings. Doug answers and embraces Maggie, who says she has come to see Alice. Doug informs Maggie that Julie and himself are about to visit Lucas at the hospital. Maggie says she already has seen him and says he is doing well. Julie appears and asks Doug if he is ready to go. Julie embraces Maggie and asks how she is doing. She says she is fine. Julie can see that she is worried about Victor and reminds Maggie how resourceful and strong Victor is. He will find a way out of this and will be back before she knows it.

    Doug is angered by the fact that Julie is encouraging Maggie's involvement wiht Victor. Julie tells Doug that Victor is a good man deep down but he will do anything to protect his family. It is that determination that has driven him to start this war. Julie acknowledges Victor has made mistakes but he has good intentions. Doug is stunned she would say that as so many innocent people have been caught in the crossfire because of his actions. Julie suggests they drop this and go to the hospital. They both embrace Maggie and leave.

    Maggie enters the living room and sees Alice sitting in her chair. Maggie comes over and kisses her. Alice admits she heard the whole discussion that was going on in the other room. She can tell Maggie is conflicted about Victor and everything that has happened. Maggie laughs and says that it seems nothing ever gets by her. Alice laughs and says she knows her family and she can tell when something is wrong.

    Maggie knows Victor is going about everything the wrong way but she understands what he is trying to do. He wants to protect his family and loved ones and wants revenge. She wants the same thing for Mickey's death. Alice asks if that is partly why Maggie is justifying what Victor is doing in her mind. Maggie thinks that could be it. She sees everyone, including Caroline, turning against Victor because of what he has done to Bo and everyone else but she can't. He has helped her get through so much and she cares about him. Alice asks just how much does she care for him.

    Maggie says they are close friends. Alice reminds Maggie that she has followed Victor into some dangerous situations, including Sydney and the shootout on New Year's. Alice says she has seen the way Maggie looks at Victor and she believes this could be something that goes well beyond friendship. Maggie denies that notion but Alice notes that Maggie may not realize just how strong her feelings for Victor have become. Maggie looks at Alice, wondering if she may be right.

    -At the hospital, Kate is with Lucas. She tells him about Chelsea knowing about her condition and about Austin thinking he saw Carrie. Lucas doesn't buy that as Carrie would make herself known to them all. She is too caring a person to lurk around and then run away when someone she cares about saw her. Kate agrees and thinks Austin thought he saw her in the heat of the moment or something.

    Sami arrives with Will and asks how Lucas is feeling. Lucas embraces Will and says he is fine and will be ok in no time. He does have something he wants to tell them all. Lucas admits that his being shot made him realize what he was doing to all of them. He wants to protect them but he also doesn't want them worried sick or to suffer thinking about him involved in shootouts and dangerous operations that he really has no business being in. He has decided that he will no longer be a part of Victor's operation. He will find some other way to settle the Carrie situation and get her back here.

    Austin is just about to walk in when he overhears. He bursts in, furious with Lucas. He reminds Lucas that he is the reason they both got involved in Victor's organization and, if he thinks it will be that easy to just up and quit, he has another thing coming. Lucas says he wants things to go back to normal. He wants to be with his son and family. He just now realizes his place is with Sami and he doesn't want to lose all that. Kate rolls her eyes as Sami and Will both smile.

    Doug and Julie both arrive and embrace Lucas, happy he is ok. Lucas fills them both in on what is going on. Austin asks about Carrie. Lucas says they will just have to find another way. He wants her and his child back but not at the risk of his life and the risk of destroying his family's lives and futures. Austin understands but warns it may not be easy to break away from Victor, especially with Lucas still working at Titan. Lucas understands but says he can soften Victor by offering to aid him in any way via his job at Titan. He can do some legwork or take care of the company or something while Victor focuses on other things. Austin thinks that may work.

    Kate asks Austin if that means he will be ending his involvement with Victor too. Austin says if Lucas is, he may as well do so too. Kate embraces him, very pleased. Sami does the same and only wishes Uncle Bo would've quit too before it was too late.

    -Kimberly and Kayla are talking outside Steve's room. Kimberly still can't understand what is going on with Bo. Kayla admits that she can't either. Kayla notes how hard things are for the family right now with Bo on the run, Roman shot, Chelsea being hospitalized, and what is happening to Steve. Just when things were finally better after what happened with Eric, all this happens. Kimberly comforts her and asks how Steve is doing. Kayla says that all his tests came back fine. He has nothing wrong with his brain or anything else. She is so worried about him and doesn't know what to do.

    Kim says she is doing everything she can and asks if she called Stephanie. Kayla says she won't call her until she knows what they are dealing with and then asks Kim what if what they are doing isn't enough. He has been ill for a few days so clearly something is wrong but the tests so nothing. He can't get any help until they find out what is going on and they may not find out anything until it is too late. Kim embraces her and says they will get through this and that it will all work out.

    -Meanwhile, in Steve's room, Shane is visiting with Steve. Steve knows Kayla is worried about him and admits he is worried too. He doesn't know why he is feeling ill and why he had those headaches and that violent episode he had at the ball. He just had that memory flash of men all around him and he was trying to fight them off but couldn't. Shane wonders if either Lawrence or Stefano did something to him while he was in captivity. Steve thinks that is what he is remembering.

    Steve regrets coming back to Salem from Sydney with Kayla but he had to. She had gotten shot and he couldn't just leace her. He had called both Kayla and Jack by the nicknames he had for them so he thought, like Kayla said, that he was making progress. Having Stephanie back really helped and he felt comfortable, so comfortable that he felt "right" holding Kayla in his arms. Shane says that is good. Steve admits he is afraid of what he might do to Kayla if he has another memory flash and goes crazy like he did again. He asks Shane not to tell Kayla or anyone else what they have discussed, especially the details about the memory flash.

    Shane says that Kayla was right there in the ballroom when he got hysterical so she may already know what is going on. Even if she doesn't, she has a right to know as his wife and as a doctor. She could have Kim, who is a therapist, help too. Steve says no and begs Shane to stay silent, at least for now. Shane reluctantly agrees but makes Steve promise to tell Kayla if he gets worse. Steve agrees. Shane privately wonders if he can keep Steve's secret on top of Carrie's. He worries about how the Brady's will react about his deception.

    -Belle is outside Philip's hospital room, clearly afraid and hesistant to enter. The nurse asks if she is ok as she notices Belle shaking. Belle says she is fine. The nurse says that her husband has been wondering where she was as she has yet to come see him since he was admitted yesterday. Belle says she was just worried about her mother and father and there was just so much going on. The nurse understands and is sure Philip will too. Belle quietly says "don't be so sure." The nurse asks what she said but Belle says it was nothing.

    The nurse adds that Philip will need Belle with his father on the run. Belle smiles and just nods. The nurse leaves as Belle realizes she has to face Philip sooner or later. She is about to enter his room but then becomes hesitant. As she shakes, tears fall from her eyes and she opts to turn back and leave. As she is about to walk away, Philip yells out for her to come in. He says is awake and that he is fine. Belle peers in from behind the door and asks if Philip is mad. He says he isn't and says he knows about what is going on with her family. He understands but he needs her and wants to see her.

    Belle slowly walks over to Philip and smiles. He smiles back and asks how she is. Belle says she is trying to be strong but her mother is acting weird and they all think she is still not right. Her father is in ICU and her Uncle Steve is ill. Philip assures her it will be fine. Belle says he must be relieved about Lucas and Austin being ok. Philip nods and says it would've been nice if his wife was with him and there for him during all this. He needs her now with his father on the run. Belle apologizes and says she knows but her family needs her too.

    A nurse then comes in and says that her grandma Caroline is looking for her. Belle thanks the nurse and says she is on her way. Belle tells Philip she must go but assures him she will be back soon. Just as Belle is about to walk away, Philip grabs her arm hard. Belle tells Philip he is hurting her but he becomes enraged and says:

    Philip: You go where I say you go. You do what I say you do...you...[!@#$%^&*]. Is that understood?

    Belle throws Philip's hand off of her and tells him to go to tell. She then walks out. Philip throws a vase at the wall. The nurse races in and asks if he is fine. He says he is and it was just an accident. His wife moved the vase and his leg must have knocked it off the tray table. The nurse goes to get something to clean it up as Philip says:

    Philip: You will pay for this, Belle. I warned you to obey my rules...MY ORDERS!! Your beloved family and friends have been far too suspicious of our situation and I don't like that and...now...you leave me...after not coming to see me since I've been here. You will pay for your disobediance my precious Belle. Mark my words YOU WILL PAY...

    The screen then fades out on Philip's sinister grin.

    On the Next Salem Lives...

    Alice to Maggie: Folllow your heart, dear.
    Maggie to Alice: Even if that leads me to Victor?
    Caroline to Belle and Hope: I am mad as hell and have had enough!!!
    Kayla to Roman: So, how long do we keep up this charade?
    Roman to Kayla: Long enough to accomplish what we need to.
    Victor to Bo: We both need to get out of here now.
    Bo to Victor: I'm not so sure.

    -In an older neighborhood on the lower east side of Salem, James walks up to a small, run down home. He stoicly stares at it before entering by using a key. He walks in quietly and we see that the home is dimly lit with aging walls. James walks down the small hallway and into the kitchen, where middle-aged woman is standing over an oven. James asks the woman if he heard her come in and she doesn't respond.

    James: Oh come on, Renee. The silent treatment again? You know what...if I knew you were going to be like this all the time, I would've did something to put my ass back in prison again!!
    Renee: Oh, yes!!! Because you being in jail for over ten years wasn't enough!!! I'm sorry if you don't like how things are but I'm tired. I'm just really tired!!!
    James: I know and I know life is tough. Look...I am doing my best. I promised you and the kids that I would work hard this time to provide a better life.
    Renee: I hope by work hard you mean actually work and not steal and pillage like you did before?
    James: Of course. I told you I have a new job. Remember? I'm working for Victor Kiriakis.
    Renee: Yes, I know. But Victor is very shady. Caroline Brady told me alot about him at church. She would know, afterall, since she had an affair with him. I just worry about what you are doing for him. He has this mafia war going on with Stefano Dimera and I don't need you being involved in that.
    James: Renee, I can assure you that what I am doing is not putting me or our family in any danger. Everything I am doing is legit and there is nothing shady about it.
    Renee: Then why don't you tell me what you do? I have been asking you for a few days now and your answer always is the same. You claim you are a runner and that you run errands and handy man's work. Can't you be more specific?
    James: Not really. What I do depends on what Mr. Kiriakis requests of me. One day it can be going to drop a message off for him and the next it could be fix the chandelier. It can be almost anything. Can't you just trust me?
    Renee: That's awfully hard to do when the last time I did that you lied to my face for months and ended up locked away for more then a decade.
    James: I'm sorry Ren...

    At that moment, two young men and a beautiful young woman walk in through the back door in the kitchen. The oldest, James Jr, is joking around with the middle child of the family Jonathan. The young woman, Angelica who is called "Angel," runs past them and hugs her father. She is clearly the apple of her daddy's eye.

    James: Hello, my darling Angel. How was school?
    Angel: Oh, awesome daddy. I met this cute guy who...
    James Jr: Better not tell dad about guys. You don't want to start trouble.
    Jonathan: Why? There was already trouble before we walked in.
    James Jr: What do you mean?
    Jonathan: You can tell mom and dad were fighting. Mom has that same look she has on her face when she is mad and dad has that look on his face when mom is yelling at him and he doesn't want any of us to know.
    Renee: Look, guys it's ok. Your father and I had a minor disagreement. It's fine. Jon, how was school?
    Jonathan: Good. Typical school, mom. I can't wait to graduate in June.
    Angel: Yeah, well at least you graduate this year. I still have a year to go.
    James Jr: Hey, guys. College life is not what it's cracked up to be. Beleive me, I know. I went through it. It's alot of work and then they send you out into the real world. What's coming up for you both isn't easy, believe me.
    Jonathan: Yeah but it has to be better then high school. At least you get some breaks during the day and longer summer vacation.
    James Jr (laughing): Yeah but there is a con for every pro, bro.
    Angel: Hey, Jon, I need you to sit down and do that interview with me for the Salem High Herald. Since you were the all-time school record holder as a running back and are our star small forward on the basketball team, it may take awhile to write it up so we should start tonight.
    Jonathan: Well, I have to call Tim first and then we can do it.
    Angel: Ok. I have to call Ms. Lindsey and find out what day we are having the extra cheerleading practice this week so that's fine.

    Angel and Jonathan walk out of the room.

    Renee: Dinner will be ready soon so don't get too busy!!
    James Jr: Are you sure everything is cool here?
    James: Fine, son. Nothing to worry about. How was work today?
    James Jr: Well, being an intern at The Spectator is hard but I am getting used to it. There is some changes happening at the top. The editor is leaving or something so things are a mess but it should settle soon.
    Renee: I am so proud of you. I know the internship doesn't pay a whole lot right now but you will work your way up.
    James Jr: Yeah and I like what I am doing.
    James: That's all that matters, son.
    James Jr: Thanks dad. You know, you inspire me. I mean, here you are rebuilding your life after you have been through so much. You are turning your life around and I just want to say that I am proud of you. Heck, Angel and Jon are too and I am sure mom is as well. It was hard when you weren't here for us but visiting you in jail I knew you were great. You just made some mistakes and paid for them and you are really working hard to better yourself.
    James (clearly upset): Yeah. Thanks...uh, I am doing this for you and your brother and sister too. and your mom. I love you all...everything I ever did was for all of you. (Renee coldly turns and stares at James)
    James Jr: I know, dad. That is why I hope I can be half the man you are. Well, gotta shower. Be back down soon.

    James Jr leaves. Renee comes over and gets right in James' face.

    Renee: Half the man you are? I am warning you, James. You better not screw up again or it just may tear this whole family apart.
    James: I won't. Like I said, everything I do is for our family. I have learned from the past. Don't worry.
    Renee: God, I hope you are being honest and sincere...for all of our sakes.

    Renee goes back to cooking as James turns away in shame, knowing full well what he is involved in and that he is once again lying to his family.

    -At the hospital, Marlena continues her attack on Roman. Roman tries to life the pillow up using his head but can't. He is desperate for air.

    Marlena (whispering): Stop fighting, honey. You can't fight it when it's your time to die...

    Roman is clearly gasping for air and Marlena continues to forcefully hold the pillow over Roman's face. Meanwhile, outside, Belle and Kayla are nearby. Both are worried about the situation in the warehouse district as they have yet to hear anything yet from Abe and Shane.

    Back in Roman's room, Marlena begins to quietly snicker as she feels that Roman is slowly giving up. Just then, she looks over at Roman's nightstand and sees something in an open drawer. She is clearly unsettled by it and stops moving. She leans closer to the drawer and her face turns from one of anger and evil to one of upset and heartbreak. The drawer contains Roman's open wallet and the wallet is showing a picture of Roman and Marlena with Sami and Eric when they were first born.

    Marlena begins to cry and then holds her head in confusion. Meanwhile, Kayla looks at Roman's room and sees Marlena in there. She runs in, with Belle behind her. They find Marlena in there. Kayla tells Belle to get her out of the room, reminding her of the infection risk. Kayla rushes to Roman, who is unconscious. He, eventually, comes to and asks what happened. Kayla says she isn't sure but his vitals show signs of someone who was nearly smothered. Roman remembers being attacked and having someone try to smother him with a pillow.

    Kayla says that Marlena was in here and was very upset but she would never do that. Kayla remembers being with Hope, Caroline, and Maggie earlier and seeing Marlena go off on Sami and Belle. Roman says that Marlena has been acting strangely lately and reminds Kayla that Belle knocked her out at the ball because she seemed to be aiming a gun at him. Kayla asks Roman if he thinks that Marlena has mental issues similar to what she had before falling into the volcano. Roman isn't sure but thinks they need to talk to her.

    Kayla reminds him that he can't because it would blow his cover. Roman asks Kayla to talk to her and see if something is going on. Kayla says she will try and see what she can find out.

    -Belle comforts Marlena and asks what she was doing. No one can go in dad's room due to the infection risk. Marlena is visibly upset and is a wreck, saying she is so confused. Belle asks her what she is confused about.

    Marlena: Why am I here? What's going on?
    Belle: Mom...are you ok? Do you want me to...
    Marlena: Wh...why? Your father...what was I doing? Oh my Gosh!!! Oh my..
    Belle: Mom! What is going on? Something is not right.
    Marlena: No...I would never...
    Belle: Ok...that's it. You have been acting weird since coming back. Your snapping at Sami and I all the time, you looked like you were aiming a gun at dad at the ball and I had to knock you out, you showed no concern at all for dad or anyone else after the shootout, you disappear alot, and you seem like you are keeping secrets from us. What is going on?!
    Marlena: Huh? I...uh, I did all that? No...I don't remember...(holding her head and chest) oh...gosh...I have to get out of here...have to...leave.

    Marlena gets up and runs off hyperventilating and in tears as Belle starts to go after her and loses her in a hallway. Kayla catches up and Belle tells her that something is really wrong with her mom. Kayla explains what Roman told her and says that they need to find her mother and find out what is going on ASAP.

    -Outside of warehouse 9, Bo seems frazzled by the explosion. Hope sees he is bleeding and tells him he is hurt. Bo then has a blurred memory of being in an alley just like he is now as a little boy. He is crying for help and for Roman, Kimberly, or mom and pop to come and help him. Bo shakes off the dream and then asks out loud why he keeps having flashes like that. Hope asks what he is talking about. Bo then says that he had thought they had stopped as he hasn't had one in awhile. Hope is puzzled and Bo continues to not answer her about what he is talking about.

    Bo sees all the police, ISA, and SWAT team officials around. He regains his composure and tells Hope they need to go. He grabs her and they run off.

    -Abe and Shane continue to investigate the explosion. Maggie is hysterical and falls to her knees. Shane comes over to comfort her. Caroline looks at the explosion site and says:

    Caroline: I hope that cold-hearted bastard burns in hell.
    Maggie (crying): How could you say that? You loved him!!! You had a son with him!! You had an affair with him two years ago!! Don't you feel anything right now?!
    Shane: Maggie, calm down. Let's sit...
    Caroline: If the man that died was the same man I cared about for years, yes. Yes, I would feel devestated over losing him. The man that died here today was not the Victor I loved. It was the Victor who forced my son to shoot his own brother. It was the Victor who was destroying my family and was part of a mafia war that was endangering all of us. The Victor I cared about died a long time ago. I'm sorry for your pain, Maggie. Even though I can't understand it, you really grew to care about him over the past few months and I'm sorry for your loss.
    Maggie: I can't beleive you!!! What is wrong with you?!!
    Caroline: Nothing. In fact, I feel really good. Salem is safer and so are the people I love. You may be upset but this is really a good thing. I know you won't see it as that but...
    Maggie: You [!@#$%^&*]!!!

    Maggie hauls back and slaps Caroline. Shane and Abe hold her back.

    Maggie: You will pay for saying all that!! You...your the reason he is dead. Your had us at gunpoint. He could've gotten away if it weren't for you. He's dead because of you!!! I'm going to make you pay!!!

    Abe and Shane hold Maggie back.

    Caroline: The same could be said for you. You were here before me. If you never showed up, he may have still escaped.
    Maggie: No...I...
    Caroline: Look...Maggie. Victor brought this all on himself ok. He made his bed now he has to lie in it.

    Maggie then breaks down in Abe and Shane's arms as Caroline walks away.

    Maggie: Victor!! Abe, are you sure he was in there?
    Abe: A few of my men say they saw him get in the limo that exploded. The other limo is long gone but once we start examining the remains we should get more answers.
    Maggie: So...he still could be alive?
    Shane: Maggie...darling, we aren't sure but we have some officers saying he got in the limo. No one jumped out of it so, if he was in it, Victor is gone.
    Maggie: But, he may not have been in...
    Abe: Maggie...it looks like he was. Don't get your hopes up, ok?

    Abe walks away as Maggie breaks down in Shane's arms, saying that Victor can't be gone and that she refuses to beleive it. Meanwhile, Caroline looks at the explosion remains and says:

    Caroline: I hope you are burning in hell for the way you betrayed me and for all the horrors you brought upon my family. We are much better off without you. Too bad too much damage has already been done. Our lives...my family may never be the same or whole again because of you. Stefano has caused us alot of pain but he has never destroyed who we are. You destroyed Bo. You destroyed our son and, for that, I hope you find no peace in the afterlife. I hope you suffer just as much as you have made my family and I suffer.

    Abe, Shane, and Maggie hear all this as Maggie continues to cry in Shane's arms.

    -Bo and Hope enter another warehouse. Hope tells Bo that they can't run. She asks him why they can't just go down to the station and have him admit what is going on. Bo says he wants to talk to her and no one else. Not right now. Hope is fine with it but demands Bo tell her everything that is going on. This is his last chance or they are through for good.

    She reminds him that she thought they understood each other. She had admitted she was wrong for pushing him away. She dropped the charges against Chelsea and they both were well on their way to healing after months of agonizing over Zack's death and the circumstances surrounding it. After he nearly died in Sydney, she thought he was turning around and realizing that being involved with Victor was wrong. They had a wonderful Christmas together with JT returning. They were on the way to being happy again. She asks him what happened and why he has become what he is.

    Hope: How could you try to kill your own brother? That boggles my mind, Bo.
    Bo: Hope...there is alot I have to tell you.

    Just then, Bo has another memory flash. This time he is in a dark room as a little boy and has a frightened look on his face. The memory is blurred and the very deep voice of a man can be heard:

    Man: It's ok, Bo. I promise you, it's ok.
    Bo: I don't like you. Go away! Please...go away.

    The scene returns to the present and Bo begins to cry himself. He clutches his head and seems to be getting caught up in the memory. He began to cry out for help. Hope tries to calm him but he screams out for help. Abe, Shane, Maggie, and Caroline hear the screams nearby. The four of then take off, along with some of the officers that Abe commands to go with them.

    Hope tries to reach Bo but can't. He begins to wail his arms, knocking Hope to the floor, and screaming:

    Bo: Don't!!! No!!!

    Bo then falls against a wall and slowly drops to the ground, unconscious. Hope races to him as Maggie, Shane, Abe, and Caroline walk in and race over to her. Hopef fills tells them all in on what happened and says also that Bo hit his head when they fell to the ground during the explosion. Abe asks one of the officers that followed to get some EMT's fast as Hope and Caroline cradle Bo in their arms, wondering what is going on with him.

    The screen then fades out on Bo's unconscious face.

    On the next Salem Lives...

    Max (with Jack) to Abby: You going to be fine.
    Chelsea (with Billie and Kate): He's right, Abby. We are both going to be.
    Cassie to Dr. Glancy: I want the truth. What is wrong with me?
    Maggie to Julie: Caroline is right...I killed Victor.
    Hope (with Caroline) to Kayla: What is wrong with him? What's wrong with Bo?
    Kimberly: Oh my God...this can't be. I can't let this happen. Bo can't know. He can't.

    -At the hospital, Abby is being prepped to be taken down to physical therapy. The nurse tells her that Chelsea will also be down there at the same time so they can get through it together. This makes Abby feel better. Jack, Doug, and Julie all assure her that she will do fine. Alice, who is sitting on a chair, tells Abby to be strong and reminds her that she is a Horton woman and Horton women are fighters. Julie reiterates that claim .

    Alice also tells Abby that her great grandfather Tom and her mother are watching over her. Abby's eyes tear up as she nods and says she knows. Max vows to stand by her and even go down with her but Abby shakes her head. She is determined to do it on her own and he would only distract her. Plus, it may be uncomfortable with Chelsea down there.

    Max says he is confident she can do it and will be waiting for her to get back to her room. Abby asks him what happens if she doesn't do well and never walks again. Max reminds her of his vow to always be by her side and says he doesn't plan on breaking that-walking or no walking.

    Meanwhile, in Chelsea's room, Kate and Billie try to give her a pep talk prior to her therapy. They both tell her she will do great. Chelsea asks what will happen if her arm doesn't get better. Billie says they will deal with it and assures her she can still lead a happy and full life. Both Billie and Kate hug a crying Chelsea and remind her that Abby will be going through the same thing with her, maybe worst as she can't walk, and that both girls will be side by side going through this together.

    Chelsea nods and says she wants to turn her life around and change but, if her arm doesn't get better, it will be very hard for her to deal with. It's hard to change your life when everything in your life always seems to go wrong. Billie and Kate tell her to just wait and see how things go. They wheel her into Abby's room.

    -Meanwhile, in another part of the hospital, Cassie is in a exam room waiting for her test results. All sorts of thoughts race through her mind. She wonders if it's cancer or something else along those lines. Dr. Glancy then enters, telling her he has her results and to relax.

    Cassie begs him to just tell her what is wrong, if anything. He tells her that she is in perfect health, which is good news considering what the tests found. Cassie is confused and asks what they found. Dr. Glancy says that the tests showed that she is pregnant and is three months along. He congratulates her. Cassie is stunned and remains silent as Dr. Glancy explains to her that she needs to make appointments with the OB-GYN and what else she needs to do given her condition.

    Dr. Glancy asks if she is ok. Cassie explains that she never thought she would have a baby, let alone this soon. The way she grew up and the way her life is now, it just seems surreal. Dr. Glancy asks if Cassie plans to go through the pregnancy. Cassie turns and then has a flashbacks of making love to Max back in October. Cassie smiles and turns to Dr. Glancy, saying she will definitely go through with the pregnancy. She is a little stunned but it may be the best thing that has ever happened to her.

    -In the ER, Bo is raced into a cubicle. Kayla and Belle come running in, saying they got Shane's call. Abe and Caroline fill them in on what's happened. Kayla goes into Bo's cubicle to find out what is going on. Hope is distraught, wondering what is going on with him. Shane comes over to tell everyone that Frankie is bringing Kimberly over.

    Kayla returns from the cubicle, saying that Bo's blood pressure and heart rate is sky high. Something is clearly upsetting him. Hope fills everyone in again on what happened after they left the explosion scene. Kayla notes that it's similar to what Steve is going through, almost like he is caught in his painful memories. Hope remembers that Bo kept saying after the explosion something about "what do they mean" and "I thought they were gone." Kayla thinks that may be referring to some sort of memories.

    Hope wonders what the memories could be. Bo has no secret unknown past. Shane mentions his being in the merchant marines so maybe something happened there and he was so traumatized he blocked it out. Hope doesn't think so but admits anything is possible. Caroline mentions Zack's death but Hope says that it was like Bo was trying to fight someone off so it wouldn't make sense.

    Caroline wonders if Victor may have brainwashed Bo. That would explain his actions, especially towards Roman. Hope's eyes light up, thinking that could be something. Kayla reminds them that brainwashing is Stefano's specialty. Caroline says that Victor has the means and may have taken a page from the Dimera handbook to take them out. Maggie overhears and verbally attacks Caroline for accusing Victor of brainwashing his own son.

    Belle and Abe hold her back. Caroline looks at her and just turns back to Hope and Kayla. Belle tries to comfort Maggie but she is inconsolable over Victor's death. She asks Abe if anything has been reported from the crash site. Abe shakes his head.

    -In the east wing of the hospital, Austin enters Lucas's room. He asks Lucas why he called to see him. Lucas says they need to talk about Carrie. Lucas tells him to sit down, which Austin does. Lucas explains to Austin that he always idolized Carrie as his dream girl. That and the fact that he always felt inferior to Austin and bagging Austin's girl would make him feel good is partly why he wanted Carrie. He admits he cared about her and always will but he diluted himself into thinking it was love.

    He tells Austin that what he had with Carrie wasn't love but lust. It was something he wanted for selfish reasons. He wanted to compete with his brother, the brother that he was jealous of. Carrie was like a trophy and, after Sami hurt him and Austin hurt her, they found comfort in each other so being together made them feel good. It was nothing more then that and it was nothing compared to how he feels for Sami. He was stupid to ever think he could love anyone else when he knew the truth all along in his heart.

    Austin says he always felt like he belonged with Carrie and Lucas belonged with Sami. Lucas says he knows and only wishes he learned sooner. Austin tells Lucas he has nothing to worry about. Sami and him aren't really involved since they all learned what she did to Carrie through Lexie. he has forgiven her, like everyone has, but they never picked up their relationship. Lucas says good and then laughs, as he says it's good to know he won't have to fight him for Sami like he did Carrie.

    Luxas tells Austin that he still plans to be a father to his and Carrie's baby and also gives Austin his blessing to be with Carrie if and when she returns or they find her. Austin thanks Lucas and they shake hands. Sami then knocks and both men ask if she heard their exchange. Sami nods, saying she is glad things are being ironed out. She asks if she can speak to Austin for a minute. Lucas is fine with it, saying he wants some quiet time anyway. Sami laughs as she walks out with Austin.

    -A nurse comes up to Abby's room, saying they are ready for her. Billie and Kate wheel Chelsea in with another nurse. Chelsea says it seems they are ready for her too. Abby looks at Chelsea and tells her that it seems they are doing yet another thing together. Chelsea laughs and says that everyone always tells them they are inseparable and going through physical therapy together will only prove that. They both laugh.

    Jack and Max give Abby a kiss and assure he she will be fine. Alice, Doug, and Julie wish her well. Alice holds her hand as she is wheeled away in a wheelchair. Billie and Kate wish Abby well too. Max takes a moment to wish Chelsea well. She thanks him and is wheeled away with Abby. Max tells Jack he hopes it goes well. He doesn't think Abby can deal with never walking again.

    Meanwhile, Cassie is watching Max talking to Jack from nearby. She has been looking for weeks for something to help her get Max away from Abby and now she has it. She is carrying his child and she vows to make sure this baby tears Abby and Max apart.

    Belle comes into Abby's room. She tells Alice, Doug, Julie, Jack, Billie, Max, and Kate about what is going on with Bo. They all bolt for the ER as Doug tells Julie he will bring Alice slowly behind them.

    -Outside Lucas's room, Austin asks Sami what she wants to discuss. Sami says she overheard everything in there and Lucas giving him his blessing to be with Carrie. Sami explains that there is something she has known for some time but never told him she knew. She thinks it's time she told him.

    Sami admits to Austin she knows he slept with Carrie and could be the baby's father. She admits she has known since September when they were out near Green Mountain looking for Carrie. Austin asks why she didn't say something. Sami says there was so much going on and it wasn't her place. She didn't want anyone to get hurt. She tells Austin that things are finally getting settled and that now may be the time for Lucas to learn the truth.

    Even with Carrie gone, everything else is out in the open. Sami tells Austin that it's well past time for Lucas to know. If they all want to move on, it's time the truth come out. Austin agrees and says they can't wait for Carrie to come home. In fact, it may be better having this settled now so, if and when she returns, she won't have to deal with it as much. Sami agrees and tells Austin that he should be the one to tell Lucas and that he should do it when Lucas is released to go home.

    Austin agrees but asks why him. Sami says it will be better coming from him. She knows he will be mad that she kept this from him and that he and Carrie did too. She just hopes he can forgive all of them so they can move on. Austin smiles and is in awe of how much Sami has changed. He comments on how the old Sami would've used this somehow to get what she wants or switched paternity tests or something.

    Sami smiles and vows those days are done. She just wants to move on and hopes Lucas will forgive all of them for hiding this secret so they can get on with their lives. She just wants to be a family with Lucas and Will. Austin says he just wants to resolve all this and for Carrie to return so they can be happy. Sami hopes that happens for him and that all four of them find happiness...this time forever.

    -Abe has a call at the nurses station and goes to take it. Frankie wheels Kimberly in and Hope and Caroline fill both of them in on what is happening. Abe returns to all of them and says one of his officers at the explosion site found a very small burnt piece of Victor's passport near the remains. They know it's his because they say the letters "Kir" where the last name would normally be. They can't make out the rest.

    Abe says it seems Victor is really dead. Maggie breaks down and runs off just as Belle, Julie, Billie, Jack, Kate, and Max walk into the ER. Julie says she will go after her and asks Belle to tell Doug and Alice where she is. Shane and Abe fill Billie and the others in on what is happening.

    Julie stops Maggie right before she walks out of the hospital exit. Maggie breaks down in Julie arms, still in disbelief that Victor is gone. She then has a flashback to something Caroline said to her:

    Maggie: You will pay for saying all that!! You...your the reason he is dead. Your had us at gunpoint. He could've gotten away if it weren't for you. He's dead because of you!!! I'm going to make you pay!!!

    Abe and Shane hold Maggie back.

    Caroline: The same could be said for you. You were here before me. If you never showed up, he may have still escaped.
    Maggie: No...I...
    Caroline: Look...Maggie. Victor brought this all on himself ok. He made his bed now he has to lie in it.

    As the flashbacks ends, Maggie begins to crumble in Julie's arms, saying:

    Maggie: I did this. Oh my God...I'm the reason Victor is dead. I stalled him, Julie. Caroline did too but he may have been gone before she got there if I never showed.
    Julie: You don't...
    Maggie: Oh my God!!! I did it...I killed Victor. He's dead because of me.

    Julie comforts a devestated Maggie as the scene then fades back to....

    Caroline as she turns to Hope and says at least they don't have to worry about Victor anymore. Hope nods. Kayla then asks what if Victor did brainwash Bo or do something to him to cause what happened. Even with Victor gone, they will all have to deal with the aftermath. Hope and Caroline both look at each other, terrified.

    Meanwhile, Kimberly wheels herself over near Bo's cubicle. She asks a nurse if she can go in and see her brother. The nurse says it's fine as she was about to tell everyone that Bo can have visitors anyway. Kim thanks her and wheels over to Bo. She hears him mumbling:

    Bo: No...please...stay away. I don't like you...don't like you. NO!!

    Kim's face looks worried. She then turns around and is very upset, saying:

    Kimberly: Oh my God...this can't be. I can't let this happen. Bo can't know. He can't.

    She then turns back to Bo as the screen fades out on a split-screen of Kimberly and Bo.

    On the next Salem Lives...

    James to Renee: What the hell is your problem?
    Renee to James: You!! Your lying to me. I can tell and I want the truth!!
    Chelsea to Abby: I'm not sure we can do this.
    Abby to Chelsea: We have to...if we want to have normal lives.
    Cassie to Abby and Chelsea: Oh, look at you two. Don't worry...I'm sure there are guys that will feel sorry for two cripples like you.
    Maggie to Julie: I lost Mickey and now I lost Victor. Their blood is on my hands, Julie, and I deserve to be punished.
    Kimberly: I need to see Roman...he will know what to do about Bo.

    -At University Hospital, Greta bumps into Eric in the hallway. She is thrilled to see he is finally being released. She says she was just about to come and see him as she was just coming from checking on Bo. Eric asks how his uncle is doing. Greta tells him that he had another violent outburst but they managed to calm him. They still don't know what is causing it but it is having a bad effect on his heart rate and blood pressure.

    Eric hates that his family and friends have been through so much. Greta comforts him with the fact that he is doing well and his loved ones have that to be grateful for. Greta asks where Nicole is. She figured she would be right by his side. Eric says that she had a meeting to go to but isn't sure if he should discuss what it's about since it's personal for her. Greta understands.

    She tells Eric she is happy he is feeling better and to call if he needs anything. She would like to get a cup of coffee or something with him. He says he will call her and they embrace before she leaves. Eric then is told he has a phone call at the nurses station and he goes to take it

    Later, as Eric gets off the phone, Nicole appears behind him. Eric sees that she looks upset about something and asks if she is ok. Nicole changes the subject and asks if he is ok. Eric tells her that he was given instructions to just take it easy and call if he has any severe headaches but, other then that, he is good to go to leave the hospital. He is more worried about her, though.

    Nicole says she is fine and doesn't think she can talk about it right now. Eric tells her he just got a phone call and it's good news. Nicole seems bothered by that and finally comes out saying she has bad news. Eric says his news can wait and tells Nicole to tell him what happened.

    Nicole turns away, as she fight backs tears. She tells Eric that she was told that she is not a candidate for in-vitro. Eric tells her that it's ok. They can always look into adoption. Nicole says she wanted to carry his child and wanted it to be a part of both of them. She blames Sami for this as she would've still been able to have children if not for her. Eric reminds Nicole of her promise not to go there. Nicole apologizes as Eric assures her he is just as happy adopting as many children as she wishes. They can start right away on looking into it. She smiles and asks if he is sure. He nods and says it's fine.

    She asks what his news is. He doesn't know if it's a good time, given how hard of a day she has had. She insists he tell her. Eric explains that Kate was who he was talking to at the nurses station. Since his father is no longer John Black, he gave the rights to Basic Black to Kate and she has combined it with what was Austin Reed & Co to form Roberts & Associates. She was looking to hire a new photography team and she asked him to come aboard, remembering how good he was at Titan. He says he accepted the job and starts in a few days.

    Nicole turns away, seemingly upset by the news. Eric asks if she is ok. Nicole puts up a front and says she is. Eric notes how she has hard a time searching for employment while he was still in the hospital. He just hopes it doesn't bother her since she gave up Highstyle for him. He still feels awful about that. Nicole assures him it's fine and that she will find something, eventually. It will all work out. Eric smiles and says things are coming together for them finally. He just hopes things get better for their loved ones too. They embrace but, unbeknowst to Eric, Nicole still seems secretly upset by Eric's news.

    -Greta bumps into Frankie in another part of the hospital. He tells her that Bo is more relaxed now and that the doctors managed to sedate him after his latest outburst. They have no idea what is causing it. He wonders if Victor did mess with his head somehow. Greta says she hopes not and then turns away, while seeming a bit distracted. Frankie makes a comment that Greta seems lost in her own world a bit.

    Greta apologizes. She has been thinking alot lately about the future. Eric is getting better and beginning his life with Nicole and so many of the people she cares about are going through hell right now. She really wishes she could do something more to help. Frankie says she is helping by just being there for them. She smiles but then adds that she spent so much time since coming back to Salem on helping Eric with his illness that she had no life of her own. She barely does anything as Princess except for write a few things here and there and fly to Paris for an event once in awhile.

    Greta says she just isn't doing anything fulfilling. She wants to help people and be more active. She has so much money and she already volunteers and gives alot to charity. Frankie makes the suggestion of her forming her own business or something along those lines. Greta says she thought about that but knows nothing of business. She wants to be involved in something where she can influence people and give people who feel they have no voice a chance to be heard. She wants to help people and have an impact.

    Frankie's eyes widen as he seems to be remembering something. He says he has an idea. A friend of his told him about something earlier. Frankie smiles and tells Greta he thinks she will be very interested in what his friend told him. Greta is curious and asks what it is. Frankie assures her she will love it and this may be the opportunity she is looking for.

    -Kayla is on her way to Steve's room to check on him when she passes Shane. He says he is on his way up to check in with Roman. He asks how Bo is. Kayla says they calmed him but they still have no idea what is going on in his head. She hopes they get answers when he wakes up. Everyone keeps suggesting brainwashing but, she tells Shane they know that's not the case as Bo has been a part of the this secret operation with Roman, Shane, Abe, and the ISA. Shane tells her they will find out what is going on and will find a way to help Bo.

    Shane leaves as Kayla enters Steve's room. Steve is lying in a deep sleep. Kayla sits down at his bedside and says she is here for him and isn't going anywhere. She assures him they will get through this.

    Meanwhile, Steve begins to have another memory flash of being rushed through a dark tunnel with men in white around him. He is on a gurney. Eventually, the gurney is rolled into a small room where one of the men pulls out a syringe and the rest hold him down as he begins to stuggle to get off the table. His arms and legs are in restraints as he tries to pull free:

    Steve: Let me go!!! STOP!!! NO!! I WON'T LET YO...WON'T LET YOU!!

    The scene then shifts back to real time as Steve begins to lose it. He wails his arms at Kayla, sending her to the floor and begins to shake and move all over the place. Kayla calls for help and two male nurses come in and restrain him. Kayla gets a nurse to sedate him as she cresses his forehead, saying it will all be ok. She is here for him, just like he always was there for her in the past. Kayla notes how similar this is to Bo's condition and wonders if Steve is struggling with bad memories from his past or from his time when they thought he was "dead."

    Steve opens his eyes a bit and looks at Kayla. His eyes are one of a person in deep pain and struggling to keep themself together:

    Steve: Kayla...what is wrong with me?
    Kayla: I don't know...but we'll help you. I''ll help you. I promise.
    Steve: I don't want...you to get hurt.
    Kayla: I won't. Nothing could keep me away from you. No matter what the risk. I love you. I'm not going anywhere. I promise.

    -Shane enters Roman's ICU room. Roman asks how Bo is. Shane says not good, something is really troubling him. Shane tells Roman that Caroline and others think it could be Victor brainwashing him but, that can't be the case. They know it can't be as Bo was in league with them on the ISA operation. Roman agrees and is worried about his brother.

    Shane tells Roman that it may be time for his family to learn the truth. They are going through hell and, the minute Bo is well enough, Abe will be pressured to arrest him. The mayor really wants to end the mafia violence in Salem and Bo was believed to be a part of it by the public. They need Bo on the outside to help them, not in jail. Roman agrees but worries that Victor could still be alive and Stefano and Ernesto are still out there.

    Shane reminds Roman of the new threat-the MCF. That person is even more dangerous as they have no clue who they are and what they want. Roman agrees and says it is time to tell his loved ones everything. They will just need to find a way to make things work. They can't keep the people he loves in the dark any longer. Plus, he is really worried about his wife and her actions of late. He tells Shane to start gathering his loved ones and to tell them to come to his room. He is going to tell them everything tonight.

    -Sami and Belle are in the hospital cafeteria. They sit down to take a break and get a bite to eat after checking on their uncles Bo and Steve and getting an update on Roman. They have also been searching for Marlena. Belle reminds Sami that it's become clear now that their mother is sick. They need to find her soon so they can help her before it's too late.

    Sami says she still can't beleive what happened in their father's room. Belle says it was like she completely forgot the times she snapped at them and what happened at the New Year's Ball and everything after that. Sami wonders if she has something just like their late Aunt Samantha. Sami says she remembers thinking that before their mother fell into the volcano and was presumed dead. She was acting really crazy at that time and now it seems like she is trying to keep it a secret.

    Belle disagrees and says she thinks their mother has no clue what is going on. The way she acted in that room was strange. Belle says that she and Aunt Kayla believed mom was trying to kill dad, just like when she aimed the gun at him at the ball before she knocked him out. Belle tells Sami that when she entered, mom just seemed different. It was not the same person who snapped at them. She was vulnerable and was showing remorse. She was acting like their real mother and couldn't beleive it hearing what she had done of late. Belle reiterates that they need to find her or whatever is wrong with her may get worse.

    -On the pier, Marlena is walking all alone in the fog. She is an emotional wreck and is still stunned that she would snap at her daughters like she has been. She also can't beleive she would aim a gun at her husband and, the way it seemed, she was trying to kill her husband with that pillow before she regained her senses. She cries out to the skies above, asking what is wrong with her.

    She can't understand why she would do these things and can't even remember doing any of them but trying to smother Roman with a pillow. She only remembers that because she had the pillow in her hand. The last thing she clearly remembers is Roman bringing her home to the Penthouse on Christmas Eve. Everything after that is a blur.

    While Marlena is trying to piece together what is happening to her, someone is watching her. It's the MCF. Marlena gets up from a bench and begins to walk when she turns in the direction of the MCF. She jumps back in shock and starts to run away when the MCF grabs her. The figure holds her tightly, so much that Marlena is saying that the person is hurting her.

    Marlena: What do you want? Please...just let me go.

    The MCF then takes her by the arm and pull her away in the dark shadows of the night as the screen fades out.

    On the Next Salem Lives...

    Roman: It's time to tell you all the truth.
    Maggie: First, Mickey and now Victor. Why? Why is this happening?!!
    Marlena to a bartender: Hit me...and keep em coming.

    ***For those that want to listen to the song with the Sami/Lucas/Will stuff, you will have to find it on your own. Unfortunately, Roman and I were unable to provide a link to it. Our apologies but please enjoy it and feel free to find the song and listen to it during those scenes. It really enhances them.***

    -At the Java Café, Frankie is waiting for Greta, who he had called some time ago. As he sits in a booth looking at the door, he sees a very beautiful woman walk in. Frankie stands and shows gentlemanly courtesy to Greta, who smiles and thanks him for the call before she sits down. She is very excited about the new opportunity she has received, saying that it will be fun. Frankie is happy for her, seeing as they are building a friendship that is starting to become very important to him.

    She feels the same. All of her previous relationships have crashed and burned, she says, and she now feels that this may be different because the two of them are starting off as friends first. Frankie tells her to not get ahead of herself, which causes her to smile and then look down into her lap. He says that with everything the family is going through, on top of this thing with this mystery person who is helping to keep Salem as a battleground, no one is safe.....not friend or family.

    But, Frankie says, enough with the doom and gloom. He gets tired of talking about that. He asks Greta about her new opportunity and, before she can respond, she looks down at her watch and says it’s time for her to split. She gets up and hastily bids Frankie good-bye and rushes out of the Café. Frankie then quietly wishes her good luck and then chuckles before taking another sip of his coffee.

    -At the busy offices of The Spectator, Jack is sitting at his desk typing up another Kiriakis/DiMera mafia war story when someone stands over him and blocks his light. When he remarks that people have shot for doing less in a newsroom, Billie starts laughing saying that he really needs to take a break from all his worries. Jack asks if she is a Cheers fan and she says she used to be before all the bullets, death & destruction descended upon Salem. That’s one of the major reasons why she had decided to open up her own P.I. firm, she says.

    Jack agrees and tells her how happy he is for her. Then he tells her how nervous he is to meet the new editor-in-chief and owner. He types the last of his story and sets it aside for proofreading. When he places it in his basket, James Jr. picks it up, telling him that he is one of the newest interns and that he’ll proofread his article, if that is alright with Jack. Angel, who has came along with him, and Billie laugh at Jack’s demeanor. He stands there looking at the young hotshot and then snatches back his article, telling him that protocol is something he needs to work on.

    J.J apologizes, saying that the day before, he and his sister couldn’t get in to do anything because the new ownership had yet to check everything out and the guards weren’t letting anyone in. Billie tells Jack that he should understand that and Jack turns his head to look at Billie, giving her a glance to stay out of this conversation. Billie smiles, as does Jack, because it is then that she realizes that Jack is giving J.J a hard time. Jack tells him it’s ok......this time. He guesses the new people want to keep a low profile. J.J. & Angel then look at each other before asking for permission to do some work on another computer. Jack grants it and the two run off before Jack can tell J.J. good luck.

    As Billie & Jack look at the siblings go to work, they sit down and activate the computer, looking up information on Victor and his past dealing in Salem and around the world. They hope that they can find anything that may connect their father with Victor.....and what James Sr. may be involved in. What neither of them notices is Billie sneaking up on them to see and hear what they are getting involved in. Jack watches Billie start her detective work and, while he just shakes his head at her, he turns and walks into the offices to wait for the new owner and editor-in-chief.

    J.J. & Angel work feveriously at trying to find any information but then notice someone standing behind them. When they slowly turn to see who it is, they smile at Billie, who is standing there with her hands on her hips. They then tell her what they are doing and when she inquires as to what their last names are, J.J. responds McCluer. Billie then says that she remembers that name from Caroline Brady telling her. Angel says that they all go to the same church. Billie acknowledges that and, when she looks to see what they are working on, she looks back at them with dread.

    She says that she can see they are good kids but they would be very wise not to get involved with any matter concerning Victor Kiriakis. She knows, seeing as she used to be a police officer & I.S.A. agent before becoming a P.I. J.J. then has a thought. He mentions having money saved and when Angel looks at him with surprise, he asks Billie if she would take on a case for him. Angel sighs deeply, telling him that she is very worried about where this could lead to. J.J. then pulls Billie to the side and, as Angel watches on, tells her about his father’s history.

    He explains about him being an ex-con and the trouble he’s been involved in. He also says that, no matter what, that his father is truly a good and decent man, who has just made the wrong choices in his life. He has heard rumblings when he was younger about some work his father has done in the past. Deep, covert stuff that he didn’t understand because of his age. He knows that his father can also be a very dangerous man when crossed or when he feels his life and lives of his family are threatened. So, he tells her, she can hopefully see what they are up against. They have tried to find out on their own what is up with him but have not been that successful so far.

    They both tell her that they don’t have very much to pay her but hope that she would take on their case, seeing as they need a professional like her. While Billie thinks over their offer, she hears footsteps behind her. When she then notices someone standing behind her, she turns and asks “What are you doing here?” Meanwhile, in the editor’s office, Jack is sitting in a chair, having fallen asleep. He doesn’t hear the person walk into the office and sit behind the desk in the big chair. He does hear the person bang on the desk, waking Jack up, and causing him to almost fall out of his seat.

    When Jack looks up, he notices that the chair is turned and asks.........

    Jack: Excuse me, Mr Editor? Or, is it Mrs? Or Miss? Whatever! Is that you?

    The chair turns to reveal the face of the newest editor and owner of The Spectator as Jack stands and looks on.........with an expressionless face.

    -At the cabin near Green Mountain, Alan still hasn't left for Salem. Carrie has just woke up and is angry that Alan hasn't left. She reminds him that he should be back in Salem by now. She needs him there and he needs to be there to mend fences. Alan says he knows but he is reluctant to leave her so close to her due date. Carrie insists she will be fine and will call if something happens or if she goes into labor. She also has the phone number for the doctor she has been seeing. If something happens, she will be sure to call him as well. Alan is still reluctant to go but Carrie gets his coat and begins to force him out.

    Carrie tells Alan to keep in touch and assures him she will be fine and will let him know if something happens. They embrace and she thanks him for his concern and for everything he has done for her. He says it's no problem and thanks her too for giving him the benefit of the doubt and being there for him. She wishes him luck back in Salem as they bid each other goodbye. Once the door is shut, Alan flashes a devilish grin as he walks away from the cabin.

    -At Lucas’s apartment, both of them have sat down to watch the movie Hitch on cable. Sami mentions that it’s one of her favorites and says that Lucas could stand to learn a thing or two from it. Lucas replies that he is the most romantic dude both of them know, to which Sami laughs. She says that she knows that and has known that ever since he showed up on her doorstep in his military uniform ready to take her to her first dance. Lucas is shocked she still remembers that but she isn’t. She says that is the moment she fell in love with him.......even though she didn’t know it at the time.

    The tone of the evening turns somewhat serious then as Sami gets up and walks over to the fireplace. Lucas sets up the DVR to tape the movie and then gets up himself, walking over to Sami. He hugs her from behind, telling her that he also didn’t realize how much he loved her back then. As he turns and walks away, he stops in front of the window, saying that his eyes were only for her sister. Carrie was, at the time, all he could think about. He didn’t start realizing that Sami was the woman for him until later on.

    When Sami walks over to him and hugs him from behind, asking if it was after the first time her wedding was stopped, Lucas smiles. He says that she shouldn’t be surprised. As pissed as he was at her, that was the day he found out that Will was his. It was also a day that changed his life. He decided to start growing up and stop acting like a spoiled rich kid. He wasn’t that successful, though, with his battle with alcohol starting sometime after that. Sami tells him how sorry she is for saying that he hit Will when he was drunk, knowing that it was a lie. She still regrets that more than anything else.

    She walks slowly back to the couch and sits down as Lucas follows her. When he sits next to her, he tells her that he forgave her for that a long time ago. He knew that even though her methods were wrong, he sees where her heart was. Sami tells him that the only person who had loved her unconditionally or, so she thought at the time, was Will. All the lies, backstabbing, and despicable things she did, she always felt his love for her and never questioned it, even when she would mess up and he would say how disappointed he was in her.

    Lucas tells her he has done things wrong himself and for her not to place all the blame on her. Sami agrees, making Lucas look at her shocked, before he smiles at her once again. But, she says, she thanks God for the love of her son. He is the biggest reason, she says, why she decided to change her life. She loves her child too much to let him down again. Lucas then asks her a very difficult question. He wants to know..........if she does feel like that about their son, does she think it’s time to tell him her darkest secret........

    About the time she was raped by Alan.

    Sami is quiet now. She sits back on the couch. She looks at Lucas, who takes her hand gently. He sees a tear come down her face and now regrets asking her that question. She places her hand on his cheek, saying for him to not blame himself for that. She knows that is the worse time of her life. She still doesn’t know how she came through it without grabbing one of her father’s handguns and blowing her brains out. She also blamed Carrie for a lot of that because she told the truth on the witness stand during Alan’s trial, which ended up with him getting off scot-free. That’s what started her downward spiral.......and ruined her relationship with her sister, which she regrets to this day.

    And now.......Alan is here. In Salem. He could come after her and, more importantly, Will or anyone she cares about. She stands up and stares straight ahead, vowing that she will kill him if he ever hurts her boy like he hurt her. Then, Lucas says, this may be the time to tell him. She looks at Lucas and starts crying, saying that Will might think that she is lying to him just to get closer to him or make him forget all the bad things she has done. Lucas walks up to her and holds her by both arms, saying that Will loves her more than anything in this world. He will believe her and understand, trust him. He feels that he will love her even more, knowing what she went through before he was born. And, he tells her........he will be right there, by her side. She is his lady and no one will change that. When Sami asks him if he still loves her, Lucas tells her to never wonder about that again.

    The love he has for her spans the universe. No matter where he goes for the rest of his life, one thing will always be certain.......that he loves her more than any woman he’s ever known. He would lay down his life for her that very second and gladly go to Heaven knowing that he did the right thing. She steps forward and hugs Lucas, holding him tightly, and telling him that she prays to God every day and night to keep him in her life and, if something ever happened to him,.......for God to just take her. She honestly doesn’t know how she would go on. Lucas then asks that if this is their new beginning, she responds yes. They have been through way too much for it not to be.

    While they hold each other, Will walks in the door, remarking about how long it will be before the building is back to normal. Sami and Lucas wipe the tears from their eyes and look at their son. When Will asks what’s going on, Lucas looks at Sami and asks if she is ok and she says that yes, she is fine and she’ll be alright. Lucas tells her ok and walks over to Will, telling him that he is leaving so he and his mother can talk. He pats Will on his back and walks over to the door, turning on the radio on the desk to play some music to help Sami through what she is about to do. He puts on his coat and looks back at Sami, who winks at him, and then he smiles as he leaves.

    The song "Believe Me" by Rie Sinclair comes on the radio and Sami smiles once again, saying to herself how appropriate the song is. Will asks what she means and Sami asks him to sit down. They have something to talk about. She pats on the couch and Will walks over to it, sitting down slowly and asking his mother what is wrong. He can sense that she is very sad and wants to help any way she can. Sami takes the deepest breath she ever has before taking his hand and looking at her son. She tells him that what he’s about to hear is the hardest thing she’s had to say to him and that it will be the hardest thing he’s had to hear but it must be done........he needs to know this and he is ready to know it.

    She tells him about when she met a man named Alan Harris. How handsome she thought he was and how much of a friend she thought he was when she was going through her bulimia crisis when she was a teenager. Will’s eyes grow wider at that news and before he can say anything, Sami squeezes his hand saying that this is very hard so she has to say it all at one clip or she will not get out the words. Will doesn’t say a word and lets his mother continue. She says that she started liking Alan as more than a friend. She thought that he was so wonderful and that he was the best man she had ever met.

    Lucas quietly walks back into the door and closes it behind him. He puts up his coat and stands next to the door as Sami continues. She continually wipes tears from her eyes as she says.......

    Sami: Baby, I don’t know what I was thinking. I had turned over everything to him. My heart belonged to him. I thought he felt the same way about me, you know? Because he kept telling me how special I was. And, at the time, I thought I was less than nothing. So.......I fell for his charms. I was trying to deal with just being a teenage girl and it was so much easier for me hearing about how pretty I was and about how I was the best thing in his life.

    Sami looks up at Lucas, who nods his head in approval. She then looks back at Will, who is worried about where she is headed with all of this. She continues........

    Sami: But...........it was all a lie, Will. He didn’t realize then that who he really wanted to be with........was your aunt, Carrie. I was just a substitute for her. He didn’t care about me at all. And.....I didn’t realize that.......until it was too late.

    When Will asks her what does she mean by that, Sami pauses for a while. Lucas then walks over and stands behind Sami and Will looks at his father. Lucas asks him to listen to what his mother is saying to him and Sami looks at Lucas, who smiles and tells her that she is doing great. She's almost there. With tears coming down his face once again, Lucas tells her to continue with the rest. Sami turns back slowly and looks at her son and starts crying uncontrollably. Will doesn’t know what is happening and is now very scared of what will be said next to him.

    Sami can barely look at him but she rocks back and forth and then calms down enough to continue....

    Sami: Ok. Here it goes. One night, I went over to his apartment. I wanted to cook him a special dinner so I could show him how much I thought I loved him. Everything was going so wonderfully. We laughed and joked and he was so sincere. Later that evening (Wiping the tears from her eyes), we were sitting on his couch and he started kissing me. Now, that was the first time I had been kissed by a boy so I was excited.

    He kept kissing me but then he started kissing me harder and harder. I told him to stop because I was starting to get scared. I started to get up and then.......he grabbed me. He kissed me real hard and wouldn’t let me go. (Crying very hard) I yelled at him for him to stop and then........he started calling me Carrie.

    Will is shocked at this statement. Sami looks at him and continues.......

    Sami: I tried so hard, Will, to get him off of me. But......he pushed me down on the couch. I started fighting him to get him off.........off........me but..........he wouldn’t stop. Then.......he started ripping off my clothes.........and touching me all over. I couldn’t...........I couldn’t get.............his hands off me. I was so scared.

    Will looks at his mother. A tear comes down his cheek. He sits closer to her and asks her....

    Will: Mom, what happened? What did he do to you, Mom?

    Sami can’t control the emotions she’s going through right now. Lucas holds her from behind and she draws strength from him as she breaths in deeply for blurting out that.......

    Sami: Oh.......Dear God......He raped me, Will! Alan raped me, Will!

    Will looks at his father, who confirms what his mother just said by shaking his head. Will can’t believe it and turns away from Sami. He stands up and walks slowly to the window and slowly......starts crying. He hits the wall near the window frame and then starts banging on the wall itself, yelling over and over.....

    Will: THAT BASTARD!!! HOW.....HOW COULD HE DO THAT?! HOW COULD ANY MAN...HOW?!

    Sami jumps up and runs over to him. He turns and looks at his mother and, taking one step forward, hugs Sami tightly. He buries his face into her shoulder and cries uncontrollably while she keeps telling him to let it all out. He barely can stand at this point and Lucas walks over to them and hugs both Sami and his son.

    Will tells Sami & Lucas how sorry he is. He looks at Sami, saying that he was so wrong for giving her such a hard time. She tells him that nothing is his fault. She just wanted him to know what she went through. It's not an excuse but it was the beginning of her life spiraling out of control. She loves him more than her own life and begs him to be careful around Alan. He is back in town and there is no telling what he could do.

    Will realizes that this is why everyone was so upset about some Alan guy being back a few months ago. Sami says that it was the reason why Austin and Lucas were staying with her. The other reason was Stefano and the whole mafia war. Sami begs him to stay clear of Alan. Will says he will but it will be hard not knowing what he looks like. Sami searches for a picture, along with Lucas, but neither can find one. She just tells Will to be careful and she will be sure to give him a picture when she can since a description of his looks won't be enough. Will says he understands and then........starts crying once again, hugging his mother and telling her how much he loves her.

    The camera then gives us a overhead shot and then very slowly pans upward, as Believe Me plays once again. The ending credits roll as the family hugs and then slowly fades to black as the song ends.

    On the next Salem Lives...

    Kayla to Steve: You ready to go?
    Steve to Kayla: No, I'm not.
    Jack: Oh my God...your my boss?
    JJ to Billie: Please...you have to help us.
    Abby to Max: There is no hope. Chelsea is getting better but I'm not. I am going to be like this forever.
    Cassie: It's time to dtop my little bombshell. Geat ready Max and Abby.
    Sami to Lucas: I'm worried about him Lucas. I'm worried about all of us.
    Will to Alan: I need to talk to you, "Ace." I really need a friend right now.
    Carrie: Argh...oh my God. The baby...
