Yeah, I'm glad she has found some success....though I feel like that doesn't have to be about her walking around topless....LOL, KM does deserve to be apart or even star in her own primetime show......I agree I can only tolerate them recasting for so long...whether it's Y&R or B&B I just wish they would stick to one that works and not do anything, but when you think about it, it's usually their fault for not coming up with better material....I hate to say I almost feel guilty for liking some of the current recasts just because their part has gotten recast time and time again.... I wish Brad Bell sometimes wouldn't rely too much on the international success or whatever he thinks it is that has made the show successful with all the triangles over the years.....yes Brooke/Ridge/Taylor is a successful triangle but everything with the younger generation just hasn't worked out as well...at least as far as we the fans are concerned,so it's just better if they had dropped all that nonsense.....yeah Ivy/Steffy was interesting only cause I thought it would be refreshing to see 2 family members fight over Liam, but then it just turned into a mess with all the accidents.....yeah I have know idea why they can't do Bill/Steffy again, as I think it would explain a lot and like I said if Liam would leave in a huff because of that (hell, maybe he should just decide offscreen he's going to Europe to reunite with Hope LOL) it would be great to see! LOL I would love for Ridge just to explode on Bill though for being such a big hypocrict in regards to Bill getting with his daughter... haha yeah and before that I'm sure everyone was waiting for LML to get shown the door and she lasted the shortest....it kind of gulls me now that they dare think Pratt is better then her...since you figured one of the reasons LML was fired was because they were so horrified at everything she did, but yet somehow they accept the antics of JFP and Pratt....and I get so sick of the "oh the ratings keep going up".....you are telling me it wasn't the same thing with LML cause she did lots of shocking things.....I just don't get it... I'm gonna have to make a list of everything I have uploaded....I did that a while ago but I updated a bit of videos lately so it will be nice for everyone to have an organize list.....I'm so excited for those episodes! I still haven't gotten the ones I ordered.....I don't even know if the check was delivered yet and with all the snow we got backing everything up I have a feeling it will be a while...:( I'm sure some of the beginning Pheila stuff was written with Kimberlin in mind, but once they realized it wasn't working out as plan or had decided to kill her if that's what they weren't going to do originally , they just had Stafford ham it up as Pheila.... haha Agreed. As long as she hasn't had to resort to doing that with every subsequent role. As for recasts, I almost hate to say it, and in fact it downright KILLS me, but I've finally accepted TK as Ridge. I'm at that point now, it was the same with Burgess Jenkins on Y&R. Oh, the whole Ivy/Steffy thing died for me the second Aly was killed. I hated the entire rest of the storyline, I mean my god, and I thought everyone on Y&R was acting out of character! Ugh, I better not get into that storyline because we'll just be here all day I have to say though, that short period where Liam was with Steffy, and Ivy was with Wyatt, and nobody was competing for anybody or there were no admissions of undying love, I liked that, I was glad to see the back of all that love triangle drama. And then the accidents started happening, and suddenly Ivy's not over Liam...I've got nothing. I have to say, I'm dying to see Quinn involved in this storyline now. I haven't watched the past two weeks or so, but I'm hoping she's the saving grace of all this. Didn't LML get fired over supporting the writer's strike or something? I can't remember if that's the case, but I remember reading an article where one of the actresses, who was unidentified but I'm positive it was Michelle Stafford, didn't hold back on how glad she was that LML was gone. I wonder how the cast took to MAB? I heard something about a beef with her and Sharon Case, but I never really looked much into it to tell whether it had any grounds or was just a rumour. As for Pratt and JFP's reign, they've actually made me appreciate LML AND MAB's reign! By no means do I consider them good, but at least with LML's Y&R to an extent looked and sounded like Y&R, and MAB at least made an effort to try and get back some of the old cast members and characters that hadn't been on the canvas in a long time, such as Adam, Patty and Diane. They all may not have worked, but I'll give her credit for trying. I know what you mean. I did mine through PayPal, but I don't think the episodes have been posted yet. Oh well haha I did that myself tonight. I'm currently moving houses, and I wanted to make sure I had copies and a list of everything Y&R, B&B and GH-related. Oh, speaking of GH, I've started trying to watch on a regular basis again. I've even tried getting into DOOL. I'd believe either version of events to tell you the truth. When the storyline started, I could almost imagine Kimberlin acting out some of the dialogue, such as when Pheila was telling Paul about being with 'Scott, and Scotty', and Lauren ruining it for her. But then I hear and see other sh*t that she spouts, such as her joke about Paul taking her out for a walk, and yelling and screaming at Phyllis while spitting out the apple...i couldn't even imagine that being written for MS it's that hammy!!- B&B: Old/Classic Discussion & Articles
Yeah I did too.....and it was nice not having either Hope OR Steffy on for a while but of course that didn't last............KM seems to have landed a few roles lately (including one where she showed her "you know whats", LOL) but I'm sure they will just recast Hope at some point......now that she's been mentioned lately you know it's coming....I would just honestly give Hope and Steffy a fresh start and realize it was silly feuding over Liam of all people.....they totally overdid it with the triangle so I feel like them being friends would be a lot more pleasant IMO......Liam can go for all I care......I would laugh if Steffy finally realizing she should go back to Bill is what sends Liam packing.... I freaking hate Y&R's soundtrack......it's every bit of generic as all the other soaps....(even B&B's music isn't as good) but what were we suppose to expect....? The thought of JFP and Pratt getting pushed out someday and then having someone who wants the old feel of the show back along with the music, would truly be a dream come true.....I can almost picture that happening maybe 5 years from now if Y&R is lucky.....haha. I think those were from me....LOL my old channel that was public for a couple years was passnum1 (I forgot if you knew that) so I did upload those 2 episodes originally......I wouldn't be surprise if saynotoursoap also had those dates as I contacted him once and he told me he basically hand a handful of Sheila episodes...but he said he had the episodes where Lauren's "baby" Dylan dies....and Rex's funeral.....and I definitely do not have those episodes yet...haha. I agree, I wouldn't know honestly if Lauren knew how much havoc Michael caused all those years ago....I feel like if the character is reformed they always suger coat it by saying things like "I made a lot of mistakes" or "I did some unforgiving stuff" not really giving the impressing of what they did exactly....It's hard to be certain but I do wonder if Kimberlin was suppose to be back longer if it weren't for her being in her accident......I shudder to think they would have still killed her anyways even though they did Pheila.....but apparently LML wanted to "finish the story" and that indicates Sheila's demise.... haha Oh yes, I do remember the shocking headlines that KM had landed a pretty raunchy role in some movie. I was relieved at the time, I figured that was a sure sign she'd be gone for quite a while. But, to top off my admission of missing the character in a way, I dread the thought of a recast. I've disliked every rendition of Bridget ever since Jennifer Finnigan left, I hope history doesn't repeat itself there. Exactly. I really hope the whole Hope/Steffy thing isn't us having to put up with them fighting over a man for the next 15 years. I could never imagine any woman or man putting up with as much screwing around as these three, now Ivy added into the mix. Granted, I do like the Steffy/Ivy dynamic because they do seem alike in so many ways. And as for Bill, I would actually rather see a Bill/Steffy pairing again over Brooke/Bill/Katie. I find it amusing that with those two, their relationship seems to work for me, but Ridge/Caroline just does not. I cannot accept that the man that married her aunt nearly thirty years ago is now married to her niece, I just cannot do it. haha It is sad that only a few years ago we were dreaming of the day that MAB was kicked to the curve, and now this is happening. Granted, I'm pretty much long past the days of dreaming for them to at least try and emulate the Y&R feel. I can't even narrow down to when exactly they last did that. haha I'm pretty sure it was your channel. I almost completely forgot about it. I actually do still have the two farmhouse episodes from saynotoursoap on my old computer packed away somewhere in my house. In fact, there may be a lot more Y&R stuff on there that I may have backed up on it if they haven't been erased. B&B also. Oh, speaking of this, I finally got around to ordering the Paul and Christine hit and run storyline. Yeah, I also remember hearing about LML just wanting to be rid of Sheila altogether. I'm not sure how far in advance scripts for Y&R are written, but since Kimberlin confirmed she was asked to come back, I have to wonder if, and if so, how much of that storyline was rewritten to suit the plastic surgery add-on. I can't lie, there are things in that storyline that I do like and can imagine was written for Kimberlin, but then there's A LOT that seems so rushed and so thrown in there at the last minute. Especially Pheila's final week, that entire climax of the storyline was so freaking OTT that it was unbelievably embarrassing.- B&B: Old/Classic Discussion & Articles
Oh yes I love it when they start out with the creepier background music, letting you know the villain will be front and center that day.....then it's always funny where they have to go to lighter scenes for some tension relief and they always seem to use that slow peaceful Violin music to contrast the scenes(3/7/91 for example when Nina is confronting David before she shoots him and then it jumps back to Paul at the hospital with Lynne when Lauren was about to give birth to Scotty)......That's why it's always so amazing when they have Katherine and Jill scenes play out the same episode as Sheila and Lauren scenes cause they really liked to show the contrast with Kay and Jill being the comic relief (for the most part)....despite their even bitter feud....That high pitched music box music that is played on the start of the 2/4/92 episode above always gives off more of a Sheila vibe to me.....It's one of my favorite cues but the fact that it has more of a distorted sound is pretty creepy......... Hope did get very irritable towards the end and her playing both Wyatt and Liam, was just as bad as Liam playing her and Steffy and now him playing Ivy and Steffy (though I guess Steffy/Liam are suppose to be endgame....rolls eyes.....) I still wish people would have open their eyes more in regards to Steffy.....I could get Bill rooting for her cause he was almost with her himself (part of the reason why I think he's so obsessive of her being with Liam) but minus a few scenes I don't think Hope really deserved to get slammed by Bill as much as she did....I was kind of annoyed recently when Brooke was talking to Bill and Katie about Hope being in Monte Carlo, that Bill sort of rolled his eyes....like she's been out of the picture for over a year now and he's still being a prick about her......even though despite playing Liam and Wyatt she almost gave him a grandchild...... as for Ivy, it's hard to root for her, but I feel like she was thrown under the bus for Steffy once she came back. LOL thank goodness once Lauren came back for good in 2001 she grew it out again.......I said this before but some women on soaps can make short hair work like Katherine and some just need to stick to longer hair......yes I forgot about Ashley in 2002 LOL I didn't know that saynotoyoursoap had that episode? I know he said he had a bit of early 90's which sadly he never got around to uploading....(damn youtube) but I just remember those 2 farmhouse episodes being his big Y&R uploads..... It's funny cause I feel like you almost have had to watch all of Sheila's 2005 stint before watching that scene with Michael meeting her.......I can't explain why but that's how I felt when I first saw that scene. Yeah I wish both Sheila and Michael had flashbacked to meeting each other cause She did look up Michael, while he was digging for info on her.......I feel like it would have been even better if once he heard the last name Grainger that would have triggered something inside of him and he would be like "I met this woman"..... I honestly still don't get however why they didn't include Cricket in most of the 2005 stuff along with maybe some of the flashbacks she could have remembered like the dinner party....it was more like "Oh yeah I had a brother and a nephew but I haven't seen him in years....Lauren and I aren't close enough to talk about it....." I really wish we would have gotten a reaction from Sheila on Michael stalking Cricket Scott's sister.....so much was overlooked when you think about it............. Oh, I rejoiced when I found out KM was leaving just so that love triangle would just die already. To be truthful, I think Ivy's been annoying me almost as much lately. Instead of her blaming Steffy for 'stealing' Liam away, I'd just love it if she called him out for being a spineless and gutless weasel, and not kissing his ass so much. I cannot believe that three women are in love with this guy, they might as well just arrange to have him in monthly intervals by this point. I hate to bag on current Y&R again, because in a few years I pretty much have zero doubt what's airing now will be tolerable by comparison, but that is one of the more annoying aspects of JFP's reign: the music. It actually cheapens the show for me, I despise it. I don't think they could have compiled a more generic soundtrack if they tried. Hell, at least LML and MAB for the most part stayed consistent with using the old cues. I think it was saynotoursoap. I found quite a few episodes that I'm sure we're on their channel once upon a time, such as the Grainger dinner and a 1990 episode where Sheila voices her opinion on Lauren to Scott, followed by her daydreaming about a life with him. Hell, this might have even been when you first started uploading now that I think about it. It was quite a while ago. One thing I did appreciate during the scenes with Sheila digging up info on Michael was her horror that Lauren was able to forgive Michael for his horrible past. Like I've said in the past, not that I ever really root for Sheila despite loving her dastardly deeds, I would have been curious if that didn't absolutely infuriate her. 2005 definitely had its fair share of problems. But I do wonder what they had planned for Kimberlin when she was due to return at the end of 2006. They seemed so excited to have her back and intent on keeping her around for a while. It's a shame things turned out the way they did.- B&B: Old/Classic Discussion & Articles
It just set the tone of both shows immediately. I actually mentioned this in a seminar I did at college recently, I used the opening to 10/04/1991 as an example. That ungodly creepy music cue I used to only be able to associate with Sheila, but David is the first person to come to mind nowadays. That truly was a morbid, eerie, sadistic storyline, and I loved every second of it I actually picked up on that too. Steffy's antics definitely remind me of Brooke's early years with Eric and Ridge more than anything. I used to utterly loathe Hope, but I have to admit, after going over some 2014 episodes recently, I actually miss her. Hell, I don't even mind Ivy dare I say it. The only thing I have to say on that one is I would love it if they stopped giving her the victim card to play, I would love it if her devilish side came out and she went up against Steffy or Quinn. hahaha Oh, you didn't think I was going to let that one slide did you? haha Yeah, I remember that being a thing for a while there. Hell, I just have to go through my photo albums, people such as my aunt and my mother had that hairdo and do not have fond memories of it I remember Ashley had a similar hairstyle around 2002 wasn't it? Wow, thanks for that! I actually remember seeing this episode on YT years ago, I think it was on saynotoursoap's channel. I'm surprised I didn't remember that scene. I'm absolutely digging how intrigued Michael was about her too. Oh, if only he knew I am surprised that scene was never used for the 2005 flashbacks. But, as you said, even if they did forget about this scene entirely, you could narrow it down to Michael himself just forgetting, considering how much happened between them meeting and her return over 10 years later. It would have been a sweet scene however, in the opening to 08/08/2005 when Michael was going through the GC archives, if he saw her face and recognised her. I would buy it if he only knew her as Sheila Grainger to begin with.- Y&R: Old Articles
The more I see of Lester, the more I love him. Bergman is the only Jack I've ever known, so I'm a tad bias, but all the same, I see two completely different sides to Jack when I watch either performance. Oh, I have no doubt that even if Victor did bite the bullet again, they'd just pull another Stefano and bring him back anyway. I have to say, I did get my hopes up when Patty shot him back in 2009. Same here, I was sure I was going to be ripped to shreds confessing my preference of Nelson to Stafford. Hell, I'm almost tempted to say I like her a bit more than Gina Tognoni, but I can't recall seeing anything just yet that I can compare to her two predecessors.- B&B: Old/Classic Discussion & Articles
I love that CBS Sterosound logo as well. The one thing I despise the most in regards to the first 'Best of' DVD release is they edited them out at the beginning of each episode, and not with much care because you can just hear the last section of the music cues they'd play over it. Oh, I know what you mean, I LOVE Quinn! I'm disappointed Stephanie isn't around to witness all the chaos that she's caused. Can you imagine the hell she'd raise if she was around to discover her son nearly died in that helicopter accident because of Quinn and Bill? I'm hoping this is just the calm before the storm. I was worried after she nearly killed Liam that she wouldn't be around for much longer. Jill really has lost that larger than life sense of style hasn't she. Hell, no matter how campy an outfit looks, she somehow manages to make it look good. I absolutely HATED that shorter cut she adopted for all those years. Still, the one character out of everybody that made shout 'Oh, hell no!' in terms of hair style was Lauren back in 2000 when she had it cut beyond short. Oh wow, Sheila and Michael had met previously? I had zero idea. I can't even remember if it was mentioned in any of those 2005 flashbacks or what, but I was always under the impression they'd never met until she returned to GC. Good for Bill Bell though. If that was his intention to give Sheila and David a scene just for the hell of it, at least he was clearly having fun writing all of this.- Y&R: Old Articles
I'm almost tempted to say that I'm completely disappointed about Ryan's death, but I'd be lying if I said that wasn't a riveting way for him to leave the show. Those were great episodes to watch. I always laugh my ass off whenever I see Victor throw the chair through that window and jump out into the streets I'm glad to hear he's still getting work. I remember watching The Wolf of Wall Street for the first time and thinking 'I know that reporter from somewhere', and wouldn't you know it, it was Sandra Nelson. I couldn't believe it. I was actually gunning for them to get her back after MS departed, but I'm glad they didn't. Although I abhor the stepford wife routine that Phyllis has adopted, GT's just that good an actress, and whenever the old Phyllis comes out, she sells it. The thing with MS' Phyllis was that, although I loved her devilish ways, she could be such a pantomime villain and campy. Sandra's Phyllis for me seemed like a serious and genuine threat under all circumstances. A lot of people I know consider MS the most evil, but I've always thought Sandra Nelson was the darker one out of the three.- B&B: Old/Classic Discussion & Articles
I would probably go with B&B having the better production design. At least when I look at it, I feel like I'm watching Bold, even if the writing isn't...well, great, or even passable. That's what I loved about the Brooke/Sheila dynamic. Them bonding over their hatred of Stephanie was just great. It was nice to finally see Stephanie up against someone completely out of control and willing to go to limits that only she would go to once upon a time. I'm just disappointed they never crossed paths again after 2002. Was Sheila's final reign of terror in GC ever acknowledged on B&B? hahaha Oh, I laughed until I cried at Jill's handywork on David. The look on Katherine's face just made it even better Oh yeah, I remember you telling me about that scene in John Silva's office. I don't think I could have tracked that episode down faster if I tried, I was over the moon when I saw that. I had to chuckle at his comment about them. If only he knew, I almost get the feeling he'd admire Sheila for her equally twisted ways.- Y&R: Old Articles
I don't really recall Ryan's character at all when I was watching his final years, but seeing his stint from the beginning has made me disappointed that he's no longer around. And as for Nina, oh god yes, her slapping Phyllis was FANTASTIC! That has to be some of the best dialogue exchange in a long time: Phyllis: "This coming you, the person who trademarked lying, cheating tramp." Nina: "Only because you'd trademarked greedy, sneaky whore!" Oh, as much as I love Gina in the role, I could never in a million years picture Michelle even trying to sell half the stuff that Phyllis has said and done over the past year. Speaking of Phyllis, I went back and watched some of Sandra Nelson's performance last night. I'm not going to lie, I actually loved her in the role. This was early 1998 when Phyllis, Danny and Christine flew to New York to obtain Sasha's manuscript. I didn't even know I had them. I had no idea that slap during the BeLief fight was genuine. Wow, I didn't think I could love that scene anymore than I already do. I'm not sure if this was just an edit from several episodes from around the same week as the fight, but I was thrilled when I found a YT clip that featured a scene between Taylor and Sheila discussing Brooke and the formula while all hell was breaking loose at FC. I'd never really seen the two interact before.- B&B: Old/Classic Discussion & Articles
I have to agree there, I remembered a lot more of the characters from B&B than Y&R. Y&R however appealed to me more because it was the 'darker' soap in my eyes, the storylines intrigued me much more than B&B. I think because as you said with B&B being the more campy soap and injected a lot more comedy than Y&R, that was what pushed me more towards Y&R. haha Yeah, I did a lot of Y&R and B&B research on YT too. As much as I do have a soft spot for the early 2000s because that was the Y&R I remember, I could not believe how much good stuff I had missed out on. B&B I'd disliked for years by this point, but it was the same result. I could not believe how much Sheila alone had committed before I was properly introduced to her in her 2002 stint, on two soaps no less! I had no idea she and Lauren had so much history together. One of my favourite experiences however was finally getting to see just when and how the Stephanie and Brooke feud began. oh yeah, I agree with you on Y&R being the darker soap as another thing that stuck with me as a small child was how dark looking the show always seemed....I think I probably said to myself "why does it look like it's always nightime" LOL of course way later I learned it was intentionally like that and even now that's a characteristic I'm sad the show has lost forever..... The B&B research led me into Y&R research LOL.....all I did basically was remember things about the show like Sheila, Sally and Brooke/Stephanie fighting (as I've always had a soft spot for mother/daughter in law's feuding because of a son.....like Kate/Sami LOL) Of course I became very intrigued with the all the stuff Sheila committed on Y&R but back then when I was just getting into all that stuff I was just stunned how much I learned she basically was in her own bubble.....for some reason it was always the younger Y&R characters at the time I was more interested on how Sheila would effected them if they crossed paths....people like Victoria,Ryan,Nina cause visually I probably would have liked to see them all standing side by side, especially since Scott Reeves was such a baby faced person who I couldn't believe once had such a beautiful mature looking woman like Kimberlin as a co star(I seriously probably would ask him in person point blank what he thought of Sheila since that was basically the big story going on when he first came on LOL), but I'm glad now they she never crossed path except with Lauren, Scott, Paul and a few others.... I agree completely, the fact that the show's entire look is now gone is probably what annoys me the most watching the current episodes. I could easily mistake it for any other soap opera on the air. Days of our Lives and Y&R air back to back here in Australia, I have actually done that on a few occasions (Y&R's quite a bit behind here, it's amazing how much this show changes over time!!). haha Besides Sheila, needless to say as I think you know, Brooke and Stephanie were the highlight for me for a long time there. Could not get enough of them. And seeing how it all began was an absolute ball. Hell, even now I go through that Susan Flannery fan site and find new clips of them I've never seen before. I almost hate to say it, but Sally was a character I never really began to appreciate until I got older unfortunately. I think it's because I was more interested in Macy than anything to be honest One storyline I cannot believe I did not know a thing about, even up until I discovered these forums, is David Kimble. I had absoluely zero clue about the character's existence at all until I saw those Masquerade Ball episodes I think it was. I was in total shock that Y&R had a sicker and far more twisted villain than Sheila running around, while she was still in GC!- Y&R: Old Articles
awesome! between you getting those episodes and the ones I'm getting there will be a lot to look forward too! I think Bill Bell was afraid that Sheila would be too much for Victor to handle which is why it was smart of him not to have them meet (or at least not have story together) and ugh.....it still annoys me how much Stephanie really did become a female Victor......she really could have used one more visit from her old pal Sheila before she died......it was sad to see her go granted, but she was just an insufferable witch towards the end....I know Flannery comes off a lot more likable then Braeden IRL but the fact that she had a "no slapping Stephanie" clause in her contract (well....maybe the last 6 or 7 years) kind of made it really ridiculous as Stephanie would've been slapped several times for all the stuff she said.....it was more like Stephanie always said all these hurtful things and someone would retaliate by insulting her back then it was....SLAP!!! haha.....yup such a Victor Newman thing, except he punches people out knowing damn well he deserves a big knock out too...LOL Yeah Katherine really didn't have to go there, and Jill was actually correct when she said "what do you deserve then?" I will always love Katherine but sometimes I feel like after the first decade most of the town never realized how much of a manipulative person Kay could be in the early years of the show when Jill was working for her.....I know it was all character driven how Katherine sort of grew out of that sinister side of her, and Jill became more harder and bitchier, but the problem I feel with Katherine AND Victor is that unlike DOOL where the whole town knows Stefano is basically the devil and treat him that way....I feel like sometimes it would be better if all along people knew of Victor as this horrible ruthless man instead of everyone mostly kissing his feat and bowing towards him as this great human being (if you watch the episode I just uploaded from June 15, 1993 which is Victor's funeral, though it wasn't Victor who died you will see what I mean) I guess that's one thing that made Y&R unique that it was the soap's where the anti heros can be the leading character's in a way......but in retrospect I think all of G.C gave Victor too much credit.....and it's like when people like Sheila eventually come along, who sort of did suffer for the havoc she caused, you kind of think it's such a waste not to see Victor defeated more often.....I know back then there were rare occasions, but even then he was mostly treated as an anti-hero....I hope this all makes sense LOL... haha Yes, there certainly will be. I almost miss Michelle Stafford when I see this version of Phyllis. There are times where I honestly have to remind myself that Gina Tognoni's been here just over a year, Michelle's Phyllis I haven't really been invested in since the early 2000s, I cannot for the life of me remember loving her as much in the last ten years as I did watching these 1994-2003 episodes. Although, having said that, I did enjoy her going back to her old ways in 2007 after Pheila. Stephanie was probably my favourite character out of everybody on B&B. Well, her former self, before she became a complete caricature and was just there to meddle and cause hell. I think the last time I truly enjoyed Stephanie was any scene she had with Darlene Conley. Oh, and in 2003 when she took back Forrester and literally had Brooke dumped in the trash. That's where my hatred for Victor truly comes into play. Look at how much Sharon has done over the years and some of the hell she's caused, and practically all of GC is usually armed with their torches and pitchforks. Hell, even Sheila! Lauren's utter refusal to even contemplate the thought of forgiving Sheila for what happened with Scotty, even when Sheila was getting psychiatric help from James. And yet, after everything that Victor has done, where the hell is his lynch mob? I'm amazed no HW has come along, taken one look at this character, and refused to have anybody, namely EB, screw with their script, and told him too bad if he doesn't like it. I'm disappointed to hear about the no slapping clause in Susan's contract also. Granted, I never noticed it since I wasn't watching. Hell, I think the last time I remember her getting slapped was 2005 when everybody discovered her heart attack was faked. Bridget slapped her then didn't she? I actually watched a September 2012 episode recently, with Victor's funeral/Sharon's wedding to Tucker, and I could not for the life of me believe how many people were bereaved that the man was dead, most of all Jack! The only thing that made it worthwhile was watching Sharon making the absolute biggest mockery out of the whole thing. Granted, she knew he was far from dead, but it was still hilarious to watch. I cannot believe they all kept a straight face filming that.- B&B: Old/Classic Discussion & Articles

haha no problem! it would be cool if you got those dates! I think Sheila would have probably been up Victor's ally in regards to woman.....at least until she stabbed him in the back (maybe literally LOL) granted I'm glad they never interacted during her original run, especially since she would have just become Victor's latest pawn in a scheme against someone......(Victor decides Michael needs to "pay" for something and unleashes Sheila on Lauren....again...LOL) but I do think Victor deep down admired Sheila's crazy, haha.....you have to remember Eve Howard scared Victor a little in the 80's..... I actually also really liked seeing Nikki's reactions towards Sheila too in those episodes as it sort of seemed like they made it hit her in a more personal manner if that makes sense, cause remember Nikki once upon a time was gonna be Scott's step-mother....I know Nikki/Lauren onscreen were never closed even if they are friendly with each other, but since Nikki at one time was sort of close to Scott because of his dad I'm sure she got an earful about Sheila (maybe even met her once) even though Scott and Nikki didn't interact all that much once Sheila was in full swing.....but the way Nikki said some of her lines about Sheila..."She's evil, she's just evil...." "She knew exactly what she was doing" kind of sounded more like she was remembering all the hell that her almost former Step-son and Step-grandson for that matter went through.... haha Oh yeah, about to place an order for them so I shall post them to YT as soon as they arrive I'm really glad Sheila and Victor never really got to know each other personally. As much as I love Sheila, I would never want her to succeed in, say, killing Lauren or succeeding in committing some atrocity to that effect. Having said that, the idea of her being manipulated and having the wool pulled over her eyes by TGVN and ultimately screwed over would be one of the most excruciating things to watch. Still, like we've discussed in the past, with Stephanie basically being the female equivalent to Victor, it was nice to see Sheila give her hell for all those years. Even Katherine acknowledging Sheila with "Sheila got exactly what she deserved." is still weird for me to listen to. And as much as it pains me to give any credit to anything they did in that Pheila storyline, I did appreciate those scenes where everybody joined together to help find Phyllis and the babies, especially the Nikki scenes you mentioned. I always imagine the real Sheila was out there somewhere just laughing after discovering she indirectly had the most prestigious of Genoa City up in arms courtesy of 'Sugar'.- B&B: Old/Classic Discussion & Articles
boy, typing all this just makes me more sad how even if not all the kids our age grew up watching soaps like we do, I'm sure they would still be able to tell you their memories of certain characters like Sheila back then if their parents watched.......today's children (Including my baby nieces) will probably never have any real knowledge or recollection of soaps as they get older (of course by the time most are our ages they will probably be all gone) haha She certainly nails that sinister appearance like no one else can. Most of my B&B memories seem to be Ridge, Brooke and Taylor. My Dad's side of the family were massive American daytime fans, Ronn Moss and Hunter Tylo were the favourites. I think I'm the only child that ended up liking any soap operas at all. Granted, I've always been a Y&R fan before a B&B fan. I think the only soaps my mother and siblings ever watched were Home and Away and Neighbours.- Y&R: Old Articles
haha I can't imagine she'd ham it up as much as MS did. I wouldn't be surprised if every regime since LML and MAB has taken one look at Sheila, seen all the sh*t they've done with her even after she was supposedly 'killed', and just thought 'f*ck it' and not even bothered with her. Which is sad, because if they actually did bring Kimberlin back, I couldn't care less how they explain Pheila or Sarah, Daisy and Ryder. Thanks for the link. I've been buying from another seller so far, ghfan, or something to that effect. She had a lot of the missing Sheila episodes from '05. I'm just waiting for someone to add August 11 and 12 to their list and that's it really. I think those are when Michael meets up with Eric to discuss Sheila, followed by Michael visiting Sugar in the hospital. Thanks so much for the '94 dates, I've been trying to find the exact ones for a while now. haha I did like hearing the great Victor Newman shaking in his boots in regards to Sheila, and even acknowledging something along the lines of 'she's a very clever lady.'- Y&R: Old Articles
haha It is very depressing. Especially considering how much Kimberlin sold those final few minutes. Oh wow, that is fantastic news! I haven't been browsing on there lately, I should probably check to see what else they have. Still dying to get my hands on Phyllis running down Christine and Paul as morbid as that may sound I do have some more 2006 in my collection, such as some episodes from April and November. I do have late December and a bit of 2007, namely that whole Pheila thing if we're all in dire need of a laugh as someone on here once said?- B&B: Old/Classic Discussion & Articles
