  1. And of course, Dominic Treadwell Collins is still employed at EastEnders, and I don't think he'll be going anywhere anytime soon. He appears to be loved by John Yorke and BBC One. Collins is the one essentially in charge of the story department and the writers.
  2. I think that's likely, he only came back to write Dot's single-handed episode that aired in early '08 because John Yorke came to him personally and he liked the content that was being explored. I don't think he'll be messing too much with the writers at EastEnders. BBC One and John Yorke seem to be operating under the mindset that nothing is wrong with the show at the moment, and the press and ratings are generally backing them up on it. So, if he wants to make massive, not subtle, changes, I don't think it will be allowed. Supposedly, he has a very clean reputation. The massive changes he was allowed to make at Hollyoaks were only because Tony Wood and the brass at Lime were intent on revamping the show, which was thought to be in dire condition before he got there. EastEnders is a different animal, of course. I don't expect massive culls behind the scenes to happen at once, maybe gradually, but not too fast. Hell, Kirkwood's already been there a month, and the only news we have of him is that he's hired Zoe Lucker to play a new character and Kat and Alfie will be returning. It doesn't seem like he's starting off with something too excessive.
  3. Actually, Crash will air its second series soon, and supposedly, he's got lots more projects in development. Few episodes are one thing, but can they land him back permanently? It seems like he lost some of his luster by the time he last left the show as well.
  4. I thought Tony Jordan gave up EastEnders to focus on his production company. Somehow, I think it will be a surprise if he ever returns.
  5. Ryan and Janine today. In the beginning of the episode Ryan asked her to say those three little words, and then in the final part of the episode as Ryan gets on the train to leave, their scene was: Janine: This past year, it's been really, really bad. It started bad, and well, it just got gradually worse. Everything I thought I wanted - I lost. The Vic, Archie, ::sigh::, Archie's money. But I don't need it. I don't need any of it. Ryan: So, what do you need?! Janine: ::Sigh:: You. Then Janine counts I. LOVE. YOU. on three of her fingers. And then Ryan and Janine kiss. What a cowardly way for Stacey to slip that letter into Ryan's bag as he leaves to inform him he's the father of her baby. With Janine and Ryan now official, Stacey's revelation should get in the way. I wonder what crazy thing Janine will pull once she finds out. I don't know what the hell Danny is planning against the Mitchell sisters. I'm strangely intrigued though. The Danielle stuff between Ronnie and Stacey was very well-done and how Ronnie looked like she wanted to punch Janine as Janine remembers it's the once year anniversary of her running over Danielle. I wish they'd get Whitney away from Billie. I think she could be a compelling character if they developed her better and got her away from Billie.
  6. Thanks! I'm looking forward to the Janine and Ryan stuff today. I absolutely LOVED the expression on Ryan's face when he told her he loved her and then went on to say how she was the most horrendous person he's ever met yesterday.
  7. Is Lyn Papadopoulos still at Hollyoaks? I remember her writing some of my favourite Hollyoaks episodes during the Bryan Kirkwood era. I hope Kirkwood can pick her up for EastEnders if he's interested in a past writer he's worked with before.
  8. Was doing some digging and found her Tweets. It's probably not some grand event, but she made it out to be something big as she's only coming back to write just two episodes and claimed she wouldn't if the content wasn't as good.
  9. I don't know, but she left EastEnders to write for the UK version of Law & Order, and claims she was lured back to EastEnders to do these these two episodes only because they're a huge event of some kind. Who knows... In yesterday's credits, Sharon Batten was listed as the Script Producer, and Caroline Ormerod was listed as the Script Editor. Of course the Script Editor varies depending on the episode. I know Helen Jenkins was listed as the Script Editor on Tuesday. Looking forward to watching Friday's episode. Janine and Ryan.
  10. LOL! at Adam dancing in his wheelchair. Darren can be an interesting and funny character outside of this Libby/Adam crap. The actress that plays Lauren will be very pretty in a few years when she grows into her looks. I have to laugh at Abi being much taller than Lauren though, even though Lauren is older. Danny's overprotectiveness of Roxy is a bit weird and almost borders on incest. It feels like he's attracted to his damn sister. I have to laugh at Jack being shot and Devon Anderson doing those heavy emotional scenes in the hospital. Lindsey Coulson CARRIED those heavy emotional scenes. Ben's little temper tantrum. But I did feel sorry for him. It's obvious that Stella's abuse is still effecting him. She's scarred him for life. I, of course, loved the Ryan and Janine scenes towards the end of the episode: Ryan: The reason I couldn't go though with all of this - you pimping me out. Is ... I'm in love with you Janine! I mean you're the most HORRENDOUS human being I've ever met in my life, but I'm so completely and utterly in love with you. It makes me sick! Alright, now it's your turn Janine: Whaaat? Ryan: You've gotta say it! 'Cause I know you feel the same and then we'll REALLY have a chance, and I WANT THAT, JANINE! I WANT THAT MORE THAN ANYTHING ... but you've got to say it! Come on, tell me you love me. Please! Say it! ::Janine conceals her feelings and stands still as Ryan leaves to go to the train station:: Looking forward to more of this in Friday's episode.
  11. You must be thinking of Brigie de Courcy, who was the Series Story Producer during the awful Kate Harwood era. Brigie is now EP of the ailing Irish soap Fair City.
  12. Emilia di Girolamo didn't mention who the Script Editor was in her Tweets. Emilia's only written episodes for EastEnders in 2008 and 2009, so she wasn't around for the 2006 period.
  13. Apparently, Emilia di Girolamo was lured back to EastEnders to write one final episode that's "big." I wonder who her favourite Script Editor is? I think she originally left EastEnders to write for the UK edition of Law & Order.
  14. I'll miss Tiana, I always thought she was spunky and had a lot of screen presence. Though, I don't think they've known what to do with Chelsea for some time now.
  15. I don't know, I think I always saw that they had feelings for one another underneath it all, but were too proud to admit it. They've developed a strange co-dependency with one another, I think it's only natural. Then again, I know quite a few relationships that started this way. And yeah, it's probably done so they can cause a rift whenever it's revealed Ryan is the father of Stacey's baby. With Stacey's luck, I'm wondering if that baby will even live to see his/her first birthday. It all just looks so romantic in pictures. LOL!
  16. You're probably going to puke Carl, but I am looking forward to Friday's episode when Janine declares her love for Ryan as he leaves. The spoiler pics look very sweet and romantic. LOL! I love scenes like that. You know, when one person is leaving, but the person that loves them and wants them to stay goes after them and gets them in the end and they share a kiss. LOL! I like Janine and Ryan.
  17. Jack Branning? LOL
  18. He was killed off on the Christmas 2009 episode. and it was revealed that Stacey killed him on the live episode that aired on Friday 19 February 2010.
  19. I hear Stacey, Ronnie, and Janine will all remember the one year anniversary of Danielle's death on Friday.
  20. Ryan Malloy/Neil McDermott is a hot piece of ass... I hate Billy, but I really like Whitney and I hope they intend to pair her with someone else or explore other story options with her. LOL! at Janine using Morgan to get rent money. I love Janine, despite the havoc she always causes for herself. Roxy whoring her salon was funny too. God, I love the obviously homosexual Ben. Phil (holding the Hairspray soundtrack CD): Are you sure you wanna keep this? Ben: Yeah! ::nodding::. Becca is weird as hell for waning to "raise" Stacey's baby with her. Oh no, don't tell me Kylie is gonna shoot poor Whitney!
  21. I just noticed that Lacey Turner looks a lot like Lauren Conrad, just with darker hair. LOL!
  22. I'm probably crazy, but I find Craig Gazey/Graeme Proctor so damn adorable.
  23. Mylène Farmer - California
  24. Ugh, Billie Jackson and that whole ghetto teen crew just ruin everything. I had to laugh at their little fake stick up at The Queen Vic. I hope most of these characters are written out soon, they're just horrible to watch. Devon Anderson is just a rotten actor. He was not very effective in those kitchen scenes with Max, Jack, and Carol in today's episode. Billy Mitchell asking Carol out on a date. You know, despite the horrible set of characters she's involved with, I actually kind of like Whitney and the actress that plays her. Something about her seems very sympathetic. Poor Shirley degrading herself just to win points with Phil and so that he can get Louise back from Social Services. Jean is seriously disturbing to me. Adam, Libby, and Darren's love triangle = Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
  25. I'm not gonna lie, the demented part of me had a brief good laugh when Aaron came back into the house and Paddy was on the floor afraid and jumped up like someone who was undergoing electroshock therapy.
