  1. Wyatt is sure first to pass judgement and seems to forget he lied many times to Hope and Steffy about Quinn's misdeeds, so they wouldn't have left him or the time he went along with Bill's lies about him and Steffy. Sally's reaction from the last episode was genuinely moving! And she's right, Wyatt proposed to her because she wouldn't sleep with him and tossed her for Flo twice. I don't read any spoilers, but I guess it's time for some brain tumour? Just like what they did to Pam.

Why ruin Sally to prop Flo?  Bad writing

Because Flo is a Logan and Logan women are obviously the heroines of the show and they need to be forgiven...

I know about the restrictions and I'm very happy to have B&B back, but I agree that the Flo/Wyatt scene was way over the top. Their reunion lasted for like 2 minutes, way too long for Flo missing just one day. 16:9 ratio is not at all conducive to the classic scene cuts. The kissing seemed very awkward and unnaturally displayed though Bell assured that the differences wouldn't be visible. And why didn't Flo just think about taking her shoe off in the first place?

  3. The first episode of the Catalina story is missing for sure (#1661). Then we've got the one aired by CBS recently and again #1663, #1664 missing and then #1666 and #1667. Not sure about the dates.

Thanks for the 1990 episodes! I loved to see them on Marek's channel, but there were many missing episodes or sometimes the video missed the first few minutes. Now we've got every second, amazing!

  4. It seems that episode #1670 was disrupted by the Michael Jackson's case coverage. I wonder if the episode was therefore re-aired somewhat later?

sadly that our angel is not uploading the episodes after 762 :(

I wonder if the person had only two weeks trial period :( But hope to see the next episodes somehow.

  5. Nikki, you're my hero! Thanks a lot!

FYI, Nikki said she's trying to fix the audio sync issues but she'll post every episode she has up until Taylor's death in 94. She said again, she is probably missing a few episodes because she tossed some without Hunter but its pretty complete.

Does anyone know what month Taylor "died"? Was it March or April 94?

Yes, it was April 1994. Taylor's funeral is shown in #1781 episode.

Just like when Rome Flynn left the show and Nicole had to disappear with Zende... At least they didn't get divorced.

So, they decided to recast Zende after all..

I never understood why some are so eager to recast roles which have played by 1 actor for 20 or 30 years. It's not like HT is unavailable.

If they are able to get some popular actors on board - they'll do that. That's what happened to Thorne. Winsor would have played perfectly the storyline with Katie (especially that the two of them shared some scenes in 2007) and he was always ready to come back full time again, but Ingo was much more popular, so they recast Thorne. I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to have Winsor again the next time Thorne will appear.

  7. Oh it was definitely because of Ridge, her first lover :D  She crossed the first line when she slept with still married Eric, who was her mother's first love after all. Then she betrayed Eric with Ridge multiple times, and in the following years she would very comfortably use her body to seduce Ridge and Thorne and point out to Taylor or Stephanie that they are too reserved. I loved how the writers made Hope declared virgin in contrast to her mother and how she would call Brooke out sometimes for the sex scandals.

And funny thing, at least three characters told Stephanie that her love for Ridge is rather disturbing - Brooke, Taylor and Jackie - she slapped all three of them for saying that.

  8. Guys you shared amazing stories! It's nice to hear your memories on B&B. :) I was raised by my grandma and watching B&B was kind of "our thing". When she passed away I continued to watch and thought that maybe she would still be watching with me and complaining about Brooke :D. One thing I definitely owe B&B is improving my English when I started watching original episodes and translating the recaps.

@divinemotion I heard the same stories about empty streets, but for Dynasty, which aired before B&B in Poland. And the show was also always perceived as girly or for grandmas only (I think in America it was thought of as a show for housewives). If a boy watched it or worse - enjoyed it - he was labelled weirdo or gay. That's why I was quite ashamed at the beginning and didn't tell anyone, but nowadays no one seems to care. I've got one friend who likes B&B, but she's not watching in regularly any longer.

Y&R and B&B seemed to have much less detailed spoilers than other shows. It would be more like a vague description of what would happen that week than day to day breakdowns. I liked that because there was still so much genuine surprise. I remember once someone wrote a letter so Soap Opera Digest complaining that Y&R and B&B were the most boring soaps. They "proved it" by the fact that the spoilers were not specific therefore nothing ever happened on the shows. The editors actually had to put in a clarification that the Bell shows chose not to give daily spoilers as policy.

I guess that was the point. Plus the Friday cliffhangers :D We were so behind the US that the channel started airing two episodes per day, even on weekends at one point. The descriptions were obviously more detailed in magazines. I remember the day my family installed the Internet. I looked up B&B and the first thing I saw was Darla's death. I still recall that shock (it was around 2007 and at that point we had the episodes from 2001) when I read about Darla's story as we still had her as just a quite stupid secretary. Then I found out Taylor is gonna die and come back, I had enough of spoilers and decided to just watch without it :D

One thing that fascinated me was B&B was so much more popular than Y&R even though Y&R was #1 in the US and the more serious show.... I guess it had a lot to do with the format with B&B being 30 minutes and a smaller cast and simpler storyline to follow with only a couple of core families. B&B seemed to have caught on like fire everywhere whereas Y&R really caught on in France but got cancelled in other countries like Italy.

It's very good question. Why do we love B&B so much? :D I could never fathom it out. I guess Bell created such a wonderful world with amazing characters and good actors that made it irresistible not to watch.

As for Y&R, in Poland another channel broadcast it for a short period, but they just randomly selected episodes form 2001-2002 I think. I remember waking up at 7 a.m. and watching it. I recall a story with Rick Hearst, he was inside the mind of some crazy chick Tricia? There was supposed to be a wedding, and she attacked the bride and took her place at the altar. I think Victor escaped from some trial to that wedding? :D I was a kid, but I remember that because I was surprised to see crazy Whip Jones there :D  But it never gained the popularity of B&B

  10. I loved the times when I had no Internet or magazines, there were no spoilers form the US as we were almost 8 years behind with the episodes. Those were still the times of Poland re-birth after the fall of communism. The TV was practically the sole source of entertainment and the Poles were fascinated with the American world and lifestyle and it started even before B&B, when Dynasty was first on air. But B&B was already a huge success in Europe as Germany, France, Italy and other countries had broadcast it even sooner. In Poland, it was so popular that you didn't have to watch it to know the character, plots, etc. There still is some interest as it has been 5 years now since the show was moved to the Internet, and they're still buying new episodes :)

  11. How interesting. I'm not surprised though :D soap operas are probably more popular in European countries, and nowadays in the Netflix era it's like a dying genre. But still, B&B is called "world's most watched drama" and it must be very popular in Australia or Netherlands, otherwise they wouldn't buy the first three seasons.

  12. Same here :D At the beginning it was very successful and popular (we didn't have many shows or tv channels in the 90s). But in time it started to be mocked and used as a synonym of sth endless, boring, even incestuous and associated with the show for grandmas o only (which is quite correct, I also started watching it with mine). Everything due to B&B being still the longest running TV show in my country, but since it has been stopped being broadcast in TV few years ago, people don't care about it anymore and the youngsters don't even know it. But judging by the popularity of Marek Logan's channel, Polish fans love to go back to the classics.

I have to say i hate it that stories are so bredictable - ruins all the fun!

That's why having the original first seasons is so good! To hear those dialogues, see the intricate storylines... I love to just engage in those golden years.

I know many people did not like the music in B&B but i was attracted to it - Macy and Thorne, Pierre soon to come :) it gave a romantic note to everyting :)

Loved it too :D I read so many negative comments on Jeff as Thorne, especially with his alleged soft side when compared to Calyton. But I liked him very much. He and Macy were very cute and music bringing them closer was a very natural move.

Yep, he's really proud of his work, that's for sure, judging by the way he behaves or talks in the interviews. Even now, when they re-air the classics, it seems that "classic" is every episode that has been already aired, no matter the date. But the choice of e.g. celebrity week? No offence, but who the hell are Gina Rodriguez or Kike Hernandez? Why not the episodes with Joseph Campanella, Charlton Heston or Stephanie Beacham? Soo many to choose from! But it seems we'll be stuck with Big Brother's "stars" and the likes of Emma Barber...

And this continuous penchant for Logan family... Since 2006 he recast every single member apart from Brooke and brought them all back. It really became the Logan sisters show at one point, which I was personally frustrated about. I read an interview with somebody from the cast and during her last days on the show, Susan reportedly asked "what has happened to this show".

i think since Brad not one single story is complete - Ridge and Quinn - could have been huge! Bringing Deacon back a few times - nothing. Sheila! could have been great (i know she left for a politica career) but why not bring her now, James - mentioning Mary - nothing! and so many other stories - just in the trush

    Yes, yes, yes!!!

I have mixed feelings about Ridge & Quinn. For once, I got really interested in the storyline - the hatred turned into love. Maybe classic plot, but really well played. I'm actually glad that it ended with Quinn confessing his love for Ridge and turning her back, it was very natural to end it and letting her be with Eric (four years of the marriage in this soap nowadays is a huge success :D). Plus, they probably needed her with Eric for the fights with Sheila. I'm more intrigued by the Eric/Katie storyline, which was neither love story nor friendship story, something in between, but also just aborted.

I jumped when they brought Sheila back and then mentioned Mary. But now I think she shouldn't have returned. It was already confusing for Y&R viewers, because of the whole plastic surgeries stories, but we were presented with somehow weak version of Sheila, who kept apologizing and giving in to Quinn. If they had to make her soft, she could be paired up with Eric again - that would be something! Bringing back Mary would be cool too, but again - I think that the writers don't want to complicate their stories any longer. Everything is now predictable and so easy. That's why I was surprised they decided to drag on Beth's storyline for so long, like in the classic days. It had the potential to be dragged on for years even, but viewers demanded that she was returned to Liam and Hope.

Plus, we're still in the dark as far as other Sheila's children are concerned. I think only Mary and Diana were ever mentioned/introduced in B&B.

I think it was good up until 2002

2003 was not so bad either. Portofino, Puerto Vista, Macy's and Sheila's returns, Ridge finding out about his paternity... One thing I couldn't get accustomed to was Susan's natural hairstyle :D I remember missing her blond wig that she used to wear since 2000 I think.
