  1. Rita's/Roxy's hair has been looking nice lately too...
  2. Rudolph Walker is so underrated and was so underused for years, he really showed today what a great actor he can be when he's written for. Seeing Patrick crack and breakdown and trying to disguise it was hard to watch, it was a very effective portrayal. They've done a really good job with the resonance and aftermath of Denise' "death" and how it impacts everyone close to her. I don't usually care for Christian and Syed, but I did like Syed's conversation with Tamwar at Christian's flat. The one where Syed told Tamwar how out and proud Christian is about being gay, and how that isn't who he is as a person. At least he recognized how differently he and Christian deal with things and being gay. Samantha Womack and Rita Simons were really great in Ronnie and Roxy's scenes. It was interesting how fast the dynamic changed as Roxy started to believe Ronnie and then Ronnie had to console her. Ronnie is more like a mother figure to Roxy in ways Glenda will never be able to be. They also touched upon the reason for this, which was Ronnie trying to protect herself from Archie. Lucas was just freaking me out in that last scene, "I'll take care of you and the girls!" On to Denise's funeral tomorrow... I think he sees Chelsea and Libby as a painful reflection of Denise and her loss, whereas he's never been close with Lucas and Jordan. He also mentioned at the end of the episode how much he thought he "failed" Denise and would have done the same thing to her girls.
  3. Den's murder story might have been a mess in some instances, but I thought it provided some very good moments for Chrissie, Sam, Zoe, Sharon, and Kat (when she came back). I also think it was the story that really established Stacey as a character on the show, as she provided that alibi for Zoe and got to interact with many different characters at this time.
  4. God, I loved Chrissie. She was so funny, yet dark as hell. I also thought bipolar Stacey crashing Trina's burial was funny as hell, too. Lacey Turner sold the hell out of it though. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
  5. Simon Crowther is a crap writer, but he's been writing for Corrie before Kim even got there. He did write for Hollyoaks pre-Kirkwood, though.
  6. Phil Collinson's first credited episode of Corrie is next Monday, 26th July. Jonathan Harvey will be the Writer.
  7. Kirkwood said something about this while he was at Hollyoaks, so maybe he's applying that philosophy at this show or will in the future. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/tm_objectid=17095372&method=full&siteid=66633&headline=my-plot-to-clean-up-at-the-tv-soap-awards--name_page.html
  8. Apparently, the peak figure for last night's episode was 9.2 million at 8 PM. I heard this episode didn't even get much promotion, and the fact that it did so well in a summer month is astounding to me. Kudos to the show for doing so well in the summer, which used to traditionally be a tough time for soap ratings.
  9. Apparently, his last episode will air on September 14th. He'll be writing for Holby City now and has original series in development at Red Planet with Simon Winstone and Tony Jordan. I see he has his own site: http://colinwyatt.com/
  10. Ratings were VERY strong for last night's episode: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2/eastenders/news/a247665/ronnie-reveal-attracts-88m-for-enders.html
  11. I don't mind he Costello's so far, and I love what a bitch Heidi was to Cheryl. Did you know the actress who plays Jem actually auditioned for Rae? Lucy Allan liked her so much she created Jem just for her. I kind of felt bad for Darren with that dog business....
  12. Apparently, Lucy Benjamin's one-off return as Lisa is August 5th, and some are speculating that
  13. First pics of Jimmy and Nicola being the new owners of The Woolpack: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s12/emmerdale/scoop/a247277/first-pics-all-change-at-the-woolpack.html I've never found Nicola Wheeler to be an attractive woman. Her nose bothers me and her body and head especially seems weirdly shaped. Her current hairstyle is very unflattering too.
  14. Today's episode: I think they did a really good job of showcasing Patrick's hurt and anger over Denise's "death." they didn't have to and could have ignored him, but I thought it was really important to see Patrick's perspective, and they delivered on that today. I didn't so much mind Christian and Syed today. They seemed to be doing normal things, and at least they touched upon the faith issue and with Christian wanting to know more about Islam and the impact it has on Syed's life. Today's episode also did well in showcasing how torn Tamwar is between supporting his parents and supporting Syed. That little scene between Dot and Zainab at the Minute Mart was funny. I thought Samantha Womack was really good in the rape reveal scenes, especially with Roxy and that little spat they had over it. I wonder if Glenda already suspected this. Womack didn't overdo the dramatics like in typical reveals, she was subtle and trying hard to hide her tears, but cracked and it was an effective portrayal for someone as cold and detached as Ronnie. The repercussions of this reveal seem to be far from over, especially in regards to Ronnie's relationship with Peggy, and with Glenda using this wedge between them to her advantage. I LOVE Kim Fox, so fierce and so unashamed to be herself. I loved when she roasted Lucas' ass and blamed him for sucking all the joy and personalty out of Denise's life. Kim is such a fun character to watch. Yeah, I notice the square is a bustling and vibrant community again with tons of people just walking and hanging around. It was one of the things Kirkwood said he wanted to bring back to the show, and I guess he is.
  15. Betty Driver is staying put: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s3/coronation-street/news/a247107/betty-driver-im-staying-with-corrie.html
  16. Well, at least the ratings for yesterday's episode was the highest they've had in months. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s3/coronation-street/news/a247098/soaps-ratings-roundup-july-19.html
  17. No, it doesn't look like it, probably early August. Having read the detailed spoilers for next week, it doesn't look like Lucas is caught or figured out in any way next week. In fact, it seems like the Foxes/Johnson's don't appear all that much, though they're still present. It seems like there's more to this story than they're letting out...
  18. Steve McFadden claims he almost quit when Barbara Windsor decided to leave: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2/eastenders/news/a247026/mcfadden-i-nearly-quit-enders-this-year.html
  19. Short preview clip of Denise "funeral" that will air this Friday: <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULSxv9_wqUU&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULSxv9_wqUU&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULSxv9_wqUU&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
  20. Ohhh, so the Gold's are Jewish, as I guessed months ago. But Jodie says she isn't really religious in that spoiler, but still, it's interesting that they've made that family Jewish. I see they're also setting up next week It also looks like Roxy puts
  21. Today's episode wasn't bad, mainly because it was McQueen-centric. Gemma Merna and Jorgie Porter were really good in it. Why does Cheryl have to be in every f.ucking episode? And being the first one to greet Carl Costello? Really? Glad he upstaged her about being the new owner of The Dog though. The McQueen montage set to an acoustic version of Girls Just Wanna Fun was a bit weird... Carmel: I'm gonna keep my mouth shut until the baby is born .... then I'm gonna go down to the station and tell them everything this family has been up to. Only Carl Costello appeared today, just briefly. Val was in briefly too. This episode was 90% McQueen's.
