Diane Wiest: she's been on Law and Order (not sure if she's still on,I mostly watch reruns) She was also in Footloose,Parenthood,help me someone, I know there are more movies...... About JE...leaving or not. Of course I don't want to lose her,but yeah....stuff like the five minutes of airtime a week gets old real quick,and honestly with this regime,sadly....I don't see it changing. If a story with Luke Spencer doesn't grant you two or three days a week,(EVERY WEEK)I can't see anything else doing the trick. So yeah I'd hate to lose Jane,but I'd hate even more for her to stay and be wasted. AS far as DOOL...she MIGHT get more airtime/better respect there,and it's the only other soap I watch. I doubt I'd take up watching a new soap just for her,as much as I love her. Soaps as a rule bore me,which is strange considering what this board is. LOL But anyway. About Anjelica.....on paper she WAS boring,but I think I've already said that. But you know,Jane made her SHINE. And if she went back to DOOL....I'd rather she played a whole new character,maybe even someone Tracy-like(or TQ herself,if it could be done.) So yeah.....while I'm determined to enjoy every last second of the TQ/JE goodness we might have left,be it a few more months or years(if she re-signs), I'm still hopeful she'll get snapped up by someone else,or things at GH will change. About the female ensemble MinervaFan...it's a good one. But it'd have to be a brilliant show for me to watch. TV truthfully bores me,and even as I'm watching it,I'm almost always aware that there are at least ten other things more important and productive I could be doing. Monday TQ will be on though....which is a good hint she may be on several days next week. *crosses fingers that all TQ's airtime plays out over several days and not just Monday*

See I can actually imagine all of your ideas happening,but probably with different writers. What these writers will do is anyone's guess. My opinion? I think a lot of L&L fans,be they hardcore fans or not, are taking for granted that Luke would just jump over hoops to be with Laura now....and I honestly don't see that happening. At least not the way most people think. I can really see LaineyBev714's scenario coming to pass,or something similiar. For several reasons: I think deep down,both Genie and Tony want to stretch as actors,and explore being paired with other people. Tony certainly has pushed for years to be paired with Jane. He also seemed to like the Luke/Felicia pairing. That doesn't sound like the talk of an actor who thinks his character can only be with one woman. Of course he has also said in terms of romance that Laura was "it" for Luke,but that was before the last few years,that was before Skye and Tracy. I do think Luke can love someone else, maybe not in the same way he loved Laura,but it can be just as real. TG also said in one of the latest mags that he REALLY liked the way his character was going and the people he worked with,but that he would welcome Genie if she returned. Call me optimistic but I like to interpret that as "I like my storyline the way it is and don't want to go backwards." Which,let's face it,is exactly what L&L would be....going backwards. Haven't they already been through it ALL? So,if it were up to TG,I don't think L&L would just magically reunite. I don't think it'd be as simple as him choosing Tracy though. What I think will happen,with THESE writers: Laura will come back and Luke and Tracy will have a heartbreaking moment where he tells her he has to go be with Laura,and Tracy either goes off to the DR to get a divorce,or leaves town(if JE doesn't re-sign.),or BOTH. OR Tracy is Rick Webbered and when Laura goes back into a catatonic state,we find out Tracy is responsible,maybe working with Helena? And she leaves town after Luke rejects her,or maybe leaves town before Luke can find out. If JE does re-sign, and Genie stays permanently or on enough of a recurring basis that it makes Lacy impossible to continue....she may just be there once again to mainly snark at Dillon or her father or whomever,and may spend time causing havoc for L&L. And honestly with THIS regime,I doubt they'd do little else with her. If Genie doesn't stay,and doesn't do recurring, I can see Lacy continuing their little game,but the stakes would be different,I think. Other than that,I can't see much changing. What I want to happen is something similiar to LaineyBev's. I want Luke to CHOOSE Tracy. If it's just a case of "oh look Laura's catatonic again. Let's go,SpankyBuns"...LOL that would just infuriate me and disgust me. If he can't choose her because he realizes he's better off with Tracy because of who he is NOW,I'd rather they went their separate ways. And maybe that's what it will take. Luke NOT having her there,to realize he needs and wants her there. Personally I just don't see Luke,the way he is now,taking right back up with Laura as if nothing's changed,as if HE hasn't changed. My biggest thing is, I don't want to lose JE/Tracy...but I don't want her wasted,either. And if she's going to be wasted,she would be better off elsewhere. Sorry for the long post,and end of rant. *applause for tracyluver's post* Well done,and I agree with most if not all of it. *hugs to you*,although I'm not sure what kind of pick me up you need....I hope it helps. About the molestation....I used to think maybe a friend of Edward's might have done something like that,but I prefer to think she's that complex for other reasons that are not quite so easily defined. It would be easier(I almost said "easy" and I don't think Tracy is easily helped) to reach Tracy if you could define her problems with just one moment or one incident,such as being raped or beaten or molested or something equally violent or tragic. But she's just not that simple,and that's why I love her. You can't just sit her on a couch(now there's a good FIC bunny....TRacy(maybe even teenage Tracy..hint hint MinervaFan, Tracy goes to see a shrink) and "fix" what's wrong. Aaah...the possibilities for such a story,though. ABout the way Jane played the drunk scenes in Vegas. Well first can I say, even though there are times I think Jane makes the wrong choice in a scene,she STILL can make the scene good,and make it work? So because of that I guess I don't notice the OTT moments as much as you MF. I just see Tracy. Who I've said before,is just an OTT character,in many ways. She's not a "normal" woman,that's for sure. Anyway,I think Jane played those scenes that way on purpose,because Tracy would HAVE to be drunk off her gourd to not only marry Luke but not remember it,because as you said she is used to imbibing a LOT of alcohol,back in the late 80's early nineties especially,Tracy drank a lot but only ONCE did I ever see her falling down drunk that I remember,and that's when she thought the family was bankrupt after the SS Tracy sank in the harbor(right as Paul came into town.) So yeah....I think Tracy was BOMBED and Jane played it the way Tracy would have been in order to go along with Luke. But anyway that's just my take on it.

You know there are days when I think JE really has it crappy at GH,and days when I don't think that way. For instance people grip all the time about how the vets are treated,but back in the day when I was a kid and a teen,watching the soaps,I can't remember most vets EVER getting the respect they deserved. I suppose Y&R is the one exception of daytime. I get bits and pieces of that show since I have SoapNet,but my mom always watched and still does sometimes,and the majority of that cast for as long as I can remember,has mostly been over thirties. A LOT are over forties/fifties. And yet they are No.1 in the ratings. I'm about to go off on a tangent here...but I don't think the Nielsen ratings sysytem is fair. I think most Neilsen homes are upper crust affluent ones,whether they are young or old. Seriously...how many homes in Harlem do you think have a Nielsen box? OTOH, probably a good majority of Y&R viewers are at least middle class. And obviously quite a few of them have those handy little boxes. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that every TV should come equipped with one,and I think the ratings would be quite different if they did. Off topic sorta,I know. Just something I had to get off my flat chest. And it's not that I think GH deserves to be #1...but anyway. Moving on....... Y&R shows us that people over forty aren't dead. That's good. However it's almost always bored me. That's bad. LOL As bad as GH can be at times, I almost always find something I can point to and say,"this was good" or "this entertained me." Usually Q/Tracy related,but still,it's there. So, GH needs to utilize the vets more,they CAN do interesting stories...they just need to take a cue from Y&R and use the vets. What I was going to say at the beginning of the post and got all OT,is that when I was a kid,Audrey Hardy,Steve Hardy,Jesse Brewer...we saw them,but all I can ever remember Jesse B doing is standing behind the desk at GH. And at the time,she wasn't any older(probably younger,even) than JE is now. And I can't remember ever seeing where she lived,or a story for her while I was watching. So....in a way,JE has it great,compared to vets twenty years ago. She's actually shown in a scene by herself. THAT's the biggest clue IMO about what TIIC think of you. Are you important enough that you get a monologue or a scene all on your own,are you important enough that people see your bedroom,your home,your workplace,your family? Jane gets most of that. And the fact that she makes us feel Tracy no matter how little airtime she gets,is a testament to Jane's talent. Oh sure I wish she was on three(or even two) days a week consistently,with ten minutes airtime each show. I'd be okay with that,although I'll probably always want more. But I could live with twenty minutes a week. BUT....even if she only gets five minutes,as horrible as it is, I can't help but remember poor Jesse and think that Jane actually could have it much worse. I have no idea why I am thinking about that. LOL Just am. Carry on,people. ETA I watched Anjelica but never saw Alex Marshall...and only from soap mags do I know about the character. It makes me sad to think the Lacy thing might not ever be fully explored,and that people are so willing to immediately pair JE with someone else all for the sake of LnL. Myself included,but only because I don't want JE/Tracy tossed to the side. BUt enough about the possibly never fully explored potential of Lacy,I'll make myself (and ya'll) sad. Kudos to TIIC though. I think they may actually TRYING to use JE while TG is gone. Too bad they can't do that when he's HERE. LOL

I enjoyed yesterday's show. Can Lorenzo and Tracy hook up? Please? I love Jane and Ted,more than Jane/Wally,Jane/Scott,Jane/Tristan,Jane/Tony,Jane anyone other than the late great Gerald Anthony. They just smolder,while at the same time,they're kinda sweet. Great update Ms.Q. Was Coleman grilling Skye about baby Lila? Yes,I've given the child a name. And you KNOW it's a girl. MinervaFan I don't think anyone actually posted the transcripts because we couldn't find them. But I'll keep looking for you.

And I'm sorry ya'll about the short posts,but besides being rushed and busy I really don't have much to say. I'm torn between being anxious for Jane and wanting her to re-sign and get a good story,and wanting her to leave GH in the dust because I know as long as Guza is there,this is IT. This is what she'll get. Oh I suppose if you put enough pressure on him,he might write for her,but you also have the double edged-sword of wondering if him writing her a story would be a good thing. My agenda right now is,I wouldn't mind at all for Jane to go to another show,or Tracy to "cross over" to another show. Although that last part isn't likely to happen. And I know we'd promised to be positive,which is partly why my posts are so short. I love ya'll,nothing personal,and I HATE this. I HATE it. I HATE that she's been so wasted and my probably favorite character on television ever,her airtime hinges on a story with a man who isn't there FIVE MONTHS out of the year. Not that TIIC are writing for them when he is here,but still..... Anyway,in order to keep it positive I better log off. LOL I will pop back in soon,tomorrow maybe. Ms.Q your story is getting better and better. Sorry about my short posts and not posting as much,work is busy busy more than norm the last week of the month,and since I don't have a home computer right now I post whenever/whereever or at work. I watched,and I thought Luke was definitely thinking about what Robert said about Tracy might not be waiting on him. INteresting. This is early fo rTG to leave but he'll be back for two or three weeks in August,so maybe we'll get some more Lacy before Laura comes back. Hope so,and hate to run off,but I gotta. I might not pop back in today but if not I'll post more tomorrow. I did want to say I have not mailed my letters yet,I've decided to revamp them, I am writing four differernt ones which is why I'll probably just recap instead of posting the whole letters here. I will work on them this weekend. Questions to ponder: We need strength as a group to deal with the wacky L&L fans that are coming out of the woodwork. Or at least,I do. LOL I hate to sound mean about it,but you know what I mean,when you go online and encounter someone who seems to not completely realize that it IS just a show and these people are not real and therefore ultimately not worth completely freaking over? There's this one poster on SZ that just strikes me as slightly cracked when it comes to the subject of L&L and Tracy/Luke. She referred to Lacy the other day as a "fungus". Nice,huh? Remind me again why I post there? LOL Anyway,she SWEARS she hates Luke and that she doesn't want Laura with him when she comes back,but then she goes on to argue with another poster who pointed out that Tracy truthfully is a much better match at this point in Luke's life because Laura is too fragile to handle what Luke has become. And this poster retaliated by saying that TRACY was the fragile one. And then went on to say that Lacy is a fungus. I can understand not liking seeing LUke with someone else but GAH. I hate when people argue points that make no sense. Tracy can be vulnerable but in general she is NOT fragile,and this person GAH....UGH...the invalid arguments just get on my nerves. Why can't they just admit they still want L&L together and hate Lacy and move on? LOL I guess that's part of posting online though. Thanks for letting me vent. LOL I hate being mean about it,but I guess it's better to vent here than there and take it out on her. Question: What do you think,just from seeing that clip,is the biggest difference between Anjelica and Tracy as characters? I ask that because people sometimes say that JE is typecast into playing those type of characters,but to me Anjelica and Tracy are apples/oranges. Same general type of character but very different. I loved Anjelica because of JE. She wasn't a very unique character I don't think,in fact you could say she was a cookie cutter adulterous rich woman with a penchance for boy toys. But JE fleshed her out,made her interesting. I could NOT take my eyes off her,much like I can't when she plays Tracy. Years later I went back and read old DOOL transcripts,and realized that not only was Anjelica kind of "stereotypical" in theory,but on paper in scripts she was kind of boring,too. It's a testament to JE that she brought such life to the character. In the hands of another less capable actress,the character might have been very dull, bland and forgettable. Tracy on the other hand, even with these writers,probably seems like a unique,challenging role. She likes men,but she's loyal to the man she's with,even if he's not loyal to her. (Excluding Guza's foray into Coleman,which I'd be inclined to wipe from my memory if I didn't like the big lug so much). She's loyal to family,but they will stab each other in the back to get what they want,and defend each other from outsiders at all costs.(The REAL Q's do.) She loves FIERCELY. She's passionate. I could go on and on about Tracy,ya'll know that. But what do you all see,(I know it's hard getting something just from that clip,for those who didn't watch her)as the main differences between the two women? Just curious. ETA Actually when I said Tracy will probably get her heart broken,what I meant was,I can see Tracy stepping aside for Laura(provided TIIC don't make her out to be the villain in this one), and I can see Luke going back to Laura,but being torn about it. Then if GF doesn't stay long term I can see Luke going back to Tracy,and Tracy refusing to take him back as is,knowing he'd stay with Laura if she were well. And I can see Luke in time willingly coming to Tracy because he WANTS to be there. So even though she will get her heart broken I can see it ending well. Of course maybe that's just my heart's desire speaking out. They're just so GOOD together. And YES,that kiss in Miami was all kinds of HAWT,but IMO almost all their intimate scenes,even the pretend ones,have been. The time that stands out in my mind most,is the first scene before he kidnapped her,where they were standing OH so close,in the Q living room,close enough to kiss. It was ELECTRIC IMO,and I wish there were more scenes like that,just full of the raw sexual tension. Personally I think TG would rather Luke and Laura move on from each other. Maybe it's just because he talks up Lacy every chance he gets. Maybe it's because in that SID article when asked about GF's return,he said he REALLY liked the people he worked with now and where they were taking the character and how they were finally past the L&L thing and how he didn't think they'd ever get past it. But that's just my take on it.

I know I promised a long post but I'm sooooo tired ya'll. I was sooo blown away by yesterday's show though. Great stuff,I rewound and watched about five times,that last scene. And yes I interpreted the facial expressions after the kiss,too. I think our girl is going to get her heart broken,but then again,maybe not......I think Luke had "that" look on his face. The clip,thanks Ms.Q,I watched DOOL back then too but didn't see ALL of Anjelica/Justin. I liked them together though,I thought they were kind of sweet until it turned sour. I'll post more tomorrow. Ohhhh,so it was TWOP.. I post there from time to time but eh,I'm getting more and more to the point where the only thread or board I care about is this one. It used to bother me immensely when I read bad things about JE...not because I don't feel people are entitled to their opinions. It's just sometimes I think some people are nasty on purpose. I might even be guilty of that myself,although I'm not proud of it,and I don't start out a discussion MEANING to hurt someone or make them mad. Anyway I guess that's what bothers me more. I honestly don't care if everyone likes Tracy,that'd be nice,but think how boring the discussions would be. And not everyone can agree on acting ability. I'm no expert,but like I said on SOC in that Emma Samms thread,I've always heard comedy is much harder to do than drama anyway,so saying Jane is good at the comedy(as that poster did) is actually a great compliment,when you think about it. MinervaFan I understand what you mean about the screechiness. But sometimes,that's just who Tracy is. Or used to be. Seriously. You probably wouldn't like her half as much,if you watched in the past...because Guza and Co. have for the most part,"declawed" her. This Tracy is so much more mild and mellow. Screeching Tracy was (while not ALL the time,she had good cause to screech when she did,LOL) a regular occurance. So when I see the flashback,I don't focus on the screeching so much because I'm used to it,I guess. But I definitely see how it would grate on someone's nerves and seem OTT if you aren't used to it. I like to just always say,Tracy's an OTT character,so any OTT actions are expected. LOL Yes,I heard good things about today's show as well. Okay let me catch up,first Ms.Q....I have no idea what kind of exit story I'd write. Have to think on it. *claps* wonderful fic updates, Ms.Q, coolkid,and angel. Loved them all. angel I don't want Laura back either,for various reasons. But I'm staying out of it and letting the Laura fans enjoy the news for the most part. I hate it but,nothing I can do about it for now. Nice to see you posting amello and YES,Jane is the best actress on the show. Freakin' idiots. BLAH. Ms.Q may I have a link to this post please? Is it SOC? And as far as why we get upset when our faves get bashed: I think most of us are sane enough to realize it's a fictional character,not a real person,blah blah blah. BUT when we have a favorite movie,or a favorite blouse,or a favorite ANYTHING,and someone comes along and says "UGH...how could you like that/him/her/it?" It really puts us on the defensive I think because it's like the person doing the bashing is challenging our tastes and likes/dislikes. Even our intelligence. And while the person place thing we like,is just that, and nothing more,it DOES become personal when we feel our judgement,our intelligence,our tastes,have been questioned. I think that's why. It's a kind of rejection. It's a kind of "well you're not good enough to sit with the cool people,because you like this" kind of thing. And it sucks. Which is why I like this thread,because I don't think anyone thinks less of me because quite frankly I think NLG sucks as an actress and Alexis is a big fat bore. Just as an example. And I don't think less of people who love her. I don't understand it,LOLOL...J/K...but I don't think less of anyone. Why would I? On other boards,however.....*RME* Judgement stands supreme. I got in a huge fight last week with someone on SZ just because I had the nerve to say I don't like Lulu,and I think Maxie is no bigger of a skank than LUlu is,because of what Maxie's doing,and what Lulu is going to do.(not giving away a spoiler,just sayin'). Apparently it's not okay to think that way for this person. Which is fine. I know now that this poster can't take criticism about the character and I won't bother getting into it with her again about it. I felt bad because it got ugly,and I apologized,and actually that exchange was what made me not want to post for days on end.Yes everyone is entitled to their opinions,problem is,some people are better at respecting other's opinions,and some people like me get personal without realizing it,and/or without meaning to. Board wars can get ugly. As far as JE's acting. I don't claim to be an acting expert. I know what I like and what I don't. I do agree with someone who posted the other day,that I think I enjoyed the show more while I was offline than online. Partly because every nook and cranny of the show is dissected and discussed before I even get to watch,so that little to nothing that happens is a surprise. I do know that JE is just a person,and therefore she makes mistakes,sometimes dreadful mistakes. The "on the phone after hitting Jenny"...Ms.Q I laughed at some of it,but I think JE wanted us to. I think she played it as typical Tracy,where you can laugh/cry/get disgusted/love her/hate her,all in the space of one scene. Aaahh...that makes me miss REAL,TRUE,COMPLICATED Tracy...whom we rarely get to see onscreen due to the shoddy writing these days. The scenes with Ned....I cried with her when she first told him because JE was shedding tears at the corners of her eyes(which is something Tracy hardly EVER does). The Tracy and Luke stuff from earlier where she thinks he's trying to kill her...I think was pure camp,and it was supposed to be hammy,and yes I think JE was playing it like Tracy knew all along,or at least,after the first five minutes. I think JE played it,as TRACY(who is not an actress) "playing" scared,and so therefore she overplayed it,as Tracy would have,because nothing Tracy does is subtle. I didn't think Tracy's line "the only man I ever loved was you" was funny,because their relationship has always had incestuous tones to it. At least it did with DL. I found it believable. I think JE did the best she could with a very difficult scene. They did not rehearse the scene. If they had,she might have toned it down. They did the scene ONCE,and only once,and taped it,if I'm remembering right. Jane said it wasn't the kind of thing you COULD do repeatedly and keep it fresh. She I believe once also said that it was something she wouldn't WANT to repeat. I think she was a little OTT in some parts,but that line to Edward no matter how it was delivered,rang true to me,and it defines their relationship pretty well I think. The emotions across her face are why I love JE,period. She's great at delivering witty,funny lines,and quite good at physical comedy too. But it's the facial expressions and struggling with emotions,that gets me every time. Way more than the best dialogue ever could. She doesn't get nearly enough chances to display those emotions these days. More's the pity for us. I'm sorrynex MinervaFan and anyone else if the talk is depressing you. It's not SZ saying Jane's out,it's SD. Nothing's official yet,and probably won't be for several months. Even IF JE doesn't re-sign in November,I think they'd ask her to extend her contract so they can give her a proper send off. It doesn't bother me as much because I've seen JE come and go several times now. I don't want to lose Tracy but I have faith no matter what,that everything always works out for the ultimate best. It does. And no more of this depressing stuff. *waves to all* of course no Tracy today you silly silly people. No one to prop,no Tracy. Yes my new SZ moniker refers to DOOL. Kinda thinking about writing Ken Corday to see if he has room for Jane. The SD thing? Doubt any major decision like that has been made yet,I think they're all waiting with baited breath to see how GF's return pans out. Thing is,even if JE doesn't re-sign,I think they'll ask her to extend her contract until they can play out her exit story,like she did back in 93. Because there's too much going on,what with Skye probably giving birth,Laura coming back....there won't be room for a Tracy exit story. My guess is almost all of November sweeps will be all 90% about the Spencers. At least,those that count. Our girl apparently isn't a SPencer,according to most L/L fans. See....I'm smiling. And now I'm not. Question: how do you think GF's return(and I'm sure they already knew she'd be back,when they wrote this week's shows(including tomorrow's) will affect the spoilers,especially those relating to Tracy? Will they change? Stay the same? Increase,or decrease,in importance? No change at all? Whatchoo think,people??

Nah I doubt it Keith. TG supposedly signed on until 2008. YOu know,a lot of things could happen. JE may not re-sign,or be asked to re-sign. If so,whatever they do with Luke and Laura is their problem because once Jane is gone I'm DONE. Thing is, I can't see GF coming back full time. OF course,she could keep schedule with TG,but that's still a long time away from her family. We'll see I guess. I hate that we know about it now. Unless we know the story,the months until JE's contract ends are going to be rough. Even if GF comes back temporarily though....she could always come back over the months,for short stints,which will most definitely put the kibosh on any growth for Lacy. Eh. Spec'ng is making me sad.
