Yes, I watched those December 1983 episodes in hopes of getting clues about Nancy. Some soap magazines around the time of Jane Cameron's castimg as Nancy in June 1984 mention that she was "last seen nearly a year ago as a child," so I'm guessing Nancy wasn't seen at all even during December 1983-May 1984. I'm not aware of another actress besides Danielle and Jane playing the role, not for lack of trying though. Angie and Sally's interactions probably had to do with Amgie bonding with Emma, who I think Emma thought Angie was good for Willis. I wish the show had built relationships for Olivia through her father's side with the Matthews like Lemay did with Sally and the Frames (her adopted father's side).

Yes, the statememt about Susan's "feelings" for Bill is one of several examples of the anniversary book presenting supposed facts that were never revealed on air or conpletely wrong. Here are some examples: Janet Matthews resuming her affair with Ken Baxter once she took a job transfer to California. Also, Ken and Laura getting divorced. Ernest Gregory reconciling with his former fiance, Karen after Janet broke off her engagement to Ernest. Olivia Delaney being the mother of Olivia Matthews. Caroline Johnson being institutionalized for kidnapping the Randolph twins. Jamie and Marianne being referred to as first cousins (1981 section) Just to name a few. Miss Devon actually lasted until late March '84, but she indeed disappear. I completely forgot about the mention in September of that year! Me being the conpletist I am, I've been trying to narrow down Danielle Burns last appearance as Nancy in 1983. A fan once informed me that Nancy was present in April 1983 when Mac hosted a dinner for the Ewing family (Larry, Clarice, Blaine, Cory, and Jeanne) to help the family mend fences (Rachel, Ada, and Nancy were also present). Blaine was bitter towards Jeanne for abandoning them while Larry defended Jeanne, despite that Jeanne was overly critical and mean to Clarice. Jeanne ruined the evening by insulting Cory for being illegitimate. My guess is Nancy may not have been seen any later than May because of the Alma Rudder storyline escalating to her murder. Nancy seemed to be abaent in August 1983 for the double wedding too. I read an interview once of Danielle's in which she said she stopped playing Nancy about a month before her 10th (Danielle's) birthday. Anyone have insight? The kids are tough to keep track as they often go long stretches between appearances and often times aren't involved in major story points.

Seems like the anniversary book may have implied more than what was said on-air, that Susan's "feelings for Bill" caused her to "hold back affection" from Dan Shearer. One thing Lemay did change was Bill being older than Susan. From the start of the show, to at least September 1971 Susan was around 4 years older than Bill. Vivien may be one of the few main characters who was never given a proper exit each time she was written out. She's present during Christmas Day 1980 then disappears, only to resurface on Texas in February 1981. Yes, it is a shame about Brooks and Louise. However, I honestly don't see subsequent writers (1982 onward at least) that would write for them properly or let them have the level of signifance that Lemay afforded them. Speaking of Louise and Brooks, did they appear together in their last scenes in late May 1980 and August 1982? I always figured that they did.

Thanks so much. Looks like my original reply about Willis didn't post or something. Willis came to town after he learned from Janice that Steve and Alice had reconciled. Out of guilt for abandoning his family in Chadwell, Steve gave Willis a junior partnership at the firm. It was because of Willis that Steve became determined to have an active role in Jamie's life. By May 1972, Jamie was aged to six years old, which matched Willis' age when Steve had abandoned the family. I thought there were assumptions made from Lemay's book that Fitzpatrick was dismissed due to having a drinking problem, but I may be incorrect. I do remember Lemay stating in his book or during an interview that he had trouble writing for the younger set, so that may have included Marianne. Thank you for such a warm welcome everyone. It is much appreciated. I wouldn't be a site admimistrator and chief researcher if not for Eddie Drueding. I used to take notes while watching the AW broadcasts and would forward everything to him so that he could update the site. Then, I built enough trust to where he granted me administrative privileges. It's been a pleasure...truly.

Thank you so much and you are welcome. So glad the AWHP is helping to keep discussion and interest alive. Yes. I've been trying to grab some screenshots to use for the character pages. For a long time, we could only rely on black and white photographs from soap magazines and publications. So to get color stills of actors like Christopher J. Brown as Michael, Ariana as Marianne, Chris Pierson, Willis (1st), is an added treat.

Another World Discussion Thread
Hello everyone. This is Mike, the co-site administrator and chief researcher for the Another World Home Page. It's great to see discussion of Another World despite the being off the air for so many years. No, Pat never finished college. Due to the murder trial and acquittal, Pat becoming difficult and reclusive at home, running away to Bedfordtown, and coming to terms with everything, Pat chose marriage to John over getting a college degree (she originally was pursuing a degree in education and considered becoming a teacher). A question was asked some time ago about Will and Liz's marriage. Originally, they were very much in love and Will tolerated Liz's not so admirable qualities because he loved her unconditionally. However, Janet and Susan hinted that Liz had the terrible habit of emasculating men, including Will and Fred Douglas. Otherwise, Lemay must've established Will and Liz's marriage as loveless because, before that time, the marriage wasn't described that way. Another question was about Rachel's hometown. Prior to Lemay, it was never clearly established whether Rachel was born and grew up in Bay City or elsewhere. The only real hint was that Ada had worked at Pierre's as a hairdresser and had Liz as a long-time client. So, it could've been safely assumed that Rachel grew up in Bay City from 1967-1975. But, it was Lemay who was the first to firmly establish Rachel as growing up in Bay City. No kidding about the rapid aging. Michael and Marianne seemed to be the characters who started off as newborns that were aged the most rapidly. Even Jamie's age progression wasn't as fast! Ariana's clips seem to be from May-June 1975, though properly dating them is in progress.
