Getting some Maura West/Diane Jenkins vibes from this casting choice. Given that the show achieved the near-impossible in a successful Taylor recast a few years ago, I’m not sure why this was necessary.

Revealing Sugar’s actual name, Janet Webber, was a nice touch, as the name is a compound of both of Robin Mattson’s most famous roles. That B&B is finally acknowledging the doppelgänger/bomb shelter storyline makes me wonder if they’ll ever try to explain Pheila (Probably not).

It’s an incredibly silly story no matter what the resolution, but the repetitive “she wants me dead!” dialogue makes me think Sheila set Steffy up, and will probably haunt her in the months to come until she’s inevitably revealed to be alive come May sweeps. The Sugar thing just gives the writers an easy out.

Didn’t Sheila mention meeting up with someone from her past last week? That seemed so from out of nowhere to not be significant. Also, wasn’t Sugar last seen with Sheila’s face? 

I don't think Sheila and David ever interacted, but I think they almost did. I vaguely recall a scene where Sheila went to see her lawyer (Glenn Richards?) while a disguised David, who had been snooping around, was hiding under the desk.

Well, she did kill Lance by way of a thousand stings (this was even shown in a flashback last year). And there was the shrink she sent falling off a balcony, even if that was an accident.

Definitely wasn’t expecting the Y&R flashbacks. It would be great if today’s stories were half as good as the ones shown in the clips.

Technically 32 years considering her initial Y&R run, but who’s counting?

My first memory was the lab cat fight with Lauren, though I think it may have been a flashback shown on B&B later in 92.

Watch out Lauren, the She-devil’s coming for you!

I wonder if they’ll even mention the Pheila mess lmao.

They included a flashback of the jacuzzi fight when Sheila returned last year. Hopefully we get a few more now that the show has again acknowledged the Lauren/Sheila rivalry.

Old school Y&R was adept at keeping charachters in sperate bubbles without years of interaction.

I don’t think they ever interacted. Sheila was primarily in a bubble with Scott, Lauren, and Paul in her original stint, and only occasionally interacted with other characters. I think they both appeared at the 1991 Masquerade Ball though(?)

Also, I don’t think Lauren has anything Sheila would want at this point. Scotty is too old to come around to her again. But having Lauren expose Sheila—again—would be priceless.

If this doesn’t involve a Lauren-Sheila interaction they shouldn’t bother.

She looks great for her age, impressive considering she seems to have had minimal (if any) work done.

Hopefully she won’t be sporting fake teeth and a Cockney accent this time.

Wasn’t Sheila last seen at Deacon’s, and doesn’t he have a history of helping people fake their death?

If I didn’t know who was playing Taylor now I would swear by that photo it was Hunter Tylo.

Sheila hitting her head against the door is a nice callback to her hitting her head against the jail cell in 2002.

Def getting some Kathy Bates in Misery vibes from Sheila’s scenes today. 

One would think with Sheila on the lam for (attempted) murder, Lauren should be in the know. And she should be beyond pissed that no one bothered to tell her Sheila is alive in the last five years.

But no mentions of Sarah Smythe or Pheila please.

At least they provided some continuity by bringing Ken Hanes back.

I felt this was coming as soon as they (very quickly) removed him from the opening credits.
